Assassins Betrayed

  “Gina, I feel a strong love for you but we both know the things we have to do. When they are done the future will be for us.” I kissed Gina with a loving tenderness. Gina’s eyes were tearing up as she departed. I had a feeling we wouldn’t be apart too long. After Gina left, Hannah and Tina came in the room to give me more hugs and kisses. They knew I would be feeling bad about separating from Gina.

  Hannah said, “Steven, I called Tom York at the embassy to let him know of your condition. He told me he would be here as soon as possible. I also called General Miller to brief him on some of the important information. Like Bono in particular.”

  “Good girl, Hannah, thanks.” Both Hannah and Tina stayed by my side throughout the night.

  It was early the next morning when Tom York arrived. We all warmly greeted the RSO. He told us that he had the ambassador arrested. FBI agents working Rome reviewed the evidence we sent and agreed it was enough for them to arrest Ambassador Storms. The FBI agents had already taken Storms back to the U.S. to stand trial for countless charges. Storms implicated the ambassador from France, Senator Dreyfus and Dean Grimes. All them have been arrested to faced charges from money laundering to conspiracy to commit murder, among other things. It appeared our job was done here and there really was no point going to DC after all. Tom thanked my team and me for all of our help when he was alone in the middle of his mess. Tom shook our hands as we exchanged best wishes with each other. Tom York was one of the last of the good guys in this screwed up government.

  I remained in the hospital for another day and at the first chance, we jumped on a fast plane back to Taipei.

  After a long flight, we arrived in Taipei. It seemed as if we were finally returning home. That night we stopped by to see Miller and Bianca. I told them about the fate of Bono and the others. Bianca seemed relieved. A little while later, John came over with a message from headquarters for me. It was from the acting director of the CIA, an old comrade of mine. He told me I could keep my post out here for as long as I wanted. And that was great news.

  Bianca asked, “Tina, Frank and I have been talking things over and if you want to live with us, it would be okay.”

  Tina replied, “I appreciate the offer but I have to stay by Steven’s side. He has to realize my undying loyalty to him. It may take a long time but I will enjoy waiting.”

  Miller said, “You’re making a good choice, Tina. Steven is a great guy. Well, we’ll see you guys around town.”

  Kisses and hugs were exchanged and we went to my place. It was near the base and in a high-rise building on the top floor. When we entered, Tina was amazed at the view we had of Taipei. She asked, “How come you never brought me here before?”

  Hannah responded, “Tina, this place is only for his loyal followers. As a matter of fact, I’ve only been here once before.”

  Then I said, “Hannah, I never doubted your loyalties. We just never had much time together.” I showed Tina her bedroom at the end of a hallway. It had its’ own private bath along with a spectacular view.

  Then I asked, “Hannah, do you want to stay here for a while?”

  Tina jumped in and said, “Oh, Hannah, stay here with us, it will be so much fun. We’ll be like a little family.”

  Hannah said, “I’ll stay for a little while.”

  “Great, now I’m going to take a shower and check out my new home.” She danced around a little with a big smile on her face like the child that she should be.

  Then I turned to Hannah and said, “Should we continue what we started out in the desert?” With that, she grabbed my arm and whisked me off to my bedroom. Following a great shower, we jumped in bed and made tender love. Afterwards, I said, “Hannah, I do love you, do you know that?”

  “Oh, yes, Steven, but do you trust me,” as she began to laugh.

  I kissed her with great tenderness and as I moved my arm around the side of the bed, I felt a head. “Tina, how long have you been here?”

  “Not long, Boss.”

  “Well, you’re going to learn to knock from now on.”

  “But you trained me to be a spy and I was just practicing.”

  “Well, what do you want?”

  “I figured since it’s our first night in this great big place, can I stay with you two? Just for tonight, I promise.” Hannah was laughing aloud by now.

  Then I said, “Okay, just for tonight,” as I reached over and shut the light. All three of us settled in for the night. Something else occurred as I exclaimed, “Tina, where are your clothes?”

  “Woops……”
