*OMG!!! What an absolutely delightful book!Ms. BIggar is one of my favorite authors. Her wonderful ways of telling a story are just amazing and in the storytelling part, this novella does not disappoint.
Matt is in a huge high stakes poker game! He starts to think his luck is running out when he suddenly wins the entire pot only to find out the other main player can't pay Matt the money that he just won! So a deal is struck! The old man has given Matt his daughter for one week. During the upcoming week she is to return to his ranch in Texas with him and pretend to be his fiancée (to make his ailing grandmother happy). Trouble is Cassandra is 1) livid with both her dad and Matt and in no mood to play nice 2) she's set to marry Jeff in two weeks and has no time for a week in Texas and 3) she doesn't appear to be able to stand to be around Matt so how can they possibly pull off this deception in front of his grandmother!
This story is Laugh out loud funny at times and heartwarmingly tender at others! Both Matt and Cassandra have suffered a lot growing up, have overcome a lot and seem to have such high hopes for their respective futures. But first they just need to get through one measly week without killing each other! But can they? I can't recommend this novella highly enough - it's so worth 1-clicking then snuggling up on the couch to just get lost in and ENJOY!*

What happens when two people are thrown together for the sake of their respective families?
I had a lot of fun writing about Matt and Cassandra. Both have type 'A' personalities and it causes plenty of friction, but at the same time they are warm and caring and only want to do the best they can for their families; even if it means posing as a couple!
This is a funny, heartwarming romance that will leave you smiling.
