Dear Diary, I Have A Mate

  “Babe, feel it!”

Ty put his hand on my tummy and nearly wet himself. The smile on his face was bigger than any smile I have ever seen.

He then scooped me up in his arms and carried me to the nurse's room.

“Hey I remember this room.” I laughed. That seemed so long ago.

“Hey can you check something for me?” Ty asked.

  “Of course.” She smiled.

Ty whispered something to her, making her grin.

  “What?” I asked.

“I'm just going to place this on your stomach quickly dear.” Nurse Sherry smiled.

  “Okay.” I shrugged.

“Look up on the screen. That there is your baby

  “I'm pregnant?” I screamed.

“Yes ma'am. You're one month along.” She nodded.

  “Ty we're having a baby!”

He nodded; I pulled him in for a hug and cried. I'm carrying Tyson's baby, a little miracle.

I bet the baby will have his brown eyes!

“I love this little thing so much already,” I sobbed, rubbing my stomach.

“You are going to be a great mommy Ar.” Ty smiled.

“Are you kidding? You are going to be a great daddy.” I grinned.

This baby was just extra proof of our love.

  * * *

My mom is ecstatic that she is a grandma! Audrey is also excited about the baby. She helps me come up with names and we talk about how cute he or she is going to be all time.

Ty is more protective than ever because the first few months of a baby with wolf blood is crucial.

Ty tells me that it will be in our baby's blood; that it doesn't mean the baby will be a wolf but it will have a mate. But our child could be a wolf.

“Ty, I'm fine,” I sighed, standing up to use the bathroom.

“I know Ar, but you need to rest.”

“Walking is good Ty,” I protested, waddling to the bathroom.

“The baby is growing fast babe. We have to be careful.”

“You stressing me out isn't helping,” I sang, sitting on the toilet. I didn't even care that Ty was in the bathroom with me.

He shut the door and rolled his eyes. Man it felt good to relieve my bladder.

“All I'm saying is you need to let me help more.” He pouted.

  “Okay babe.”

“Our boy has to be healthy and strong like his daddy.” Ty grinned.

I snorted and stood up from the toilet and washed my hands.

“Well since she is a girl your point is invalid.” I shrugged.

Ty and I have been on this for the past two months! He thinks we are having a boy for sure but I knew in my heart that it was a girl.

“Regardless you need to rest.” Ty smirked, lifting me up and carrying me to the bedroom.

“Ty, this isn't necessary,” I groaned, sitting up.

“Babe we can't take chances,” he replied, grabbing my hand. He then flipped on The Last Song, making me smile.

“Babe, babe she's kicking, aww she must have heard The Last Song,” I cooed.

“He's telling you to change the channel.” Ty smirked, touching my stomach and rubbing it.

“Hi baby, it's your daddy,” he cooed, kissing my tummy.

“And your mommy whom you like better,” I added, placing my hand on my stomach.

“I can't argue with that.” Ty shrugged.

  I laughed and kissed him.

I can't believe we are parents!

  * * *

“Ty, Ty wake up,” I sobbed. My stomach hurts so badly!

  “What, what's wrong?” Ty panicked.

  “My stomach,” I cried.

  “NURSE!” Ty screamed.

The nurse came racing into the room.

“She's in a lot of pain,” Ty growled.

“Bring her down alpha,” Sherry said in panic.

Ty scooped me up and ran down to the hospital room. He placed me on the bed and held my hands. I leaned my head into him, groaning in pain.

“What's wrong with my baby?” I cried.

  “Shh,” Ty soothed.

“Please help my baby,” I cried to Sherry who was racing around the room.

  “Please,” I sobbed.

  * * *

It has been two hours now. Sherry gave me painkillers that are safe to take during pregnancy and now she is running her final tests.

“What seems to have happened is your baby just hit a growth spurt. You have now reached three months. The baby is perfectly healthy.” She smiled.

  “Really?” I smiled.

  “Yes.” She smiled.

“Why is Aria feeling so much pain?” Ty asked. Had he been crying?

I took his hand in mine for comfort.

“Aria, being as little as she is, will feel a little more pain during the growth spurts because you have quite the little chunker in there,” Sherry pointed out.

  “Our baby's a chunker?” I laughed.

  “Yes, it is.” Ty chuckled.

I laughed and leaned my head against him; our baby is healthy and that's all that matters.

  Chapter 38

  Dear Diary,

We will find out the baby’s gender today!

  ~Aria

“Fourth month.” I smiled, kissing Ty; we only have two more to go after this. This pregnancy is flying by but I can't complain. I just want to hold my baby in my arms and kiss its head.

Our baby will be fully developed at six months in my womb because of the wolf blood.

Today we find out if it is a boy or girl, which is a relief because I'm tired of referring to the baby as “the baby” or “it.”

“I can't wait until I prove you wrong.” Ty beamed.

“I can't wait to teach you that I'm always right,” I replied.

I walked into the room with a smile.

  “Ready?” Sherry smiled.

“Ready.” Ty and I both grinned.

Regardless of gender, it will be the most loved child in the world.

However, words can't describe the feeling that ran through me when Sherry said the words “It's a girl.”

“A girl?” I shouted, tears running down my face.

“Yes, and a healthy one at that.” She nodded.

“I told you.” I sobbed, socking Ty in the arm.

“She's going to be a daddy's girl.” Ty smiled but a few tears escaped from his eyes as well.

“Aww babe, a little me running around.” I laughed.

“I wouldn't want it any other way.” He chuckled.

At that moment I truly felt complete. In two months Ty and I would have a daughter, and man would she be the most spoiled girl in the world with two parents who love each other and her to no end.

  * * *

“I'm not doing that.” I groaned.

“Come on. That's a cute name,” Ty protested.

“I know what it's like to have a boy middle name as a girl. I'm not doing that to her.”

“What name?” Carter asked, plopping down on the couch.

“I'm not telling you because you are going to side with Tyson,” I sighed.

There have been a lot of name ideas floating around lately. Everyone and I do mean everyone had ideas and suggestions: names with meanings, cute names, celebrity names. I'm happy that the pack members have their ideas and Emmalee and my mother have theirs, but at the end of the day it's our decision.

I can't say I never thought of putting our names together. I mean it would have meaning and everything but I haven't heard a name that clicked yet. I think when I hear the perfect one that will forever be my daughter's name. I will just know.

“As the baby’s favorite uncle ever I should have a say.” Carter pouted.

  “You're a pain.” I laughed.

  “Tell him.” Ty pushed.

“Kayla Dalton James Benson,” I muttered. Ty really liked this name but I’m not sold on the name Kayla, and I definitely didn't want her to have a boy name as a middle name, let alone two.
/>   “Kaya? Who came up with that?” Carter asked.

  “KAYA!” I shouted. [k-uh]

“What?” Carter asked slightly taken aback.

“That's the perfect name.” I smiled. In that moment, with his lack of focus, Carter came up with the perfect name: Kaya.

  “I'm confused,” Carter announced.

“She said Kayla.” Tyson chuckled, placing emphasis on the l.

“Oh, well Kaya's cute.” Carter shrugged.

“I think Kaya would be perfect.” Tyson agreed.

“But she is not having two middle names especially James,” I replied.

“But then the name will have meaning.” Ty commented.

Carter rolled his eyes at us and then patted my stomach.

“Your parents are crazy Kaya, I'll talk to you later,” Carter cooed, leaving.

  “Psycho!” I called after him.

Ty picked me up and placed me on his lap. He started playing with my hair, making me relax.

  “Why?” he asked.

A simple word, yet I knew exactly what he was talking about.

“My dad's middle name was James.”

He thought about it for a minute and nodded.

“Okay we won't use it.” He chuckled.

“How about Alee?” I suggested. [Aly]

  “Alee?” he asked.

“Yeah because your mom's name's is Emmalee and my mom's name is Aleeah so Alee is in both of their names.”

  “Kaya Alee Benson,” Ty confirmed.

“Do you like it?” I asked.

  “I love it.” He grinned.

“Great.” I smiled. Finally, the perfect name and it did have meaning.

I cannot wait to call my daughter Kaya Alee Benson, a name I will never grow tired of.

  * * *

“I just love feeling her kick,” Audrey gushed.

“I know. It’s just proof that there's a baby in there.” I laughed.

“Did you ever picture yourself as a mom?” Audrey asked.

“I've always wanted to be a mom but I never pictured myself with a guy or even being pregnant.”

“You wanted it to be a girl though.” She smiled.

“Yeah I just want to be able to do the fun mother-daughter things and I'm sure Ty and I will have another one down the road.”

“I'm sure you will, and one thing’s for sure, Kaya is going to be beautiful.” She smiled.

“Thanks. What about you and Carter?” I asked.

  “What?” She blushed.

“Any baby making practicing going on?” I laughed.

  “No.” She groaned.

“It's okay the boys are out buying a crib. They can't hear us.” I laughed.

“I know but no we haven't,” she whispered.

“Yeah? Well you guys are just so cute together,” I gushed.

  “Thanks.” She laughed.

“Girl, quit blushing. The psychos are back.” I laughed, seeing them approach the door. Ty was carrying a huge box under his arm.

“Why are you blushing?” Carter smirked, kissing Audrey.

“You will never know,” I cut in, bouncing up to Ty.

“I want to know.” Ty pouted but he kissed me anyways.

He set down the box, giving me a look of the picture on the side.

“You found a white one.” I grinned.

“Of course I did.” He smirked, flexing his muscles.

“That has nothing to do with finding a crib,” I scoffed.

“Yes, it does,” he scoffed back. I laughed making him grin.

“I found you a bed Miss Kaya,” Ty added, leaning down to talk with my stomach.

I laughed and pushed at him because I wanted to hug him. He chuckled and then wrapped me in his arms and kissed my head.

“I love you,” he mumbled into my hair.

“I love you too,” I mumbled into his chest.

  * * *

We were now lying in bed watching She's the Man.

I was in deep thought and not really watching the movie.

I mean I want to tell Kaya that her daddy saved me but I don't know if I want her knowing all the details of my life.

I want her knowing that you always have to stand up for yourself and not let anyone push you around. I'm so scared and I haven't even brought her into the world yet.

I just never want her getting hurt.

Mostly I want to be the kind of mother like Emmalee, Ty's mom. I want to take her shopping and be there when she has her first crush. I just can't wait to be there for her.

I just never had a role model like that. I really hope Kaya will want to do these things with me. I want to be able to connect with her more than anything.

I know the connection when I talk to her and she kicks but when she's actually here I hope I can reach her like a mother was supposed to be able to do.

“You okay Ar?” Ty asked, ripping me out of my thoughts.

“Yeah.” I smiled however I didn't look at him.

  “Aria.” He demanded.

I looked over and then back at the movie.

“Arrabella.” He sighed, grabbing my face.

“What?” I laughed, pushing at his hands. He let go of my face, and I stared into his brown eyes.

“You want to tell me what's been going through that brain of yours for the past half hour?” He chuckled.

  “Nope,” I mocked.

  “Yep,” he teased.

“I was just thinking about Kaya.”

  “What about her?”

“I was just thinking about how I don't really know how to be a mom,” I sighed.

“What? You are going to be a great mom.”

“No Ty, I mean I didn't have a mom growing up so I'm not going to know what I'm doing,” I groaned.

“Aria, I've seen you with the babies in the pack and how you are with talking to people like Audrey and Addie. You are going to be a natural.” He soothed.

  “You think so?”

  “I know so.” He grinned.

  “Thanks babe.” I laughed.

I snuggled into him and closed my eyes. Maybe I will be a natural.

  Chapter 39

  Dear Diary,

It's almost time for Kaya to arrive!

I can't wait to see her.

  ~Aria

“Where are we going?” I asked.

  “You'll see.” Ty chuckled.

He had his hands over my eyes. He took his hands off and I rolled my eyes.

“You led me through the house to come to the living room?” I laughed.

That is until Ty flicked on a light and a booming “SURPRISE” hit my ears.

I looked at the scene in front of me and tears started forming in my eyes.

There was a big banner above them saying 'Congratulations, It's A Girl.'

There were pink balloons and streamers everywhere!

I saw Carter and Audrey and Carter's parents. I was surprised to see Paxton and Addie. Then my eyes found Ty's parents and my mom.

There were also some other pack members I still don't know too well yet. I did however recognize Jason and Aiden. Also, I remember Jason's mate Catalina; I talked to her a while back and she is really nice.

  “You guys,” I sobbed.

A collective “Aww” resounded, making me laugh at myself for crying.

I punched Ty and then hugged him.

  “You're a dork,” I mumbled.

  “I know babe.” He chuckled.

Everyone wanted to come up and congratulate me. Ty would be making an announcement and I would tell everyone the name we chose then.

I got various gifts, well Kaya did.

Carter and Audrey got Kaya a purple teddy bear that said to Kaya on the bear's stomach and love Auntie Audrey and Uncle Carter on its back. Now I know Carter isn't Ty's brother but neither Ty nor I have siblings and so Kaya will now have an uncle and aunt, a crazy uncle but a good one that will love her. Also, when Carter and Audrey have children it will give Kaya the opportunity to have
cousins!

My mother made Kaya a blanket; it was purple, pink, and yellow.

Ty's parents gave us a year's supply of diapers, a bunch of clothes, and pacifiers.

Addie and Paxton brought us a baby swing.

We also received a lot of stuffed animals, bibs, a high chair, and a lot of different mats, a playpen, and a camera. I know for sure I will use that camera and take as many pictures as possible, but hey you only regret the ones you don't take.

Ty stood up and then helped me up, and we made our way to the front of the room.

“We would just like to thank everyone for coming, also thank you for all the generous gifts. It's really great to know we are bringing our daughter into such a wonderful house, pack, and family. Aria is going to tell you the name we have chosen for our daughter.” Ty grinned.

“Well her first name is Kaya and some of the credit for that name goes to Carter's hearing deficiency,” I started. The crowd chuckled and I saw Carter pout. “Her middle name Alee spelled A-L-E-E because the name Alee is both in Ty's mom's name and my mother's name.”

“So Kaya Alee Benson,” Tyson announced.

Everyone clapped and nodded in agreement with the name, which made me smile because I love our baby's name.

After that we had cake and a lot of the people left.

My mom and Ty's parents, who I now know live in a house about mile from here straight back in the woods, stayed to help. My mom also stayed to help clean up.

“Aria, sit down. We got this,” Emmalee scolded.

“Alright,” I sighed, slowly sitting down.

My mom smiled and sat next to me.

“I am so proud of you,” she sobbed, hugging me.

  “Thanks mom.” I smiled.

“What did Tyson mean when he said pack?” she asked.

“It's how they refer to themselves because there are a lot of people living here,” I made up on the spot. Wow that was pretty impressive.

  “Oh okay.” She chuckled.

“So Isaac left then?” I confirmed.

“Yes, he is back living with his mom.” She nodded.

  “Good.” I sighed in relief.

“I need to steal Aria away for a quick second.” Ty smiled.
