THE SACRIFICE: Secret Society Romance (4Horsemen Series Book 3) Page 14

by Elena Monroe

“So, who’s stalking who now, huh? It’s kind of like phone sex… meeting in the middle but it’d be so much better together...” Giving me a wink, he nudged me to eat as he pushed the plate forward.

Trying to cover up the flush taking over my cheeks, I stole a fry chomping on it with a cheeky smile letting my happy dance crawl it’s way out.

“What is it that you do at The Clave? That building has security like no other. Barely made it up to your floor alive.” I watched him tense and I knew right then whatever he did it was impressive enough to use in his favor.

“It’s a financial firm, money and shit. Nothing fun. At this point I work mostly on social media and other business online. I’m a CEO with my bros - Vic, Grimm, and Bowen - but just between us, Vic is just a straight up dick.” His voice smoothed out despite the tension in his shoulders that I could spot.

He just called the guy who offered to off Dove for me a dick… clearly there’s more to that story.

  “Explains the funds, Richie Rich.”

“The wing tattoo, what’s it mean?” His fingers swept down my palm, forcing it to fall open more like a magic trick. I held my breath, feeling it go shallow while his fingers still traced mine to get a better look at the wing tattooed on the inside of my wrist.

“You need two wings to fly. I only have one half and the other half is… just as secret as your ‘job’. We can’t fool each other.”

Smiling at me, he pounced on the burgers arriving in front of us. Talking with a mouth full, “Touchè, Birdy. I’ll just call it Romeo and Juliet until we figure it out.”

There wasn’t much doubt in my mind when he said he’d figure out a way. Khaos was full of ideas and persistence that I knew from personal experience.

After we ate, he held out a hand demanding my phone when I handed him the pen off the receipt to write my number instead. Giving him my phone was a risk that Dove or Ears could text at the wrong time and beg more questions than I knew how to explain.

I just supported his stalking and made it that much easier. I wanted to run just for the hell of him chasing, but I stayed planted.

Once we went our separate ways, a text appeared across my screen still in my hand.

UNKNOWN: I’m having a costume party. I want you to come - both ways.

ME: It’s not even Halloween yet… freak.

UNKNOWN: It’s my specialty. Just be there Saturday.

UNKNOWN: Costumes are required, Birdy. We can have our date first if that makes saying yes easier.

Tucking my phone back into my overalls, I started walking back to my van in search of what I knew I needed before seeing Dove tonight. I was due to check in and coming empty handed wasn’t ever an option.

Opening the back of my van, I crawled in over the bed and reached underneath for the lock box I kept hidden in case of an emergency. Opening the lid, I found the diamonds and watches I had stolen for myself while stealing for the Clipped Wings.

The stash was my freedom money saved for the day I could become even more of a ghost and disappear, but we were paid in pennies making it difficult to not dip into my savings.

Picking up two watches and a diamond tennis bracelet, I pushed them into a small silk baggy to bring with me to Dove’s, penance for not having any new information again other than my sinking dread telling me I liked Khaos way more than I should.

My legs were still feeling like pulled taffy when I decided to break the bank and order a ride to Dove’s place. I would ask Ears but he had a strict no after dark policy when it came to Dove and the Clipped Wings. He always said shit gets too real and violent after dusk because no one is willing to rip off your fingernails in the daylight.

  I believed him.

I had only seen Dove kill three men since I had been by his side. One man cornered me for information and I stabbed him in the ribs forcing Dove to finish the job, the other was someone who crossed him, and the last was part of LAPD when he got greedy taking money off the top.

All three died quickly with a bullet to the skull and almost always painted me with blood splatter, not at all how gruesome Ears made up in his head. No one had time to dedicate to the dead that way.

They sent you to hell not to be pampered on your way down. Not when it wasn’t goodbye - we would all meet again in the same place just at different times.

Sitting in the back seat of a stranger's car, I had to force myself to get out. Stepping onto the pavement I looked back inside the car one last time like my pleading eyes had the ability to stop my life from sucking, all it took was one person, but this guy wasn’t him.

Pressing the code into the gate, I watched it open, too lazy to scale the side or be stealth, he was the one expecting me, so I was going to waltz inside like I belonged here.

Hamilton pushed out a closed fist I pounded as I headed inside with my stolen goods ready to be my bargaining chips. As soon as I was through the door, I knew the atmosphere was different, lighter, like there was good news floating around somewhere instead of skipping us like always.

Dove was swaying to music while beautiful girls circled him like hungry sharks and there were a few scattered men, but he liked the attention to be on himself until he had chosen his fate of the night. Blonde, brunette, redhead… whatever he preferred. That’s how I acquired the taste, certainly not from him but from the girls he would invite into our bed.

Much like Khaos, he had rules. I always had to be there so he could have his cake and eat it too.

I set the silk bag on the table behind the couch when his hands found my hips trying to get me to move to the rhythm with him. Stiffening under his touch, he whispered into my ear while he pushed my ass into his crotch. “The deal went through, Little Bird. We’re going to be rich…”

He meant he was going to be richer while he so graciously paid me in guaranteed days.

Now I understand the change in the air here. He had been pressing some big dealer to let him into his flood, an alliance and partnership, that must have been finalized tonight.

His lips found my ear again and I could feel his excitement digging into my backside when he whispered, “Let’s celebrate, you and me.”

The only times he wanted me alone was to put me in my place or not do much work when it came to the bedroom. Either way, I wasn’t benefiting.

Wiggling my ass away from his crotch, I twisted in his arms, “Let me go shower. I’ve been running around and you have guests…” I was hoping that was enough to keep him at bay when I made a break for it.

Shouting up towards me, I took the stairs two at a time testing my already sore muscles, “Don’t keep me waiting, Little Bird.”

Closing myself in the bathroom, I scrambled for any kind of relief, sedative- anything to make me feel not as aware as I was right now. I would even settle for a melatonin if he had any. Rifling through the medicine cabinet, I found the clear baggy from Khaos’s party almost instantly, staring me in the face like the salvation I needed.

It was always him saving me.

Pulling on the baggy, I dug inside trying to figure out the difference between the pills when I found the white heart shaped one Kennedy fed to me with her tongue. This time was different, Dove was celebrating and it wasn’t going to transpire when we were both half asleep. I wasn’t prepared to feel every painful thrust of him so soon after the high of Khaos.

Swallowing the pill down and cupping some water in my hand, I undressed before stepping into the shower. I needed to wash Khaos off before I could offer myself up to Dove.

The shower head poured down on me hard enough to push all the extra thoughts from my mind as the Molly kicked into gear. I could feel myself getting turned on by my own touch and that was purely to soap off the sand.

I felt like Khaos and how I imagined he turned himself on.

Once the sand and cologne were scrubbed from my body, I stepped out into the steamy bathroom grabbing a towel to wrap around my body. I thought I had locked the door behind me, but the Molly was making it hard
to remember the last few minutes that were soaked in sexual tension.

Dove pushed open the door while I was standing there still in a towel trying to focus on my reflection when I felt his lips graze my neck and his hands grasp at the towel pulling it up my thighs. “I waited long enough, Little Bird.”

Clamping down my lashes, I let the Molly take over and I let myself get lost in this fantasy that Khaos was the one at my back instead.

“Just Birdy,” it came out as a whimper as his touch collided with my own skin.

I could feel his lips tug into a smile when the towel fell to the floor, leaving me exposed in the foggy mirror. Yanking my hips backwards, his hand smoothed up my spine forcing me to bend for him. I felt the K on the tip of my tongue as I felt Dove’s fingers dip between my thighs. I was still closing my eyes when his free hand collided with my ass, harder than I expected, while his other fingers had my ass pushing back for more.

I was craving more of Khaos when I was settling for less.

“You want to be called Birdy, huh?” His hand worked between my thighs tirelessly as I moaned my way through feelings Dove hasn’t been able to give me since he had been dipping into my barely legal honey pot.

In my mind, I was practically shouting Khaos’s name as the feeling of butterflies in the pit of my stomach tried to take over my whole body while I dipped my hips further onto his fingers. His lips were pressed against the shell of my ear whispering the nickname only Khaos used, before him it was Little Bird.

“Wet, aren’t you?” His husky voice was spurring me on, but not in the way he hoped. I was still focused on my savior as my wetness ran down the inside of my thighs.

Whimpers and moans escaped my mouth while I monitored for anything starting with a K as I begged him not to stop.

I felt his teeth latch onto my neck and his groin press into my ass, shoving me into the counter while I felt the orgasm rise inside me. The Molly only made every feeling amplified times one hundred.

Tensing against the counter, I bit my lip and swayed my hips slowly letting the orgasm wash over me like second nature even though it wasn’t in Dove’s nature at all to even pay attention to if you finished. Swallowing down the fantasy as it started to fade, and the post orgasm glow did too, I unclamped my eyes to see Dove looking satisfied for once.

  Not mildly content or complacent.

Satisfied, like I did something right with no extra lip, except returning the favor I was about to do. Nothing came free. Not even orgasms.

Turning around to face him, we were both upright when I leaned into him still soaring off the orgasm and Molly I whispered between us. “Let me clean up, I’ll be right in…” I wanted a few minutes to myself without his presence ruining the feelings that belonged to my fantasy.

  Khaos.

Fishing my phone out of the small pile of clothes on the bathroom floor, I sent Khaos a text while the Molly still made me brave.

ME: I agree to any way you want me to come.

UNKNOWN: Wait, so you’re agreeing to the date and what else exactly? Use your words.

ME: I’ll go slow. I like it that way anyways…

  ME: Yes, to the date...

  ME: Yes, to the party…

ME: Yes, to you making me come both ways. No, actually, all the ways. No peanut gallery this time.

UNKNOWN: That’s a problem… it’s against the rules and my rules are unbreakable, babe.

ME: Sounds like a you problem, not a me problem...

ME: I wanna know this time if you’ll taste like sins or secrets…

I waited for him to respond even though none of this conversation was helping me to clean up between my legs, it was making it worse. So much worse.

Leaving my phone on the counter, I took a deep breath, inhaling the fantasy that I was going to let live until Dove was done with me.

  KHAOS

I was still wearing the smile Birdy left on the table like a tip even though I covered the bill with more than enough cash, so I took the smile home with me instead.

That same smile lasted all through eating my Lunchables on the couch with the girls while cartoons played in the background. I didn’t expect Birdy to text me back at all, let alone this soon, when my phone went off in my lap.

Birdy’s texts weren’t just naughty, they were suggestive and giving me the illest boner I’ve had in a while under the pillow on my lap. I kept swallowing the lump in my throat that had me speechless when I read exactly how outgoing she could be.

I re-read the messages over and over, only making my situation worse when I felt my dick jerk in my underwear. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Bella looking at me funny when I realized she could see my texts, “God, Bella, don’t read my messages.”

Abruptly standing up, I held the pillow at my crotch when Kens looked at me with this odd look in her eye, “Okay. Simon Says we should all go upstairs now.”

Kens didn’t move one muscle as the girls made moves to go upstairs when I realized I was missing some from the bunch. “Where are Aubrey, Uma, and Olivia?”

Kennedy was the only girl, besides Birdy now, who wouldn’t let anything slide. She served up cold plates of the truth instead of revenge. Standing up, she bumped into me while I held the pillow, “If you don’t already know then I think we have a problem. Aubrey gave her two weeks’ notice a few weeks ago, Uma got accepted into grad school, and Olivia met someone. Guess the whole world doesn’t revolve around you.”

Following the girls, I stepped in front of Kens, blocking her from going any further, “You know what? Why don’t you sit this one out. I don’t need your judgments ruining sexy time.”

I had never given it back to Kennedy- ever, this was a first. I could feel her beady eyes sinking right down to where I buried my feelings and shoveling them to the surface. She was forcing me to decide between my lifestyle and Birdy without realizing how much I was already fighting that war inside of myself.

Pissed off at me, she slumped back down on the couch with her arms crossed, “Fine. Have fun hiding how much you want someone else up there.”

My boner had deflated in the meantime when I threw the pillow down on the couch giving Kennedy a look of disappointment matching hers from earlier. Texting Birdy back after a pause too long to come back from, I needed her too much for my own good. There was a room full of girls expecting to be pleased and I was going to need another kick start because none of them were her.

ME: Tell me what you were doing before that made you text me… all that.

BIRDY: Sure you want to know?

Swallowing that same lump, I felt my dick come to life just imagining the possibilities attaching Birdy and sex.

I didn’t have a lot of options when it came to getting down lately. I had been avoiding it and pushing all my work onto Kennedy just so I could jerk myself off to Birdy, alone.

Birdy was the reason I had lost A, U, and O from my alphabet.

ME: I’m sure. I have to focus on my so-called peanut gallery when there’s a huge spotlight on you, center stage babe.

BIRDY: I utilized that gift bag from your party and imagined you.

That was all I needed to feel lost against my own walls as I read the text over and over feeling my chest get heavy and all my sanity bleed from me as Anarchy pulsed against my boxers.

All he wanted was what he couldn’t have and he was about to settle for less.

Walking into the room, I set my phone down on the table making sure it was locked when Birdy’s text rattled around my mind: I wanna know this time if you’ll taste like sins or secrets… She was using a cunning way of repeating herself because she knew it got to me the first time and none of it was a turn off.

Standing at the edge of the bed I felt Bella’s hand mold against my hard cock in my boxer briefs with a smirk looking up at me when I grabbed her wrist stopping her without realizing it. “I wanna do something different tonight.”

I could see everything in her playful mannerisms turn nervous in a flash. I didn’t
have one mean bone in my body except when it came to who I felt for and she just saw it.

Pushing down my boxer briefs, I stepped out of them finding the same chair, unmoved from where it was when Birdy was in this room.

I was terrified that she broke me in a way that I wouldn’t be able to perform for anyone else again and that was a risk I couldn’t take. Not unless I was ready to lose everyone in the house, my safety net.

Sitting in the chair, I wrapped my hand around myself imagining Birdy the same way she was imagining me except without the Molly’s help.

“Bella, get undressed and crawl over to me.” She groaned like crawling wouldn’t lead to the good stuff.

Leaving her clothes in a pile on the floor, she dropped to her hands and knees crawling over to where I was sitting. My hand was truly doing all the work even if it was lazily moving up my length. Bella wasn’t committed the same way as my leading girl but it was enough to elicit a drop of pre-come on my tip my thumb smoothed over with a groan.

Bella didn’t stop where Birdy did last time, she was in the same position when her hand wrapped around mine until I was willing to let her take over. With more determination Bella’s hand choked my dick while her mouth covered my tip.

I was trying extremely hard to imagine this is how Birdy would give head, but something told me she was going to be everything I’ve never had.

Claudia crawled her way down to the floor from the bed, making her way over to me on all fours. An internal groan puffed my chest when I was redefining edging and how far I could be pushed without coming.

It was the most commitment I had found myself neck deep in since taking my position with the Clave.

I had been scheming my whole life to avoid getting hurt by the female race and was accomplished until Birdy showed up. My heart was intact, but Anarchy was hurting in ways he never has.

Bella kissed Claudia, trying to draw my attention when my head fell back and my eyes closed. All I could see, hear, or think of was Birdy and it was making it hard to breath in the fresh air of the girls in my presence. It was hard to breath, period.
