The other Humanoid races and the Elemental Beasts that controlled large hordes of Elemental Beasts had also joined hands with the human factions. They also threatened the Devil race with dire consequences and they, too, were avoiding killing Fire fiends in large numbers. They knew that if the Heretical Fire Devil wasn’t killed quickly, Grandura would be entirely filled with Fire fiends after a decade or two at the current rate at which they were multiplying.

All this clearly increased the pressure on the Devil Kings but they had no idea at all about the sudden appearance of a Heretical Fiery Devil. As far as they knew Heretical Fiery Devils had already gone extinct on Grandura and would remain that way until a Fire Attribute Treasure Land birthed some Heretical Fiery Liquid – which had yet to happen according to their knowledge. The moment a Fire Attribute Treasure Land on Grandura birthed Heretical Fiery Liquid, those devils with a Cultivation Level of Late Immortal Saint Realm could clearly sense it, so naturally they were shocked by the sudden appearance of a Heretical Fiery Devil. They could only approach the followers of the Archdevil Mundus for help.

“Lords, what should we do?” one of the Devil Kings asked in an exasperated manner.

“We will personally head out to search for that bastard, so don’t worry. It won’t take long for us to find that Heretical Fire Devil. I will rip that bastard into small pieces for endangering the existence of the Devil race on Grandura,” one of the followers of Archdevil Devil Mundus said with a furious expression.

Their mood was already bad since they’d been reprimanded by Devil Marich for making a move on the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan. It was natural that their mood would worsen after they came to know about the new trouble that they needed to deal with.

The followers of Archdevil Mundus were certain that if the Heretical Fire Devil wasn’t found quickly and dealt with, a war might also start between Archdevil Mundus and the Divine Organization. There was an agreement between Archdevil Mundus and the Divine Organization which didn’t permit devils to completely annihilate human factions from the face of Grandura.

Archdevil Mundus had secretly asked them to make sure that nothing happened on Grandura that would trigger a war between him and the Divine Organization for the next million years. Such a dictate from Archdevil Mundus had startled them, but they could tell that their Lord must have his own reasons. It wasn’t that the Divine Organization was concerned about humans: on the contrary, it was concerned about its face. If humans perished from Grandura that would be the equivalent of a smack on the face. In anger the Divine Organization could definitely annihilate the Devil race on Grandura and that was something that would definitely lead to war between Archdevil Mundus and the Divine Organization.

The speed at which the Fire fiends were multiplying even alarmed them and, if that continued, in a few decades Grandura would be completely filled with Fire fiends. That was the reason they’d allowed the humans to kill the Heretical Fire Devil in the last war between human factions and devils: the number of Fire Devils had been increasing at a alarming pace at that time too. They could have personally killed it but that wouldn’t have been good for their image, so they allowed the humans to kill the Heretical Fire Devil instead. They’d also decided at that time to never allow the birth of another Heretical Fire Devil on Grandura.

The Devil Kings of Grandura nodded their heads in agreement, as they found merit in the words of the follower of Archdevil Mundus.

“Inform the human factions that the Heretical Fire Devil isn’t associated with us in any manner, but we will help them in any way possible to deal with it. Try to defuse the situation. In the meantime, we will continue searching for that bastard,” the other follower of Archdevil Mundus said with an angry expression.

The Devil Kings nodded their heads and quickly left the residence of the followers of Archdevil Mundus. The followers of Archdevil Mundus then headed out to search for the Heretical Fire Devil.

Ryan stopped refining skin as his Spatial pouch had started to vibrate. He quickly took out his Mental-message transmission orb, switched it on and connected with it.

“Ryan, I will be coming to pick you up in half an hour, so pack all your stuff,” Emilia’s frantic voice rang in his mind.

“Why mother?” Ryan couldn’t help but ask in a stunned manner via Mental-message transmission.

“Red Calamity has started on Grandura,” Emilia said in a horrified tone.

Ryan was speechless for a second when he heard Emilia’s words, as he hadn’t taken something like that into consideration at all when he’d started Red Calamity.

“Mother, there is no need to be frantic about it for now, as the Red Calamity has yet to spread on Shimmering Sky Continent,” Ryan said via Mental-message transmission as he tried to change his mother’s mind.

“How can you be so sure?” Emilia asked in confusion as the true spread of the Red Calamity wasn’t known even to the higher-ups of the different factions of Grandura. It was still under investigation.

“Tondenth had just received this news from other rulers of Starlight Forest,” Ryan said quickly, as he realized the blunder that he’d committed. He could tell from his mother’s tone that the true spread of the Red Calamity had yet to be ascertained by the different factions of Grandura.

“Oh!” Emilia said and couldn’t help but sigh with relief.

“Did he receive any other information?” Emilia couldn’t help but ask. She had literally believed Ryan’s words about the current status of Starlight Forest. The number of Elemental Beasts was manyfold higher than the number of humanoid individuals, so they could ascertain that quite quickly compared to Grandura’s different factions.

“No, but don’t worry. I will inform you at the earliest, if he tells me anything else,” Ryan said via Mental-message transmission and a smile appeared on his face. He could tell that her mother had believed his words.

“Inform me if at the earliest if Red Calamity spreads on Shimmering Sky Continent and I will come to pick you immediately,” Emilia said in a heartfelt manner.

“OK,” Ryan said via Mental-message transmission and his smile become more pronounced.

“How is your cultivation and comprehension in Sword-intent going?” Emilia asked in a concerned manner.

“Good. I advanced to Mid Mortal Lord realm some time ago and my comprehension in Sword-intent is also increasing at a rapid pace,” Ryan replied. Emilia was immediately elated on hearing this.

“Good! Good!” Emilia said rapturously. She and Ryan talked for a few more minutes before they ended their conversation. Ryan couldn’t help but sigh with relief. He then decided to contact Raymond, since Dragon Head Continent was the hot bed of Red Calamity at that moment.

“Hello Master, I just came to know about Red Calamity. Is everything alright at the sect?” Ryan said in a concerned manner the moment his Mental-message transmission orb connected to Raymond’s, even though he’d made sure that Fire Fiends wouldn’t invade the territory of Divine Martial Sect.

“Everything is fine here at present but things could get out of hand any moment,” Raymond said via Mental-message transmission in a gloomy tone.

“Master, I suggest you ask Sect Head to relocate everyone at Divine Martial Sect somewhere safe,” Ryan said via Mental-message transmission. He suggested this even though he knew it wasn’t required, as it would sound a normal given the situation.

“Yeah, things are moving in that direction. And also, can I ask you not to do anything to create trouble for the Dark Moon Family Clan for the time being?” Raymond asked via Mental-message transmission.

“Don’t worry Master. I understand your intentions,” Ryan said as an evil smile appeared on his face.

“Good that you understand. In the current times, we need to support each other and put grievances to the side,” Raymond said in a concerned manner via Mental-message transmission.

  “Yes Master,” Ryan s
aid, though he couldn’t help but sigh. He felt that Raymond was too kind-hearted to put aside grievances for the greater good of the Human race. Ryan and Raymond then talked about a few other things before they ended their conversation.

Ryan then decided to contact his Grandfather and company though he was certain that they were most likely being updated by his mother on a regular basis, since they didn’t contact him. He could tell that they didn’t wish to disturb him during these crucial months before the opening of the Ancient Legacy Land.

“Grandfather it’s me,” Ryan said the moment his Mental-message transmission connected to Oscar’s.

“How is your cultivation and comprehension of Sword-intent getting on?” Oscar asked in a jolly mood via Mental-message transmission, which made Ryan completely certain that his mother was updating him regularly.

“Grandfather. I overcame my bottleneck in comprehending Sword-intent and will soon comprehend the First Realm of Sword-intent. I also advanced to Mid Mortal Lord Realm some time ago,” Ryan said happily.

“Good!” Oscar said in a convivial manner via Mental-message transmission.

“Where is grandmother and the rest?” Ryan asked.

“Julia and the rest have gone for war drills while your cousins that can cultivate have gone to Cultivation School and the ones that are unable to cultivate should be at home with their nannies,” Oscar replied.

“Oh!” Ryan said somewhat discouraged. He could tell that Oscar was most likely not at Eternity Family Clan from his words.

“You can talk to them later but first concentrate on increasing your personal strength, as that’s what will count inside the Ancient Legacy Land,” Oscar said in an encouraging manner.

“I understand Grandfather,” Ryan said via Mental-message transmission.

Ryan and Oscar talked for quite some time before they stopped. Ryan then once again started to refine his skin to attain Pseudo Immortal Skin.

  Ch.18

At this moment, a heated discussion was taking place in one of the Meeting halls of the Calm Sea Sect. The heads of all the factions of Grandura were present. The Devil race had also sent a representative. They were discussing how they should deal with the Red Calamity, as the higher-ups of the Main branches of the different Grandura factions hadn’t dispatched reinforcements to Grandura but had asked their respective Grandura branches to first collaborate with other Grandura factions to try and find the Heretical Fire Devil and eliminate it themselves.

The higher-ups of the Main branches of the different factions were certain that the Heretical Fire Devil was most likely in the Mortal Realm or the Immortal Realm and could easily be eliminated by the Martial Artists of their respective factions, as long as they were able to find it. The fact that a few factions of Grandura already had Martial Artists beyond the Immortal Realm in their ranks at this moment was also one of the reasons.

The Calm Sea Sect was a faction that had no enmity with any of the factions of Grandura. This was why it had been chosen as the location for such an important meeting. It also had its Main branch in the Divine Universe, which was an A Grade faction.

Nero and Rudolf weren’t taking part in the meeting under the instructions of Sheldon and his companions though they’d been invited. Since most factions had decided to turn their backs towards them while the Star Alliance had been creating trouble for them, it was natural that they would take such a decision. He and his companions had confidence in their strength to keep both their family clans safe even if all the other factions were to just perish in the Red Calamity.

The source of this confidence stemmed from the fact that Sheldon possessed an Evil Fire Spirit with a Cultivation Level in God Realm. Sheldon was certain that his Inferno Undead creature would even be able to get rid of Fire-fiend Lords given its terrifying combat strength and it being unkillable as long as he was alive. Now that all of Grandura had plunged into chaos the pressure from the Star Alliance on the Heaven Sundering Family Clan and the Eternity Family Clan had completely disappeared, which was a good thing for them. Sheldon and his companions had also sent a Mental-message transmission to Heron and Herman informing them about the Red Calamity on Grandura and their decision to boycott the meeting called by the Calm Sea Sect.

“I wish to tell everyone that we have nothing to do with this Red Calamity. If you guys find the Heretical Fire Devil, feel free to hack it into a million pieces. We won’t utter a word,” the representatives of the Devil race said in a dismal manner.

“You guys can’t just wash your hands of this situation like that! We know that devils with Late Immortal Saint Realm Cultivation Level can sense Heretical Fiery Liquid the moment it’s birthed anywhere on Grandura,” one of the Faction Heads said angrily.

“This time we didn’t sense the birth of the Heretical Fire Devil anywhere on Grandura, so it was most likely birthed in some faction’s Spatial space,” the representative of the Devil race said aggressively. None of the Faction Heads could rebut the envoy of the Devil race, as the possibility of something like that couldn’t be negated.

“That Heretical Fire Devil is also your responsibility since it is a devil,” the Head of the Grandura branch of Calamity Sect said in angry manner.

“We are sure that it wasn’t a devil by birth,” the representative of the Devil race said sarcastically. The Devil race didn’t consider Heretical Fire Devils as true devils, if they weren’t originally devils and it wasn’t difficult for them to tell that after seeing one.

“Let’s not fight. Devil Li, what are the chances of your Lords being successful in finding that Heretical Fire Devil?” the Head of the Calm Sea Sect asked with a concerned expression.

“Their chances of success are definitely higher than the Divination Masters of your race. If they can’t find that Heretical Fire Devil, then I don’t think anyone else will be successful,” Devil Li said with full confidence.

All the Divination Masters from the human factions were extremely frustrated, as they were unable to find even an inkling of information regarding the Heretical Fire Devil. The reason behind their failure was quite simple. They were searching for a Heretical Fire Devil, while in reality there was none, so naturally they didn’t get any reply from the heavens.

The expression of the Head of the Grandura branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan, Richard, underwent a drastic change as he received the news that a large number of Fire fiends were attacking the Treasure Lands in the inner regions of Wailing Ravines and were steadily taking control of the entire Wailing Ravines. He cursed the luck of his Family Clan as its members had been busy harvesting the numerous Heavenly Treasures that had been left by them in their Treasure Lands, so that their grades could increase with the passage of time, right before the Fire fiends attacked. He was also informed that only half of the Heavenly Treasures had been harvested, while half of the remaining ones had already been devoured by the Fire fiends. This fact made his heart ache and made him extremely furious. He wanted to slaughter the Fire fiends for doing that.

“The Fire fiends are currently attacking the High-grade Treasure Lands of my Family Clan and will soon take over the entire Wailing Ravines. If the Heretical Fire Devil isn’t found quickly, then the ancestors of my faction will start slaughtering the Fire fiends in large numbers to push them out of Wailing Ravines irrespective of the consequences,” Richard said in a determined tone, though he was not that alarmed as the Martial Artists from the Main branch of the Dark Moon Family Clan were still at the Grandura branch of the family clan to hold the fort.

“Don’t be in a haste to kill them. If Fire-fiend Lords appear as a result, then they might endanger the factions of Grandura, that don’t have beings with Cultivation Levels beyond Immortal Realm in their ranks. Your Dark Moon Family Clan will be responsible for their annihilation,” the Head of the Calm Sea Sect said ominously.

“What do you want us to do then?! Let those Fire fiends annihilate our Grandura branch?!” Richard said with blood-shot eyes.

  “Just tempora
rily allow those Fire fiends to rampage around in Wailing Ravine and erect powerful barriers around your family clan. Your Main branch’s ancestors can easily make sure of your Grandura branch’s safety,” the Calm Sea Sect Head said angrily. The other Faction Heads shared this view too.

“I suggest that you guys find the Heretical Fire Devil quickly. We won’t tolerate those Fire fiends in our territory for long irrespective of the consequences,” Richard said in a huff.

The discussion in the Meeting room continued while all the Faction Heads dispatched a few hundred more powerful Martial Artists from their respective factions to search for the Heretical Fire Devil.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

Ryan felt he could attain Pseudo Immortal Skin at any moment.

  Boom!!!

  Boom!!!

Two small explosions occurred inside his body. Because he’d achieved Pseudo Immortal Skin, both his Death Fire Dual Attribute Soul Cores had advanced to Late Mortal King Realm. The purity of the Liquid Spirit in both his Soul Cores increased dramatically too. A delighted expression appeared on Ryan’s face as he sensed these changes occurring in his body. The newly formed high-purity Liquid Spirit Power coursed through his body in turn strengthening it.

Ryan could feel explosive power in every part of his body. He was certain that now he could easily deal with Late Mortal Emperor Realm Martial Artists with extreme ease and even contend with Early Mortal Sage Realm beings if he used Spirit Power too. His bodily toughness had increased to a whole new level. Even Late Mortal Sage Realm Martial Artists would be unable to injure him at all and Early Mortal Saint Realm Martial Artists would have a hard time harming him. The strength of his soul had also increased and was equivalent to that of a Late Mortal Sage Realm Martial Artist. His Soul attacks might even threaten the lives of Late Mortal Sage Realm beings. The range of his Soul-sense had once again increased, so it now had a range of two hundred fifty meters, almost double the range of any Late Mortal King Realm Martial Artist.
