He walked ever so slowly, and it felt as though time stopped one step… two steps… three steps… Once he was about 5 feet away, the young fox-kin girl used this moment and stood up hastily.

A shining object shined in her hands as she struck down at Randy, no one even had time to react before blood spurted throughout the halls.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH" Randy screamed and covered his shoulder that was bleeding profusely.

The girl tackled Randy and stabbed once again on his other shoulder, then on his right thigh, and his arm.

"GUARDS, HELP…. ANYONE AHHHHHHH," Randy's screams echoed throughout the entire hall.

"SOMEONE HELP MY SON!" a middle-aged voice roared out at this time.

Caesar turned back ever so slowly and looked down at this scene with cold eyes. The young girl was crying a river while stabbing down.

  "You bastard!"

  "This is for raping me!"

"This is for killing my mother."

  "For my father!"

Her screeches echoed in everyone's ears, causing the guards to halt their steps and just watch on.

Soon Randy's screams stopped and just the sound of a knife puncturing skin entered into the ears of everyone present, the young girl abruptly stopped stabbing and threw the blade on the floor.

She stood up and looked at everyone with hatred reflected in her eyes.

"I lived through hell, many people have looked at me with pity, sadness, anger, helplessness, but I hated it all… I NEVER WANTED SOMEONE'S PITY. I WANTED THEIR HELP"

She choked on her tears and continued…

"I waited for so long. I lived just for the thought of finally being able to gain my vengeance…"

The people in the hall had their tongues tied; she was right. They didn't do anything in fear of retaliation.

"There are so many that are like me, that live in hell while all of you have these parties to celebrate. What about us? Does anyone care about us?" The young girl continued to rant to all those nearby.

"Don't you hate it? My father told me stories of the glorious heroes and saints, but how come they never stopped slavery? How come they didn't come and save me?"

The young girl spilled out her grievances while choking on tears, Renee suddenly ran towards her and hugged her tightly… "It's okay now," she said soothingly in her ear.

The scene of a beautiful purple-haired fox kin hugging a bloodied white-haired younger fox-kin created a peculiar picture.

The girl cried on Renee's shoulders, dirtying her dress.

"CAN YOU STOP WATCHING AND HURRY UP AND ARREST THIS WHORE?" a furious middle-aged man stomped forward.

Caesar shook his head, and subtly walked to where the knife was thrown and picked it up, he stashed it in his pocket and blocked the young girl.

"I will deliver proper judgment towards this young lass, I will be taking her to the prison now," He said with a serious tone directed at the middle-aged man.

Renee looked at Caesar, shocked, and the middle-aged man finally stopped moving, "fine! I expect to see her head on the city gates tomorrow morning," he yelled and walked out of the halls.

Caesar escorted both Renee and the young girl through the hall and went inside the hallway that he and Renee had come through at the start of the party.

Crowley soon cleared his throat loudly, "the grand ball has been interrupted, but, do not let that stop you from continuing to drink."

The rest of the people present stayed for a few more minutes, but soon the halls became empty, and everyone left. No one wanted to stay in that dark atmosphere.

Randy's body was cleaned up by Sebastian and a few other guards.

  ---

Caesar escorted the two girls to his room and locked the door behind him. Renee sat down on the bed with the young fox-kin and whispered soothing words.

After the girl calmed down, Caesar finally couldn't help but ask, "what is your name?"

"Adriana," The girl replied after a few seconds of hesitation.

Caesar nodded his head, "I will let you two talk alone, I have some things I need to take care of," Caesar said with a wide smile and stepped out of the room.

"Young master, I have prepared the location and information on the entire Rudolph family."

Caesar smiled coldly and took the papers from Sebastian's hands. He walked while reading, "I have some loose ends to clean up," he thought inwardly.

The sound of his and Sebastian's cold but steady footsteps were the only things that could be heard in the palace that night.

  CHAPTER NINETEEN

Caesar and Sebastian walked through the dimmed hallways in silence. Caesar was studying the papers Sebastian had given him with great interest.

"Young master, you are leaving the kingdom soon… are you sure it's a good idea to destroy the Rudolph household?"

Caesar's feet paused, and he turned to glance at Sebastian "the kingdom is currently on shaky ground as it is, If I destroy the Rudolph household the other nobles will get worried that they might be next."

Sebastian nodded his head slowly. "Indeed, that would destroy any chances that Rahvin kingdom had of becoming perfectly united."

"Precisely, that is why we will not be the ones to destroy his house" muffled laughter escaped from Caesar's lips as he started to shred the piece of paper in his hands.

Sebastian stood still frozen for a few seconds before finally catching up to Caesar with rushed footsteps… "how are you going to accomplish that, young master?" he asked curiously.

"To keep the prestige of the nobles, the past king had covered up many of the atrocities committed by their family…"

  Caesar paused and continued.

"If the citizens themselves started an uprising to destroy the Rudolph household, who would stop them?"

"B-but, young master… there are guards stationed at Rudolph household," Sebastian said worriedly.

"Do you know who I am?" Caesar asked a question instead of answering.

"The Marshall…" Sebastian replied after thinking for a few seconds.

Caesar smiled widely and entered into a random study. He opened the drawers and grabbed a small piece of paper, he wrote some things on the piece of paper and handed it to Sebastian.

"Spread the things written on here to the maids and citizens at the best of your ability, don't let anyone suspect you," Caesar said quietly.

Sebastian bowed earnestly and took the piece of paper from Caesar's hands "as you command, young master," Sebastian replied respectfully and quickly rushed out of the study room.

Once Sebastian left the room, Caesar, soon followed. He walked back towards his room and stood in front of his door.

Caesar stepped inside and locked the door behind him, he shifted his gaze towards the bed, and a cute scene was reflected in his eyes.

Renee was rubbing the little girl's hair, and Adriana was looking at Caesar warily.

Caesar shook his head wryly and walked towards his desk; he sat down on the chair and folded his legs.

"There were many that were enslaved with you right?" Caesar asked after sitting in silence for a moment.

"O-of course, you have to save them!" the girl pleaded after being reminded of her friends that were still trapped.

Caesar tapped the desk slowly, "when a noble dies, do you know what happens to their owned slaves?"

"They are killed…" Renee muttered out from the bed.

Adriana looked at Renee with shock, "t-that can't be… I was just with them" Tears started spilling out from her eyes.

Caesar got up from the chair and peered into Adriana's eyes… "they are probably not dead yet, something big will happen tomorrow. During that time, you can release the slaves locked inside. Of course, it is dependent on your skills," Caesar said slowly.

Adriana's eyes lit up "I know where the cells are hidden. I'll do it!" She said excitedly.

"Alright, go wash for now… get some rest and make sure you are prepared for tomorrow," Caesar said sternly and pointed at the bathroom. />
Adriana nodded her head sincerely and ran towards the bathroom.

Once she entered into the room, Renee visibly frowned and looked at Caesar angrily.

"You could have done it yourself, why are you making such a young girl do something so dangerous?" she asked with annoyance.

Caesar sat back down on the chair and looked at the ceiling, "If I saved them, they would owe me a debt, a debt they would never feel that they could pay back," Caesar explained calmly and paused for a second.

"If they want true freedom, they need to live for themselves, not someone else… slavery cannot be abolished unless the slaves themselves fight for it."

Renee nodded her head slightly "don't you want to give a lesson to the other nobles to stop slavery forever?" Renee asked curiously.

Caesar shook his head, "Sure, If I tried, I could most certainly abolish slavery in this kingdom… but what happens when I disappear? if no one else wanted it, then won't it just come back?"

Caesar chuckled and walked towards Renee, "A good leader does not only change the present but also secures the future"

Renee looked at the ground in contemplation, "b-but, aren't you going to stay here for a long time anyway?" Renee said, quickly noticing Caesar closing the distance between them.

Once Caesar was just inches away from Renee, he crouched down, and she gazed into his mesmerizing red eyes.

"This kingdom is just a starting point. I'm going to shake this entire world..." Caesar said slyly and moved his face closer to her lips

"T-the world? Where will I be when you reach greater heights?" Renee asked slightly hesitantly

"Of course, you will be my biggest supporter, my right hand, my lover, and of course, my queen," he said slowly and captured her lips.

Caesar's tongue invaded her mouth, and they engaged in a deep kiss for about 10 seconds before the bathroom door opened and interrupted them.

Renee quickly pushed Caesar away and breathed heavily, "A-A-Adriana, you are done so quickly?" Renee said speedily and tidied up her clothes.

Adriana looked back and forth between Caesar and Renee for a few seconds before tilting her head in confusion. "I was in there for quite a while, though?"

"Haha, I have a daughter that is just like you… I will introduce you two one day" Caesar laughed loudly while looking at Adriana.

Adriana tilted her head even further and sat down on the bed, “when will my chance come for infiltrating the Rudolph household?" she abruptly changed the subject and asked while staring straight at Caesar.

"You will know when, Renee will help you as well…" Caesar said after thinking for a second.

"Really?" Adriana asked, surprised, and looked at Renee with expectation.

"Yes!" Renee said with a wide smile.

Caesar nodded his head in appreciation seeing this scene and headed for the door, "I have some more things I need to take care of, remember, there will be no guards stationed at the household… just make sure no one sees who you are," Caesar reminded sternly before walking out the door.

Both Renee and Adriana nodded their heads solemnly.

Once Caesar left the room, Adriana looked at Renee with a smile, "you have a great mate!" she said energetically.

Renee smiled slightly, "thank you," she replied.

"You better be careful, there will be a lot of others that want to steal him from you," Adriana said teasingly.

"Hmph, I won't let any of those wenches steal my man," Renee said ferociously while rubbing Adriana's hair.

  "Hahaha"

Their bright and cheerful laughter loosened the dark mood and set the stage for tomorrow.

  CHAPTER TWENTY

Once Caesar left his room, he immediately walked towards the palace gates, he passed through the empty hallways and the silent halls.

The night watch guarding the gates soon caught sight of Caesar, and confusion filled their eyes. They bowed respectfully and gazed at the ground.

"You may rise," Caesar said calmly.

Both guards raised their heads and looked at Caesar curiously, "what brings you here at this time of night, your highness?" one of them asked after hesitating for a few seconds.

Caesar took out a seal from his left pocket; it was golden yellow and had the mouth of a tiger engraved on it.

"This is the Marshall’s seal. I want you two to leave your post and go inform all forms of the military to report outside of the kingdom gates early this morning."

Shock filled the eyes of the two guards "H-how do you want us to accomplish that your highness?

"Bring this to the ministers located at the barracks of both knights, and archers, I also want the guards of the royal households to attend" Caesar calmly explained.

"What is it for?" both guards couldn't help but ask.

"The new military school is opening up soon. I would like to scout at least ten candidates in which I will personally sponsor…" Caesar said casually and flipped the golden seal into one of the guard's hands.

Caesar walked past them, and his lips curled, "I will reward both of you grandly, that is of course if you can complete this task for me" he said

Both of the knights gulped audibly and looked at the golden seal in their hands with greed, "w-we'll do it!" they said excitedly and rushed out of the gates.

Caesar smiled wryly and also walked out. He headed towards the outskirts of the kingdom to prepare for the thousands of soldiers that will soon arrive.

The moon was high in the sky, illuminating the empty streets beautifully… Caesar ran through the streets at an astonishing pace. Only a blur was left in his wake.

"This is merely the calm before the storm," Caesar whispered under his breath as he moved from house to house.

  ----

The two guards ran as quickly as they could towards the two barracks.

"What do you think the Marshall is going to reward us with Jimmy?"

"I don't know Billy, but we better hurry up if we want to get the entire military to the outskirts of the kingdom by morning," Jimmy said while running.

"How about we split up, I go to the knight barracks, and you go to the archery barracks," Billy suggested.

"Sounds good! Meet back at the Florence pub," Jimmy smiled and said.

  "Deal!"

They both split up and ran like their lives depended on it.

  ----

Caesar soon passed through the outer gates and made it in front of the kingdom, remnants of the last battle were still present.

Caesar walked through the many arrows impaled in the ground and walked to the nearby forest. He touched the bark of a tree and stroked his chin in contemplation.

"I suppose this will do," Caesar said quietly.

Caesar knocked the tree down with his palms; he didn't stop there and quickly moved to the next tree.

Caesar knocked down the trees left, and right, he bundled them together and started making an extensive square outline by lining them up.

And like this, 3 hours slowly passed by…

Caesar was currently in the middle of a vast square arena. Logs of wood were placed on the outlines closing the area off. Sweat trickled down his shirtless body as he breathed out heavily.

Caesar turned around at the sound of footsteps and left the wooded area he created, he stepped outside and saw a long line of drowsy troops walking towards him.

They were scratching their head, looking at the wooden encasement warily.

"Is this a trap?" One of the men said.

"The Marshall made this, is that even a question?" another replied

"The Marshall made it? Then, of course, it's a trap," A man laughed heartily and said while patting a younger troop on the back.

"You must be new here, every time the Marshall calls us you must expect death," a middle-aged man said with a fearful look on his face.

  "D-death?" a young man asked.

"Unfortunately, so, good luck, young man… legend states that if you survive the devil training, your luck with wome
n increased by two folds."

Suddenly determination gleamed in all of the young men's eyes.

"Alright, enough, chatter!" Caesar roared out from the front.
