Then she ran her hand down Rafe’s stomach and it disappeared into his pants.

“Fuck woman,” Rafe hissed. “You don’t play fair.”

She reached up and grabbed Rafe’s hand and placed it on her shoulder. Then she dragged it downward to her breast. As soon as he made contact with where she wanted, she cried out and arched into him. At the same time thrusting her ass against Jonas’s hard-on.

Goddammit. Little vixen was going to get what she wanted, after all.

Jonas only had one brief moment of reflection to realize—maybe that was the point. Maybe in this moment, she needed things on her terms. Her way.

The next moment he was too busy shoving open the door to the shed and dragging Shay through it, Rafe following like his hand was superglued to her breast.

There were a couple of high windows in the shed but it was still dim inside. It was enough to see Shay yanking her shirt over her head again.

Rafe moved his hands back. He was obviously still not sure if this was okay. But the way Jonas figured it, while her decision making might be impaired by the weed, she still seemed to know what she wanted. And they’d been together as recently as last night.

So when she threw her arms around Jonas’s neck and started making out with him, he went with it.

“Touch me,” she gasped between kisses. “I’m already so close. I swear I’ll go off if you just touch me.”

  Fuck. Him.

Jonas glanced back to Rafe. “You heard her. Fucking touch her.”

Rafe shot him a glare, but it only lasted a moment. Because the next second he smoothed Shay’s hair out of her face and kissed the back of her shoulder over to her neck. And then he reached around to her waist. Jonas felt Rafe’s hand sneak between their bodies and backed up slightly.

He knew the instant Rafe made contact because Shay’s hands flew up, one hand burying in Jonas’s, the other in Rafe’s.

She dug her nails in too.

Which made Jonas so fucking hard.

He grabbed her cheeks and kissed her more forcefully, teasing his teeth along her tongue.

She gasped and arched and then, holy shit, she was coming. She cried against Jonas’s mouth and he kissed her, swallowing her moans and her air and everything that was Shay.

“Aw fuck,” she whimpered. “Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. It just keeps going. Oh God. It’s so good. And it just keeps going.”

Her pelvis kept thrusting against Rafe’s hand like she couldn’t get enough. From the way her body kept shuddering, she really was having some mega-orgasm. Fucking hottest thing Jonas had ever seen. He’d heard that pot could increase women’s orgasms but he’d never had any first hand proof—

“It’s still— oh, Goooooooooooood! I need the fullness. Please, one of you. Fuck me.” Her hand clenched in Jonas’s hair so hard he wondered if he’d have a bald patch tomorrow. But he didn’t fucking care.

He shoved his cargo shorts down and when he reached for Shay’s pants, found that Rafe already had them down. Shay was just kicking them off her feet as Jonas freed his cock. He didn’t waste any time hiking her leg up and around his hip and then—

Jesus Christ, there was the promised land.

He sank into her dripping pussy and could have fucking died right there on the goddamned spot and been a happy fucking man. Shay’s pussy. Songs should be written about this pussy. Empires fought over it. Lives lost.

  But it was theirs.

  She was theirs.

Then he remembered her vehement words. Her body was her own.

Fine. Her body could be her own.

As long as his was hers too.

“I’m yours,” he swore as he pulled out and thrust in again. “My body is yours.” He clutched her close, lifting her up off the floor as she wrapped her other leg around his waist. Rafe helped support her from behind, cocooning her between them.

“Every part of my existence is fucking yours,” he growled, kissing down from her throat to her breast and sucking her nipple into his mouth.

And she just kept squealing and writhing on him as she apparently continued riding the mother of all orgasms.

  Chapter 22

  HENRY

When Rafe came to Henry’s office saying that Shay needed him, the last thing he expected to find when he ran upstairs was Jonas’s face buried in her pussy.

He’d rushed over here thinking something was seriously wrong. Had they really come and interrupted his business dealings just for a midafternoon booty call? Did they have any idea how important his job was? He’d been in the middle of a meeting with the Trade Secretary from Central Texas North discussing a major deal to import several tanker trucks full of natural gas.

“Thank God,” Jonas said, lifting up from Shay’s engorged flesh.

She just murmured unhappily and reached down for Jonas’s head, urging him back down to her sex.

“Tag in,” Jonas said, eyes going to Henry. “Please. I can barely feel my tongue anymore.”

What the hell was going on here? It was no secret there was no love lost between him and Jonas. They tolerated each other and played fair in the bedroom because of Shay but the man had never gone out of his way to give up a turn with her.

“Henry,” Shay moaned, her voice full of need as he came closer to the bed. She sat up and reached for his shirt. Her fingers clenched in the Italian fabric. “I need it deep. So deep,” she groaned, running her hand down her chest and roughly squeezing her breast.

Henry frowned. Something didn’t look quite right.

  “Shay, are you oka—?”

“She’s high as a kite,” Jonas said, moving off the bed and flopping backwards on the couch by the window. He wiped his sweaty brow with his forearm.

“What?” Henry spun to glare at Jonas.

“Hey, it wasn’t even my fault,” Jonas said, then he paused. “Okay, well it mostly wasn’t my fault. It was an accident. But anyway,” he gestured toward the bed. “Cannabis turns her on like a house on fire. Rafe and I have been fucking her for hours. She just keeps coming and coming and coming. I don’t even know if they’re separate orgasms or just little spikes in one long giant one.”

Henry’s eyes shot back to the bed where Shay squirmed, her own hand dropping between her legs. Watching her slip her fingers inside her slick pussy had him hard within seconds.

“Charlie was out on a ride somewhere with the horses and Gabriel, well you know him. I doubt he’d be up for giving her what she needs. So you’re up to bat. If we stop she gets all frantic, just saying how bad she needs to come and how she needs it deep.”

“Deep,” Shay echoed. “Henry, fuck me deep.”

Well, when she put it like that…

Henry felt like he ought to stand and chastise Jonas more for letting their wife get into this state—but his cock was hurting from how tight his slacks were getting and well, who was he to deny his gorgeous wife when she needed him?

He yanked off his pants and in no time, was climbing between her legs.

She immediately reached down to grab his ass and guide him inside her.

She moaned and he swore because good Lord, even though he’d made love to her as recently as last night, he’d swear it got better and better every damn time.

“Deeper. Oh God, Henry,” Shay keened desperately, eyes closed and chest arched. “Deeper. I need you to touch that place so deep. In my center. Get to my center.”

With her blonde hair splayed all around her on the mattress and her breasts arched toward the ceiling like that, she looked like a wild sex goddess. There was a slight sheen of sweat glistening all over her skin and she was gripping the sheets so hard her knuckles were white.

“Shay,” Henry groaned, shifting so that he covered her body with his. He braced one hand beside her head and with the other reached down to grab her ass so he could seat himself even more deeply inside of her.

She let out a little satisfied grunt as he slipped in that last half inch. Henry leaned down and sucked on her breast. He knew
she liked it hard, so he drew it into his mouth with relentless suction, nipping with his teeth at the end.

She squealed and her hips thrust artlessly against his. It was like she was so desperate for release she couldn’t manage to pace herself even if it might bring her pleasure sooner.

That was all right. Henry would see to her pleasure. As he lifted his head and looked Shay in the eyes, he felt the strange spike of emotion hit his chest like it sometimes did when he was with her. He’d never felt anything like it before. Never in his life.

And it made him want to bring her pleasure more than anything in the world.

Because everything else—his job, the waiting Central Texas North Trade Secretary, the natural gas deal, all the things he worked so hard for—they all fell away under the spell of her green eyes and her perfect body wrapped around his.

With his hand under her ass, he lifted her to the perfect angle so that, not only did he hit the spot deep inside her she’d been begging for, but his pubic bone also dragged against her clit with every thrust.

He bowed his head into her chest. He couldn’t handle those eyes.

He was forty years old for God’s sake. It was too late to change who he was. To change the entire focus of what he wanted.

Shay was only supposed to be an ornament in his life. Not to become his whole reason for being.

  It was insane. Nonsensical.

So why did this moment making love to his wife feel more significant than all the money, privilege, and achievements that he’d fought so hard for?

In spite of himself he lifted his head and locked gazes with her again. Her glittering green eyes were full of lust and need and lov—

Everything in him rejected the possibility even as Shay clenched and wrapped her arms around his neck, crying out his name. “Henry.”

His name on her lips sent one of the most powerful orgasms he’d ever experienced ripping through him.

He thrust and felt her body spasming around him even as he emptied his essence deep inside her. Then he pulled back and plunged in again, deeper still.

And when he had no more, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him so tight there wasn’t a breath of space between them. She was still quaking as he whispered roughly in her ear:

“What are you doing to me?”

  “Loving you,” she whispered back.

Henry jerked away in shock from her but her body had gone slack, eyes dropping closed. Within moments, she was asleep.

  Chapter 23

  SHAY

“All right boys, where did we leave off last time?” Gabriel asked his boys as they sat down on either side of him on the couch in the living room.

Shay paused where she was cleaning up in the kitchen after dinner to watch them. In the couple weeks since The Great Smokeout as the guys had come to jokingly call it—something Shay would be mortified about forever—she’d determined two things.

One, she’d never go anywhere near marijuana again with a ten-foot pole. Because while she’d come harder and longer than she’d thought humanly possible, she hated feeling out of control like that.

And two, she still had no idea which of her husbands, if any, were working for Jason.

So far, she’d spent one on one time with Charlie, Jonas, Rafe, and Henry, probing to see if they were sensitive on any of the weak spots she thought Jason might exploit.

First she’d spent time with Henry. Maybe because she thought she’d told him… But no, she’d been so high and out of it. She couldn’t have really told him she loved him.

Her face and neck flushed even thinking about it. He wasn’t acting any different around her than normal and surely he would be if she’d actually said it, so… That part was just a vivid dream.

But then, how come she could remember the rest of her time with him so clearly? The way he’d clung to her, the urgency in the way he’d—

Shay shook her head. Anyway, she went to his office last week and found him smoking a Cuban cigar while wheeling and dealing over a video call with a trade outpost near San Angelo. He shared his office with the town’s Communications and Surveillance Department and he could request to borrow a laptop with access to the new internet whenever he needed.

As Trade Secretary, there wasn’t much Henry couldn’t get his hands on if he wanted it. What could Jason offer him that he couldn’t get for himself? Or was she missing something obvious?

So then she moved on to the others. She felt fairly confident Charlie wasn’t the mole. Because he was, well, Charlie.

She even thought about telling Charlie the truth. But what would be telling him do, other than maybe make her feel better? She remembered what he’d been like when they first got to town. He’d been so angry and ready to fly off the handle. What if she told him and then he did something foolish and reckless that put all of them in danger?

No, she couldn’t. She just couldn’t.

  She needed a plan.

And to have a plan, she needed to decide who else she could trust.

She needed to do it fast, too. Their trip to the capitol was just a week away now. And when the device Jason had instructed her to plant in the President’s sculpture didn’t do… well, whatever it was meant to do, he’d realize she wasn’t working for him anymore. She’d have a very narrow window to go get her kids back, and for that, she’d need her clan.

But her so-called investigations hadn’t turned up much of anything.

Well, at least until earlier today.

Her eyes flicked back to Gabriel.

Ever since that night when Jonas brought her home for punishing and Gabriel had touched her for the first time, Gabriel had worked almost every day, sun up to sun down. Even his days off.

At first she thought he was doing it to avoid her, but Jonas said those were the kind of hours Gabriel used to work. The aberration had been the few weeks after their wedding when he took days off each week and came home early on others.

So maybe none of them were a mole for Jason and she’d just been overreacting about the whole thing.

She’d clung to that thought for a couple of days.

And then she’d gone back to hunting for clues. She searched their belongings on the few occasions everyone was out of the house.

She left no stone unturned. No drawer unruffled through. No pocket unturned out.

She checked every floorboard to see if any were loose. She unscrewed every heating vent to look behind them.

  Nothing.

At least until she got to Gabriel’s room earlier today.

“The one about the fire men!” Alex cried, bouncing up and down on the seat cushion beside his dad. “Read it again, read it again.”

Tim huffed out a breath. “This is lame. Can’t we just go to bed already?”

“Ay, what would your grandmama in heaven say if I didn’t teach you your Bible lessons?” Gabriel made the sign of the cross. “Just because we don’t have a preacher in town anymore is no excuse for you not to grow up knowing the scriptures.”

Tim expelled a dramatic, drawn-out sigh and dropped his head against the back of the couch, face to the ceiling.

Gabriel ignored him and opened the big black Bible he always kept in the center of the coffee table.

Shay listened as Gabriel read about a king who put up a giant gold statue of a god and ordered everyone to worship it. When three men refused because they worshipped the Jewish-Christian God, the king had them thrown in the furnace. He even had the furnace heated seven times hotter than normal.

But they didn’t burn. The three men walked through the fire and as everyone looked on, a fourth figure appeared, walking with them.

Shay felt the little hairs on her arms stand on end as she listened. Her mom always partied hard on Saturday nights with whatever loser was currently occupying her attention, so making it to church on Sunday mornings had never exactly been a priority.

“That’s the angel!” Alex said. “The angel is walking with them and protecting th
em from the fire!”

Gabriel nodded and smiled, running a hand through his younger son’s hair. “That’s right. The angel protected them.”

Then he kept reading, “So then King Nebuchadnezzar approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, ‘Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!’”

“So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire. The prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.”

Alex started clapping and Tim just banged his head against the back of the couch as his dad finished out the story.

“At least Timothy sees through it.”

Shay jumped at Jonas’s voice and looked over to see he’d come up beside her. She hadn’t even heard him come in from the backyard where he’d been cleaning out the ashes from the cookstove after dinner.

“What do you mean?” Shay whispered, not wanting to disturb the scene in the other room.

Jonas scoffed. “That bullshit. What does Gabriel think he’s teaching them? That they can walk through fire? All that’s going to get them is third degree burns. Because miracles don’t exist.”

Shay turned away from the living room to stare at him. “Well maybe when you’re a kid, you’re supposed to believe they do.”

But he just shook his head at her. “Why? So when you grow up you can be even more pissed because the people you trusted lied to you your whole life? That just makes it ten times worse.” He looked away from her, his jaw working. “Believe me.”

Shay breathed out, looking back to the living room where Gabriel was giving each of the boys a long goodnight hug.

She both loved and hated watching their goodnight rituals. It reminded her of her nights with Matthew and Nicky. Sometimes she couldn’t handle being in the same room.
