Made For Each Other

"But first, you both will die, you didn't think we were actually gonna let you live and rat us to the police. Did you?" Larry said with a stupid smirk. "You're funny, but he's right. I'm going to shoot you." She pointed at Shawn who was on the floor in a weakened state, he was badly beaten. I couldn't let him die. As soon as she pulled the trigger, I covered Shawn and ended up taking the bullet. Fuck this burns. Seconds later the police barged in the room, they grabbed and handcuffed them.
"I'm innocent." She yelled. "I'm innocent too." Larry yelled.
Shawn was passed out from the pain. That crazy bitch has the worst aim which I'm thankful for. She shot me in the arm. The police called an ambulance, The pain in my arm was excruciating. I ended up passing out.
I woke up in a hospital bed, next to me was Shawn on another bed. I looked around and didn't see Skye. Minutes later Dad walked in with Emma and Skye was in my dad's arms. He handed me Skye and I hugged her like there was no tomorrow. He told me the police is locking Larry and Laura for many years in prison. The doctor said Shawn had a broken rib and he will need to take it easy while healing. I was just glad that nightmare ended.
"Sissy, you're fine. When I saw you with blood I though I was gonna lose you." She started to cry. "I'm here munchkin, you won't lose me." I gave her a hug.
The next day I was released from the hospital. Shawn had to stay for a week. He whined cause he hated hospitals and the food here. He's like a little kid sometimes.
Two months later
Everything was at peace. Things went back to normal. I was still studying online and chasing Skye around the house. It was our daily routine. Shawn was doing better. He went back to the pet clinic. I also got some news myself. I was pacing like crazy. Meanwhile Skye was watching me while she ate apple puree. Course she made a mess but I was worried about the news I just got.
"I'm home." He announced as he walked to the kitchen. He saw Skye and just chuckled. He went to kiss her forehead than gave me a kiss. "I got news, I'm not sure how you're gonna take it." I started to pace again. Skye just giggled.
"Baby girl, whats wrong?" He asked while pulling me closer to him.
"I'm a month pregnant. I know Skye is still little. You have the pet clinic and I'm still finishing my classes online and is a lot." Tears were falling. I was scared he would leave me. I mean one baby is okay but two is a lot of work. He wiped my tears and then pressed his lips against mine.
"I'm happy. When you told me about Skye I was so freaking happy. I love kids. And I love the fact that the mother of my kids is you. I love you baby girl. You can have twenty babies and I'll be happy." He wiped my tears while smiling.
"I'll give you three. I'll go bananas with twenty." I chuckled while hugging him. “Dada,” we heard a little voice say. We turned to see Skye extending her little arms while her face and even her hair was covered with Apple puree. We just laughed. Shawn picked her up and went to give her a bath. I cleaned the kitchen and then took a shower. I needed a long nap. Between classes and chasing a one year old, I'm left with no energy.
Three years later
Three beautiful years filled with nothing but love and drama free. We had a beautiful boy who is now two years old. His name is Matthew and he is a mini Shawn. Unlike Skye, he doesn't go running naked which is a plus. Chasing toddlers is exhausting.
Skye was four and she loves her little brother so much. She's my mini helper. Shawn's pet clinic was doing great. I was beyond happy for him. I also graduated. Finally, college was over with. I also became that mother who didn't want to leave their kids with someone else. Skye would be starting her first day of kindergarten tomorrow. Matthew was still two and so little. They're so little for so long that I didn't want to miss anything. He suggested once Matthew was in kindergarten I could work. He also said I didn't have to. But I wanted to. I love kids and teaching is something I always wanted to do.
Oh yeah, we also got married last year. It was a simple wedding cause I wasn't a fan of big fancy things. Simple works so much better for me. I was just happy I was finally his wife, never thought I was gonna get married, let alone to Shawn. But life surprises you in the most unexpected way.
Emma was eight and growing so fast. Her health was also good and I was beyond happy. We suffered a lot before having happy days. But having Shawn by my side helped me get through anything.
"Psst mommy,” I heard someone whisper. I looked down to see Skye hugging my leg and wearing a smile.
"Psst what?"
"I love you."
"I love you too, but no cookies before lunch." I said while picking her up. She just sighed. You gotta love her. "I'm home and brought cookies." Shawn announced as he walked to the kitchen and then placed the cookies on the counter. I put Skye on the floor.
"Daddy, I love you." She hugged his leg. He picked her up and gave her a kiss on her forehead. "I love you too, but no cookies before lunch." He chuckled, she just sighed again. Matthew came walking and hugged my leg. "Up." He said while extending his little arms. And that's what I did. Looking at Skye, Shawn and Matthew made me so happy.
"Mommy why are you crying?" I looked at Skye who was still in Shawn's arms. I just smiled and said, "I'm just happy I have a beautiful family. Life smiled at me. I got my rainbow after the storm."
"I'm glad life brought us together." He smiled.
“I am too, I got an amazing husband and he gave me two beautiful kids." I added before placing a soft kiss on his lips. Matthew and Skye just covered their eyes. "If someone asked me if I would change something about my life, I would say no. Cause everything led me right to where I belong, and that's with you and our kids." I smiled as he smiled back.
"I love you so much, Shawn."
"I love you more, baby girl."
Life was a crazy ride for me, then Shawn entered my life and made it better. He saved me from breaking. He will always be my hero, and I'm so glad I get to wake up next to him everyday for the rest of my life. Life truly smiled at me.
