  Tobias looked at Clove, then Destrain. Both his mates nodded, and Tobias quickly replied, “I would be honored, Chief.”

  “Good, we can start you on your training first thing next week with Search and Rescue, and your training with Dallas in a couple of days.” Wyndingo replied.

  The smile Tobias gave was so bright, he could feel that it went from one ear to the other.

  “Gods, sweets, you do that so good,” Destrain said between clenched teeth as he threw his head back into the pillows and gripped Tobias’s hair tighter.

  Tobias only answered with a harder suck as he dragged his lips up Destrain’s shaft to the tip, then plunged back down until his cock was buried deep inside Tobias’s throat.

  Destrain’s eyes rolled to the back of his head as he moaned loudly. He never understood why they would be so cruel as to take his mate from him and leave him living.

  The only other pain he could think of that would be greater, was if one of his sons was taken from him. Those years that Desdain was gone, his heart bled for his son, but he still had hope that he was alive. Having Rhys around was his biggest blessing. His nephew, who was more like a son to him, had been his rock, his lifeline, when he lost both Clove and Desdain. And now that he also had Avery, Destrain knew he loved all three of his boys equally and couldn’t go on without them.

  As the minutes ticked by and Tobias didn’t come out of that building, Destrain could feel his heart withering and worried whether Rhys, Twix, or Clove would be able to pull him back this time. Then he thought about how he had just gotten Clove back and they were in a better place, sharing their love again; a love that was only enhanced by their spitfire of a mate, Tobias. He brought them back together and solidified their tri-mating. Destrain held onto hope that Fate wouldn’t have brought Clove back to him, or given them Tobias, only to take him from them so soon.

  When he saw Tobias walk out of that building, dressed like all the other firemen, carrying a human who was injured, he finally understood others’ pull to a man in uniform. Tobias looked so brave and strong, so proud. In Destrain’s eyes, his little mate wasn’t little at all, but ten feet tall and a true superhero. He had never been so happy or proud, as the moment Wyn had offered the job to Tobias. His mate was incredible and now everyone else knew it too.

  As Clove bottomed out, they all moaned together. Tobias grabbed onto his shoulders and buried his face in Destrain’s neck. He wrapped his arms around Tobias and waited for Clove. A few moments later, Clove met his gaze and nodded. They each began to move, plunging and pulling back in unison, causing Tobias to shiver in his arms.

  “So good, mates. You both feel so damn good inside me. So perfect,” Tobias said breathlessly, panting against his throat.

  And Destrain couldn’t agree more. It all felt so damn good and so right. All three of them, right where they were meant to be forever, and it was…perfect.

  EPILOGUE

  The sports bar was kind of quiet this time of day but would soon be filled with people gathering for Happy Hour and the big hockey game that was on tonight. Tobias was glad they were meeting Logan and Jensen early, so they wouldn’t have to deal with the crowds.

  Tobias loved meeting with their friends and spending time with them, but after his stunt last week, Destrain was feeling very possessive over both him and Clover, and Tobias couldn’t wait to go home to have some alone time with his mates.

  He suspected Destrain was suffering from a little PTSD from the fear of losing him. He thought it probably brought back a lot of memories from when he lost Clove all those years ago, so Tobias wanted to make sure he was there whenever Destrain needed him.

  It had made the past week a little rough and hectic with him training alongside Dallas and working with Angelo in Crystal, and also being there when Destrain needed him. What helped was that Destrain and Clove could make portals, but they had also given him a necklace made with pixie magic that he wore at all times. If he touched it, he could open a portal to them as well.

  He spotted Logan and Jensen at the table where he had first met Clove, the memory bringing a smile to his lips. It had only been a few weeks, but it felt like a lifetime ago. Now that he had his mates and was so head over heels in love with them both, he had trouble remembering a time without them.

  Tobias grabbed Clove’s hand tighter and headed toward the table, stopping short when he heard, “Don’t you worry, Pelt, I’ll find a nice boy for you. And isn’t it great that us paranormals don’t have to worry about condoms? I bet that saves all you boys a bundle of cash. But then again, you have to spend money on the lube so…”

  Tobias closed his eyes and shook his head, then started laughing when he heard Pelt’s reply. “That’s okay, Dolly. I know how busy you are. Don’t you worry, I’ll find a man when the time is right. No, I don’t need you to go talk to the cute guy in the corner. Dolly, wait. Shit woman, stop throwing packets of lube at me,” he said in a hissed whisper.

  He heard snickers around him and looked up to see all eyes on Pelt, including a very cute twink who sat at a booth in the back corner. But instead of laughter in his eyes, Tobias saw the poor guy looked like a deer in headlights as his Mama plopped herself down across from him and started chatting away.

  “Damn it, you gotta love that woman,” Clover said with a chuckle.

  “Says the man who doesn’t have to worry about Hurricane Dolly setting him up,” Logan replied as they pulled out seats to join them.

  “Oh, she’s harmless. And it won’t hurt any of those big, strong warriors to have a mother figure looking out for them,” Clove said, as he reached into the bowl in the center of the table and snagged a pretzel, then popped it in his mouth.

  Jensen leaned in, snickering. “I heard your mother has pretty much adopted all the Griffions.”

  “That’s true. She declared it, so now it’s law. She insists on me calling them my brothers and always refers to them as such now,” Tobias replied.

  “Well, I think it’s great. You can’t have too much family who loves, respects, and cares about you,” Logan said.

  “So, will Destrain be joining us?” Jensen asked as he ran a hand up Logan’s thigh.

p; “He’ll be here shortly. He had to stop by Wyn’s office for an update on the codes for the new developments down by the docks,” Clove answered.

  “We don’t have time for this. We need to get back to Crystal and find out if Rory has located Flyer’s exact position yet,” Wade seethed as he walked in the door with his mate, King Suneth, and a few of their men.

  “We can stop for something to eat, mate. I know how worried you are about Flyer, and I know once Rory gives us the word, that you’ll be racing out in a ball of fury to get to him. So, just take a breath for twenty minutes and eat. You’ll need the fuel to keep you going,” Suneth replied gently as he led Wade to the table beside them.

  Clove turned in their direction, and offered, “If you want, Wade, the minute you're done eating, I can open a portal for you, so you’ll be back in seconds.”

  Some of the stress that marred Wade’s face softened as he said, “Thank you, Clove. That would be great.”

  “What are you all doing in Maddox if you’re still looking for Flyer?” Tobias asked.

  “We needed to talk to Illan and he was here meeting with Wyndingo and the new Mayor. They’re looking for a new Captain for the other fire house now that Wyn is the Chief, Day, his second, and Nick, the new Battalion Chief. Devonte is doing great as Captain of Nick’s old station, but they need someone to take over Wyndingo’s,” Suneth replied.

  “Hey, wait a minute. I know that guy. Turn up the volume,” Logan called out, his gaze on the television behind the bar.

  Everyone turned to see what he was looking at.

  “How do you know him, love?” Jensen asked.

  “That’s the fucker who ruined my life. That’s the Senator I told you about, baby. Senator Harris.”

  Wade crossed his arms over his chest and glared at the tv. The look on his face made shivers of fear race down Tobias’s spine.

  “Hey, Commander, isn’t that the Senator we rescued from…” Bull started, but stopped himself.

  Wade only nodded as his gaze stayed focused on the screen.

  “Senator Colm Harris from New Mexico has just been appointed the new Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He will be overseeing the new…”

  “Son of a bitch,” Wade and Logan seethed at the same time, cutting off the anchor on the tv.

  “I thought you said he was from Pennsylvania?” Jensen asked.

  “He was,” Logan responded.

  “Now he’s the man in charge of the committee that oversees the FBI and Homeland Security,” Wade said in a low, deadly voice. “Forget the food. We need to get back to Crystal, now. Flyer may be in bigger danger than we thought.”
