Can't Stop the Love of A Boss
Page 3
He would try to be nonchalant in the ways he would tell Pain to chill with all the extracurricular shit he was doing back then. His friend always brushed him off, so he left the shit alone. It wasn’t his battle to fight.
“Well, if it isn’t fuck boy and his creepy killer friend,” they heard when they walked into the liquor store.
They both looked up to see Law Baby and Nell looking at them. Murder did like he always did and paid Nell no mind. He wasn’t one to waste time talking to bitches who don’t know how to listen and wanted to be the center of attention. Those were all the things that Nell was as far as he was concerned. He was too busy looking at Law Baby anyway. He hadn’t seen her in a while. She was looking good as a motherfucker right now. That mean mug she had on her face only made him bite his lip to hold the thoughts in his head from coming out of his mouth.
“Damn, now I need a bigger bottle,” Law Baby said and turned to get whatever bottle she was speaking of.
Murder’s eyes were glued to her ass and legs. He had to catch himself from asking her why the fuck she had that bullshit she called clothes on in the first place. Not one blemish on her legs and her toes were painted just like he liked his lady’s feet. Yeah, she was his boy’s ex and all that, but he was the one who fucked up, not her.
It was time for Murder to try his hand because it had been too long since he had seen her in the first place. He left Pain and Nell standing where they were and followed Law Baby.
“Law Baby, are you good? It’s been a minute since I’ve seen you. You’re looking good,” he told her.
“I know damn well you not shooting your damn shot right now. I was in a whole relationship with your boy. Anyway, you never liked my ass back then, and now all of a sudden you wanna know how I’m fucking doing. Nigga you’re fucking doing the most right now. Move the fuck around,” she told him.
“You got shit twisted right now. I’ll let you be great right now though, shawty,” he told her before walking away.
Lawrynn stood there wondering what the fuck his problem was. Murder had never said anything to her, but now he was shooting his shot? Not only that, he was in a liquor store in front of her ex and his best friend. She shook her head, not even wanting to know what the hell was going on in Murder’s head. She got her bottle and headed back to the cash register.
“Umm, what the hell was that about? Did you see Pain’s face? That nigga was thirty-eight hot with his boy. They gonna fight over your ass when they get back to the barbershop,” Nell said and laughed.
“Pain left out of the blue, and Murder hardly acknowledged my presence. I doubt they’re gonna fight. I do know they won’t be sitting around the table talking about how my pussy feel. Fucking friends is not my MO, and you know that shit,” she told Nell.
“Did you see the way that nigga was looking at you? They won’t be friends for long, bitch. I want all the details too, heffa. Don’t play,” Nell told her as they got in Lawrynn’s car and headed to her house for a night of movies and drinks.
While the girls were both trying to understand what happened, Murder was ignoring the bitching that Pain was doing on the way back to the barbershop.
“What the fuck was that shit? You trying to push up on my girl now, nigga?” Pain asked.
“She’s not ya girl no more, man. You’re fucking her cousin, remember?” Murder said, trying to throw shade at his friend.
Pain stopped in his tracks.
“Let me find out you’ve been wanting her, nigga. All this time you’ve been trying to get at my girl, nigga. Huh? Say something,” Pain fussed.
“I’m not one of those niggas on the street. Watch ya fucking tone with me. I don’t play that disrespectful shit,” Murder said.
“I can’t believe you’re moving like a bitch,” Pain said.
Before the last syllable of the word bitch left Pain’s lips, Murder had him by the throat.
“Oh, you can fuck her cousin and anybody else, but I can’t fuck with her? You can treat her like shit, but I can’t treat her like the queen she is? Is that what the fuck you saying?” Murder roared as his friend was choking and turning blue.
The entire shop had stopped moving. All eyes were on the two men who had grown up together. They had never seen Murder act like this before. Of course, everyone in the shop knew what Murder was capable of but knowing something and seeing it was two different things, especially right now.
Murder didn’t see anyone in the shop but Pain. He wanted to snap his friend’s neck right where they stood.
“I can’t hear you, bitch!” Murder yelled.
“Fuck you,” Pain said.
“That’s what the fuck I thought. You did her wrong as fuck, nigga. Now watch me get her right,” Murder said as he let Pain’s neck go. Pain bent over coughing and trying to catch his breath. “Let me know now if me and her is gonna be a problem for you,” Murder said as he watched his friend struggle to get right.
“It’ll never happen,” Pain finally got out.
“Yeah, okay. All I’m gonna say is this is ya last time to say how you feel. After this, keep the shit to ya self. If you can’t, then say that shit too. You know how I carry my shit. Ain’t no need to act like I won’t murder you about mine,” Murder told him.
“Yours? Nigga, please. She always gonna be mine. I’m the one who broke her in, nigga. She always gonna love me,” Pain said, trying to get under Murder’s skin.
“When you know better, you do better,” Murder told him then left Pain on the floor and went into his office, slamming the door behind.
Chapter 5
Murder didn’t come out of his office until everyone was long gone from the shop. He hated to act like that with his boy, but shit, what was he supposed to do? Not getting at Law Baby was not in the cards. The way Murder saw it, enough time had passed since the breakup. He couldn’t keep trying to spare Pain’s feelings when he saw an actual future with Law Baby.
Unlike those nothing ass females out there looking for a come up, she had her own shit going on. Murder knew that since the breakup, she hadn’t been entertaining any other niggas. She stayed to herself, not hanging with a bunch of gossiping birds. That’s what caught his eye the most about her. He was sure that after the way Pain left her, she was gonna turn into a bitter hoe out in these streets. You know one of those females who has been hurt by men, so they’re determined to fuck all their friends and family.
From what he knew, she had picked up and went on about her life like the break up was just a bump in the road. He decided it was time for him to take his ass home after sitting there for so long. He locked up the shop and headed to his car. Looking up, he noticed that Law Baby’s car was at the little hole in the wall bar across the street. After standing there looking at the car for a few minutes, he decided to just drop in to check on her before going home.
Shoving his keys in his pockets, he headed across the street. When he walked in, he scanned the place looking for Law Baby. He found her sitting at the bar with her loud ass cousin. Murder shook his head because he knew if he was gonna try to have anything with her, he would have to learn to tolerate her cousin.
“Why are you in a bar if you bought two big ass bottles from the liquor store earlier?” he said as he bent over to whisper in her ear.
“It’s a free country. I can move around as I please. What do you want, Murder?” she said.
He stared at Law Baby, resisting the urge to say that he wanted her, and he wanted all of her.
“Just making sure you’re good. Who’s driving?” he asked, sitting down beside them.
“Oh, hell nah. We didn’t invite you to sit with us,” Nell said.
“It’s a free country, shawty. I know you heard her,” Murder told Nell.
She rolled her eyes and started mumbling.
“Isn’t there some unwritten rule or man law that you can’t get with your homie’s ex girl? All this flirting and shit you were doing earlier and now has to stop,” Lawrynn said.
Murder laugh
ed at her before getting quiet again.
“How’s the new house?” Murder asked Lawrynn, ignoring what she said a second ago.
“Murder, I know you think this is a game, but it’s not. I’m not gonna sit here and make you think you have a chance with me. I can’t deal with you like that. It just feels wrong,” she told him.
“Check this shit out, Law Baby. I’m not trying to hear shit you saying right now. Fuck whatever rules or man law you talking about. That nigga don’t deserve your respect while he out here knocking up ya cousin. I would never do some shit like that to you. Fuck him, and I told him that shit earlier in my own way. He dropped the motherfucking ball with you. I tried to tell him over and over again that he was gonna lose you to a real motherfucker. He ain’t believe me. I bet his ass know the deal now.
“I gotta have you, no way around it. I’m not talking about just some fucking type of shit either. I’m talking about your heart, soul, pussy, all that shit. I want it all, even if I have to tolerate her aggy ass,” he said and pointed at Nell. She politely smiled as she gave him the middle finger. “I’m gonna do everything I can to make you Mrs. Murder, just don’t have me killing too many motherfuckers in the process,” Murder told her.
He stood to his feet then bent over to kiss her on the lips nice and slow. In the process of breaking the kiss, he sucked on her bottom lip.
Murder then took some money out of his pocket and tossed it on the bar. “Aye, Mac, this should cover whatever they’re drinking. If they go over, I’ll come pay the tab off in the morning. Make sure they get home safe, even if you have to call me to come pick them up,” he told the bartender before leaving without another word.
“Damn, that shit made my pussy jump. Bitch, let me find out you gonna marry Jason from Friday the Thirteenth. How the hell he know you moved?” Nell asked as they watched him walk out the door.
“What the hell just happen?” Lawrynn asked.
“I think you got a boyfriend. Hold up, didn’t he say he was paying for our drinks? Bartender, I need a bottle of Ace of Spades and a glass,” Nell said and laughed.
“Make that two glasses,” Lawrynn said, shaking her head.
~~~
Lawrynn was stirred awake by the sun shining on her face. Her head was hurting so badly it was hard for her to open her eyes.
“I should’ve took your little drunk ass home to your spot last night. If you got a drinking problem, we need to go ahead and get you in a fucking rehab. What the fuck was you thinking last night, Law Baby?” Murder barked at her.
“Ouch, where the hell am I? What do you mean you were gonna take me home? How do you know where I live? What the fuck, Murder?” she asked as she sat up in the bed.
It was then that she realized she didn’t have any clothes on. She looked down at herself, even lifted the covers to see if her thoughts were wrong. Well, they weren’t. She was as naked as the day she was born. Lawrynn looked up at him, ready to fight if she didn’t feel like a truck had run over her four times already.
“Chill, nothing happened between us. You threw up on me, my porch, and your small ass outfit last night. I had to take your clothes off and burn them shits. Other than putting you in the shower and washing you up, nothing happened. I’m not into forcing myself up in anybody’s pussy. It’s mine anyway, but when I get up in there, you’re gonna be spread wide open and begging,” he told her.
Lawrynn was thinking of a smart-ass response when there was banging on his door. He opened a drawer and threw a shirt and some shorts to her.
“If you bring your ass downstairs, put that on. Don’t make me fuck you up before I fuck you,” he told her before walking out of the room.
Murder opened the door to see Pain standing there looking crazy. He hadn’t talked to him since he had to choke his ass out yesterday at the shop. Remembering that Law Baby was upstairs, he laughed to himself. Murder knew she wasn’t gonna stay upstairs long, and when she came down, Pain was gonna have some shit to say.
Murder wasn’t scared of Pain, or any other man for that matter, but he didn’t want Law Baby to see the other side of him. So, he fought against the urge to rub the fact that he had what they both wanted upstairs in his face. He stepped outside instead of asking Pain to come in.
Pain immediately caught on to the move. Shaking his head, he couldn’t hold his tongue on it any longer.
“You got her in there already?” he asked.
“Yeah, but it ain’t on the of shit you thinking. I’m just helping her out. She got herself in a situation last night, no more no less. What’s the reason for the visit?” Murder asked.
“I just came to clear the air. We been boys too long for us to let a piece of ass get between us like that,” Pain said, trying to make Murder go off, so Lawrynn could come out and see him for the monster he really was.
“Well, you at the wrong house then. We both know my future wife ain’t a piece of ass. You must be talking about that hoe you got at your house. You good on that. I don’t want her. She’s got more miles than a ’57 Chevy going on its third engine,” Murder said with a chuckle.
“I just find it funny that all this time you’ve never said anything. Even when I was just kicking it with her, you never said shit about wanting her. What type of shit is that?”
“I’m not gonna keep having this same conversation with your ass. I wasn’t gonna step on your shit when y’all were together. I don’t move like that. I kept telling you that she was a good girl, a wifey type of chick, but you ignored the shit. I told you that a real nigga was gonna snatch her up over and over again, but you chose to keep doing dumb shit. You fucked up. All of that went down six months ago. You’ve got a baby on the way and a hoe at the crib waiting on you, so why are you so pressed about it?” Murder asked then he paused for a minute. He looked at Pain and chuckled.
“Get over that bullshit. I will kill you if you try anything with her,” he told Pain and made sure to bump his shoulder as he went back in the house.
Murder went straight for his room where he found Lawrynn in his bed sleeping. The urge to go off on her subsided. He just watched her sleep. She didn’t come down to see who his company was or just to be seen. Everything she did was impressed him, and she wasn’t even trying.
Murder took off his clothes and slid in the bed with Law Baby. His Law Baby.
Chapter 6
Pain left Murder’s house pissed that he had Lawrynn there in the first place. He didn’t care if she was mixed up in something, and Murder had helped her. She wasn’t supposed to be around his ass like that anyway. Pain felt like Murder should’ve known that Lawrynn was off limits to anyone close to him. There wasn’t anyone closer to him than Murder. He couldn’t understand how the fuck he missed the fact that Murder was straight wanting his girl.
He walked in the house to see Nikki laid out on the couch with some chick eating her pussy. It wasn’t unusual for him to walk in on something like this. Nikki had been horny all the damn time since she’d been pregnant. He didn’t mind the chick coming to get the edge off for Nikki; that meant it was less shit he had to do. After watching them for a few minutes, Pain went in the bedroom and made sure to slam the door.
He lay across his bed looking at the ceiling, trying to understand why the fuck his life was in shambles. Hearing the room door open, he rolled his eyes because he knew Nikki was about to start talking, and talking was the last thing he wanted to do.
“Why didn’t you join us?” Nikki asked.
“I’ve got other shit on my mind right now. Go back out there and do what y’all do. I gotta figure some shit out,” he told her and hoped she would catch the hint and leave.
“You know I’ll do whatever I can to help. She’s gone anyway. We both got the vibe that you were mad about something, so she left,” Nikki told him.
“Just leave, man. Go look at TV or something,” he told her.
“What the hell is wrong with you? We have a kid on the way! We need to learn how to communicate with each other!” she
told him
“I’m communicating that you need to get the fuck out of the room. You’re the one acting like I’m speaking another language or something. Just get the fuck on, man, damn,” Pain yelled.
Nikki finally left the room like he asked. Now it was up to Pain to find a way to get Lawrynn away from Murder and back with him for good.
~~~
Lawrynn was still at Murder’s house as night fell once again. They were looking at TV and just relaxing with each other.
“I want to thank you for coming to get me last night. If I threw up on myself, I know I was done,” she told him.
“No need to thank me. I’m always gonna be here for you. I would like to know why you got that fucked up, though. There has to be a reason for it. Nobody sets out to get that damn drunk just hanging out,” he said.
“Was I that bad?”
“There’s no reason for me to know that you’ve never had anal sex. I also know that Pain is the only guy you’ve slept with. Being that he’s the only guy you’ve slept with, you wanna know are all dicks the same size. I just want to tell you that they’re not. You also want to know do all men eat the pussy like they’re scared of it. Now that you’re sober, I can tell you hell no. If a man eats his woman’s pussy like he’s scared, then I know damn well he fucks it like he’s scared. You made me look at my homie in a different way when I saw him earlier,” Murder said and chuckled.
He was telling the truth, though. There was no need for Pain to be acting like he was scared to get his face wet with Lawrynn, especially since he was the one who broke her in. Murder knew when she volunteered that information that Lawrynn was in no way ready for him to put it on her. He would most likely have her looking for his ass in the daylight with a damn flashlight. Now Murder understood why she just let that nigga go so easily. He wasn’t giving her shit that she couldn’t give herself.
