Logan's hand was locked against Simon's shaft, pumping it up and down fiercely. Simon smiled in disbelief as the pleasure was overwhelming, and when it rose his heart beat frantically.
“I'm cumming, I'm cumming!” he gasped, and just as the words left his mouth he exploded, each drop caught by Logan's willing and eager mouth. Logan leaned back and wiped a droplet from the side of his face, smirking at Simon. He leaned in for a kiss and Simon felt his own heat on his lips.
“And what am I supposed to do about this?” Logan asked, pointing down to his thick erection. Simon was filled with hunger as he looked at it.
“Time for your next lesson,” he said as he stood up and pushed Logan down on the seat. Logan's hands slid around Simon's hips, his fingers slithering like snakes around his skin. Simon leaned in for a deep kiss, losing himself in the heat and the passion of the moment. He peppered Logan with soft kisses, then opened his mouth wide, seized by an uncontrollable, incandescent desire.
“Now we just do what comes naturally,” Simon said. Logan smirked again, looking at Simon with amazement. Simon had always dreamed of a man like Logan looking at him in this manner. He rocked back on Logan's lap and let Logan's hands fall down his chest, while he let his own hands explore Logan's body. The leathery skin had been hardened during hellish years on a lonely island. Logan had been isolated from humanity, isolated from himself even, and now it was Simon's hallowed and sacred duty to bring him back to life, to show him all the good that could come from love.
Simon took Logan's fingers into his own mouth and sucked on them, soaking them until they glistened. Then, he guided Logan's hand down his body to his most intimate area. Closing his eyes, Simon moaned in tandem with Logan at the feeling of the warm wetness seeping into him, making him wet and ready for the imminent arrival of Logan.
Simon smiled and kissed Logan again as he placed his hands on the back of the chair and pulled himself forward, lowering himself upon Logan. Gasping as Logan stretched him, Simon was in heaven. He settled on Logan and gasped again. Even the slightest movement brought with it such sweet delight. Never before had Simon experienced anything like this. Logan was so big Simon felt as though he was completely filled up. Logan's hands gripped his body tightly, holding him close. Simon could feel Logan's eager breaths hitting against the nape of his neck, sending him into delirium.
Sizzling drops of sweat fell from his body, mingling with the glistening drops on Logan's body. Simon rocked forward gently, getting braver with each movement, until he and Logan found a harmonious rhythm. The two men were so close to each other. Simon threw his head back in ecstasy as he held Logan's head against his chest.
“Oh my God. Oh my God,” Simon gasped, clamping his eyes shut as he tried to bear the sensations being driven through his body. Pleasure blurred with pain to create a sweet cocktail. Nails dragged down his flesh. For the first time he felt alive, and he was sure that Logan felt something similar too. Behind him, the movie continued to play, but the on-screen cries were humbled by the intense screams of the two men, locked in their anguish.
“I can't hold it,” Logan cried. Simon held on tightly, wanting to feel all of him, every part of him, wanting to become one with him.
“Let it go. Give it to me,” Simon grunted. Logan's body rumbled with tension. It convulsed and jerked and he roared with delight as he released himself. Simon's eyes shot open as he felt the heat explode within him, and then the movements started to settle down. The breathing became more measured and deeper, and slowly they returned to something a little calmer.
Carefully, Simon extricated himself and perched himself on Logan's lap.
“That was amazing,” he said, kissing Logan softly. The two men were clad in sweat. Their chests were heaving in harmony, and the afterglow was accompanied by a fanfare on the screen. Both men laughed. “I bet you never dreamed of this happening.”
“Actually I did, there was an usher who worked here who was super-hot. But that was better than any dream. I hope you can teach me some more.”
“I'm sure we can teach each other,” Simon said, smiling and kissing again. The two men stayed there, holding each other, enjoying the warmth and comfort of each other’s bodies. It was only a matter of time before real life entered Simon's mind though.
“Logan, you know you have to tell Bob and your mom the truth right? It's not fair to any of you to keep it locked up inside. You can't go around carrying that guilt with you for the rest of your life.”
“I know,” Logan sighed, “I think I've known ever since I've been back, it just took you to show it to me.”
“Well, I'm glad I can be of service,” Simon said. “And about the story. I think I know what I'm going to write. It won't infringe on your privacy, I promise you that.”
“Thank you Simon. I look forward to reading the article.”
They stayed in the arms of each other while the rest of the movie played. Logan seemed in awe. Simon didn't really understand what was going on, but he was merely enjoying being in the presence of Logan. The end credits rolled and the film flickered out. The screen went black, and they were plunged into darkness.
“I guess it's time to leave,” Logan said. They gathered up their clothes and got dressed again, leaving their small part of the world behind. Simon was filled with fear that this would never happen again. Once they stepped back into the outside world things would be different. Logan had already pulled away from him once, would he do so again?
They walked out of the cinema in silence and stepped out into the fresh air. The world around them hadn't changed, but, inside, they had both had a profound experience. Simon looked from side to side, wondering what was going to happen next. Then, he felt Logan's hand slip into his own, and the two men walked along the sidewalk together smiling.
Chapter Fourteen
“This isn't as revealing as I hoped,” Tonya began, looking down at the manuscript from behind her horn-rimmed glasses, “but it's very good, and very fitting. You should be proud of your work, and I think I'll be able to find some more stories for you in the future,” she said, smiling. Simon allowed himself a small fist-pump. When he walked out he was congratulated with handshakes from Tom and Billy, although Hannah still looked toward him spitefully.
He settled into his desk and looked at the finished article. After his intimacy with Logan bloomed he realized that the article didn't need to be about a man or the family, but about the themes of love, honesty, and acceptance. Simon had used parts of Logan's story, although he had left out the more harrowing elements, to show the readers of The Literary Summit that while it was good to keep hold of the past, it was also important to look to the future, to base decisions on the world around us rather than only what we have been taught.
On a day a long time ago, a boy was lost. Now he returned, years later, and what did he find? Some things changed, some had stayed the same. Simon highlighted his own journey as well, how he had matured over the years and had come to terms with who he was as a person. Everyone else loved it when they read it, even Hannah, although grudgingly.
The mystery of the lost boy could be ignored now. The man had returned, and had been found, although there was still much work to do in that area.
This time, when Simon returned home from work he wasn't concerned with the faces of all the other people. He was lost in his own world, thinking about the future and all the wonder it entailed. No longer did he feel lonely, or forgotten.
When he got home he showed the magazine to Amy, who hugged him and congratulated him.
“Are you going to go over and show Logan?”
“I think it's about time Bob and I put things behind us,” Simon said. He'd let Logan tell the entire story to Bob. Bob had apparently broken down in tears, saying that he'd always felt guilty as well, in that he'd never done more to help Logan. The brothers had cleared the air, and when Simon arrived to show off the article Bob greeted him with a handshake. Simon made it clear there were no hard feelings between them. Logan g
reeted him with a kiss, which made Simon blush.
“I still might have to get used to that, but I'm glad you've found someone who makes you happy,” Bob said.
“You'd better make me your best man,” Amy said with a smirk. Simon glanced toward Logan, trying to be sure that he wasn't put off by her words, but he took everything in good humor. Logan was very affectionate with Simon, always touching him, which made Simon feel special.
“This is the article I wrote,” Simon said, presenting it to them, “I hope that you like it, and that you see I've respected your boundaries.”
He handed it to Bob first. He, Logan, and Jackie pored over it.
“It's beautiful,” Jackie said. Bob and Logan congratulated him.
“You're a star,” Amy said, kissing him on the cheek.
“I just wish my dad could read it,” Simon said.
“What about your mom?”
“Actually I was thinking about going down to see her myself. It's been a while, and with everything that's happened I don't want to leave it much longer. I've come to remember how important families are, and that it shouldn't matter how much distance there is between you. I... I was actually wondering, Logan if you'd like to come with me?”
“I'd love to,” Logan said with a broad smile. “And speaking of mothers, I think I owe a visit to mine.”
All of them bundled into Bob's car, Amy included. They rode to the nursing home and bundled in. Lila seemed unfazed when they all approached, but then Logan spoke to her and her eyes lit up.
“Mom, it's me,” he said, bending to his knees so she could see him properly. Her old hands shook as they left the safety of the wheelchair and brushed Logan's face. He was no longer the boy that had gone missing so many years ago, but there was still a remnant of the boy in the man's eyes.
“I'm so sorry mom, I'm so sorry. I should have come back sooner. I should have—”
“I'm sorry too,” she said in a soft voice. “I should never have let you go.”
“It's all in the past now mom. I'm back, and I'm staying. And I'm happy too. Mom, this is Simon. He's my boyfriend,” he said, and pulled Simon beside him.
“Hello Mrs. Thomas, we've met already, briefly. I'm sorry if I upset you before.”
Lila smiled and nodded. “It's good that you've found happiness, Logan. That's all I wanted for you. All we wanted for you really, even though your father wanted it in a different way.”
“I just want you to know that I thought of you ever day mom. I missed you.”
“I missed you too. We thought of you too. We never forgot Logan, never. But your father...losing you destroyed him. He blamed himself. He was never the same, especially not with all the terrible rumors.”
“That's all over now mom. We don't have to worry about that anymore. We can all be one happy family again,” he said. His mother kissed him on the cheek. Simon's heart was warmed by this show of familial affection. It only made him want to see his mother more quickly. There was one more stop they had to make though. Logan's father.
He was buried in a plot outside a church near their homes. They all walked up there, but only Logan and Bob stayed by the grave. It was important to give Logan some time alone with his brother, Simon thought.
“You look happier than you have in a long time. I think I'm finally seeing the old Simon back,” Amy said.
“I'm feeling like my old self again too. I feel like I have a sense of purpose again. I want to push on in my career, and explore things with Logan. It's funny, when I first saw him I thought that he would be the one to rescue me from my loneliness, but I think we rescued each other.”
“That's probably how all good relationships start,” Amy said, glancing between Jackie and Bob.
The two brothers returned, looking haggard and drawn. Emotions were running high.
“I think we'll walk back from here,” Logan said, clasping Simon's hand. The others departed, leaving them alone. Logan said that he wanted to meet Simon's dad, so they walked over to where Simon's father was buried and paid their respects to him.
“It's a shame that we can't meet each other's fathers,” Logan said.
“No, but I think in a way they have. They've both stayed with us, for different reasons.”
“I wanted to thank you properly for what you wrote in the article. I'm glad I confided in you. After being alone for so long it's difficult for me to imagine sharing my life with someone, but when I'm with you it feels natural and easy. I feel like this is the beginning of my life Simon, and I know what I want to do.”
“What's that?”
“I want to open up the Paradiso again. I want to make it a cult place, where people can come to watch old films the way they were meant to be seen. I've saved some money from working at the cabin, and apparently dad left me some money too that has been untouched.”
“That sounds like an amazing idea. We can work on the plans while we go to Florida,” Simon said. Logan clasped his hands and leaned in for a kiss. Simon stood on his tiptoes as he caught Logan's lips in his, and they stayed there for a few moments, letting the blissful feelings linger.
“When I was stranded on that island I always dreamed I'd find someone like you,” Logan said, caressing Simon's cheek.
“Dreams can come true,” Simon said, and smiled again as he lost himself in another kiss. In that moment he thought of the future, of all the things that he and Logan were going to experience. Then, Simon looked down at his father's grave, hoping that his father was proud of the man he had become. Turning away, the two men walked slowly, hand in hand, toward the cast iron gates of the graveyard. The sun was dipping below the horizon, causing dark red slashes across the sky.
“So what's your next article going to be about?” Logan asked. Simon rested his head on Logan's shoulder as they walked.
“Oh I don't know. Maybe something about a certain restoration of a cinema. I have a few ideas though. I'm looking forward to exploring them.”
“And I'm looking forward to reading them. By the way, do you think your mom will like me?”
“Oh yeah, I'm sure of it. Of course, I'm not sure any man is really going to be good enough for her little prince.”
“Is that really what she used to call you?”
“What can I say? I was adorable,” Simon said with a cheeky smile.
“You still are. You're a hell of a lot of things,” Logan said, spinning Simon around and pinning him against the wall. Their breath mingled, becoming one as they kissed again. Logan pressed his body into Simon's and the younger man felt the simmering arousal threaten to rise to a boiling point.
“Let's get home. There are a few things I want to do before we head to Florida,” Logan said, and one look in his tempting eyes told Simon all he needed to know.
“Let the lesson begin,” he whispered as the two of them raced home.
