In a post-apocalyptic world, 4,000 years into the future, Captain Senaya is the first of the Jaru military forces to arrive at the far northern temple of the imposter deity, Queen Nouei. Senaya knows her task, arrest and force the queen to recant her blasphemous claims to divinity. Resistance is expected to be minimal. The Queen’s forces have been soundly defeated and she is vulnerable. For a seasoned operative like Captain Senaya, arresting a weak queen should not be a problem. But then, why is it?
