The Prince & The Rogue

Due to the sudden death of Lady Christine and the deep depression her father went into soon after, Catherine Townsend is carted off to live with her mother's family quickly learning that her arrival is not one of welcome.  It's not long after; Catherine soon realizes that her spoiled cousin Devan thrives on making  her life miserable.  And as if being at constant odds with him isn't enough, she finds herself shunned as an outcast among the children of so-called, polite society. After years of being the brunt of cruel jokes, Catherine's aunt demands she attend a soiree.  Not only is she to attend, but she's also told she must put to rest the embarrassing rumors that seem to constantly surround her. Rumors that London’s darlings, Lady Hilary and Lady Florence, her two worst enemies are sure to be responsible for. During the course of the evening's events, Catherine finds herself stumbling upon a private romp and flees in a hasty retreat for fear of being discovered. Eric Rycroft, is a prince, and London's most eligible bachelor.  Only recently returned after being abroad for the past eight years, the last thing he wants to do is attend a boring party with mother's shoving their daughters in his face.  Only to please his aunt, does he reluctantly agree.  As Eric contemplates an early escape, he bumps into Albert Ashbury, who in turn begs for help to search out a noisy busy-body that unexpectedly interrupted his private tryst, which if revealed, could mean the ruin of his marriage.  On the verge of refusing and sending the young fop off with a sound chastising, Eric decides that a game of cat and mouse might actually be a fun way to past the time of what was sure to be a long and dull evening. It's not until Eric spots his prey across the ballroom floor, that he finds himself intrigued by the golden minx and a rogue's plans are set into motion.
