Taste Of Love: Chapter OneMadison looked in the mirror as she brushed her long brown hair, gathering it all in one hand. She put the brush down, and after a series of twists and turns, her hair was in the ever present sloppy bun that she always wore to work.Chapter Two"Tate, can you get me a Cosmo, please?" Madison asked the bartender as she took a seat on one of the stools. The dinner crowd had thinned out and there were only a few tables left, so she took leave of the kitchen. She was rubbing her temples with her head down when she sensed someone sit next to her.Chapter ThreeOh no, I'm going to be sick! was the first coherent thought that ran through Madison's head the next morning. She threw back the covers and made a mad dash for the bathroom. She almost ran into the door on her way there; she was wildly dizzy. She grabbed at the doorknob, then at the toilet, trying not to fall forward.Chapter Four"Guys, you need to pay attention to what you're doing. This is the third dish that I've stopped from being served because it looks like shit," Madison snapped at her kitchen staff. "You've all been here long enough to know that dishes that show this poorly are absolutely unacceptable!"Chapter FiveThe next two weeks were tough on Cameron. Madison's pregnancy was always in the back of his mind, and he wondered if it truly was his. From everything that his mother said about her the night they had gone to The TigerLily, she appeared to be a very stand-up woman. Would she really lie about something like a pregnancy?Chapter SixMadison was released from the hospital the next day under strict orders from her doctor to take it easy. Austin walked by her side as a nurse pushed her wheelchair to the front doors, where a taxi was waiting for them. Madison had a moment of wondering what it would have been like to be pushed to those doors with a baby in her arms. Neither one said a word, both feeling the solemnity of the moment.Chapter SevenMadison scanned the packed dining room as she made her way out of the kitchen to greet her customers. She sure had a full house, and what pleased her the most was that most of the faces were new to her. Most, except one very familiar table. Before she could turn around and seek refuge in the kitchen, she was spotted and waved over.Chapter EightMadison excused herself from Thomas after getting directions to the powder room. With the door in sight, she thought she heard her name and turned to see who called her. A genuine smile graced her face. "Well hello, Bunny. I haven't seen you all night."Chapter NineBunny's party was interesting for Madison, to say the least. She was having a great time meeting people and dancing with Thomas, but one small thing bothered her. Any time that Cameron got close to them, Thomas would pull Madison in the opposite direction, saying he saw someone she had to meet. And of course, there would always be someone to introduce her to, but Madison saw the truth behind his efforts to keep her and Cameron apart.Chapter TenMadison was rinsing suds out of the large garden tub in her bathroom when she thought she heard a knocking sound. She turned the water off and listened closer. This time, she heard it. Now it was more of a pounding.Chapter ElevenWork seemed to consume Madison, and she was getting less and less sleep because of it. They had decided to change their hours, now closing an hour later to accommodate the increase in business. She was also losing weight from being on the go all the time.Chapter Twelve"So what are the plans for today?" Madison asked as they carried her luggage into the hotel and up to the room. Madison looked around as they walked, impressed with the lobby and all of the furnishings in the hotel. It was obviously a five star hotel, the type she wasn't used to staying in. Before her restaurant had become a success, she lived a middle class lifestyle. And now that the money was rolling in from The TigerLily, she hadn't really had time to indulge in any luxuries.Chapter ThirteenAs she stood in the shower, letting the hot water cascade down her shoulders and back, Madison could barely remember getting to the hotel in Chicago the night before. She remembered falling asleep in the back of the bus with Cameron, and there were vague images of him carrying her through the lobby to the elevator, then laying her on the bed in her room.Chapter FourteenAfter Cameron had carried Madison's sleeping form to bed, he lay there watching her for a while. Taking in the features of her face, he knew without a doubt she was the most beautiful woman he had ever known. His finger traced the spots he loved; her eyebrows, her nose, her cheek bones, her jaw bone, and most importantly, lips that were red and swollen from their kissing.Chapter FifteenThe concert was amazing. Cameron went out for two encores, pleasing the very loud hometown crowd. Madison was so proud to look up at the stage and know that her boyfriend was the one they were screaming for; he was the one that brought them all to their feet.Chapter SixteenWhen Madison walked out of the restaurant that night, Cameron was there waiting for her. "What are you doing here?" she asked, pleasantly surprised.Other Books By Stephanie Nicole
