I didn’t want a moment like this to ruin his perception of me.
When the water ran cold, I got up and left my clothes in the bathtub as it drained. There was a robe on the back of the door, so I pulled that on over my naked body and stepped into Parker’s bedroom.
He was lying on the bed, reading on his iPad. The second he realized I was there, his eyes darted to my face, watching me stoically.
It was awkward, to say the least. I didn’t want to talk about my mom, my dad, or the fact that I almost killed myself running off into the snow.
“Sweetheart.” His voice was gentle, completely the opposite of what it usually was when we trained together.
A slave to his words, I turned toward him.
He tossed the iPad aside then patted the bed beside him. “Come here.”
I crossed my arms over my chest and approached the bed.
He pulled the covers back then grabbed my wrist, gently pulling me toward him.
I moved with the motion. “I’m fine. Really.”
“Okay.” His eyes said otherwise.
“No, really. I am. I just—”
“Shh.” He wore his usual sweatpants and t-shirt, and he pulled me flush against his body, face-to-face.
He stared into my eyes without blinking, searching my gaze like he would find something there. His arm slid around my waist, anchoring me to him. The brown eyes I’d grown fond of were darker than usual and I could read the guilt on his face. He thought this was all his fault. Parker ran his fingers through my hair. “I wish it weren’t the truth.”
“I know.” I sighed heavily, resting my head on his bicep.
“I know you don’t feel like talking or doing anything right now. But I’m here whenever you’re ready.”
I would never be ready, but I appreciated the thought. “Thanks.”
Parker snuggled close to me.
I could have headed back to my room, but I didn’t want to. No matter how bad I felt, I wanted to be with him. Sleeping in a warm bed with a man I was starting to love was the best feeling in the world.
There was nowhere else I’d rather be.
Chapter 12
Instead of returning to our schedules of training and education, Parker spent the following week doing other things with me. He took me skiing on the Alps and we went shopping in town. He even gave Jana the night off so we could cook dinner together.
And every night, I slept in his bed.
Thankfully, he didn’t bring up my mom or my dad. He pretended it never happened, which I appreciated. Instead, he acted like there wasn’t a care in the world for either one of us.
We were in front of the fire in the living room, our backs on the rug and our feet on the hearth. Parker lay beside me, his glass of white wine on the hardwood floor.
I was a little buzzed from the booze as I counted the beams in the ceiling. There were nine. “What’s it like in the summer?”
“Just as beautiful...but in a different way.”
“Different how?”
“Well, there’s no snow, so the mountains are green and lush.”
I raised an eyebrow and turned to him. “Does it look like Ireland?”
His lips stretched in amusement. “I guess.”
“Have you been to Ireland?”
He dipped his chin once. “Yes.”
“Do they have a lot of four-leaf clovers?” I laughed at my own joke even though it wasn’t funny. For some reason, everything seemed funny.
“I’ve actually never seen one. But I’ve seen three-leaf clovers.”
I shook my head and recounted the beams. This time there were ten. “Loser…”
He gave me a playful shove. “You’re fun when you’re drunk.”
“I’m not drunk.” That was total bullshit. My ears were warm, and my cheeks felt numb.
“Yeah?” he asked. “What’s the capital of Sweden?”
“Uh…” I searched my brain but couldn’t come up with the answer.
He smiled triumphantly. “Totally wasted.”
“No. I wouldn’t know the answer even if I were sober.”
“Ha!” He pointed his finger at me. “So, you are drunk.”
I realized what I said after it was too late. “What? No. That’s not what I meant.”
He chuckled and took a sip of his wine. “That’s what you said.”
“Dammit…”
“You are a party girl, after all…”
“Do you know the capital of Sweden?” It was useless trivia. Knowing the capital of a country didn’t really mean anything unless you were on Jeopardy.
“Stockholm.”
He could have been lying but I wouldn’t know, so it was stupid to ask that question.
“What’s the capital of Massachusetts?”
“Uh…” Shit, I didn’t know this one either. How could I not know this?
He shook his head. “I’m officially judging you.”
“Look, I do know. Just give me a second…” I rubbed my lips tightly together as I tried to think.
“Boston.” He grinned while trying not to laugh. “Just to save you some time.”
“You’re such a jerk.”
“For testing your knowledge?” he asked incredulously. “You must have really hated your teachers.”
“Actually, I did.” I sat up and leaned over him, my body taking charge while my mind took the back seat.
Parker’s smile faded, and his eyes grew hungry as he stared up at me.
“You know the one thing I miss from home?”
His eyes moved to my lips. “What?”
“Frozen burritos.”
The grin was back on his lips. “You don’t like Jana’s authentic cooking?”
I scrunched up my nose. “It’s too healthy.”
He kissed my nose then wrapped his arms around my back. “You’re right. How gross.”
I giggled, and my hair touched his shoulder before I pressed my lips to his and kissed him. Alcohol lowered my inhibitions significantly, and my natural instincts took over. I was in such a dark place, and Parker was the only light in my life. He made the burden so much easier. He kept the nightmares away when I slept, and he chased the painful thoughts away during the day. Without even realizing what was happening I’d completely fallen for him, and he’d somehow become my best friend.
Parker took a deep breath when he felt my mouth against his. I wanted to feel that burning desire, that violent chemistry that emerged whenever we were joined. There was a connection between us, and whenever I felt it, I was whole.
When he kissed me back, my whole body lit up in flames. His lips moved against mine slowly, like always. He took his time, making each lick and nip purposeful. His hand reached into my hair and anchored me to him, deepening the kiss until the temperature between us rose to a scorching level.
My legs moved to either side of his hips, and my hair formed a curtain around him. With my chest pressed to his, our hips were perfectly aligned, so I could feel the bulge in his jeans.
Instinctively, I pressed up against him, but I wanted to do more than that.
I rolled to my back and pulled him with me, wanting him on top. The fire in the hearth still burned, and the flames crackled and popped. Jana’s room was on the other side of the house, so we had the privacy we needed to dive head first into a passionate night. I wanted to forget about the rest of the world and only focus on him. Anytime I was with Parker, I felt better. Feeling him inside me—connecting our minds and bodies together—was exactly what I needed.
He kissed me harder as he held himself over me. One hand slide over my hip and he squeezed it gently before he moved to my thigh. He parted my lips with his tongue and gave me a new realm of pleasure.
Parker was the best kisser I’d ever been with. He knew when to take things slow, and when to increase the pace. He gave me just the right amount of tongue without overdoing it. His experience was evident in every move he made.
I breathed into his mouth and dug my na
ils into his back. “Make love to me, Parker.”
His entire body stiffened at my words, and he broke our kiss. His face was still pressed to mine, and he looked into my eyes with the same desire that was there just moments before. Only this time, I knew he was weighing the significance of my words.
I was tired of pushing him away and locking my heart in a safe. If he broke my heart tomorrow, I would deal with it then. Right now, I just wanted him—every inch of him.
Parker gave me a long kiss before he lifted me into his arms and carried me up the stairs to his bedroom. As soon as we were hidden away in his bedroom, he laid me down on the bedspread and looked me over from head to toe.
My entire body was burning in flames even though we hadn’t even begun yet. I wanted him to take me aggressively and give me so much pleasure there was no room left for pain.
I propped myself up on my arms and watched as he unbuttoned my jeans and pulled them down. When my jeans were off, he lifted one leg and placed it over his shoulder. Then he kissed my inner thigh, pressing his soft lips against my skin.
No one had ever kissed me like that, and I loved it. My back arched in pleasure, and I released a musical sigh.
He switched legs and did the same to the other.
I knew I was in for a treat before we even got to the good stuff. Just his kisses alone put every man I’d ever been with to shame.
He reached for my shirt next and pulled it off. I was just in my bra, and his eyes immediately went to my tits. He leaned over me until I was flat on the bed then pressed a kiss in the valley between them before he covered my hot skin with kisses once more.
My fingers dug into his hair, and I released an involuntary moan. I already knew he could do amazing things with his mouth, and I desperately wanted his lips between my legs. “Please, Parker.”
A soft moan erupted from deep in his throat. It was quiet, like the distant hum from a bird outside the window. I wasn’t even sure if I heard it. His thick cock pressed right against me, and I knew he wanted me.
I pulled him up to my mouth and gently sucked his bottom lip. When I couldn’t hold out any longer, I grinded against him gently, enticing him. “Make me feel good.”
“I will, sweetheart.” He released a strained breath as he held himself over me. “I promise.”
Parker dragged his hand down my torso until his fingers found the moisture between my legs. He breathed hard, like it was becoming more difficult to go slow. His lips didn’t stray from mine as he played with my pussy, teasing me in the most wonderfully torturous ways. He kissed me slowly, his pace matching the lazy but purposeful movement of his fingers. Just before I had to beg for more, two of his fingers slipped inside me while his thumb worked my nub. Like an expert, he used the right pressure and rhythm to make my whole body quiver. His tongue teased my mouth in the same movements as his fingers played with my clit. “You’re so tight and wet, sweetheart.”
I clenched my fist in his hair while my nails dug into his back. He set me ablaze like a forest fire. I couldn’t be quenched by anything but him.
My hips rocked against him as he circled my nub harder, increasing the pace until he pushed me over the edge. I couldn’t breathe or even think through the blinding hot orgasm. I wanted to stay in that moment forever, but we were just getting started as I rode out my wave of pleasure until my high slowly lowered me back down to earth. Instead of being satisfied, I wanted more. I wanted our bodies to move together and become one.
I wanted to watch his face as he came inside me.
Parker licked his fingers nonchalantly and smiled. “Sweet.”
“Get naked.” I went for his shirt first and pulled it up his chest. “Now.”
His muscles rippled and flexed as he allowed me to pull the shirt off him. Renewed lust for him aroused me as my palm skimmed down his body to reach for the hard package waiting for me. His cock was stiff and begging for release. Parker studied me as I undid his pants and released his dick.
He helped push them down as I grasped his cock. A bit of precome dripped from the tip, so I slid my finger across it and brought it to my lips, watching his eyes dance as I tasted his salty fluid. Parker’s eyes never left mine as I aligned his cock with my opening. All he had to do was push the slightest bit and he was pressed against me, teasing me mercilessly.
With a moan, I begged for him to enter me, to fill me with the fullness that I needed so desperately. It may have been the alcohol in my veins, spreading heat throughout my body, but I needed him inside me.
Parker smirked and plunged his full length inside me. We studied each other, taking in each other’s expressions as if we’d never done this before. He would hold and then move, never getting into a steady rhythm that would push either of us too far. The tightness of my swollen channel hugged every inch he gave me. I squirmed beneath him, the intensity of his eyes boring into me as unbridled desire sparked between us.
The heat between us was palpable, and I knew he felt it too. I brought my hands up to play with my tits, teasing and pinching them under Parker’s watchful gaze. His reaction was immediate, his cock pulsating and growing even thicker inside me. He finally set a rhythmic motion that was mesmerizing, moving us both in perfect unison and filling the need we’d been fighting for so long. Finally, the chemistry building between the two of us was released and we both knew this was only the beginning for us.
Parker’s eyes sparkled in joy but quickly morphed into a passionate blaze as his breathing became more labored. His hips continued thrusting into me, his athletic build flexing and tensing with each movement. The visual alone of his perfectly chiseled body had me ready to explode.
Despite having come just moments ago, I was about to explode around him once again. The tightness at the pit of my stomach started building outward, threatening to impact every inch of my body. Parker’s eyes closed, obviously on the brink of his own release. When his face twisted and he threw his head back, I knew he was coming, depositing his seed into me.
I couldn’t hold back any more as I allowed my body to release the volcano of pleasure building inside me.
A quake erupted within me as he pulled out and pushed back in, each movement working in time with the waves of pleasure coursing through my body. I convulsed and gripped the comforter, barely able to control myself as the most intense orgasm I’d ever experienced rocked through me. By the time Parker had shot his final load, he collapsed on top of me and moved his lips to mine.
Gentle kisses marked the final moments of our lust while we both caught our breath. I was exhausted, and my eyes were drifting shut when the hot man of my dreams pulled me close into his side. “Sleep well, sweetheart.”
Chapter 13
I woke up the next morning with a headache.
Fortunately, Parker’s strong chest was right in my face and his scent washed over me, helping to ease some of my discomfort. I wanted to wake up like that every day. It was absolutely perfect. I didn’t want to disturb him, so I remained absolutely still, hoping to just stare at him for a while longer.
“Morning, sweetheart.” Parker looked down at me without any hint of gloating. “Your head okay?”
I rubbed my temple. “I might have a headache…”
He grabbed two pills from the nightstand and handed me a glass of water.
I swallowed the pills dry then washed them down with water, hoping they’d kick in fast.
He yanked on the baggy shirt and exposed my shoulder. Then he pressed a kiss to the skin. “If it’s any consolation, you look beautiful this morning.”
Just when I thought I couldn’t feel anything more for him, I did. My eyes softened, and my headache seemed to fade.
I held his gaze and tried to hold back the confession on the tip of my tongue. We were sharing a perfect moment and I didn’t want to ruin it, but I also needed to be honest with him. “Thank you for being here for me.”
“Anytime you need me, I’m here for you. If you need a shoulder to cry on, I’m always here. If you ne
ed someone to talk to you, I’m your guy. Nothing will change that, Sierra.”
“Thank you.” I rolled onto my back and stared at the ceiling.
He waited for me to continue, knowing I had more to get off my chest.
“I just feel lost…” I didn’t know what I was saying but words started to flow out. “My father and I weren’t exactly close, but I never doubted he loved me. He and my mom seemed so happy together. We were a family. It’s so hard to believe everything was a lie. And now, in just a matter of minutes, I don’t have a family…because he’s a monster.” I didn’t want to cry because even though Parker just said it was okay if I needed his shoulder. My father didn’t deserve my tears. I breathed hard and kept my composure.
Parker hung on my every word. “I know it’s hard. Family keeps us grounded. When they’re gone, we don’t know where we belong anymore. Quiet afternoons suddenly feel lonely when they didn’t before. And holidays feel even worse.”
It seemed like he understood all too well.
“And I hate that you now know your dad isn’t who he said he was. You have so many memories of him, but now you have to separate fact from fiction.”
I nodded, unable to say anything without giving away my true emotions.
“But you always have me. I’ll be your family, Sierra.”
“You’re all I have…” The realization made me feel both better and worse. He quickly became my savior, changing my life overnight and taking it in a direction I never anticipated.
“Everyone at MTG will be your family too. We’re all there for each other.”
“The other agents?” I asked, wondering if they were as good as Parker claimed they were.
“Yeah. I’ll introduce you soon.” He leaned forward and kissed my cheek. “They’ll love you as much…”
His words trailed off and I held my breath, wondering if he was about to say the words I wanted more than anything to hear.
Parker sighed and brushed a strand of hair off my forehead. “As soon as I get clearance from Chase, we’ll head back to the States and you can get to know everyone.”
