An Image of the Moment

A dystopian story of a man and his country falling into a slow-motion crisis.A second person narrator is on a train - a seemingly normal working day in the near-future. He is alone in a carriage, reading a newspaper, ignoring the changes - domestic and abroad - all around him. He is joined by a stranger, who is wearing a fedora, a scarf - which covers his mouth and ears - and a pair of dark glasses. The stranger is also holding a purple balloon.
