The Initiative: Book One of the Jannah Cycle
by D. Brumbley
What would make you leave your world and your life behind?
A new world? Hope? Love?
Earth is a dying planet.
Life in Orbit is life in a cage.
The planet Jannah offers universal hope.
What would be worth the risk?
On Earth, Anna Prince and Logan Bickford wrestle with whether or not to join the Jannah Initiative, leaving their families and everything they know to colonize the planet that could save the human race. They have mere weeks to make their choice, against a backdrop of long-buried feelings for each other, the objections of their families, and their growing suspicion of the Initiative’s leaders and true purpose.
In Orbit, Dr. Mercury Finnegan and Lieutenant Orion Al-Jabbar work on final preparations for their own entry into the Initiative, having worked toward such an honor all their lives. Newly-paired by the Match program in Orbit, they must learn quickly how to navigate a new relationship and confront the reality that their lifelong dreams may be darker than they once believed.
Jannah offers a solution to the problems that plague and divide humanity, but with so much about the project still unknown, it’s difficult for anyone to gauge the risks. As more is revealed about humanity’s future home, each member of the Initiative must discover the cost of paradise for themselves, and decide if it is worth the price.
