The Wild Child

For several moments after, I was trying to make sense of the shit. In all the years I’d known Jhyrah, I’d never known her to deal with Chubby outside of me. But now, he was somehow at her crib, while she was refusing to take my calls. Then the nigga had gotten so comfortable that he’d taken his shirt off.
“Nah, kinfolk wouldn’t play me like this,” I tried to convince myself. However, as the clock ticked by and Chubby showed no signs of leaving, I knew that something wasn’t right.
That’s when my mind began to think back to any clues I may have missed. Chubby was always claiming that I’d taken his dream girl. Shit, maybe Jhyrah had bitterly decided to keep it in the family. Maybe if Jhyrah was willing to fuck, loyalty wouldn’t matter to Chubby, anymore. Who knew? My mind was recalling all the times Chubby had openly copped to having a crush on Jhyrah. Was there some flirting between them that I’d missed? I honestly couldn’t call it. All I knew was that my cousin was in the house, without a shirt, with the mother of my child.
“Fuck this shit,” I spat, as I hopped out of my car, and crossed the street, before jogging across Jhyrah’s yard. Wanting to see what the fuck was going on in that house, I jumped the side gate. Noticing a window, I attempted to look in it, but the blinds were obstructing my view.
“These bitches got me fucked up.” I strained my eyes, trying to see through the cracks in the blinds. “They must don’t know. I’ll kill every muthafucka in there, cause I really don’t give a fuck.”
“Fuck!” I spat, realizing that I wouldn’t see anything through the eyelevel windows, and the rest was too high up. So, I hopped back over the fence.
For a few seconds, I paced back and forth in the yard. My mind was racing, as I thought about how I needed to handle the situation. Kicking the door in sounded like the best bet.
I was about to make my way to the door when I saw a shadow move in the frosted glass portion of the door. Thinking quickly, I dove behind a bush, just before the front door swung open again. Chubby’s bitch ass had another bag of trash and was still shirtless. Deciding that the time to handle this situation was now, I leapt up, and tackled that nigga down to the ground. He landed on top of the trash bag he was carrying and was practically defenseless.
“Nigga, you think I’ma just move to the side and let you fuck my bitch?!”
“Aye, what the fuck?!” he managed to get out, as I pummeled the back of his head.
“What the fuck you doing here? Then your bitch ass aint got no shirt on!” I teed off on his ass.
“What the hell is going on out here?” I faintly heard a voice behind me.
“What the fuck?” another voice added.
I didn’t bother turning around, as I placed Chubby in a choke hold.
“Jeremy!” Jhyrah screeched, as she grabbed my shoulder. “Why are you fighting your damn cousin?”
“Act like you don’t know. You fucking this nigga behind my back!”
“I know you fucking lying. Where the hell did that come from, Jeremy?” Cocoa stomped in front of me.
“I’m saying, he’s fucking Jhyrah—” I trailed off, until it dawned on me. She was here while Chubby was shirtless. So, him and Jhyrah weren’t in the house alone. I released my cousin.
Chubby scrambled to his feet and swung on me. Thankfully, he’d missed.
“Okay, bae, calm down,” Cocoa urged, as she stood between us. “This seems just like a misunderstanding.”
“A misunderstanding?” Chubby held the back of his head. “This man tried to take my head off!”
My adrenaline was still pumping. “What you saying?! You came out my gal’s house with no shirt on. The fuck was I supposed to think?”
“I’m not your gal,” Jhyrah snapped. “And you have really lost your everlasting mind. How the hell do you know where I live, anyway?”
I waved her off. “That’s irrelevant. All I know is that you better be grateful that I didn’t catch nobody over here.”
“I better be glad? Nah, you better be thankful! In fact, my nigga is on his way, as we speak!”
Cocoa giggled. “Girl, stop lying. Yall aint realizing that playing games is what got you here? Jeremy, I’m here because I do interior decorating. Jhyrah hired me. I had Chubby help, because I’m setting up the entire house. He’s here moving around the heavy stuff, and throwing away wrappers or whatever, as we go. He’s been moving furniture, which worked up a sweat. That’s why he wasn’t wearing a shirt.”
“Cocoa, fuck him. You don’t have to explain yourself to him,” Jhyrah chided.
“Shit, from the looks of it, you need to answer that man’s calls and do a lot of explaining. That way the nigga wouldn’t been hiding in the damn bushes.”
Jhyrah rolled her eyes again, before spinning around, heading back into the house. I was right behind her. By the time she realized that I was following her, we were already in the middle of the living room.
“What the hell do you want?” she placed her hands on her hips. With all the drama between me and her, I hadn’t taken the time to digest her having a round belly. She was pregnant pregnant…and the sight had never been more beautiful.
“You look beautiful, you know that, right?” I asked, clearly throwing her off.
“What?” she frowned, scratching the back of her neck.
“I said that my baby has you glowing, and you’ve never been more beautiful to me,” I reiterated.
Her scowl deepened. “What type of games are you playing?”
“That man aint playing. He’s fucking crazy,” Chubby interjected, as he snatched his shirt off the couch. “Jeremy, man, help me to fucking understand why you’d think that I was over here creeping with Jhyrah.”
I took a deep breath. “That’s my bad, man. I tripped out.”
“Yeah, I know it’s your bad. You acting like I don’t know that you’re crazy about this girl. I would never do no shit like that.”
“Bet not,” Cocoa voiced, as she sat on the couch, placing some curtains on curtain rods.
Jhyrah’s eyes looked me up and down. “You’re really standing here with dirt all over your clothes. Saint Laurent at that. Who the fuck does that?”
I locked eyes with her. “A man in love.”
She pursed her lips together. “Oh, so now, you’re in love, huh?”
“I always have been,” I confessed.
“Ion know if I believe you. You have me looking at you different now.”
I was about to rebut, when it dawned on me. “Aye, can we go somewhere and talk in private?”
She paused for a second, before relenting. “Yeah, come on.”
Together we traveled to the master bedroom, which was on the second level of the house.
“This house is nice,” I commented, as we sat at the foot of her bed.
She nodded. “It’ll really be something, once Cocoa is done.”
Without warning, I leaned over, kissing her lips. “I missed you,” I whispered.
“I missed you too,” she admitted, reluctantly.
I smirked. “You said that shit like it was killing you.”
“It was,” she claimed. “I’ve been feeling real stupid, lately. Loving you even after all the bullshit.”
“Why is that?”
“Look at how you handled me. Had me out there fighting over you. Had me in the blind, while a bitch was coming for my jugular.”
“Nah, you had yourself out there fighting, girl. Me…I knew what I’d done. That seed was planted, so I definitely didn’t want you fighting. But I do realize that I was wrong for carrying on a friendship that you were unaware of. If I hadn’t done that, then we wouldn’t even be in this place, right now.”
“Yeah,” she gulped. “But my therapist helped me to understand that everything happens for a reason. Had we not broken up, I wouldn’t have gotten pregnant. Because you know that birth control would’ve been in full effect. And I’m glad that it wasn’t. I guess in a way that I’m excited to have your baby, if that doesn’t sound too lame.”
r /> I smiled. “What’s lame about that?”
“I don’t know.” She shook her head. “Everything, I guess. I’m still figuring shit out, and there’s so much that I haven’t done. Now soon, I’ll be somebody’s mama.”
“That won’t make you handicap. You can continue to figure yourself out, just make sure to consider the baby along the way.” I cleared my throat. “You know, the whole rehab situation bothered me, right? I was frustrated because I wanted to be there for you, after I’d pushed you there in the first place.”
“Nah, that’s not on you,” she established. “I’m grown and you didn’t make me do anything. I was really making some dumb ass decisions, so I needed a reality check. Yeah, you was being pretty, but that shouldn’t result in me getting high. I was just losing control.”
“But I’m the only person who knows when shit aint right with you. If I hadn’t been tripping, I could’ve caught the shit, before it got that far.”
“Jeremy,” she sighed. “You’re not responsible for me. I’m grown.”
I sucked my teeth. “What you being grown have to do with me being there for you, and catching you when you fall?”
She laughed hysterically. “You really got your finessing game tight, huh?”
“Nah, I’m just speaking from the heart,” I used one of her favorite lines on her. I grabbed her hand and interlocked our fingers. “Will you give me a second chance, Jhyrah? And let me love you the right way?”
She poked out her bottom lip. “Hmm…I guess I can see how this shit goes, before I try and get my daughter a step-dad.”
“Say.” I cut my eyes at her. “What did I tell you about playing with me?” I gripped her chin and slid my tongue into her mouth. “You love me?” I whispered.
“Of course.”
“What would you feel if I asked you to show me?”
She smirked. “Nah, you show me.”
“Oh, say no more.” I pushed her onto her back.
Anxiously, I undressed myself, as well as her. Lowering my head, I kissed her belly, before pushing her legs open. Positioning myself between her thighs, I guided myself inside of her.
“Got damn!” I blurted, feeling possessed. I’d just slid into home and had nutted prematurely.
“Jeremy, really?” her head popped up.
“Bae, my bad,” I huffed. “The pussy just feels so warm and gushy. I aint never had nothing like this in my life.”
Still sitting on my knees, I remained rooted within her. It took my dick a full minute to stop throbbing. Then I commenced to delivering the lamest strokes I’d ever given. I was really about to bust again in a matter of minutes.
“Jeremy,” she groaned. “Not again.”
“Maybe,” I struggled to get out. “It’s the position. Let’s try something else,” I suggested.
This time, we both laid on our sides, and I slid into her from the back. Feeling a nut build-up, I didn’t move. Instead, I gripped her swollen breast, and toyed with her nipple.
“Fuck this, I’ma get me, with your greedy ass,” she proclaimed, lifting her leg, and rocking her hips.
Helping her out, I reached around, and slid my finger between her slit. I stroked her clit, while my dick eased in and out of her. My fucking toes were curling, as she fit snugly around me.
“Umm,” Jhyrah moaned, as I sucked on her neck.
I sucked a little rougher, when I felt her squeeze her walls around me. She was bouncing her ass against me, when it happened again. I’d shot the club up. Only this time, I could feel Jhyrah’s pussy twitching, letting me know that she’d came with me.
I continued to stroke her nipple, as I spoke into her ear. “Damn, it feels so good to be back inside of you. I aint never fucking this up again. I promise.”
She wound her hips, making me feel it. We both moaned in satisfaction together. “Hmm, I’ma hold you to it.”
Jhyrah
Me and Jeremy had finally had a break-through, but all that shit could change in the blink of an eye, if he didn’t do something about his damn phone. All morning long, it rang non-stop. Then Jeremy was playing possum, acting like he didn’t hear the shit. I guess that he didn’t want to make a false move, after just getting on my good side, but ignoring those calls wasn’t helping anything.
Then while his cell was ringing literally for the tenth time, he stirred a bit, hardening inside of me. He’d slept in it, and clearly wanted to go for another round. Delivering subtle strokes, he thought that he was slick.
“So, you can’t hear that phone and have been laying there like you’re sleep, yet your dick is wide awake?” I questioned faintly, although I’d intended to say it with strength.
“Fuck that phone,” he whispered, as he placed a hand on my belly.
“Jeremy, don’t play with me,” I hissed, as I squeezed my eyes tightly. As much as I wanted to talk shit, the unspeakable things he was doing to my body had my mind distracted.
He rubbed my body ever so gently, giving me what I’d been craving. Being there with him again, in that way, fully, was the equivalence of a child going to an amusement park for the first time. Pure satisfaction sprang from the top of my head to the tip of my toes.
When Jeremy intertwined our fingers, I lost it, releasing a thunderous orgasm. As if on cue, his phone went off again.
“Get the fuck off me,” I gritted, shoving him back.
He rolled onto his back and huffed. “What’s the problem, Jhyrah?”
“Your phone,” I answered plainly. “Answer it.”
“I really don’t feel like it,” he yawned.
I sat up. “Jeremy, I’m trying to be mature here. You asked me to take you back last night, and we’re not about to pretend that you were celibate, while we were apart. I need to know that you’re for real, and that means cutting all loose ends. Before all this shit happened, you never ignored calls, and we’re not about to start that now.”
Sucking his teeth, he grabbed his phone off the nightstand. While his cell was still in hand, it rang for the umpteenth time. “Yeah?” he answered on speaker.
“Well, damn, you finally decided to answer,” a feminine voice said on the other end.
“I mean, you kept on calling. What choice did I have?” he asked rudely.
“I see that you woke up grouchy.”
“Nah, I woke up in some pussy that I could still be in, if you hadn’t interrupted it.”
The phone fell dead silent, as I quietly laughed. As much as I wanted to taunt that bitch, I needed this conversation to proceed with the assumption that it was just between the two.
“You really insist on trying to hurt me, huh?” she finally responded.
“Nah, I’m really not,” he licked his lips. “Look, Vita, at the end of the day, I’m not trying to fuck with you no more. I thought that I was being clear, but maybe I needed to be blunter. So, that’s what I’m doing. We started off as friends and nothing more, but I realized that shit was one-sided. I would’ve been completely fine with it never going beyond that, because I really saw you as a friend. I accepted that this wasn’t the case for you, once I was told how you knew that your friend had drugged Jhyrah. If we’d been friends…there was no way that you would’ve kept that to yourself. But you did. Then once I found out, I slutted you out, but you still blow me up, like we’re on that type of time. The shit is nerve racking, and now you’re causing problems for me and my woman.”
“Your woman?!” she exclaimed.
“Yeah, bitch, you heard him right,” I spoke up. “So, stop calling his fucking phone.”
“Wow,” she stressed. “You let that hoe listen to me?!”
“Yep,” I laughed. “And you’re pathetic. Plus, I saw the texts last night. You got two of your friends to agree to play, huh? You done ‘bout ran out of friends to share with him. And your cousin? You actually let this man fuck your cousin too? The fuck is wrong with you, bitch? I could smell your desperation through the phone.”
Glancing at the screen, I realized that Vit
a was no longer on the line. And I was praying that the hoe was no longer in our lives too.
Chapter 37
Jhyrah
“Ooh, Jhyrah, do you see those flowers, right there?” Jaylah queried.
“Yeah, they’re cute,” I acknowledged, as we traveled down the sidewalk, before sauntering into AT&T.
We were there to grab some accessories for Jahreiah’s iPhone. She’d been blowing me up all day, simply because she wanted to hang. With so much going on, I hadn’t spent nearly as much time as I wanted to with my little sisters. Jahreiah was now 16 and was really growing up. She now had a learner’s permit, so she could thankfully do all the driving.
“We should have those kind of flowers at you and Jeremy’s wedding.” Jaylah offered her unsolicited advice.
I crinkled my nose. “Girl, aint nobody trying to get married, right now.”
“Whatever,” she mumbled, twisting her lips. “That aint what I heard.”
I gave her a funny look, not bothering to ask about what she’d heard. If something was to come of that, then I’d deal with it at that time. There was no need in getting myself all excited because my nosy little sister thought that she’d heard something.
“Jhyrah, we’re still going to the spa after this, right?” Jahreiah questioned, after discreetly giving Jaylah a look that she didn’t realize I’d caught. “Because I need a massage.” She held her back.
I gave her a weird look. “Girl, why would your back be hurting? What have you been doing?”
She gave me a sneaky grin. “Nothing.”
“I think that she’s been messing with Sincere’s son,” Jaylah snitched.
“Sincere’s son?” I narrowed my eyes. “That’s our step-cousin.”
Jahreiah shrugged. “Step aint biological. Just ask mama and daddy.”
“Girl,” I dragged out, as my eyes roamed around the store. I did a double take when I spotted a familiar face behind the counter. “Aint this about a bitch?”
“What?” my sisters both asked in unison.
“The Weekend works here,” I smiled.
“The Weekend?!” they exclaimed, probably assuming that I was referring to the singer. “Where?”
