“I could take you to your rooms if you want to. I was informed another Alpha arrived so either we could go now or you could wait and see who came.” I informed him, keeping still the same smiley face. “You don’t know who came?” He asked me and I shook my head. ‘Which Alpha arrives my love?’ I asked Calen quickly in our link. ‘I think it is Jacob from Bohemia’s blood pack. The one from Europe.’ He replied to me.

“Calen told me that it should be Alpha Jacob but he is not one hundred percent sure,” I informed the Zackary who stood in front of me. “We would wait then.” He replied to me without even thinking. “As you wish then,” I replied to him and was ready to leave.

“Wait.” He called after me and turned back to him. “Please. Sit with us for a little bit.” He asked me. I smiled at him and was thinking why not.

“Alright,” I replied, heading to sit at one of the chairs beside the sofa where he was sitting before. “I would like to ask something personal if you don’t mind,” Zackary asked me and I could see that the question is not only his. I bet they talk in the mind link so whatever he wants to ask me his men have the same question in their minds.

“Is it about my appearance?” I guessed and smirked. “I think you get that question very often based on your reaction.” He laughed since I didn’t feel offended or anything like that. “Not really honestly but I saw the reaction you and your men gave me when I entered the room,” I replied to him still keeping my posture.

“I see,” Zackary answered. “Anyway, everything about my appearance would be cleared when the rest of the visitors arrive and we start the meeting. So please wait till then.” I asked him and he nodded. “Thank you, Alpha Zackary,” I replied. I could already hear the voices at the entrance of the pack house. The other visitors arrived and were heading to this room as well.

  Chapter 31

  CALEN’S POV:

“Guys, please calm down.” I tried to reason with them. I could not imagine they would start to fight over something like that. “You can’t be serious Calen. This moron just practically said that we are like mermaids just because we are living on the coast. I should have torn him apart right here. I am trying to stay calm only because this is your pack and I am just a host here.” Zackary shouted at me. I know it was not meant for me but when I was inviting them, I forgot that Zackary and Matlock are like day and night. They could never be together especially not in one room. If those two would agree to move here I need to put them on opposite sides of my own pack just to make sure they are far away from each other.

“The f**k you are. We are werewolves. We are supposed to live in the woods and close to the mountains, hunt, and run. Not swim like p*****s in the ocean.” Matlock answered to him with the poison dripping from his words. I could say he was definitely trying to make him fight or provoke him at least.

“I guess that would be enough.” I turned my gaze to my little mate. With the tone, she used to say those words I could not say cute anymore. She was not the cute little mate at this moment and her voice sent shivering even deep into my own bones. The rest of the Alphas in the room turned to her direction as well.

We were sitting in this room for maybe one hour and these guys were just bickering since then. The only ones staying quiet up to now were Jacob and Rei. Jacob was chuckling on the fight those guys had, I tried to calm them down and Rei was just sitting on my left gritting her teeth but seems she finally got enough.

“What are you? Children? Am I supposed to treat you like one? We are sitting here for one hour. One hour I am trying to figure out what is the problem between you two and the only thing you are able to do is bickering at each other. You.” She pointed at Matlock. “If you want to challenge him do it openly. We could hold the duel up at our graining grounds and you could get out whatever frustration you hold inside. And you.” She turned her gaze to the other one. “You could silence him the same way as I just told him. You are both Alphas but you are talking and behaving like spoiled five years old kids.” I couldn’t say I was not enjoying her outburst. She stood up from her chair placing both of her hands on the table leaning forward.

I could not leave my eyes off of her. “You would calm down. You would sit and you would talk about the matter you came to talk about. After you could deal with whatever problem you have in between each other but stop wasting my own time with your stupid bickering.” She said really out loud with the full power of her voice. Despite her short and fragile stature, she was radiating power and respect. They were staring at her and seeing the fire in her eyes I knew exactly why. Her eyes were glowing. Not the same when our wolves are going to the surface and our own power is mixed with theirs. I saw the eyes of her wolf. This glow was her power.

“Who are you?” Matlock visibly calmed down and was fascinated by my mate. “You would already know if you would stop this nonsense for at least five minutes.” She scolded him like a little child before she turned to me for approval.

“My apologies Luna,” Matlock spoke and I knew that he would stop for now. I don’t know what exactly she did but even I had a strong urge to listen to her words and follow what she said. She was not commanding us or giving orders and I still felt like I didn't have to obey yet my consciousness was trying to convince me that I actually want to oblige her.

I was fascinated by my own mate, the same as the guys sitting right here with us.

I slightly nodded to her with the silent approval for whatever she wants to do next. “As you all know, six years someone attacked three Silver packs.” She started. She sat back down on her chair and the Alphas didn’t take their eyes off of my mate. Not like I would agree with them staring at her and I wanted to shout to turn their eyes from her. I wanted to shout that she is mine and they have no right to even lay an eye on her but I could not simply because at this moment she was not just my mate, she was my Luna and she was the Spirit Wolf. Under the table, she searched for my hand and once she found it, she pressed on it strongly. I didn’t know if she tried to calm down my jealousy and nervousness from them being here with her or if she looked for support for herself. Either way, we both needed to feel the support of each other.

As she continued the story of the attacks, describing what she remembered from that day when her parents and the whole pack died, the Alphas were slightly taken back with her detailed story.

“You were there. You are from Silver pack.” Zackary stated like he was the only one who actually understood her words. They all did but no one else had the guts to say that out loud. “I am Reina Elain Indegard, the only daughter of the Alpha Amarick Fergus Indegard and his Luna Adeline Adriana Indegard, the lone survivor of the m******e that happened six years ago,” Rei said proudly.

“That is not possible. No one survived those m******es. We dispatched the scouts over the packs and they came back to report everything was destroyed and burned. Not even the body left to bury. There were no traces of the survivors. No traces even from where the attackers came and where they went.” Zackary told us. He didn’t tell me that he sent the scouts that time or any information about those packs, nothing.

“I would not tell the story of how I survived and what happened with me that day, those are my personal and private memories and they are not related to the information I am going to tell you but I did survive.” I was admiring the power in her voice when she was speaking. This definitely made her mind. ‘She is amazing.’ Thoth was also delighted by hearing and watching our mate.

“You knew about it?” Zackary turned to me. He definitely knew something more than the others. I didn’t know why Silver packs are so important to him. “I found out a few months ago. I met her when I first came into this land and for sure she didn’t come to me and tell me her whole story.” I replied to him kind of sharply and with sarcasm.

“You do know something about the Silver packs, don’t you?” Rei asked him curiously. Even I could sense that much from his behavior. “They were sacred to us. My great grandmother was from one of those packs, she told
me many stories about how important those packs are. Those born there are direct descendants of the Moon Goddess. They carry sacred blood in their lineage. My father was supposed to protect the pack on our side which was the Silver Crescent Moon pack but on the day of attack when he received the report from our scouts that the pack was under attack he was waiting. I don’t know for what exactly, he never told me. I could see his distress, he wanted to send the warriors to defend the pack but he didn’t.” He explained and I already knew what he was talking about. Not like I had that information for a long time but I see that he was already growing up with this kind of knowledge.

“The bloodlines are not lost. None of those three are annihilated. But seeing you already have the knowledge it might make the things a little easier for me then. Do you know why the bloodlines were so important?” Rei asked him, wanting him to answer the question instead of her saying and showing directly.

“Each pack was holding some sort of powers. Also once promised Spirit Wolf could be born only in one of those three packs. Outside those packs, no one really knew which one was which to protect our royal family.” Zackary answered by earning her smile. Don’t smile at someone else I wanted to tell her but kept myself silent.

“We don’t have a royal family or royal bloodline. What are you talking about and what Spirit Wolf?” Jacob had no idea what Zackary was talking about. I guess no one ever told him some stories about the Spirit Wolf.

“Yes, we have.” Zackary brushed his answer off without proper explanation.

“This is why you want us to move closer. You want protection for her, don’t you?” Zackary turned to me fully understanding the situation he was in. Maybe we would not have to say that she is actually the Spirit Wolf after all. Maybe they would agree just from knowing she belonged to the m******ed pack.

“We have, in this pack, three holders of three bloodlines yet the one is already losing her powers without having any successor which means there is one more holder, someone out and we need to find her. But two direct descendants of those bloodlines are in this pack and yes I seek the protection not only for my mate but also for the other one from the Silver Crescent Moon pack.” I told him and I could see his eyes widened.

“You have someone from Silver Crescent here? How?” Zackary could not believe my words. “She was sent here earlier before the attacks took their places. She wasn’t in the pack when it happened.” I told him and I could see him relax.

“You could definitely count on my support. We couldn’t move the pack before the winter especially not so far in the North because of the winter, but once the spring would start, I would have everything ready to move my pack beside yours. Please prepare for us the land.” Zackary said firmly and I could see that with one of them we already finished the discussion. Zackary had a strong pack. Not the same as mine but strong enough and big enough to give us power and numbers in case of attack. Already with his pack, we would have more battle power than just with my pack, but having those two would be helpful and safer for us all.

“I still don’t understand what exactly is so special about these bloodlines or what the Spirit Wolf is,” Jacob spoke confused. Matlock was quiet the whole time considering and analyzing the whole situation. At least I thought so based on the face he was giving.

“This is a Spirit Wolf,” Rei said and stood up from her place. I caught her hand at the wrist looking at her with an unspoken question. “It is alright Calen, don’t worry,” Rei told me before she placed her hand on mine giving me an assuring look that she made her mind and she is alright with her final decision. I left her hand free and she moved away from the table.

Her shift into a wolf was quick and the same as my little mate was standing right in front of me now the translucent wolf with the silvery glowing fur and the deep icy blue eyes were staring at Jacob.

“My mate is a Spirit Wolf,” I stated and the guys stood up from their places leaving the chairs almost flying away from the force they used during that simple motion. “This can’t be.” “This is a bad omen.” “What is that.” “How is something like that possible?” “We need to keep it as a secret.” They were shouting all together and I didn’t know who to speak first or what to do. Rei changed back the same quick as she turned to her wolf and was now trying to calm them down.

“We are not begging or asking for anything. The same person who m******ed my pack and the other Silver packs are looking for me and once he knows I am here alive he would try to come and take me. Calen invited you to offer the land where you could grow your numbers, train, and live the life we are meant to live and as allies to protect each other when the situation urges it. You might think that you could stay away from this all and stay in your land away from the fight and everything but you are wrong. I am not still sure what exactly is my destiny and what am I supposed to do since my wolf is still not fully matured but already knows that I would have powers to control and order others and keep them under my command. If I end up in the hands of our enemy, everyone would be in danger.” She spoke wisely and truthfully. I didn’t want to interrupt her so I only stood beside her and took her hand in mine to give her support while she was talking trying to convince those other two.

I could see that Jacob was somewhere in between not fully understanding what he just saw. Zackary was convinced and now seeing that my mate and my Luna are actually from the royal bloodline and on top of that the Spirit Wolf herself, his main priority was to keep her safe but with Matlock, I didn’t know what I should think. His expression was blank without emotion and I could not understand what exactly he was thinking about. I always knew he was a little bit of a coward, never accepting or asking the real challenge and always just bickering and insulting others but he had the pack and numbers and we were allied with his pack since our grandfathers made the agreement between our two packs.

“You could fully count on my support. Now showing me your true identity, I take it as our highest priority to protect you.” Zackary said placing his fisted hand on his heart practically swearing loyalty to my Luna.

“I still don’t understand what exactly is going on and I think I would need more to catch up with the others since I never heard any stories or anything about what just happened but I guess we are in too,” Jacob said, not completely convinced. I guess I would ask Hannah to speak with him and tell him everything she knows and answer all his questions.

“I would connect you with someone who could provide you with the necessary information to fully understand what we are facing,” I informed him and he nodded to me quiet thanks. I turned my gaze to Matlock awaiting his answer.

“Don’t look at me like this. This is a big deal. Something that was supposed to be a bedtime story for the kids suddenly turned to be true and on top of that, you are promising fights. I need to think about this and see what would be best for my own pack.” As I said, coward. He was always like this since I met him for the first time but at the same time, I could not blame him. The fact is that the fights would come and we don’t know exactly when. Rei is not matured and even after she would be, she needed time to learn to control and explore her powers so she would be vulnerable and on top of that in less than a month her existence would be revealed to the whole pack since during the Luna ceremony she would be forced to shift once again.

  Chapter 32

  REI’S POV:

“Thank you, Alpha Zackary and Alpha Jacob, we would really try to help you next spring to settle up and I am sure you would enjoy the freedom in the woods around. We are glad there is still such a huge natural area. And you Alpha Matlock feel free to consider our offer but please don’t feel obliged to accept. It is really your decision to make and no matter how you decide we would accept it and respect it.” I spoke to them nicely and friendly. I was really grateful for the swift decision they made. Sadly, they had to lose this one hour before but thanks to Moon Goddess that was the only time they wasted.

“Since we finished so soon, we could still have a little party upst
airs in the social area. The preparation should be ready there soon.” I smiled at them and Zackary was the first one to return the smile with the thanks.

“If it is possible Luna Rei, I would like to have a word with you,” Zackary asked me once I finished my talking. I turned to Calen for approval. He firstly checked Zackary trying to guess his intention but I guess soon he gave up understanding that he wanted to talk to me probably about my pack and my wolf.

“We could get some refreshments up and then we could talk,” I informed him once Calen nodded to me approving of our little chit chat.

A quick knock sounded from the door. The door had opened so I assumed whoever was on the other side had to link with Calen and ask for approval. Lily as I learned her name today when we were decorating this room entered with her soft cute blush on her cheeks. I didn’t understand how she could be permanently blushing but somehow it suited her.

“I came as you ask my Alpha.” She spoke directly to Calen almost ignoring our guests. She was really the shy type. I need to speak with Calen later to not give her such tasks as accompanying our guests and so on.
