Diving in Deep (A Bay State University Novel Book 2) Page 20

by Katie Holland

When I got up in the morning, I noticed a pile of clothes on the floor next to the couch. I hoped he wasn’t naked under that blanket because I couldn’t be sure I’d act appropriately if he was. Even though I was in a relationship with Anthony, the sex Bodie and I had was still the best I’d ever experienced.

I knew turning on the blender would wake him up, but I needed my smoothie to fuel me at practice.

“What the fuck is that noise?” he said, when I shut off the blender.

I laughed. “I had to make our morning smoothies.”

“It’s green,” he said, and looked disgusted.

  “It’s good, try it.”

  “I’m not trying that.”

  “Don’t be a baby,” I teased.

  “Fine. Give it here.”

I poured a little in a small glass and handed it to him. I could tell he thought it would taste bad but was surprised when it wasn’t.

“That’s surprisingly good. What’s in it?”

“This one has some apple, banana, pineapple, kale and of course protein powder.”

He finished it and got up to put his glass in the sink. I was both happy and sad he had underwear on. They were boxer briefs and fit him in all the right places.

“Are you staring at my ass?” he asked, as he stood at the sink.

  “Yep. It’s a good ass.”

He chuckled. “I love the fact that no one is ever sure what’s going to come out of your mouth. But you have a boyfriend, remember. You probably shouldn’t be talking about my ass.”

“Ugh, you’re right. I’m not sure I’m cut out for this monogamy thing.”

“If you haven’t had sex with anyone else then I’d say you’re getting the hang of it.”

That made me laugh. I kind of wanted to stay and keep this banter going, but I had to get to practice.

“Feel free to stay here if you want. I gotta get going. See you in class.”

I left him there in his almost naked glory. Bodie with clothes on was hot as fuck, but in next to nothing he was at least ten levels above that.

I ran into Kayleigh on the way to the swim complex. After giving her the smoothie, I’d brought with me, I grilled her on her night with Major. I didn’t get all the details, but I got enough to know she’d had a very good time. Then it was her turn to ask me questions.

“Was it’s weird spending the night with Bodie and not Anthony?” she asked.

“I don’t know if it was weird. He ordered dinner, we watched that tattoo show you hate, then I went to bed. It was better than spending it alone.”

“Did you hear from Anthony at least?”

“Yeah. We texted back and forth until I went to bed. With the dinner and laptop on the weekend I told him that was way over the top of what I would have expected for Valentine’s Day anyway so there was no need to do more on the actual day.”

“I guess that makes sense. Did Bodie give you anything?”

“If you’re asking you already know about the donation.”

“Yeah, Major told me. I think that was very nice of him.”

“It was,” I agreed. “Are you used to being with someone who has lots of money yet?

“No. I’ve told Major to cool it with the money because sometimes it’s a little much. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but that hasn’t happened yet.”

I wondered if I stayed with Anthony if it would become a normal thing.

Bodie was already in class when I got there.

“Did you go back to sleep?” I asked when I sat down.

“No. I got up and went back to my place. I did some homework.” He yawned. “But I sure as hell don’t want to do it every day. I don’t know how you do it.”

  “Years of practice.”

“I think you two are crazy.”

“Tell me you haven’t gotten up before the sun to catch a wave or two?”

He chuckled. “You’ve got me there, but there’s no way I would do that every day.”

“I think you just get used to it.”

The professor entered the room, and our discussion was over.

The rest of the week went by just like a normal week. Kayleigh and I were excused from classes on Friday since we had an away meet that was a longer bus ride than just a couple of hours, so I spent Thursday night with Anthony. He drove me back to the university Friday morning and kissed me senseless before I got out of his SUV.

I knew I was smiling like an idiot when I walked into the dorm. Kayleigh just shook her head at me. I quickly packed an overnight bag, and we went to meet the bus.

Kayleigh and I sat beside each other. She pulled out her tablet, I assumed to read a book, and I put my earbuds in. Putting on my latest playlist I closed my eyes and relaxed.

On Sunday, the ride back to Bay State was basically like a big party, even the coaches were in a great mood. We were officially on top of the points in our conference. There were only a few more meets left in the season, so if we could keep this up, we’d have the conference wrapped up.

It was late afternoon when the bus pulled into the school parking lot. I was surprised to see Anthony standing there. He came over and pulled me into a hug.

“I’m so proud of you,” he said.

“Thank you, but it wasn’t just me, it was the whole team.”

“Yeah, but you’re the only one that matters to me.”

  “Aww, that’s sweet.”

“Can I take you back to my place?” he asked.

  “Definitely.”

I waved to Kayleigh and Anthony and I went to his SUV.

As soon as the door to his house was closed, he was on me. We were all hands and moans, and I was loving every second of it. The bedroom seemed too far away, so we ended up on the couch. He produced a condom from somewhere and was in me before I knew what was happening. The urgency of his movements seemed to fuel me, and it didn’t take long before I was coming, and he was right behind me.

“That was unexpected,” I said, when I could breathe again.

He chuckled. “I missed you this weekend.”

“If that’s the reaction I’m going to get maybe I should go away more often.”

“Speaking of going away, what are you doing for Spring Break?”

“Kayleigh and I are going back to Tulsa to see our families. Why?”

“I was wondering if I could persuade you to go on a trip with me.”

  “A business trip?”

  “Nope, all pleasure.”

“Where?” I couldn’t keep the smile off my face.

  “St. Lucia.”

  “Oh my God, really?”

“Yes really. Have you been there before?”

I half laughed; half snorted. “No. I’ve never left the US.”

  “So, you’ll go with me?”

“Um, let me think … uh, yeah! My mom and Kayleigh are going to be so pissed at me, but this is like a once in a lifetime trip for me. They’ll have to get over it, but I can’t wait to tell them.”

Anthony laughed at my enthusiasm. I’ve always dreamed about swimming in the clear blue waters of the Caribbean and it looked like I was finally getting my chance. I immediately went to my new laptop and started pulling up pictures of St. Lucia. It was stunningly beautiful. It was going to be a long wait for the next three weeks to pass.

Karma bounced into class the next morning.

“Good morning. You seem to be in an excellent mood,” I said, as she sat next to me.

“I’m in such a good mood.” She was grinning from ear-to-ear. “Anthony is taking me to St. Lucia for Spring Break.”

I wasn’t sure how I felt about that, but I tried to be happy for her. “That’s great.”

She laughed. “Is that a hint of sarcasm I hear?”

  “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Whatever,” she said, but was still laughing at me. “What are you doing for Spring Break?”
>
“Don’t know yet. My dad mentioned something about a getaway, but I don’t know anything more than that.”

  “Too bad for you then.”

I rolled my eyes. “Congrats on the meet this weekend. I hear you guys killed it.”

“We sure did, and thanks to Anthony I even got my homework done.”

“What does he have to do with your homework?”

“He bought me a brand new, top of the line laptop to leave at his place. All I have to bring with me is the flash drive and I can do my work there or at the dorm.”

“Well, wasn’t that nice of him.” Even I could hear the sarcasm in my voice that time.

Despite my tone, Karma was smiling. “I really don’t know why you don’t like him.”

I shrugged. “Just a gut feeling, I guess. What are you and Kayleigh doing tonight?”

“Nothing as far as I know. Why?”

“I thought we could take you out to celebrate your win this weekend.”

“I’m in and I’m sure Kayleigh will be as well. You should ask Tiffany if she wants to join us.”

“Okay. Any preference on a place to eat?”

  “Nope, surprise me.”

I chucked. “You sure like surprises, don’t you?”

  “Yep, always have.”

The professor entered the room, effectively ending our conversation so I got out my phone to text Tiffany.

  Me: Are you busy tonight?

I wasn’t sure of her schedule Monday morning, but she texted me right back.

  Tiffany: No. What’s up?

Me: We’re celebrating the girls win on the weekend and we’d like you to join us

  Tiffany: Sound great

Me: I’ll pick you up at 6:30

  Tiffany: Great. See you later.

After class, I let Karma know that Tiffany would be there tonight and she seemed really happy about that, but I wasn’t sure anything would make her unhappy today. I couldn’t really blame her though. I knew she hadn’t travelled a lot and a Caribbean vacation was probably like heaven for her. The only thing that pissed me off was that it was Anthony taking her and not me. I tried not to think about that too hard as I went to get a coffee.

  ****

After numerous texts back and forth to Major, we finally decided on a place to eat. It was almost 6:30 and I was sitting outside of Tiffany’s apartment. She finally came down and waved when she saw me.

“Where are we going?” she asked when she got in.

“It’s a new place that just opened. It’s supposed to be some kind of Asian fusion food.”

“Cool, I like trying new things.”

I glanced at her and she was smiling. “You can’t be that excited about going out to eat. What’s put that grin on your face?”

  “They broke up.”

I was lost for a minute. “Huh?”

“My roommate and the guy I had a crush on. I probably shouldn’t be so happy because she’s miserable, but he cheated on her and I’m just glad I didn’t end up dating him or I’d be in her place right now,” she said in a hurry.

“That was a mouthful,” I said with a laugh.

“Sorry. I’m just really happy it’s not me. I’m sure that makes me a horrible friend and I probably should have stayed with her tonight but honestly, I just couldn’t. I was sure I would have said something to make it worse, so I was glad I had a reason to not be there right now.”

I shook my head. “I’m not sure I’ll ever understand the female species.”

Tiffany laughed. “Trust me, we feel the same about the male species.”

A few minutes later, we were at the restaurant. It seemed busy for a Monday night, but I assumed that was because it had just opened on the weekend.

I’d made a reservation earlier in the day and gave my name to the hostess. I wasn’t expecting anyone else there yet since the girls weren’t done with practice until 6:00. So needless to say, I was surprised to see Anthony sitting there when we got to the table.

Sitting as far away as I could get from him, I picked up the menu without saying anything. Tiffany looked at me with a small smile.

“It’s Anthony, right?” she said to him.

  “Yes.”

  “Where’s Karma?”

  “She’s coming with Kayleigh.”

“I see,” she said, and turned to look at me.

I just shrugged and pulled out my phone.

Me: Told you he’s a douchebag

She smiled when she realized I texted her while sitting right next to her.

Tiffany: Certainly doesn’t seem like the friendliest guy

Me: I can’t stand him. I don’t trust him, and I think he’s using Karma

Tiffany: Is this because you have feelings for her?

Luckily, I didn’t have to answer that because Karma, Major and Kayleigh arrived.

Tiffany leaned over and whispered, “Don’t think I’m letting you off the hook. You’re going to answer my question later.”

I knew she would hold me to it. She had a bit of a stubborn streak in her when she wanted to.

  Chapter 29

  Karma

I probably should’ve told Bodie I’d invited Anthony to join us for dinner, but I kind of wanted to see his reaction when he showed up. Too bad he got there before I did. I was laughing to myself, yeah, I know, there goes my strange sense of humor again. My phone dinged and I had a feeling I knew who it was.

Bodie: You did this on purpose because you know I don’t like him

  Me: Yes, I did

Bodie: Why? I thought we were friends?

Me: Ouch, that stung a little

Bodie: It should. So … why?

  Me: I don’t know

  Bodie: That’s a shitty answer

Me: You’re right. I guess I want you guys to like him, so I didn’t give anyone a choice to have him here or not.

“Who are you texting?” Anthony asked me.

My first response was going to be ‘none of your business,’ but I stopped myself from saying that. “Just a friend from school.”

That wasn’t technically a lie, but it also wasn’t exactly the truth. I looked up to see Bodie smirking at me. Thankfully our waitress came and took our drink orders.

The last time all six of us went to dinner, it had been a little bit awkward because none of them knew Anthony. Tonight, wasn’t much different, and I didn’t know how to fix it. Anthony seemed uncomfortable which confused me. Anthony, Bodie, and Major all came from money, so I’d thought they’d get along better than what I was seeing. I already knew Bodie wasn’t a big fan of his, but it appeared that Major felt the same way. I needed to figure out why and try to change their opinion. I liked Anthony and could see being with him for a while, if not longer.

I was actually glad when dinner was over. I left with Anthony and we went straight back to his place.

“I won’t make you do that again,” I said, when we got there.

He chuckled. “I don’t think your friends like me very much.”

“Seems that way, but I don’t know why. Does it bother you?”

  “Not at all.”

  “It would bother me.”

“They can think whatever they want, but it doesn’t change the way I feel about you.”

I think I swooned a little. “All I want to do right now is get you naked but I kind of have to work on that paper.”

“We’ve got time later,” he said. “Did you bring your flash drive?”

“You know it,” I grinned and dug it out of my purse.

We set up in the living room. Anthony picked something to watch on TV and I sat next to him, crossed my legs and got to work on my Literature paper.

A couple of hours later my paper was done and sent to my professor.

“I think it’s later,” I said, closing my laptop.

“I like the sound of that.” He took it off my legs and put it on the coffee table.

Anthony slowly took off my clothes until I was naked and under
him on the couch. I think he kissed every inch of me until I was so ready, I was begging for him to touch me where I needed it the most. But no matter what I said he wouldn’t speed up. Finally, he started taking off his clothes but kept up the same slow pace.

“Are you trying to kill me?” I asked.

He chuckled. “Always in such a hurry.”

“I’m going to explode if you don’t speed this up.”

“Trust me. It’ll be worth it.”

Once he was fully naked, he put on a condom and positioned himself over me. I felt him enter me at the slow pace he’d already set. I tried to change what he was doing but between the fact he was holding my hands down and his legs had mine pinned I wasn’t moving.

Anthony whispered in my ear. “Close your eyes and just allow yourself to feel.”

I did what he said. I allowed my mind to focus on all the sensations I was feeling and not just what was happening between my legs. The orgasm hit me out of nowhere and it was powerful, but he wasn’t done. When I stopped shaking, he moved us so that I was straddling him.

“You’re in charge now,” he said, and started squeezing my breasts.

I grinned and moved as fast and hard as I could. It didn’t take long, and I was coming again. Anthony shouted my name, and I knew he was coming too.

I collapsed onto him. When our breathing was almost back to normal, I sort of slid off of him and back onto the couch.

“That was just wow,” I told him.

“Now do you see why I wanted to slow things down?”

“Yeah,” I said with a yawn.

“Time to put my girl to bed.”

“I need to clean up first.”

“Okay, a quick shower and then to bed. I know you need to be up early.”

I wasn’t going to argue with that. After a five-minute shower, I crawled into his bed. Anthony was there a few minutes later. He pulled me close to him and I was asleep in minutes.
