  My wife Margaret has been a great support during the time I researched and wrote this novel over the past two years. She travelled with me to La Palma where we explored all the locations mentioned in the book. In Greenland, I visited most of the key sites – apart from the Summit Station – and met many guides and locals who were so proud of their wonderful nation.
