Garran Holt is a troubled young man. Unable to tolerate his self-destructive ways, his mother sells him into indentured servitude as part of work crew building the King Remiel’s new trade road. When mercenaries sent to disrupt the road’s construction attacks his work camp, Garran discovers an inner power capable of turning him into a warrior of unparalleled ability. Recognizing Garran as being one of the transcended (a fighter able to slip into the swifter currents of time), he is trained as an agent, one of the kingdom’s elite spies. Crude, abrasive, and deeply committed to destroying himself with drugs, alcohol, and debauchery, Garran might be the kingdom’s only hope against falling to The Guild, the powerful trade cartel bent on becoming the true and undisputed power in the land.Review4.0 out of 5 stars ... the sorcerer's series and this book was hilarious and fun to read, December 12, 2014By Johnny Lange - See all my reviewsThis review is from: The Miscreant (The Transcended Chronicles Book 1) (Kindle Edition)I have read all of his previous books in the sorcerer's series and this book was hilarious and fun to read, I only gave the book 4 stars because while it was hilarious the protagonist is slightly self-destructive which makes some of this almost unbelievable because the abuse he is putting his body through shouldn't equate to a lot of physical activity, but that is only a minor flaw. The conversations and pranks he plays are a good read and i found myself laughing a lot at what was said. From the AuthorWho is Garran Holt? Garran is a young man from a broken, abusive home. His experiences have bent him into a person of severe vices, depraved behavior, and a sense of self-protection that is most often displayed as deep selfishness. Garran's psychological issues plum the deepest depths of human failure, yet even in that darkness there is a tiny ember of redemption that he hides from the world so as not to illuminate the slightest vulnerability. The Miscreant is intended as a romp full of crude humor and an outrageous character. Some language and innuendos are not suitable for all readers.
