The Plenty takes place within a twenty-four hour period, beginning ten years after Ray Marak learned that Josh Werther is the biological father of Ethan. Ray Marak, no longer bankrupt but thriving, concerns himself with the succession of the farm, intending to divide the property between Jacob and Ethan. A brothers feud begins when Ethan returns from college and learns that Jacob, running wild during his senior year of high school, has crossed a line. Likewise, Josh Werther's vices before marriage resurface, resulting in tragedy that will rock the town. In the middle of it all, Renee Marak, a torn mother, tries to hold both families together.
