Forbidden Fake Fiance (Forbidden Small Town Bad Boys #1) Page 12

“Josh!” My entire body went taut, and then pleasure flooded everywhere. It was like my cells were all having an orgasm.

“Yes…Allie…so fucking good…” He thrust again, and I felt warmth fill my pussy. He truly was a part of me now. I held on to him, wanting the moment to last forever.

“I love you, I love you…” I chanted as we rode out the storm together.

We spent the evening and night in bed, only getting up to eat. He made love to me on the dining table then.

The next morning, I woke early feeling sore but in a good way. Josh was next to me, naked and perfect.

I slipped from bed, tugging on one of his t-shirts, and then headed out to the kitchen. I figured out how to use his coffee maker, and when I had my cup of coffee, I went to his balcony overlooking the lake. I stood by the railing as I called my father.

  “Allison. You’re calling early.”

  “Sorry.”

  “Is everything okay?” he asked.

“Yes. Perfect.” I was giddy with happiness.

“Does Mr. Dalton have anything to do with the uptake in your mood?”

  “Yes.”

“And you’re calling to ask me to smooth the way for your mother?” He was very astute.

“I love him, and he loves me. That’s all that matters, at least to me.”

“Ah, well, your mother just walked in. Let me put you on speakerphone, and you can tell her that.”

I took a breath, but unlike previous conversations with my mother, where she bowled me over, this time, I would be strong. I felt it in every fiber of my being. I knew who I was and who I wanted. I wouldn’t let her ruin this for me.

“Is that Allison?” I heard her say.

  “Yes,” he said.

“Is she still in a mood?”

“No,” my father said. “She sounds quite happy.”

“Oh God, she’s not with that firefighter, is she?”

“I can hear you mother,” I said. “And yes. I love Josh. He loves me.”

I heard her sigh. “Well, I suppose it’s the in thing these days to have these little affairs.”

“It’s not an affair, mother.” I didn’t know where Josh I would end up, but I knew it was more than just an affair.

  “Allison, he’s—”

“Good, kind, brave, sweet, and I love him. You’re going to have to accept that. Accept him.”

“Darling, I suspect that you should listen. If you force her to choose, we’ll likely lose,” my father said to my mother.

“Choose what?” I heard Victoria say.

“Your sister is taking up with the fireman,” my mother said in that snotty tone of hers.

“Oh, yay,” Victoria said. “He’s hot. Does he have a brother?”

  “Victoria!” my mother chastised.

  “He does. He’s a sheriff’s deputy,” I said.

  “Is he cute?”

“Oh my god,” my mother said. “What are we going to do?”

“He is,” I confirmed. I wondered what Wyatt would think of Victoria.

I felt hands slide around my waist, and Josh’s head rested on my shoulder. “Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair, and Victoria.” Then he nuzzled my cheek. “Good morning, Allie.”

  Warmth spread through me.

Victoria laughed. “Poor mom is about to have a seizure.”

“Are you happy, Allison?” my father asked.

  “Incandescently.”

“Well then, we can’t ask for more than that, can we, dear?” my father said.

My mother didn’t say anything, but I could imagine she was glaring at my father.

“Give it time, Allison. She’ll come around,” Victoria said. “I went out with a biker last night.”

“Oh, heaven help me,” my mother moaned.

Josh slid his hand between my thighs and began to massage my clit.

“I’ve got to go.” I snapped the phone shut and turned in his arms.

“Everything alright at home?” he asked.

We talked some last night about the situation with my parents, and I assured him I wouldn’t let my mother come between us. He said he didn’t care what they said as long as I loved him.

“Yes, but I’ve got an ache that only you can soothe.”

He grinned and dropped to his knees.

“Oh God…here?” I looked around to see if other people were up and on their balconies. But the minute Josh’s mouth was there, I could only feel him and his love.

For the next week, I was completely immersed in Josh when we weren’t working. Sometimes he’d stay at my place and sometimes I would be at his. I didn’t care where I was, as long as he was with me.

On our one week anniversary, Josh made me dinner and set it up on his balcony overlooking the lake. It was so sweet and romantic, just like him. When the food was finished, he pulled me onto his lap in his lounge chair. The evening was perfect. Warm air. Stars twinkling. The smell of pine and Josh.

“Who do you think has a better view, me or you?” he asked, wrapping his arms around me as I settled against him.

  “You, for sure.”

“I think so too. How about beds? Is my bed better or yours?”

“Yours. It’s bigger,” I said, curious about this game.

  “What about the couches?”

“Mine.” I turned my head to look at him.

“I have a bigger kitchen,” he said.

“Yes, but I have better plates. Is this a contest?”

He laughed and kissed me. “I was thinking maybe we could consolidate the best of our places into one place.”

  My breath caught.

He pushed my hair back. “I love you, Allie. That’s not going to change, so there’s no reason to have two places. I want you to move your couch and plates into my place. I want you to live with me.”

“Oh…Josh.” Tears of happiness sprang to my eyes. “Yes. Yes.” I kissed him, feeling happier than I’d ever had before. After we’d made love, we went over to my place, packed up my couch and dishes, and I moved in with him. My mother would have a fit, and I didn’t care, because the first morning after I’d moved in, I woke feeling like I was finally home.

I put my condo up for sale as soon as I could get a Realtor to respond to me, and it sold within two weeks. There was no turning back now. My father was concerned it was too much too soon, but I was tired of playing it safe. Being with Josh felt right. The rightest thing I’d ever done.

This weekend, Josh and I took a trip to my parents' beach house, and to my mom’s credit, she was civil, at least in front of him. But it made me hopeful that all would work out.

We got back late last night, so I slept in this morning. Josh was up when I woke. I tugged on one of his firemen shirts because it turned him on, and made my way toward the kitchen.

“Yes, mom, I still have the ring,” I heard Josh say.

I stopped short, not wanting to interrupt the call with his mother. Then again, he frequently interrupted the calls with my parents.

“Well, I want to keep it,” he replied to whatever his mother said. There was another pause. “Not right now, but if Wyatt is okay with it, I plan to give it to Allie someday.”

My heart jumped in my chest, and I covered my mouth to stop the squeal of joy.

“Someday soon. A real engagement this time,” he said. After another pause, he laughed. “Babies will come later, mom. Listen, I’ve gotta go. I love you, mom.”

I hurried back to the room and took his shirt off, throwing myself back in bed. Just as I got the covers over me, Josh entered the room.

“Are you ever going to get up?” He leaned against the doorframe with his signature sexy smile.

“Maybe. I might just stay here forever.” When it left my mouth, I worried he’d know I’d heard him.

He smiled, and tugged his shirt off, shoved down his shorts, and then climbed on the bed over me. “Can I join you?”

I looped my arms around his neck. “I wish you would.”
<
br />   “Here forever, huh?” He settled his hips over mine.

I nodded and tried to look innocent.

“I like that idea.” He dipped his head and kissed me. As far as I was concerned, that sealed the deal.
