RECLUSE

“I need to get cleaned up, Daddy.”

“No. I want you filthy with me, want you to remember who I am to you.”

“As if I could ever forget.” She laughs, but she knows I’m serious. She won’t clean up just yet. “Did Robert say when he’d bring the kids back?”

“You know what Uncle Robert and Auntie Lori are like. They say five o’clock and what they really mean is eight. Or nine.”

I drape my arm around my wife’s shoulders and help her back down the corridor, then through to the kitchen, easing her into one of the chairs as I go to the fridge. I’ll pour her a glass of water, get her a little something to eat, then we’ll sit and read in the living room until the kids get home. The Velveteen Rabbit is what we are reading now for the thousandth time. I found a signed first edition and gave it to her on our one-year anniversary.

It’s the same routine most Saturdays, with Robert and Lori taking them. They married eight years ago and they’ve never been happier.

Unfortunately, they found they couldn’t have kids of their own, but they love ours and they’re looking into adopting. It’s just been a hard road with Robert’s conviction hanging over them. But they’ll get there, I know they will. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

I lean out through the back door. “Bear. Heel. Good boy.”

Bear gets up lazily from his bed in the second porch we added to the back of the house. It’s where he likes to sleep, preferring to be closer to the outdoors, but he needs the warmth of the house too. He’s ten years old, but I ask the good Lord every day to give us another ten at least.

“Good boy.” Melanie reaches out and fusses the top of his head, then scratches under his chin. “Have you seen Peaches? She’s normally sharing your bed by this time of the afternoon.”

“You sit there, little Goldilocks, let me get you some water and food, and then I’ll find Peaches and Belle. They must be getting hungry by now.”

Peaches took well to the cancer treatment, and even all these years later you wouldn’t think there was ever anything wrong with her. Sometimes I wonder if she’ll outlive us all. But a year ago there was a kitten at the shelter where Lori still works, and she desperately needed a home. She was blind, and only had three legs, and they were struggling to adopt her out.

  So, we took her in.

Peaches and Belle immediately took to each other, Peaches becoming like a surrogate mother, loving the kitten as if she was her own. The two of them have been inseparable ever since. If anything, it’s given Peaches a reason to stay young and fit, to keep up with her adopted daughter.

As I fix a sandwich for Melanie, I check my phone on the kitchen counter. It’s not something I ever wanted, but Melanie and Robert sat me down one day, just before Sam started school, and insisted that I needed to get a cell phone. It’s a nod to modern life, and I still forget to charge it now and then, but I have to admit it’s been useful to have it around.

Some of the charitable foundations I’ve set up need to contact me from time to time, to check how I want things done, and it’s easier to get hold of me on the phone, now that the company has installed a new mast that gives us coverage, than to come out here to the cabin.

Right now though, there’s a message from John Law, the husband of Melanie’s friend Nick. He’s on the PTA, same as me, and runs one of the after-school clubs, teaching archery. Nick and John have a daughter, Felicity, who goes to the same school as Sam and Anita, and, well, John and I have become friends. I never thought I’d be able to say that, but it’s true. One friend is enough for me, but it makes things easier when Nick and Melanie want to get together.

“John wants to know if we’re free next Wednesday. Him and Nick are having a barbecue for Felicity’s sixth birthday.”

Melanie fixes me with a stare, raising an eyebrow. “And you want to go?”

“We could stay for an hour or two.” I shrug.

“Vincent Weber, well I never expected this. There will be other people, you know, not just Nick and John.”

“I know. I’m not saying we’ll stay the whole time, but we could look in.”

She stands and comes over to me, wrapping her arms around my waist. “You’re almost civilized, Daddy. Only took a decade but look at you now.”

“Almost,” I laugh, kissing the top of her head. “I love you, baby girl.”

She smiles and nods against my chest. “You set my world straight again, gave me a family and the happiest life. I’ll always love you. Today, tomorrow, for the rest of our lives. I’m so glad I fell into your life that day and almost got licked to death by your monstrous dog.” She laughs, leaning down to run her knuckles through Bear’s fur, but I just nod.

“We’ve found our just right, baby. Now let’s get you some water and food. I’m thinking we might get in another round before we read.”

“Daddy knows best,” she says with a grin.

And I feel the pride swell in my chest. My perfect, sweet little girl. My Goldilocks. Mine today. Mine tomorrow.

Mine, to love and cherish, for the rest of our lives.

  ONE SHOT

  Excerpt…

Her face twists with pain, but when she opens her eyes, they are lit with pleasure.

I hold myself steady, muscles tense, ready to drive balls deep into her but it’s not just her body I want, it’s her heart and I need her to know I’m not just looking for a place for the first hole my dick could find.

“You okay, baby?” I hold myself on locked arms above her as she squirms.

“Yes. And no.” Her head pushes back into the pillow as her walls clutch and choke the tip of my cock to the point of pain. “I just want it all. Inside me.”

  “Me too. Hold on baby…”

Her hands pull at the back of my neck as she arches and drives her hips forward, taking more of me as I hold myself steady. I hold my breath as she does it again and again, and it’s so fucking hot watching her take what she wants. Soon, she’s dripping, drenching me, and her eyes go wide again, then she stops, her body tensing.

“What is it?” I manage through gritted teeth.

“I just…” She closes her eyes for a moment and I kiss her forehead. Holding myself half inside her like this is fucking torture, but I’m not going to fuck her when her mind is somewhere else.

“Tell me. Whatever it is I want to know.”

Her lips tighten before she spills. “You need to know, like when I…” A pause, her opening pulsing around me and I think I’m going to lose my fucking mind. “When I… You know,” she lowers her voice to a whisper, “come…I’m sort of a…I guess they call it a squirter.”

  Score.

Fuck yes. I may be a virgin, but I know what a squirter is—and I just won the lottery.

  About Nikolai

Nikolai Andrew has been writing stories as far back as he can remember. His elementary school teachers used to have him stay after class to try to explain some of his more creative work but with a to-die-for smile and wisdom beyond his years, he always managed to charm his way out of trouble. Not mu
ch has changed, except he’s now found an outlet for his stories where he can show off a bit of his darkness, a dash of dominance and a sprig of hopeless romantic topped with a whole helping of hot.

When he’s not writing, he’s playing with his many aquariums, searching for rocks, enjoying cheap vodka and making waitresses blush. He’s got a penchant for vintage Playboy’s and Vargas girls and a weakness for giving out spankings and cookies. Drop him a line anytime. He loves to hear from readers. Especially their own ideas on what he should write next.
