  But now I know better. I went searching for my path and my place, and found songs along my journey. And those are what I bequeath to you now.

  So, take these words. Take these songs. Take these memories, and hold them in your hand. See in them the faces of the many Gelfling who live beyond you, hear their voices and how they join the chorus that is the Song of Thra. Raise this cup and raise your voice; drink deeply and exhale with your own melody.

  Find yourself drawn into the song, where you join the others whose songs you know now as well as you know your own. Know that whether you are Stonewood or Spriton, Drenchen, Sifa, or Vapra, Grottan or Dousan, you are always Gelfling. And perhaps more importantly, now, know that you are a song teller. As I am and was; as I now bless you to be. Take these songs and know this; go forth and sing them with a voice loud and clear.

  For no matter which path you travel, that song is the Song of Thra; and it is the way home.

  J. M. (Joseph) Lee is a staff writer and creative consultant on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, a 10-episode Netflix prequel series scheduled for 2019. He is a novelist, writing mentor, illustrator, and graphic designer with a background in linguistics and film.
