“Not a really good idea.” She told me and I looked at her puzzled. “Why?” I asked her back.

“Simply because they are from another pack. Damn, I am not even sure we should say that to our own pack members.” She started and I could sense she was nervous. “You know the stories our moms are telling us are mostly about Spirit Alpha Wolf which as you could guess is supposed to me Alpha, not Luna. Even those who are now on our side might turn back just because we have in our pack you. You are a treasure and at the same time target.” She explained to me.

“I didn’t think about it this way,” I replied. “Once packs would know you were born, they would split into two groups. One would want to control you and own you and the other protects you. Not to mention if you were born it also means a bad omen. Something bad is gonna happen in our unnatural world and sure no one wants it.” She added and I had to say I had goosebumps all over my body.

“Is that so?” I asked her not really sure she was right. I heard some stories also from my mom but as I know our stories were based on facts but in other packs, they were just made stories with a little bit of truth.

“The world changed and people don’t believe in fairy tales anymore Rei. You are a creature from one so once they see you, they would want to know what you could do.” Emily told me and I didn’t like the words that were coming from her mouth. I knew deep inside that she might be right but at the same time, I was hoping that it would not be the case.

“But we need them here,” I told her, and I could see she was thinking. “It is really hard to suggest something,” Emily replied. “I think showing yourself is like fifty-fifty, they might be the good ones and really settle beside. Anyway, there are already fewer and fewer spaces for us to live freely so they might welcome the offer of freedom Calen wants to offer them but honestly, I also understand why it is a risk. Those who massacred your pack might be still looking for you.” Emily explained her thoughts. I saw that her possible help was still not completely lost cause.

“About that, I am afraid the most. What if they came here and the history would repeat itself?” I asked worriedly. “We trained a lot and we are good warriors, Calen made sure of it,” Emily spoke courageously and full of energy.

“So, what shall I do tomorrow?” I asked her for the last time. “I would say discuss that with Calen but since you two already fight about that not sure it is a good idea,” Emily told me and I narrowed my lips. “Yeah, but I guess once he cools down, I could try to talk to him again and we should find some solution. They would arrive tomorrow and would stay with us for at least three to five days.” I informed her and her mouth made an ‘o’ shape. I bet she was looking forward to seeing some hot Alphas. I know she was mated already to her Andrew but still, Alphas genes are Alphas genes. I gave out a chuckle on her dreaming expression.

‘Hi.’ I poked our pack link softly once I finished with Emily and was alone in my room. It was a nice time with her and she gave me a lot of things to think about but I should really discuss it. ‘Hi.’ Calen replied to me in our mind-link. ‘I am sorry I left abruptly and shouted at you.’ I apologize to him. ‘Where are you now?’ He asked me directly without saying anything back about my apology. Is he that angry with me?

‘In my room.’ I replied to him and there was silence. In less than five minutes there was a knock on my door. “May I come?” I heard Calen on the other side of the door. “Yes, come in,” I replied and he swiftly opened the door. Saying I had no time to take even breath to say something else would be an understatement. I never saw anybody moving so fast like him. “You don’t know you need to apologize to me for anything princess.” Calen's voice was shaking as he was holding me in his arms with my head pressed against his chest. I could hear his heart beating frantically. He must have run the whole way here to increase his heartbeat like this.

“I should have listened to you. I know you are trying to protect me and the whole pack too.” I told him. I really felt sorry for the way I spat on him my last words and simply ran away from the room. I should not have ignored him like that. “I should be the one to apologize to you. I know you are trying to help as you could. I should be more open to discussing with you.” He replied to me, pressing me more closely that I could barely breathe. “Are you trying to kill me?” I said with a high voice as I had not enough air in my lungs. “Oh sorry, princess. I was just so happy you spoke to me. I was afraid you would be angry with me.” Calen explained and I had a bad feeling that he was talking about the rage I had towards him a month ago when he forbidden me to go to the city alone. I didn’t talk to him for a few days. Note to me: Don’t stay quiet for more than a few hours.

“I was thinking about what we should do and I know there are risks in revealing me but what we would gain, maximum one month since next month the whole pack would know who is their future Luna. So, we could try and we would see but I understand that our friend might become our enemy for the price like Spirit Wolf so I decided to discuss with you properly.” I explained pulling him back and moved backwards to sit on my bed.

“Oh, am I interrupting something?” Tamara asked standing at the entrance of my room staring at us with a smirk on her face. “Not really,” I replied and Calen sighed. I guess he hoped for a little more time just for the two of us. But since we are going to discuss tomorrow’s strategy, I guess it is better if Tamara is here too.

“We were discussing tomorrow. Rei would like to make our friends more friendly, showing them that we have a Spirit Wolf on our side.” Calen explained to her. “Half Spirit Wolf still,” Tamara said and we both were staring at her like what the heck is she talking about? I am sure not a halfling or something like that. “Your wolf would partly mature next month and you would get some of your powers but then we need to wait another three years till Maat would get fully adult and she would be on her full potential but since then you couldn’t fully control your abilities.” She explained to me and I was not sure which abilities and powers she was talking about but I guess that was a discussion for another day.

“So, what should we do? Should we show them who our Luna is or keep it secret? Any visions recently?” Calen asked one question after another without giving Tamara space to answer even the first one. “Hard to say. When I saw Ismail attacking our pack, he was accompanied only by rogues so I guess there is no imminent danger from our allied packs. I guess it is worth trying.” Tamara spoke quietly and with thoughts. She sure was thinking about what she was usually saying, not like me.

“I told Emily today about Maat and she actually suggested keeping it secret as long as possible,” I told them. Tamara was not surprised. “I was thinking when you would tell her. I could see you were fighting yourself for pretty long.” Tamara said happily. “I know. I felt pretty bad keeping this from her.” I replied to her and she hugged me.

“Still we should decide what to do, whether to tell them or not.” Calen interrupted us.

  CALEN’S POV:

“Are you sure about that?” I asked Rei one last time before we would go to sleep. We already decided to tell the Alphas about her wolf but I still had some doubts deep inside. “Don’t ask me because I might change my mind. We hardly made the decision.” Rei replied, pulling me closer to her hiding in my hug. “Can we stay like this for the night? Won’t that be too much for you?” She asked me and I could say she was afraid and nervous from tomorrow. Maybe more afraid than nervous but honestly, so was I.

“You wanna go for a run before we would go to sleep?” I offered her. I knew she would be glowing but since it was snowing everywhere, she would not be that visible. “I would love to,” Rei replied to me. “I meant in our wolf’s form.” I made sure she understood my request.

“Yes, I know,” Rei told me before she pushed away preparing to stand up and go. “But could we first run a bit farther from here?” She asked nervously and I nodded. “Sure princess. We could shift beside your cabin and I could ask Zack to go there and start the fire so we c
ould sleep there today if you want to.” I suggested and she gave me a cute shy smile. I kissed her softly on her pinkie lips before I gently slapped her ass. “After you princess.” She looked at me with the needles in her eyes. “You would never learn, would you?” Rei asked me but I could already feel that part of her tense was gone since she simply changed the focus from one thing to another.

“By the way, it would be nice to stay in my cabin away from everything.” She spoke sadly before she started to run away from the room and away inside the woods. I followed after her informing Zack about our plan through our pack link and asking him if he could start the fire in the cabin for us before we came back. I actually offered him to take Tamara with him so they could stay there overnight with us. Watching the movie, playing some games and for once have at least one normal evening.

  Chapter 30

  CALEN’S POV:

“Welcome Zackary, Tim.” I offered Zackary a handshake the same moment they stood in front of me, Zackary with his typical smirk on his face. “Hey Calen, I am glad to be finally here. The trip was unending.” He complained. “I could imagine. You used your plane or you traveled just by car?” I asked him.

“Sure, my plane, but still the closest airport is four hours by car from here.” He complained and I had to laugh. I had the same problem several months ago when I came here for the first time. The pain of traveling to a place over two thousand kilometers away, I guess.

“Well, feel free to refresh yourself in the social area, and shortly I would send someone to take you to your rooms,” I informed them. I let them drive to the pack house so right now we were standing at the porch of it.

“Thank you. That would be great.” Zackary replied to me before they went past me and right inside the pack house. “Social area is to the right. The refreshment is ready there.” I called after both of them.

“That was the first one.” Andrew stood beside me welcoming the first incomers. “Just two more,” I replied to him. “Inform me when Matlock and Jacob would arrive,” I told him and he nodded to me. “Sure thing, Alpha,” Andrew answered to me.

I wanted to go check on Rei if everything was ready in our meeting room. We decided to go all out so the security was a little bit tighter than we planned in the beginning just to make sure there are no surprises. I don’t want my cute little mate to be in danger, or being harmed.

‘Where are you princess?’ I asked her through our link. ‘At the meeting room making sure everything is ready.’ She replied to me. ‘I would be there in a second.’ I informed her and closed the link.

“How do you feel?” I spoke the moment I opened the door of the meeting room under the ground and saw that my mate is in the company of Hanna, Emily, Tamara, and some other females from our pack putting on some decorations. “Good.” She replied to me but I still good sense the nervousness and doubts inside her voice.

“It’s alright girls; you could leave for now we would finish it later.” She turned to the girls from the pack and they nodded to her. “Yes Luna.” Sounded unison as they were leaving one by one. “What is with the decoration?” I asked her once we were left alone. “I wanted the room to look more normal. It’s already enough that it is deep under the ground without the windows and natural light so I thought maybe we could add some lights by placing those soft morning sky blue curtains around. The table-cloth also made a good impression.” She showed me around and I have to say it really looks lighter. Didn’t realize how gloomy the room was before until I saw it with those decorations.

“I see you also added wooden paneling around.” I noticed and she nodded. Compared to how it was before she made the room look more spacy and open. I really liked that. “It looks much better now, to be honest. I didn’t realize how dark this room was before.” I told her and she gave me one of her lovely smiles.

I could not resist and kissed her seeing that cute smile. “The first one arrived just a few minutes ago. That reminds me I need to send someone to show them their rooms.” I told her remembering that I still didn’t inform anyone to take care of that. “I would do it.” She offered but I didn’t like that. “You are Luna of this pack; we could leave it to someone else,” I argued about that. She was already doing a lot and thinking about what might happen in the evening after they took a little rest and we would discuss the matters in this room. I would feel better with her staying out and relaxing now.

“Exactly, I am Luna, which means I am the one with you who is hosting them. It is our responsibility to take care of them which means there is nothing wrong with me showing them their rooms.” She told me with an amazing glance and decadency and I was impressed thinking from where this all comes from. I smiled at her. I still didn’t like the idea of my own mate being the one with them since she is not marked yet but my scent should be already all over hers so I hoped that everything would be alright and they would not try anything on my mate. I know that two of those guys who would be attending are still mate-less.

“I should go up with you and introduce you then.” I tried to tell her that I would go with her but she got me the moment I spoke eyeing me curiously. “Jealousy, isn’t it?” She asked me.

“Maybe,” I answered, deciding not to lie to her but at the same time, I didn’t want to admit that I was jealous of my beautiful mate. She wrapped her hands around my neck lifting her up on her tiptoes kissing me deeply. “I am just yours my big bad Alpha, don’t worry,” Rei whispered to me after she broke the kiss. I groped her as* squeezing it until she gave a squeak.

‘Another Alpha is on the way.’ Andrew informed us in our link and I had to pull away but the instant I did I felt the cold as Rei’s body didn’t touch me anymore. “Have to go princess. Another one arrived.” I informed her. “I would go with you. I would take the first one to their rooms.” Rei replied.

  “Alright, princess,” I told her.

  REI’S POV:

I wasn’t really prepared to face the foreigner Alpha yet but since I already offered my help, I should not take it back. Anyway, soon I would become fully Luna of this pack and this should be my responsibility. I should get used to this kind of thing since I want to stay beside my mate.

The packed house was already half empty and Calen especially for today asked everyone who was not involved to stay away to make less commotion in the pack house, so when we were going now up to the ground floor, we didn’t meet anybody on the way. “Are you sure you want to do it by yourself?” Calen asked me one more time and I could not say no. I wanted to do it. I wanted to start being the real Luna.

“I could handle some conversation with strangers and be nice I guess.” I joked back but I know Calen understood my worries. I had a hard time getting used to the people in the pack. Talking to them in small groups and many times when I was left alone without Tamara, Emily, Calen, or Hannah and was forced to speak to them my inner self was calling for help. It disturbed me so much that Calen always had to find me and help me. Despite our mate-bond not fully formed just staying so close to each other he already could sense my distress and emotional collapses. Lucky me I would say.

“Don’t push yourself okay?” He told me and I nodded. I wasn’t planning to.

He kissed me one more time leaving me at the entrance for the social area and headed out to welcome another incoming.

I stood there for a few short seconds taking deep breaths. “I can’t believe they build so much in such a short time.” I heard from the room. “Yeah, but now it is late to move our pack.” Someone else replied to the first guy. “But we could at least think about it for next year Alpha. You know it is also starting to be dangerous for us at our current place. They seem to settle here pretty well.” Some others replied. They didn’t talk particularly loud but enough for the werewolf to hear it. I knocked on the frame of the entrance and entered.

“Greetings gentlemen.” They were completely silent once I entered staring right at me. I had my silver hair tightened behind my back in the middle of my back so they left the vol
ume up and around my head but did not fly everywhere as I was walking. I was looking at them with my golden eyes trying to look gently and friendly. “Good morning my Lady.” The guy who was sitting at the sofa alone right in front of the table with the refreshments stood up but didn’t leave his eyes off of me. I walked towards him offering my hand. “My name is Rei. I am Calen’s mate and future Luna of this pack.” I introduced myself to them trying to keep my voice from shaking since I was nervous like hell.

“Nice to meet you Rei. I am Zackary, the Alpha of the Ocean spirit pack. As you could guess but our pack name, we are living beside the ocean on the west coast. This is my beta Timothy, and my best warriors Emmet and Franco.” He pointed at the guys standing around him. “I am glad that gloomy face finally found his mate.” The guy standing up smiled widely and accepted my hand shaking it. “Apologize for the stare, you look - - - different.” He interrupted himself searching for the correct word to describe my appearance. “Don’t worry about that, I know I don’t look like a typical wolf.” I smiled at him without giving him more explanation. They were bound to find out soon so why spoil the surprise now.
