A Hundred Billion Ghosts

“You know,” Margie said, “even if we find one, it won’t be the same one.”
“I know.”
“And even if it’s the same one, it won’t be the same one. Completely different molecules. You’ll have no axionic attachment to it whatsoever.”
“I know.”
“Strange. Do you feel some kind of irresistible draw? Is it physical, mental, subliminal? There shouldn’t be any residual attachment whatsoever.”
“I don’t know. I just want one.”
They turned off the beach and into the long grass again, headed for the nearest resort. The tips of the grass brushed against the hairs on Ryan’s legs. He was glad he had decided on shorts despite the November temperatures.
“What day is the flight back?” Margie asked.
“I didn’t book one,” Ryan said.
Margie nodded, untroubled. “What do you want for dinner?”
“I think you know the answer to that.”
“I don’t think any of these places will serve that stuff after noon.”
“I’ll bring some in. It comes in a convenient box.”
There were rocks buried in the grass, hurting the soles of Ryan’s feet. But he didn’t want to put his sandals back on. He wanted to feel the rocks.
“Hey,” he said, “if we stay long enough, do you think it will snow?”

The "hilarious and compelling" breakout surprise of 2017 has an even-more-addictive sequel!
It’s been seven years since all the ghosts came back. Now, in four days, they’ll all be invisible again. The clock is ticking.
Meanwhile the ghost of Abraham Lincoln has been prominently annihilated in mid-speech. And he’s not the only one; other ghosts are also being obliterated from the face of the Earth. All the evidence points to the Post-Mortal Services Clinic, where Ryan Matney happens to be a lowly, bored lab assistant.
So Ryan and the brilliant scientist Margie join forces with their incompetent and semi-corporeal detective Lowell and a sketchy psychic medium whose powers truly are medium at best. Together they race to stop the Clinic from falling into the wrong hands before the lights go out on the haunted world. And maybe, just maybe, Ryan won’t die this time.
Yes he will. More than once.
The second book in the series that has been called “crazy-fun and cleverly written”, “hugely imaginative”, and “the most fun I've had in fiction in a long time”.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
If you’ve ever turned on a television, and are not picky about what you watch, you’ve probably seen something written by DM Sinclair. He’s done more than hundred hours of that stuff, and will happily take the blame even for the shows he didn’t write.
Later he switched to writing books because he thought it might be nice. It isn’t, though.
Nevertheless, he plans to keep writing as long as he is alive. After that, he intends to visit Australia.
Like many Canadians, he currently lives in Canada.
