Going, Going, Goner (Double Play Series Book 2)

“It fit last time Savvy, it'll fit again.”
He drops his head to swipe his tongue through my slit again and I feel myself relax under his assault. His strong thumb takes over for his tongue and I feel his thick crown pushing its way inside me.
I groan at the protrusion. Coming undone under his touch and tongue is blissful, but nothing compares to my walls wrapping around his thick length.
“Yess,” I hiss.
He slowly pushes more of himself into me causing my back to hit the corner of the step. I lean back on one elbow to brace myself for his movements. I grab the back of his head with my other hand, latching my lips onto his neck and sucking like a leech. My legs fall off his shoulders and I wrap them around his waist, digging my heels into his back, as I hear one stiletto drop to the floor.
He cages me against the stairs, one arm above each shoulder and his bent knee on the stair underneath my ass. He slowly kisses underneath my ear and then the other as he pushes himself even further inside me, stretching me.
“Jax!”
“You’re okay princess. I’m gonna go slow.”
He bends the other leg and props his foot on the stair, pushing all the way into me and I fight for a breath. This angle is hitting spots inside my body that I never even knew existed. Sensitive spots that make me close to exploding like I never have before.
“Shit! Jax...I'm...I'm gonna come,” I moan, gritting my teeth.
“So good, Savvy. So fuckin’ good,” he growls in my ear as he continues to grind into me with a frenzy, deeper and deeper with each thrust.
“Oh God…” I moan.
My walls collapse unexpectedly around him as I grip the back of his head, digging my nails in, riding out this endless orgasm.
“I'm gonna come. Shit I…” he pulls out of me quick, fisting his erection and clear juices leak out, coating the small patch of hair above my pussy and dripping down my bare thigh.
I watch his hand move up and down his shaft and instinctively lick my lips. I move down a step quickly, covering him with my mouth as he groans and explodes down my throat.
“Fuckkk,” he groans.
I lick his shaft clean and he tips my chin up to look at him.
“I'm sorry,” he says, his voice strained.
“For what?” I ask confused.
“I know the first time we didn't use a condom and I'm safe, but I shouldn't have done that again without askin’ ya. I got so caught up--”
“Jackson, stop. I...I'm safe, okay? I got caught up too, it ain't a big deal. I like not havin’ a barrier between us,” I say, grabbing his cheek.
“Then I'm okay with that. Are you on the pill or…”
I flinch, not ready to have this conversation yet, but I guess it's now or never.
“I uh…”
I look down, trying to hide the tears that I know are bound to come. Come on Savannah, stay strong.
“What's wrong?” Jackson asks, sitting on the step below me to look at my face.
“We don’t have to worry about a baby,” I say softly.
“Okay…”
I hold on to all the incredible moments I've had with Jackson and even with Lacey. I’ve grown so accustomed to having her positive presence in the office, and it would kill me if our relationship got in the way of that continuing. Dammit, this can't be it. I let out a breath and rip off the bandaid.
“I can’t have kids.”
I don't look at him. I can't look at him, but he tilts my face to him anyway.
“What um...what do you mean?” he asks, uncertainty lacing his voice.
“Can we...maybe put ourselves together first, and go sit somewhere comfy? It's kind of a long story.”
I gesture down to our appearance. Jackson’s jeans are hanging around his ankles and my skirt is lifted up around my stomach. He nods and pulls up his pants, zipping and buttoning his jeans. He puts his hand out, to lift me to my feet and the next thing I know, I am in his arms, bride over the threshold style and we are walking down the rest of the stairs.
“What are you doin?” I laugh.
“Cleaning you up first. I made a mess all over you.”
He kisses my forehead as he walks us to the bathroom off the staircase. He sits me on the counter and reaches over to the shelf above the toilet for a wash cloth.
I watch his strong hands turn the faucet on and he tests the temperature before he soaks the rag.
“Open.” he says motioning to my legs.
I slowly open them as he moves the warm rag over my center. The rough material of the rag makes me squirm and I see a small smile break out onto his face.
“You good princess?” he asks cheekily.
“You know exactly what you’re doin’, you bastard.”
“Hey, hey no need for name callin’. I’m just cleanin’ up my woman. What type of man would I be if I let you walk around the rest of the night with my cum drippin’ off your body?”
His voice is low and menacing and I close my eyes at his filthy words.
“Jackson…”I warn.
He smiles as he grabs a clean towel and dries me, pulling my thong back in place and righting my skirt. He puts his hand out for me and I grab it, hopping off the counter.
He laces our fingers together as we walk back across the foyer to his living room. He has a big screen TV above a beautiful brick fireplace and despite how extravagant the house is, this room is comfy. I could see myself cuddling up on the armchair by the fireplace with a good book while Jackson watches TV. A normal couple night in sounds perfect, but what if this is all too much for him?
I sit on the corner of the couch, hoping to put some distance between us, if he does decide my life is a deal breaker.
“So, kids…” he says eying me.
“Uh yeah, speakin’ of kids, where's Lacey?” I ask, realizing Jackson and I just had sex on the stairs in his house, where anyone could have walked in and witnessed. I’m stalling, I know, but I’m so nervous, this is it. Jackson has made me feel things I never thought I would feel again, and I want him to be a part of my life, of our life.
“Sleepover at a friend’s house.”
He moves closer to me on the couch and grabs my hands. So much for distance. I nod, and he tilts his chin towards me.
“Whenever you’re ready Savvy. I’m all ears.”
“Right, yeah.” I swallow down my insecurities and continue. It’s now or never Sav.
“So, a big part of my divorce was Hugh just bein’ a cheatin’ bastard, but the main thing was um...my condition.”
Jackson just studies me, his expression neutral, as he allows me to speak.
“I guess I'll uhh...start from the beginnin’.”
He nods and I take a deep breath, before I continue.
“Well, I started SG Sports and it took off. I was advised to draw up a prenup when we decided to get married, as did his family. He came from money and his family didn't want us to merge the two. There's a lot of details and confusion, but basically, we were supposed to put the same percentage of our earnings into an account for our children each year. I ended up puttin’ in more, a helluva lot more, because he has problems. Gamblin’, drinkin’, strippers, you name it. After five years of marriage, if we divorced it should have been a clean break, we could leave with what we brought with us, except it wasn't.”
I take another deep breath, looking down at my fingers. I wipe at my eyes, willing the tears not to fall. His strong hand lands on my shoulder and his fingers dig in, relaxing my tense muscles.
“Not havin’ a child meant that the account that was supposed to be for one would be split between the two of us. He barely put $2,000 in it, but ended up walkin’ away with close to $500,000, because of how much I was makin’. We tried for a baby, so many damn months we tried. After a year of being married with no success, we went to the doctor to see what the problem was. Apparently, the problem was me. I have these little things, fibroids, and they're blockin’ my fallopian tubes. Blocked fallopian tubes mea
ns no sperm to the egg, no sperm to the egg means--”
“No babies,” he says in a whisper.
“Yeah,” I say softly. “So, when Hugh found out about that, he shut down. Didn't want to try any procedures, stayed out late, came home smellin’ like women, all while barely even looked my way.”
“Why did you stay with him?”
“The prenup. If I wanted to separate before the five years, he would benefit a lot more than he already was.”
“What about a cheatin’ clause? He was cheatin’, right?”
“He threatened to out me. Said he could show proof that I knew about my condition before we got married, basically that I had trapped him into a marriage for his family's money. It obviously wasn't true, but just the bad press alone would have destroyed SG Sports and um…other stuff I have goin’ on. So, I sucked it up, did my five years and then found out it was all for nothin’. He got half the money in the dependent account, even after everything.”
Jackson shakes his head and the sadness I felt turns to anger.
“Now he has pictures of us...in bed. He's gonna release them to a judge and say I cheated, and then he'll get half of Double Play Sports.”
“How is that possible? The case is closed, no? And how could he say you cheated if the pictures are of him!”
His voice booms throughout the living room and I flinch, unintentionally.
“We settled outside of court. I didn't want the media attention and I was scared he would go back on his word and spread the news of my condition. He can technically take this to court now, with new findings and say our evidence was fraudulent. I looked at the pictures. There's nothin’ to prove it's him.”
“You ain't givin’ that asshole a dime, you hear me? Well figure this out.”
He lifts me up into his lap and wraps me in a hug. I feel so safe in his arms and when he said “we” I nearly faint with happiness. But I'm still not done with confessions, and he might not like what else I have to say. I don't want to ruin this moment, though. I think I exhausted the bomb drops for the night, the rest can wait.
Chapter 10
Savannah
The past couple weeks with Jackson have been a dream. There has not been one day where I don't hang on to his every word and explode with his touches, his kisses...everything. But a big black cloud is hanging over us, threatening to break free and with every day that passes, the more guilt I feel.
I stand with my face pressed against the glass of the fan box and smile. God, that ass in baseball pants, I'll never get enough. I bit the shit out of it last night so yes, women, it is a thing. Jackson walks up to the plate and takes a couple swings as the pitcher walks around the mound, throwing around the rosin bag.
“Come on baby,” I whisper.
He steps into the box, taking his stance and the first pitch is outside, as he watches it fly into the catcher's glove. He steps out of the box, adjusting his batting gloves, as the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher.
“Good eye baby, come on.”
“Aunt Savannah, he can't hear you,” says a voice from next to me.
My nephew, Devin, stands next to me with a smile on his face and his arms crossed.
“I know that, I just...it makes me feel better, okay, smart ass?” I quip.
He laughs and shakes his head.
“Don’t let Mama hear you cussin’ like that.”
“Oh please, your mama is a fraud. She's got a mouth like a truck driver, don't let her fool you.”
I look back to the field and another ball, low and away. I clap my hands together and Devin laughs.
Again, Jackson steps out of the box, adjusts the right glove then the left and steps back in. The pitch is high. Checked swing. He didn't go, and I squeal.
“Next pitch is a fastball down the middle. He’s gonna crush it,” Devin says, nodding to the field. “Going, going, goner at his finest.”
Jackson takes his stance and the ball glides towards home plate. His bat cracks against the ball and it flies towards the outfield. I hold my breath. The ball lands in the right field stands, upper deck and I jump up, clapping my hands.
“Yes!”
“Told you,” Devin laughs.
The box erupts with cheers and I watch as Jackson jogs around the bases high fiving the first base coach and then the third. He stomps on home plate and points up to the stands, right at me. I blow him a kiss and he pretends to catch it and my heart flutters.
“Guy's a beast,” says Gabriel, coming up next to me.
“He sure is,” I say, my voice dripping with lust.
“Nope. Didn't hear that,” he says.
I smack my forehead, not even realizing I said that out loud and to my brother, no less.
“Sorry,” I giggle.
“He treatin’ you good? That's all I care about.”
“Yes, perfectly” I say, smiling.
Gabriel nods and gives me a quick hug.
As if Jackson couldn't get more perfect, he arranged for everyone to come to his game tonight and rented out a box for my birthday. Granted it isn't until next week, but between his away games which are dragging him away for the next two weeks, and my niece and nephew and their crazy schedules, everyone was able to get this weekend free and Jackson took advantage of it.
I should also mention, that he did this all without my knowledge. To say I was surprised, is an understatement. No one has ever put forth this much effort to put a smile on my face, and it scares me how fast I am falling in love with him. Telling him my plans may make all of this go away and all of this happiness could one day just be just a fond memory.
I turn away from the glass and towards the room full of people I love. I feel tears welling up in my eyes and wipe them away quick.
“Careful Aunt Savannah, when my mama started gettin’ teary eyed she ended up like that,” my niece Bella says, motioning to Charlotte and her growing belly.
I cringe but cover it quickly. The kids don't know about my condition and I plan to keep it that way. I laugh to cover up my disappointment.
“I'm just happy y'all could be here and celebrate with me.”
I bring her in for a hug and kiss her forehead. Her and Devin have become the most important people in my life in such a short time.
“Savannah, do you think my dad will let me stay over at Charlotte's with Bella tonight?” Lacey comes over and asks.
“I uh...I'm not sure. I don't see why not. We'll ask him after the game. Is it okay with Charlotte?” I ask, looking over to where Charlotte is talking to my mother.
“She said it's okay. I already asked her,” Bella says.
“Aright, we'll ask your dad,” I say smiling.
Lacey and Bella have hit it off this weekend and I see such a change in her since she's been working with me. She's an incredibly smart girl and works the computer and appointment system, better than our receptionist. If I didn't need her during the day when Lacey was in school, I would honestly let her go and hire Lacey full time. Jackson even mentioned that she’s been better in school and he hasn’t gotten a phone call to go up there since she started.
“Can we have a girl’s day tomorrow?” Bella asks me.
“Sure kiddo. I would love that. You in Lace?”
She nods eagerly and throws her arms around me in a hug. I'm falling so fast for Jackson and Lacey, and they're filling a void I always knew I had, but never knew could actually be filled. We could all be such a happy family.
I walk over to the buffet table and grab a plate. I spot crawfish and my belly does somersaults. I brush it off and grab a spoonful. It's my favorite food of all time and it looks delicious so why is my stomach being so weird? I know my condition has some side effects, I just hope nothing is really wrong. I skipped breakfast, so I chalk my funny stomach up to that.
I move back to the glass and watch the rest of the game as I eat. I get through one crawfish and end up putting it off to the side. I reach for my water bottle and watch as Jackson comes back up to the pl
ate.
He struts into the box and bends his knees, preparing for a swing. He turns his body as the first pitch hits him right in the back.
“Shit,” I say, getting to my feet.
Jackson drops the bat arching his back, walking around home plate. He shakes his head, staring daggers at the pitcher.
