Can't Stop the Love of A Boss

“I just can’t take this shit lying down, Pops,” Pain said.
“Why not? You’ve been lying down all around town with anybody who had their legs open,” he told his son. “I can’t sit here talking to you without some weed in my system. Go in my room, look in the jewelry box, and get my blunt that’s in there,” he told Pain.
“Pops, I ain’t trying to go in ya stuff like that,” Pain said.
“Nigga, if you don’t take your bitch ass back there, I’m gonna dot your damn eye. After I do, you’re still gonna go get it. It’s up to you if you go decorated or not,” he told Pain.
Pain sat still for two more seconds before getting up to get the blunt for his dad. He had to brace himself for the tongue lashing he was about to get.
Chapter 13
“Is that hoe still carrying what’s supposed to be your baby?” George asked as Pain brought him the blunt.
“Yeah, you’re the one who told me to do right by her. Now, she’s a hoe,” Pain answered, sounding irritated.
“Ain’t no need to sit here and be pissed about it. You didn’t want her pregnant, you shouldn’t have fucked with her in the first place. Furthermore, me telling you to do right by her doesn’t mean I like her. I ain’t the one who knocked her hoe ass up either, am I? Ain’t she Lawrynn’s cousin anyway?” George asked.
“Yeah, Pops,” he answered.
“You knew those two girls were cousins before you fucked her, right?” George asked. Pain nodded. “Nah, don’t look ashamed and shit now. You fucked two cousins, so be a man about your shit. I know damn sure you’re not the first nigga to be in this position. As long as people are fucking, you won’t be the last. You weren’t nodding when you cheated on that girl with her cousin, so don’t nod now. You getting with her ain’t helping the situation. I told you to make an honest woman out of her, meaning MARRY HER HOE ASS,” he fussed.
“Yeah, I knew they were cousins. She was my girl. How could I not know?” he told his father.
“The same way your dumb ass didn’t see that fucking with that girl’s cousin was gonna cross your ass up. Don’t get smart now. You should’ve been smart when she was slanging that pussy in your face,” George said, looking at Pain with nothing but disappointment.
“I said I knew, Pop, what else do you want from me? First, I gotta deal with Lawrynn and her shit with Murder, and now here you go,” Pain said.
“What you mean Lawrynn and her shit? You’re the one who fucked all that up. You think she’s supposed to accept the fact that not only did you fuck her cousin, but she supposed to be carrying your baby? Why can’t you let her be happy with Maurice?”
“He’s like my brother, Pop. How can she do that to me?”
“Well, that girl you with now is her cousin. There is no like in that. That’s blood, through and through. What you need to be asking yourself is, why she ain’t cut your ass for fucking with her cousin? She has every right to, you know. Y’all were in a relationship when you were creeping with that girl. You fucked up y’all relationship, not her. If she got with Maurice after the fact, then you need to suck that shit up. She don’t owe you no loyalty. Shit, you better be glad she ain’t find one of your blood relatives and fuck them just off GP alone,” George told his son and hoped he was listening.
“Pops, but me and Murder been friends since elementary school. How can he do this to me? I love him like a brother,” Pain said.
“I remember a time or two when Maurice told you to slow down out here. He even told you what a good catch that girl was. Am I right?”
“Yeah, he used to say that shit all the time,” Pain answered.
He didn’t like the way the conversation was going, but he wanted his father’s input. He honestly didn’t know where he went wrong with not seeing how Murder felt about Lawrynn.
“He was telling you right there that he would gladly take her off your hands. He was enough of a friend that he waited for you to fuck up before he laid the smack down on her. Back in the day, niggas didn’t care who you were. If they wanted what you had, they went for it. There were a lot of families breaking up behind people looking for long term relationships with someone they were destined to have only a few phone conversations with.
“Son, be honest with yourself for one time. You and Lawrynn had no business together at all. You weren’t ready for any type of relationship, and you’re still not. Right now, you’ve gotta think about that child that you ’pose to be bringing into this world. As for Lawrynn, what’s done is done. Leave it alone. I know it stings that your friend is with her, but that shit you did to her didn’t sting, it down right hurt her. Put your ego to the side, and let her be happy for once,” George told his son.
George hated to see his son so torn over this mess he’d created. Life dealt so much bullshit that there was no need to make new problems. His son was as hard headed as they came. He saw from the way that he was treating Lawrynn that when the break-up happened it would end up hurting Patrick more than it would Lawrynn. Unlike Patrick, Lawrynn had the comfort of knowing that she respected and upheld the relationship. There was no guilt or shame on her part.
“If you were in my shoes, what would you do?” Pain asked his dad.
“I would ask myself if I wanted her to be happy; truly happy. Then I would be honest about if I could be the one to do that. If not, then I would keep it moving. You may want her to be with you, but the real question is what are you gonna do if she comes back to you. If you’re just gonna hurt her all over again, just leave her be. You should only be concerned with my grand baby. Make sure you get a test done.”
“I don’t know if Murder and I will ever be the same again. I just feel like it’s fucked up what he did,” Pain said.
“Again, that is none of your concern. Besides, he only did what you told him to do,” George said and waited a minute for that to sink in.
There was no way in hell he would tell his friend to try his hand with any of the women he’d dealt with. George could talk to his son until he was blue in the face, but at the end of the day, Pain was a grown ass man. It was time he started acting like one.
“Okay, Pops, thanks for the talk,” Pain said and stood to his feet.
“What are you gonna do?” George asked, hoping his son would come to the conclusion that he wanted him to.
“Ain’t shit I can do, really. I’m gonna try to forget all about Lawrynn and raise my kid,” he told his father in a solemn tone.
George knew this was one of those times he would have to send an extra prayer up to help his son stay true to his words. He knew that friend or not, if Murder felt like he or Lawrynn were in danger, he would kill everything to protect what he cared about, including his best friend.

Murder walked into his mother’s house praying that she had cooked. He didn’t get to eat at the restaurant, so he was starving. Holding tightly to Lawrynn’s hand, he walked through the house looking for his number one lady.
“Ma, what’cha doing, beautiful?” Murder asked as he walked down to the basement.
“I’m washing clothes,” Maxine told her son. Upon closing the washing machine, she turned around, and was shocked to see her son and Law Baby standing before her hand in hand.
“Hey, Law Baby, how have you been?” Maxine said as she gave Lawrynn a hug.
She was sure to cut her eyes at her son because she just knew he was on some bullshit. “Come on upstairs with me while you two tell me why you’re standing here holding hands like this,” she said, walking in front of them.
Maxine knew that Murder had a thing for Lawrynn when she saw how he would look at her when she was around. He thought he was slick by making Lawrynn feel like he hated her. They made it to the kitchen, and everyone sat down at the table.
“Which one of y’all wanna start talking first?” she said, eyeing her son.
“We’re together now,” Murder said with a shrug.
“Is she worth losing your best friend over and maybe even your life?” Ma
xine asked.
“It ain’t nothing like that, Ma. Pain broke up with her. He’s got a baby on the way with her cousin,” Murder explained.
“And? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Why are you even talking about Pain when you’re supposed to be telling me how all of this happened and why? She was just with your best friend. Please explain this to me. I didn’t raise you to be running around here fucking over your friends for ten minutes of sex.
“I’m not even going to acknowledge that ten minute comment. I’ve wanted her long enough, and I couldn’t wait any longer,” Murder said.
“It’s suspect that you would even get with this girl. No offense, Lawrynn, but it looks like you’re loving the boys right now,” Maxine said.
“Loving the crew, Ma. It’s loving the crew not the boys. No, she ain’t like that at all. I had to force my way into her life. Her and Pain didn’t need to be together anyway,” Murder commented.
“You and Pain have been friends practically all of y’all lives. I’ve seen people die behind shit like this,” Maxine said.
“Nobody’s going to die. The moral of the story is that he left her for her cousin. Now, I’m picking her back up,” Murder said. He looked at Lawrynn and smiled.
“Does he feel that way about this situation? I’m gonna tell you the truth. I don’t think he does. Regardless of what he did, he still cares about her. You know y’all men are stupid and backward as hell. Be careful, son,” Maxine said.
She could look at Murder and tell he was happy about being with Lawrynn. She just hoped the happiness wasn’t short lived or a precursor to pain and tears in the near future.
Chapter 14
Walking into the warehouse, Pain expected to see the entire crew, but instead, he was met with Murder sitting in a chair with his phone in hand. He stopped short and looked around because he knew something was off. He knew how Murder moved, so he glanced down at the floor and checked to see if plastic was laid out.
“What up? I thought we were having a meeting with everybody,” he said.
“Nah, it’s just us. We got some shit to discuss. Have a seat, this might take a while,” Murder said. Pain took a seat.
“What is this about? Don’t tell me we gonna talk about Law Baby again.”
“Nah, this is about us mostly. I’m saying, she mixed in on it because we both love her,” Murder explained.
Pain acted like he wanted to say something, but Murder held his finger up. “No need to deny it because everybody can tell the shit when you look at her. The problem is that you’re in a fucked-up position. It’s partly my fault, and I straight apologize for that shit. I know you feel like I did some snake shit, but you dogged her out then you left her,” Murder said.
“Nah, you knew how I felt about her. She wasn’t like the other broads that we tossed around. She was a good girl. I admit I should’ve treated her better, but the way you jumped at her made me think you was just waiting in the cut,” Pain said.
“Nigga, that’s because I was. I wasn’t gonna try to push up on her while y’all were together, no matter how much I was crushing on her. When you let her loose, she was fair game,” Murder tried to explain. He was getting tired of explaining that he didn’t really have any ill intentions in this scenario.
“She ain’t one of the jump offs, nigga. All those chicks out here that we straight up passed around, ran trains on, and all that other shit. Lawrynn wasn’t any of those. You know she’s too good for this shit,” Pain said.
“Says the nigga who fucked her over. How can you say how good she is when you couldn’t be good to her in return? I know the shit is gonna be mad awkward and shit for a while, but on some real shit, you’re always gonna be my brother. If you planning some get back shit or something because you feel some type of way, let’s go head and handle that shit now. I’m telling you now, make no mistake about it, I will kill any and everyone who threatens her,” Murder said, looking Pain in the eye.
Pain couldn’t say anything to that. He knew that if Murder was threatening him over the woman that he loved first, he was serious.
“Nigga, you wouldn’t have ever met her if it wasn’t for me. Now you’re gonna threaten me behind her?” Pain asked incredulously.
“You heard what the fuck I said. If you’re not out here doing dumb shit, then everything is good. I just wanted to let you know where I was coming from. Nothing is going to make me leave her. If anything, you’re gonna fuck around and have me at your ass. I love you like my blood brother, but don’t get shit fucked up. I’ll give you a few days to work it out, though. Give me a call in a few days to let me where you stand. I don’t want to be at war with my brother, but that’s all on you,” Murder said and then walked out of the warehouse, leaving Pain standing there.
Murder walked to his car, hoping that Pain didn’t want to go to war with him. He wasn’t looking for a fight, but he damn sure would finish one. He had asked himself over and over if Law Baby was worth it, and he kept coming up with the same answer HELL MOTHERFUCKING YEAH. Deciding to stop at the gas station to get gas and some blunts before heading home, he thought about Law Baby. He hadn’t spoken to her all day, and he wondered what the deal was with her. He pulled out his phone as he got out of his car.
“If it isn’t the man of the hour?” he heard a familiar voice say. Instead of acknowledging her, he kept it moving. “Murder, I need your help, please. My tire is flat, and I can’t get in contact with Pain,” she said.
“What the fuck do you want me to do? I don’t change tires, ma,” he told her.
“You would turn family away? You’re with Lawrynn, so we’re just like family,” she said with a smile.
“No, we will never be family. Even after Lawrynn and I get married, you will never be family to me,” he said, shaking his head.
“Can you please help me? I’m just trying to get home,” she told him.
“All I can do is call Pain for you. I just left him, so I don’t know why he’s not answering the phone,” he said as he pulled his phone out to call Pain.
“Aye, ya old lady is out here talking ’bout her car’s fucked up. I’m at the BP on the corner by my crib,” he said when Pain answered the phone. He listened for a few minutes then his attention was pulled in another direction when heard some tires pulling out, only to look up and see that it was Nikki pulling out of the parking lot. “She just pulled out, man. I don’t know what’s up with ya girl, but she’s up to some shit. You need to check her ass,” he said and ended the call immediately.
Murder paid for his gas and headed back to his car. He didn’t have time to think about what type of shit Nikki was up to, but he did need to warn Law Baby to watch her back. He had a bad feeling about Nikki. She may have been Law Baby’s cousin, but she could be handled just like everybody else.
He walked in the house thinking that he didn’t remember changing the fragrance on the Plug-Ins he had around the house. Sniffing the air, he tried to follow where the strange scent was taking him. He took out his gun and released the safety just in case.
When Murder got to his room, he heard soft music playing. Pushing the door open with the barrel of the gun, he eased into of the room to see Lawrynn spread out on his big ass California King bed. She was naked as a newborn baby and caressing her body.
“Hey, Murder, baby welcome home,” she said sexily.
Murder felt his dick get hard as his mouth watered.
“You gonna fuck around and spoil my ass. Damn, baby girl,” he said as he slid his shoes off.
“If you get closer, I’m going to stop.” She moaned.
“What the hell you mean?” he said sadly.
“You heard me, daddy. I want you to see what I do when I miss you,” Lawrynn said.
She had never acted like this before. Murder had brought things out of her that she never knew were there.
“You know that key I gave you was only for emergencies,” he said jokingly.
“I needed to be close to you. I came over just to r
elax until you got here. I don’t know what happened. I started tingling all over. I took a cold shower, hoping that would help, but it didn’t. I just laid here, and next thing I know, I’m touching all over myself and wishing your hands were mine,” she told him as she slid a finger inside herself.
“My hands are right here, ma. You don’t have to do shit but lay there,” Murder said as he took his pants off.
He figured she told him that he couldn’t move, not what he couldn’t do while he stood there. He could clearly see her getting wetter and wetter. It was getting harder than ever for him not to go to her. He wanted her so bad that he had tunnel vision watching her fingers ease in and out of her pussy. She was torturing him. He hadn’t been inside her since the first time. Until he was sure she was over the shit that Pain took her through, he didn’t want to push up on her for sex. He felt that would just make her feel like he only wanted her for that alone, which was the furthest thing from the truth.
“You know you mean more than just sex to me, right?” Murder asked as he walked closer.
“We can talk about that later. I need to feel you now. Bring it to me, baby,” she told him.
He didn’t know what had come over her, but he sure wasn’t gonna talk her out of this shit.
“It’s your world, Queen,” he told her as he slid inside her with care and focus.
Just like the last time, he had to get his thoughts in order as he felt her walls envelope him with intensity.
“Mmmhm.” She moaned at the sensation of him filling her to capacity.
The one thing she learned the first time they made love was that he was definitely going to put her satisfaction and pleasure above his. Pain, on the other hand, always left her feeling incomplete and unfulfilled. She thought about a life without Murder for a brief second. Even though they were still new, it made her reach out and hold him tighter. She silently prayed that they would be together for the long haul, and not just for the mean time.
