The alarm woke me up from a deep sleep, so it took me a few moments to even work out where I was. It can be a little confusing when you spend more time in a virtual world than the real one. I think Vee was even worse than me and I had to nudge her a few times. When that did not work that well, I kissed her. I intended just a light gentle kiss, enough to wake her, but not drive her crazy. I forget sometimes that she likes to be dominant and prefers to do the kissing rather than be kissed. So I found myself rolled onto my back with an amorous Vee tasting my tonsils. Not that I am complaining. One hand was caressing my breasts and the other was under my nightie and rubbing my groin and both felt really good.

She stopped suddenly with a shriek.

  “What?” I asked.

She scrunched up my nightie and brought her head down to have a good look. I sat up a bit to see but she was in my way. “It's gone.” She whispered.

“Move your head. Let me see.” Wordlessly she moved away. My penis and balls were gone. I could just about see that I still had a hole, but that was it. I was a bit disappointed, not that my male junk had fallen off, more that I didn't look more female. I would have to ask Janice what the MRI saw under my skin.

I think we gave new meaning to the game hide the sausage. We had to strip the bed to find these shrivelled bits of flesh. Vee went to the kitchen and came back with some cling film. We wrapped them up so that we could take them to the good doctor. She then remarked that I had some breast development, it was nothing substantial, but definitely the beginnings of breasts.

I then had my inspection of Vee. Her ears were missing their lobes and hinting at pointing. I think she was up another bra size. I didn't mention anything about her butt, that tended to get mixed responses. Possibly a little taller. There wasn't a lot of difference between Kara's facial structure and Vee's, but there was a bit and now Vee looked a bit more like Kara than she did her original self. Her eyes were fully green now. Wow. My wife was hot.

We were both pretty excited. We practised our Taigoa form and got ourselves ready. My hunger was still a bit of a problem so I had two bowls of cereal and a couple of pieces of fruit. We arrived at the head office just before the 7.30am appointment. Janice was already waiting for us. She took us to a small windowless room with nothing in it but a few chairs and her briefcase. The door had a lock on it, which she used after we had entered. She had a folder for each of us with all the information that Wren and her team had got off Dr Sinclair's computer.

“Well, I don't have a lot more information for you.” She said. “I only got these this morning and I am not allowed to take them out of the building.” She indicated the folders. “This will be our examining room, I just have to ask for what I want in it. I brought a few things to keep the continuity with what we already have, but that is about it.”

“What about the MRIs?” Vee asked.

“Again, for security reasons, we will only be able to view them here. Wren and her team are going to set up a computer system here, isolated from the network, with a large monitor that can view all the images. Roni was hoping to hire Cathy, the radiologist from last night. If that works out, she will be going through those images and between us, we should be able to tell you more tomorrow. Although, I can point out right now, that one question has already been answered.”

“Which one was that?” I asked.

“I understood that my purpose was to monitor your changes so that legally we can prove who you are. But I was also tasked with answering the question, if the body image is changed, does the body physically change to match? Now, although your changes are not complete, the MRI shows changes that are almost, miracle like. I think the gist of the question is yes it does. Now we need the fine nuances. Is it a perfect replication? There are some profound implications, but I am not the designer of your experiments, merely the observer,” Janice answered.

“Maybe you should think of those questions you want to be answered. The more minds the merrier. In the meantime, we have some news for you.” I looked to Vee, who fished a cling wrapped parcel out of her handbag and passed it to me. “Here are the bits that you said might fall off.”

“Oh my,” Janice said. “I'm not quite sure what I am supposed to do with that. We could send it to a lab, but I don't think we want that examined.” She picked up the items and put them in the fridge. “Item number one on my list of things I need is an examining table and item number two are gowns. I'm sorry Andi, but I need to see. The door is locked, please take off your clothes.”

So I stripped for her again. This time she took a pad and paper, taking notes whilst muttering. I don't think I was meant to, but I could hear her. “Breast development, thinner waist, genitals gone, urethra remaining, seems to have moved down a bit, skin tone more golden, moles disappearing, all skin blemishes going, no evidence of hair at all.”

After she had a good look, I could put a pair of panties back on. My clothes had remained relatively unisex to go with my androgynous look. I had stuck with boxers while I still had something to contain, but this morning I felt a lot better borrowing panties from Vee. Janice then took a measuring tape from her briefcase and did all these measurements, followed by pictures.

Once she had done all that she needed to for both of us she asked. “I think I have finished with the monitoring part. Do you have any questions?”

“Yes. I look very incomplete down there.” I indicated my groin. “Did the MRI indicate anything developing there.”

“Yes, it did. I have to caution you that we need further review of your MRI images and this is just my recollection from yesterday, but, under the circumstances, I was concentrating pretty strongly, so I don't think I am mistaken. There was an almost complete vagina and nervous tissue forming that would be consistent with a clitoris. Although I don't know how it is going to happen, I expect you to be fully female fairly shortly.”

“That's wonderful. I was getting a bit worried. Oh, the other thing I am getting concerned about is my recent hunger. Yesterday and today I am struggling to satisfy my cravings.”

“That is interesting. Are you eating differently?”

“Well, becoming an elf has also led to a no meat diet. Dairy seems OK though.”

  “What about fish and seafood?”

“I haven't tried them yet. I have never been that fond of seafood.”

“But you were fond of meat and now you aren't. Maybe the reverse will happen with seafood. Anyway, I don't know precisely why you have suddenly become insatiable, but I can give an educated guess. I think you were maybe a little overweight, but you aren't now. Whether the fat you had went because of your new diet or it has been redistributed, I can't say, but women have a higher fat percentage than men and particularly curvy women need even more. I suspect your body is craving fat to help with your changes. Dairy can contain high-fat content, avocados, nuts and fish if you can stomach it, may help you fill up. It also might speed your changes.”

“Thank you, doctor, that is very helpful. I will give that a try. My breakfast this morning was low-fat cereal and I think it was low-fat milk that I used. I still felt hungry after 2 bowls.”

  “You're welcome. Anything else?”

“I was wondering Janice if you have come up with any theories as to how our accident happened,” Vee asked.

“You haven't given me any information about the accident that started this,” Janice commented.

“I know that. This can be off the record if you want, or you can not answer, but I am curious as to what you think we did.”

I was wondering what Vee was playing at. I think Janice was too. She considered for a while. I don't know if she was considering the question or whether to answer, but in the end, she did.

“I don't think I need to talk off the record or anything. I literally have been given no clues, so my opinion, is just that, an opinion. I couldn't help but wonder what you could have done to change your body image and the only thing I could come up with was some kind of psychedelic drug or a drug that ha
d psychedelic side effects. If you like a bad trip that had unexpected consequences. Followed by experiencing a virtual reality that reinforces that body image.”

“Thank you, Janice, for your honesty. Of course, we can't confirm or deny anything.”

She chuckled. “I didn't expect you to. Is there anything else?”

We both shook our heads. Janice stayed to go through her notes and we left to see Roni for our schedule for today. When we were alone in an elevator I asked Vee what that was about.

“It occurred to me that medical doctors think very differently to how we think. The same is probably true for security guys. I thought the best way to get in Dr Sinclair's head was to see what he might have been thinking. In my experience medical doctors think alike, everything can be done with drugs and surgery. Since surgery was out, I thought she would think a drug was responsible and I was right.”

  Chapter 26

We got to Roni's office before 8.30 am and she hadn't arrived yet, so we went to the cafeteria. I picked out some nuts, following the advice from Janice. It seemed to do the trick. I was a little worried to eat too many fatty foods. I had spent most of my life with a bit of excess weight and didn't want to start my new female one with the same problem. Vee assured me that I wasn't going to get fat overnight and she had not seen any fat elves. If I really wanted to speed up my transformation I needed to indulge a bit.

Since there was a range of food available, I was also able to try a bit of smoked salmon. I didn't particularly like the smell, but the taste seemed fine and I didn't think I was reacting negatively in any way. Shellfish might be different, but fish seemed OK. That does help with menu choices.

We stayed there chatting and nibbling until it reached nine am and then went back up to visit Roni and see what was in store for today. We had a meeting scheduled for ten am, so we were kicking our heels for an hour. Rather than waste the time, we went outside and practised Taigoa, telling the receptionist to give us a shout ten minutes before the meeting was due to start.

We were the last ones to enter the meeting, but at least we did so in a relaxed energised state. Besides Wren, John, Roni and Brett there was another guy present who was introduced as Joshua, who was the head of the game designers.

“I have asked for this meeting for a progress report,” Brett said. “Who wants to go first?”

“I will,” Joshua said. “Trish is working on Andi's world in the hopes that it will broaden our ability in terms of who we can affect and how, but it is in the very early stages and until it is finished we will have no way of knowing if it will work. We are also working on replicating a resume point on a game so that a different headset could be used. We think we have succeeded with that, but to apply it to Andi's headset would require a program update. At present, that feature has been disabled on that headset and there is a risk that it interferes with a process that we do not understand.”

“So we could, in theory, update Andi's headset and then be able to copy his resume point so that he could use any headset, but at the risk of losing everything?” Brett asked.

“Yes. I don't think it would do any damage or affect anything, but I'm not sure I would want to take the risk.”

“Good work Joshua. I don't think we should take that risk either. Can you see if you can find a way to resume on another headset without having to make any changes on the original?”

“That is our next objective, but I thought you would like to hear what we have achieved so far.”

“Thank you, Joshua. Who would like to go next?”

Roni indicated that she would. “I think the hiring of Dr Marsden went well. We have decided to keep the method of the change in body image a secret, but other than that she has had to be told everything. The same will be true with the radiologist Cathy Ferguson. Her final interview is today at three pm.”

Wren said. “My turn. We have managed to gain control of Dr Sinclair's computer. He took DNA and blood samples, both were to be analysed on site. The DNA result will not be available for another 2 weeks. At the moment, if we want to get a hold of that sample, we will need a physical extraction. The blood work has been done and the report is in the file given to Dr Marsden. I have reclassified the identification of the blood samples to match two people who have died and they should be automatically destroyed within 24 hours, following hospital procedure.”

“I can organise an extraction or hire somebody else to do it, but I need authorization.” John put in.

“Can we work out what he knew and who he told?” Brett asked.

“He has sent an email that suggests he has disregarded what Andi and Vee have told him. He believes they are part of a super soldier scheme. From other files on his computer, I can tell you that he was part of a team involved in trying to create a super soldier. He and his team were unsuccessful, but he is convinced that Andi and Vee are from a similar project that was successful. He is quite desperately trying to email his contact to arrange your detainment. We are pretty sure that his contact is CIA, but there are quite a few other agencies that it could be. They are definitely governmental. Unfortunately, since 9/11 there are laws in place that might allow them to legally take you. Of course, none of his emails are managing to leave his computer. If he has another way of speaking to them, we could be in trouble,” Wren answered.

“Do you know what he has already told them?” Vee asked. Both of us were holding hands now.

“Yes. His first email was before we could infect his computer and essentially said that he thought someone had been able to produce subjects with enhanced eyesight and hearing. He would be checking other enhancements such as strength and reaction speed the next day. An email was sent back telling him to get proof and if possible a way to reproduce the success. I have sent an email that appears to have come from him, saying that it was a false alarm. The subjects have above average hearing and eyesight but nothing else. I did this in consultation with John.”

“Yes,” John said. “If they had heard nothing then they would definitely have acted. As it is there are several worries. One, Dr Sinclair has another contact or is able to contact them in another way. Two, they decide to check the hospital to confirm our false email. Three, although Wren has insisted this cannot be traced back to us, there is a possibility that they will find something wrong with the email and investigate further.”

“If they did find out about us, how could we prevent them from just taking us?” I asked.

“That is why we are having this meeting,” Brett said. “To stop that from happening. The easiest way to defeat shadow organisations is to bring everything into the light. If we went public, they would never be able to touch you, but there are consequences that you would have to suffer with that route. John, how would we ensure that we had some kind of warning? I don't want us to take drastic action that is not necessary.”

“I have already taken steps to make sure we are likely to be warned. Dr Sinclair's phone and iPad are continuously broadcasting his audio. We are monitoring any inquiries coming in. But the only way to be absolutely sure that we will have some warning is to put the two of you somewhere safe.” John said pointing at Vee and me. “Preferably deep within a building with security around you. I would say that I think it very unlikely that they would take British citizens with the information the doctor has given them or could give them. I expect them to look for more information first. If that happens then we need to be on our guard or act proactively.”

Silence reigned for a while as we all realised how serious this was.

“Could we maybe put out a bit of disinformation?” Vee said. “I mean, we are now confident that changing our body image causes our physical body to change to match. We have something that potentially could help so many people, we have to protect it.”

“What did you have in mind?” John asked curiously.

“No one would actually believe the process anyway, so why not give them something they can believe.”

  “Like what?” John asked.<
br />
“I asked Dr Marsden to guess how it could happen and her best guess was a drug that can give you a bad trip, reinforced by VDR cementing the changed body image in your mind. If we can get them chasing a drug, they won't be chasing us.” Vee stated.

“Ummm. I like it. I'm not sure how it would work, but I guess that is where research comes in.” Brett said. “OK, we will look into that. Now Andi. How close are you to be able to start experimenting?”

“I think we will be ready for Katie either tomorrow or the day after, depending on the storyline progression. Since I am now able to go for seven days each time it won't be long.” I turned to Joshua. “I did have a question for Joshua. We spent three days in the game last night and we want to do seven days next visit. Do we have to wait twenty-four hours after our three-day visit?”
