“No I’m not going to say it. You know I love you but I’m just not feeling you right now. So bye.” I hung up the phone and Eddie passed me the blunt. I took a deep pull holding it in then blowing the smoke in Eddie’s face. Eddie stared at me hard making me a little uncomfortable. I wanted to know what was on his mind, everyday Eddie and me spent together drew us closer to each other. I asked Eddie what was on his mind for him to zone out the way he did. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not a punk bitch but I know I can’t beat no nigga. Eddie looked at me and I saw the grin on his face.

“Kevin was Jordan’s father?” he asked. I looked away and he grabbed my face gently and turned it back around to face him. Eddie didn’t know the level of mine and Kevin’s relationship. I wanted to keep it that way but knowing Eddie’s ass he would continue to ask me questions about my relationship. “Answer me Ma.” I nodded my head up and down; the lump in my throat prevented me from speaking. I wiped the tears that rolled down my cheek. I finally found my voice without choking up on my words and responded, “Yes he was Jordan’s father. I always had a crush on him but I was scared to fuck with him cause of my father and uncle. One night we kicked it and bam here we are now.” Standing up from the bed, I started walking towards the bed. I needed a minute alone, but I felt Eddie pull me to him. I turned to face him. He wiped the tears that rolled my face and whispered in my ear that everything was going to be alright and for me to not cry. He kissed my forehead and let me go. I walked inside the bathroom, closed the door behind me, slid down on the marble floor, and silently cried. I cried for my dead son, for my fucked up relationship, but I mostly cried for my healing and myself. That was the second time I’d almost lost my life. We didn’t have confirmation that Gina had hired the guys to shoot me causing my son to lose his life and almost costing me mine. I just had a gut feeling she had something to do with it. Nobody knew I was going to be at Hershey’s house and everybody knew who both Hershey and I were. For the guys to ask which one of us was Diva drew a red flag letting us know they weren’t from Harlem. The bullet wound was near my belly button and it was the size of a dime. I looked down at the bandage that covered the wound shaking my head. Eddie knocked on the door making me jump; he asked if I wanted something to eat while he was outside. I stood up, flushed the toilet, and opened the door. Eddie stepped inside the bathroom. He stood near the door staring at me and I smiled at him through the mirror as I washed my hands. “I want BBQ,” I told him walking back into my room with him following behind me. I sat on the bed and relit the blunt listening to Eddie go on and on about me not being able to go outside and how he had to meet up with his homeboy Cee. Putting his sneakers on and fixing his New York Yankee’s blue fitted cap Eddie checked his pockets for his money and cell. “I’ll find something in here to eat, just hurry up,” I said walking to the front door. I wrapped my arms around his neck and we kissed. Pulling away from him, he opened the door and walked out. Mary was walking inside the house carrying two shopping bags from the supermarket. I reached for a bag and she moved my hand.

“Are you supposed to be walking around Princess?” she asked going into the kitchen with me behind her. “Yes Ma, the doctor told me to walk around. I just can’t go up and down the stairs,” I told her. She started taking stuff out of the supermarket bags and putting them in the cabinets and refrigerator. She looked at me with tears in her eyes, I knew me getting shot had taken a toll on Mary. She was and would always be the mother that raised me. If my father or I were hurt, so was she. “Ok Princess, I just don’t need nothing else happening to you,” she said. I reassured her that nothing was going to happen to me again. I hugged her and I felt the tension she held leave. I asked her to pass me the bread. “I’m going upstairs, if you need me call me,” she said handing me the bread and grabbing her Gucci bag. I made myself a turkey and cheese sandwich with everything on it and walked back to my room.

  Chapter 11

  MOVING ON

Eddie came back that night to bring me some BBQ and then he left because something happened to one of the workers. Being that my father was gone, Eddie had to step up and handle the problem. I was able to go to school and boy was I happy; Hershey was too, she had her girl back. My father bought me a custom hot pink Mercedes Benz. He didn’t want me taking the trains or jumping in and out of cabs. Papa still wanted Bookie to drive me everywhere I needed to go even though I had my drivers permit. Kevin and I were on and off. I still had a key to his crib. Kevin started acting different towards me. He wanted to know where I was, who I was with, and he lost his mind when he said I couldn’t hang out with Hershey like I used to. I told him deuces; no nigga was going to come between my bestie and me. I told him niggas come a dime a dozen and if he didn’t like it he could leave me the fuck alone. The New Year came and we brought it in with a bang. My father rented a party boat and the whole GMM (Get Money Mafia), which is my father and uncle’s crew were there popping bottles and having a good time. We partied till the sun came up. Kevin kept giving both Eddie and I the evil eye the whole night but I didn’t care.

“What time you meeting Kevin?” Hershey asked as we was walking out her building. Her brother Barkeem was right behind us talking on his phone. I felt his eyes on me so I turned around and he grinned. “He said he was going to call me, he better hurry up cause Eddie wants to take me out,” I told her. Kevin wanted to take me out and Hershey and I came up with the perfect lie to tell my father just so I could spend some time with Kevin. “I like Eddie he’s cool, don’t fuck up what y’all got going on for Kevin. I need to tell you something and don’t get mad at me. I didn’t want to tell you this when you got out the hospital because you needed to heal,” she said looking at me. I raised my eyebrow looking at her; she took a deep breath in and finally spoke. What she said broke my heart into two. “Kevin’s still fucking with Gina; he moved them to a spot in the Bronx. Seems to me he’s playing you and word on the streets is Gina paid ole dude to come and beat your ass with some girls but I was there so he shot you,” she said looking at her Sidekick so she wouldn’t have to look me in my face. I grabbed the phone out of her hand making her look up at me. She had just confirmed what I knew all along. What hurt me the most was Kevin’s unfaithful ass was still sleeping with the bitch that killed our son. “Word? Bitch why you didn’t tell me this any sooner? I’m fucking this nigga and he’s fucking that bitch. I hate him but I got something for that bitch, mark my word on my dead son, I’m going to kill that bitch,” I said hugging her. “Don’t do nothing crazy; call me when you need me. You know I got your back,” she told me. Hershey was and always would be my backbone and shoulder to cry on, but I didn’t want her to get involved in the mess Gina and Kevin had started. I was about to bring Harlem to its knees. I told Hershey I’d call her if I needed her knowing it was lie.

As I was getting into my car, Barkeem walked up to us. “Diva when are you going to give me a chance to take you out?” Barkeem asked smiling a mouth full of ice. I blushed; I’d had a thing for Barkeem when we was younger. His chocolate complexion, broad shoulders 6’1’ build, with hazel brown eyes and deep waves always did it for me. However, he had too many females in Harlem for me to deal with him. “I’ll think about it,” I said pulling off laughing. I drove to the crib blasting Keyisha Cole’s CD.

When I got inside the house Eddie was sitting in the living room with my uncle and father, and then my eyes landed on Kevin. I got chills staring at all those deadly men that would kill and die for me. Something was happening amongst them and just my luck; I had walked into the lion’s den. Eddie nodded his head at me with a grin making me blush. “Hi everybody. Happy Valentine’s day,” I said hugging all of them and making my way towards my room. I felt both Kevin and Eddie’s eyes on me. “Diva come here,” my father said. I knew something was wrong right away. My father only called me by my name if he was pissed or he wanted answers. I walked over to where he was standing and looked at him. “Yes,” I said. “I’m going to ask you something and don’t lie. You know I hate th
at shit,” he said staring at me. I told him to spit the question out. I knew my father was still upset about the baby thing, but I also knew he couldn’t stay mad at me so whatever was going on, I knew it was deep. “Do you know the guy that raped you?” he asked. It looked like my uncle was hanging off the edge of the sofa waiting for the answer. I was caught off guard with the question but the lie rolled off my tongue easy. “No Daddy, I told you he came from behind me with a gun.”

“Are you lying to me?” he asked again looking into my eyes. I told him I wasn’t lying. I stood there in the middle of all them. My father asked me if I knew the guy would I tell him, and Kevin looked as if he was holding his breath the whole time. I told my father I would tell him then asked if I could go to my room; looking into his eyes the whole time. My father always told me you could tell if a person was lying because they would avoid eye contact. I was trying my hardest to not break into a sweat while standing in front of my father and uncle. They both said I would always sweat on my nose and forehead when I lied, that’s how they could tell when I was telling the truth or when I was lying. “Yes Princess, go on. Oh yeah, your cousin Mel said to call him,” he said kissing me on the forehead. I walked to my room and blew out my mouth. ”That was a close call! Now what does Mel want?” I asked myself. I looked on my bed and I saw a dozen peach roses and a big teddy bear with a big chocolate heart. I smiled, walked to my bed, and picked up the card.

“Happy Valentine’s Day Princess. I hope you enjoy this gift. Love, Daddy and Ma,” I smiled even wider when I saw the gold card inside that had a ten thousand spending limit. I walked to my closet, pulled out my red Gucci bustier mini dress with the matching red Gucci pumps, then I stripped down to my bra and boy shorts, and called my cousin. He picked up on the first ring. Jamel is my Aunt Joy’s only son; she named her only son after her baby brother. “Sup baby cousin, how you feeling?” he asked. I pulled my blunt from my nightstand and lit it. “I’m good, taking it one day at a time. Right now I’m blowing this spliff,” I told him blowing the smoke out of my mouth. He said he was sorry to hear about Jordan passing making my eyes get watery. Every time somebody said something about Jordan, I got emotional. He asked when we were going to hang out.

“I know, everybody’s sorry, but that’s life. When you want to chill? And I hope it’s not with that hoe Tonya, I can’t stand that girl,” I said and he laughed. Eddie walked in the room with the key I had given him. He saw what I had on and smirked, licking his lips. He placed a gift bag down on the nightstand and took the blunt that I passed him. I blew him a kiss “Hell nah, not with that bitch, I don’t fuck with her. I’m going to introduce you to my wifey Jahara,” Mel said laughing, “I know you’re not talking about goody two shoes JaJa? She’s a twin. Her mom and sister live on the West side,” I told him. “So you know her?” he asked. I laughed, making him laugh along with me. I wanted to know how the hell he managed to bang Jahara’s little goody two shoes ass. “Yeah I know her. We went to the same school. She lives with her strict ass aunt in Brooklyn. Hershey and me are cool with her and her twin’s crazy ass. You know she has sickle cell right?” I asked. “Yea I know all that, it’s good to know my peoples know my shorty’s history. I’m going to get up with you baby girl,” he said, “Alright Mel, I’m about to hit the shower. Tell auntie hi and Zion, she can call me,” I joked. “I got you cuzzo,” he said. We hung up and I turned to look at Eddie who eyes were low from the haze.

“Hi boo.” I stood up from the bed.

“Who was that?” he asked passing me the blunt back. I told him that was my cousin calling to check up on me to see how I was holding up and to also tell me he fucked with one of my homegirls. I asked him if we were still going out while climbing on top of him. He laid down and grabbed my waist. Eddie told me we were still on to hit the city as he started kissing and licking my fingertips. I mushed him in the forehead telling him he was always teasing me, getting wet to the point that I had to change my panties every time he was around and being disappointed when he wouldn’t give me no action. Putting the rest of the blunt out, I leaned on him laying my head on his chest. He rubbed my back. “Ma I think your pops knows about you and that funny nigga Kevin,” Eddie said. I lifted my head to look at him, asking him what he meant. “That shit that happened to you is killing your pops, and the fact that you lost your baby and almost lost your life is eating at him. Plus, the rumors going around that you and Kevin were together. Why do you think he asked you what went down today while all of us was here?” he asked. “Oh my God, do you think they’re going to hurt Kevin over some rumors? I know my father is dealing with a lot of bullshit and he’s stressed,” I said leaning back on him. “They’re not going to do nothing to Kevin, but are you going to tell your father about you and that lame nigga?” he asked. Shaking my head I said, “I don’t know, first I got to see where his head is at. You know how my father is, anyway what you want to do until it’s time to leave?” I asked sitting up on him as he traced my belly button.

“What I want to do you can’t handle,” he laughed.

“I can handle anything that comes my way the question is can you handle it?” I asked removing my bra. I let my titties free and Eddie’s eyes lit up. He licked his lips then grabbed my waist to pull me to him. We began kissing. I knew I was ready to move on, be with Eddie, and make love to him. I now knew what love was really about. What Kevin and I had was fun while it lasted. I’d always love him, but I wasn’t in love with him any longer. I was moving on with Eddie.

I helped Eddie take his Rocawear shirt off and kissed his chest all the way down to his navel. I undid his belt, slid his pants off, and then his boxers. He kicked both of them off and was laying in the bed naked like the day he was born; his dick was standing pretty with a pink mushroom head. “I see Daddy’s ready for me,” I said seductively. Eddie had a sexy grin on his face. I kissed the head then licked around it once. I put my hot mouth around his pole. Eddie was moaning and groaning out of control. “Damn Ma, that shit feels good,” he said breathing hard and running his fingers through my hair. I sucked his dick like it was a lollipop. I had never done that shit before, not even to Kevin. Eddie let out a loud grunt before busting his nut inside my mouth and down my throat. I swallowed every drop. Eddie lifted me up and kissed me. We tongued each other. “Sit on my face Ma,” he demanded. I did just that and he licked my clit working my pussy.

“Ed-die I’m cumming… don’t stop… that feels so good,” I yelled riding his tongue. My legs began to shake; I felt my orgasm coming and so did Eddie. He grabbed my legs tight and I moaned falling off him. He stood up, grabbed my legs, threw them over his shoulders, and he entered me with a gentle force causing me to scream in ecstasy. He was giving me deep powerful strokes. “Ma your pussy feels so good, tell me whose pussy is this?” he asked, moaning and licking my ear and nibbling on it. “Yours Daddy, oh my God, you feel so good,” I moaned scratching his back and moving my hips to meet his. “You like that?” he asked, stroking me long and hard and biting my nipples gently. He stopped in mid-stroke and laid down pulling me on top of him without coming out of me. I rode him like he was a bike.

“Slow down Ma, I’m not ready to cum,” he begged. I smirked, loving the look on his face. Kissing him then sliding my tongue on his lips made my pussy even wetter. He was still putting a killing to me from under me. “Damn,” he moaned. I got off him, got on all fours, and looked back at Eddie. He stood up, slapped my ass, and rubbed all over it. “Baby stop playing and put it in,” I begged. “I love to hear you beg,” he said slapping my ass again. I popped my ass for him.

“Please boo, I want to feel you back inside me,” I begged again looking into his sexy green eyes. He smirked then slid all ten inches back inside me. I felt like I couldn’t breathe; his dick game was on point. I threw that ass back to him as he banged my back out. Within five minutes of back shots, Eddie unloaded and spilled his seed inside me.

After our love session we laid in each other arms, sex was all in the air we
didn’t care about the time or anything. I called out to him as he slept. It had been two hours since we fell asleep. “Yes Ma?” he asked opening his eyes and smiling. “Eddie what is it that you like about me?” I asked staring in his eyes. He smiled again showing his dimples, and that smile I loved, his trademark, came on his face. “I don’t like anything about you. I love everything about you. Your smile, your temper, the way you whine and pout when things don’t go your way, your fine ass body, but most of all, I love you. You’re not like most females I dealt with before; you have a good head on your shoulders. You’re both street and book smart and that’s a plus. You don’t stress me out when I’m out getting that paper and you know what to say when it needs to be said,” he said moving hair from my face. I was floored he felt that way about me. “Baby you really love me? Or you just saying that cause I finally gave you the booty?” I asked smiling. “You got jokes Ma?” he asked sitting up and pulling me on top of him. We were face to face looking in each other eyes.
