It’s bad enough, Omar seems to think I belong to him and seems to think he’ll get me. Why do men think that way? That they can own women as if they’re possessions.

We’re not slaves. We’re people with the same rights as everyone else but for some reason men like him and those of the Supreme Masters think they can own a woman and force them into doing whatever the hell they want them to do. I, for one, don’t want that to happen.

Maybe that’s why I’m so willing to trust Isaac because I know he won’t do something like that.

“Everything set up?” Isaac asks, breaking through my thoughts with a squeeze of reassurance.

I lift my head to see his face, he glances at me briefly and gives me a quick kiss to my forehead.

“Yeah, we’re not about to let any more shit happen,” the one named Hades states as he steps forward. “This shit has to end. The clubs have already dealt with enough shit. Y’all’s and ours. We need a motherfuckin’ break.”

“I’m sorry,” I murmur, feeling myself starting to tremble at the baritone of Hades’ booming voice as he finishes speaking.

“Amaya, it’s okay. You don’t have to be afraid of these guys. They’re my brothers and would never hurt you. In fact, Burner and Hades have ol’ ladies who can relate to you more than you can imagine,” Isaac says soothingly.

I nod my head though I didn’t really want to.

“Why don’t you go into the kitchen and make some coffee for everyone?” he suggests, and I agree without hesitation.

It sucks being scared of the men in the house who Isaac trusts but I can’t help it, I am who I am because of the life I’ve lived. There’s no way I can help it. As much as I want to be in Isaac’s life maybe I’m not cut out for it.

  Chapter Twenty-Three

  Venom

“What the hell is that shit?” K-9 mutters, his gaze on the doorway to the kitchen where I’d sent Amaya to fix some coffee for all of us.

I didn’t think she’d be freaked by having them here but maybe it’s due to the small space that has her scared.

“Amaya’s history isn’t an easy one and it’s not filled with rainbows and flowers,” I sigh with a shake of my head.

“I don’t think any of the ol’ ladies have been rainbows and flowers,” Burner grumbles.

“Yeah, definitely not at our club,” Hades grunts.

“So, what’s the word?” I ask, changing the subject to the task at hand.

“We’ve got men surrounding the outside of the house, no way she’ll be missed pulling in. We bag, tag, and get her the hell to Trevor’s fucked up prison. There’re also men who stayed at the clubhouse. Evidently, that chick you all have been watching over is freaking the hell out and crying. She’s scared of anyone coming near her,” Red says finally speaking up.

  “That’s Fuse’s ol’ lady,” I say with a nod.

“You sure about that? Does he know?” K-9 mutters with a quirk of his brow.

“We’ve told Chains and asked him to give us a few months to help her heal. She’s been sedated for the most part, so her body has a chance to heal,” I say with a shrug. “I figure once this shit is done, they’ll give Chains the go ahead to let Fuse come up here and take her home.”

“Shit, I’d be fuckin’ livid if that was my ol’ lady and you kept her from me?” Hades growls. “I overheard Emerson’s conversation the other day about the whole fucked up situation. How Fuse is goin’ ape shit over Lyrica being taken. He’s blaming himself for it.”

“I get it, but you haven’t seen the state she was found in. You think he wants to see her knocked up with a kid that’s not his. No, in one of the calm moments where she’d spoken to one of the ol’ ladies, she’s wanting to give the baby away she didn’t want to kill it. I think that’s one of the things fuckin’ with her head. She’s havin’ a hard time with the fact she’s carrying another man’s child. Victoria and Tracker are going to take the baby as their own since they can’t have any more kids,” I say, informing them of some shit that not many people know. I wouldn’t have said anything at all if I didn’t trust them to keep their mouths shut about it.

“Fuck. How much longer does she have?” Red mutters.

“I’m guessing it should be anytime now, she was already showing when we found her and that was almost four months ago,” I say, cringing at the thought of what the woman had to endure. Shit, what that kid must have endured growing inside her.

Nodding, the four of them remain silent.

Amaya comes back in the room only to let us know coffee is ready and heads back in there.

Sighing, I try to get my head in the game. This shit isn’t gonna be easy and I need to focus.

Four fuckin’ hours of waiting and my phone finally rings.

I swipe my finger across the screen and pull it up to my ear. “Hello.”

“Isaac?” Emilia asks sweetly. I close my eyes and shake my head before opening them and landing my gaze on Amaya. This is the part I need her to trust me with.

“Yeah, baby, where are you?” I ask softly, my chest aching at the hurt in Amaya’s eyes.

“I’m in Virginia. I got a message from someone saying you were with Amaya and I know that can’t be true. It just can’t be. But I need you. She has our son and I need your help getting him back,” she says with a hitch in her voice.

“If you’re in Virginia then come to me, the message wasn’t wrong, I’m with Amaya. She’s here with me now. So is our boy. He’s beautiful, baby, you did good.” Fuck if I don’t have to stop myself from throwing up after speaking those words.

“What do you mean she’s with you? Are you fuckin’ her Isaac?” she demands.

“No, Emilia, baby, I wouldn’t do that to you. She’s nothing like you.” I hate myself for the words coming out of my mouth. And for the tears welling in my woman’s eyes. “Now, where are you? I can’t wait to see you and hold you,” I mutter, wishing I could take them back.

“I’m at the hotel in town. Why don’t you come here instead?” she suggests.

“Because Linc is down for a nap, baby. I don’t wanna wake him up. Besides, this is my house,” I state.

“Okay, I’ll be there soon, give me the address,” she murmurs, her voice changing to a much huskier one.

I rattle off the address and tell her I’ll see her soon and hang up. Tossing the phone on the coffee table, I reach to the other side of the sectional where Amaya sat and pull her to me. She doesn’t fight me as I situate her into straddling my lap. My brothers leave the room giving us some privacy. Thank fuck for that.

“I’m so fuckin’ sorry, Amaya,” I murmur, lifting a hand to brush the tears from her cheeks. “I didn’t mean one fuckin’ word I said to her.”

“Is that what you meant earlier when you said I needed to trust you?” she asks quietly.

“Yeah, Sweetness, that and for what’s gonna happen when she gets here. I hate to say this but if it doesn’t go as we’ve planned, I’m gonna have to act it out in order to get her into position,” I say, wanting her to be aware.

“Okay,” Amaya murmurs, shocking the shit out of me. “You do what you have to. I promise I trust you but I’ll be honest, it hurts hearing you talk to her like that.”

“I know it does and believe me when I say I want nothing more than to wash my own fuckin’ mouth out with soap,” I grumble. I’m rewarded with a slight smile at these words.

I slide my fingers into her hair and pull her mouth to mine for a kiss, one where I show her with my mouth that I’m not fuckin’ around. She’s mine and I won’t allow anyone to take what we have away. If that means playing mind games to get Emilia where I need her then so fuckin’ be it.

This shit ends and it ends now.

  Chapter Twenty-Four

  Amaya

Isaac’s mouth on mine helps ease some of the hurt but hearing the tone he used with her still makes me want to vomit.

I knew something was going to be happening. The guys have all been on alert and I didn’t kn
ow why. Now that I do, I want it over with. I don’t want to face this woman any more than I have to.

Time passes by as Isaac continues to kiss me. Only when someone clears their throat does he break his lips from mine.

“Sorry to interrupt, brother, but a car just pulled up in front of the house,” Burner mutters.

Nodding, Isaac pats my leg. “Showtime, Sweetness. Just remember, I don’t mean the shit that I say to her. It’s just a ploy to get her where we need her.”

“Okay, Isaac,” I mutter and pull my bottom lip in between my teeth.

“Fuck, don’t do that, I can’t be getting a fuckin’ hard-on with her coming in the house. She’ll think it’s for her, when it’s you causing it,” Isaac grumbles.

“I’m sorry,” I say with a giggle. How he can have me giggling right now is baffling.

Isaac groans and steps back from me readjusting himself in his jeans.

A knock comes on the door and he points to the chair in the corner. I nod and walk over to the seat and sit down like he’s wanting me to. K-9 comes up and quickly zip ties my arms behind my back.

Panic starts to set in and my chest tightens.

“Easy, Amaya. It’s okay. Just gotta make it look real,” K-9 murmurs calmly.

At his words I take a deep breath and nod my head.

“You’re gonna have to act terrified to make this work,” he says, and again I nod. There’s no acting here. I am terrified.

Isaac gives me one last look before heading to open the front door.

“Isaac,” Emilia squeals and I cringe at the sound. I can only imagine her throwing herself at Isaac demanding he kiss her.

Oh God. I don’t think I could bear the thought of her kissing him. Not after him and I . . .

Please for once in my life let something go right.

“Where is she? Where is that bitch? I’m gonna kill her,” Emilia snaps.

“Easy, baby, she’s in the living room,” Isaac states calmly.

I hear Emilia huff and then I see her staring daggers at me as she steps into the room. “You thought you could take my son from me and my man,” she sneers and starts for me but Isaac stops her.

“Don’t need blood on my carpet, Emilia,” he grumbles, wrapping his arms around her.

Emilia whirls around on him, plants her hands on his chest, and then brings them up to curl around Isaac’s neck. “You might not need it but I do. She’s a thorn in my side always trying to take what’s mine. Tell her Isaac, tell her you’re mine.”

Isaac leans his head further into her until his nose is against hers and their mouths are a breath apart. I close my eyes not wanting to see him kiss her.

“But I’m not yours, Emilia, was never yours. I’ve always been Amaya’s,” Isaac announces, shocking me with his harsh tone. I open my eyes to see him push her away from him and straight into the arms of K-9 and Red who secure her arms behind her back. Hades comes forward with a needle in hand. He lifts it up and pushes it into the skin of her neck.

“Say goodnight,” Hades mutters as he steps back. “Fuck, how come this shit seems too fuckin’ easy.”

“That’s because it is, you motherfuckers.” My eyes widen at the sound of Omar’s voice. With everyone standing in the way I can’t see him but I know that cynical voice from anywhere. “Told you, asshole, that I’m gonna get what’s mine,” Omar sneers, and then the sound of a gun going off causes me to scream.

Everything else seems to happen all at once. The guys drop Emilia’s body to the ground and Isaac jumps for Omar. The two of them end up on the floor and the gun is knocked out of Omar’s hands.

“Motherfucker,” Isaac snarls, slamming his fist into Omar’s face.

I wiggle against the restraints wanting to get out of them. Tears well in my eyes as I notice the blood out of the corner of my eye. The blood belonged to Emilia.

“Brother, that’s enough for now,” Burner says, pulling Isaac off of Omar. “Go to your woman. You can finish this shit later when she’s not having to witness this shit.”

Isaac nods and turns toward me. He pulls out a pocket knife I’d seen him put in his pocket earlier. He uses the blade and cuts through the ties holding me. Soon as my wrists are free, he closes the knife and tosses it to the side and lifts me up into his arms.

“Close your eyes, Sweetness,” he murmurs into my ear. Isaac turns us and starts walking past everyone. I do as he says so I don’t have to see everything fully.

  “It’s over?” I ask.

“Yeah, Amaya, it’s over,” Isaac mutters and presses his lips to the side of my head.

“Thank you,” I whisper and lean my head against his chest as he carries me out of the house.

“Told you, Amaya, you’re mine and I’m not about to let you go. You and Linc are the best things to happen to me. He might not be yours by blood but you’re a damn fine woman for him to have in his life and as far as I’m concerned you’re the only momma he needs,” Isaac states as he places me on my feet.

“But what about Emilia?” I can’t help but ask.

“Sucks ass she’s not gonna suffer in that hole but I can’t say I’m sorry she’s dead. She got what she deserves and it’s not my problem. And it’s not yours either. She fucked with the wrong people. Including Omar. You play with fire you get burned. She did it and she ended up paying with her life for it.” He shrugs.

I take a moment to let his words sink in. I’ve known Emilia my whole life, yet at the same time, I didn’t know a thing about her. How she could be such a horrible person to not only want to harm her own child but to kill people for the rejection she felt at Isaac not being with her. I don’t think I’ll ever understand the way her mind worked but it’s over now and I can move forward at least somewhat. I still have a bounty out for me from the Supreme Masters and I know they won’t back down.

“Come on, Sweetness, let’s go get our boy,” he announces and guides me to his truck pulling me from my thoughts.

  Our boy.

I like the sound of that.

  Venom

  Two weeks later

“Stop scratching at it,” I order Amaya as she messes with the tattoo healing on her arm.

“I’m not scratching, I’m rubbing around it. This itches,” she complains, throwing her attitude in there as well.

After everything went down at the house, I thought she’d end up trying to run but I didn’t have anything to worry about. Amaya is mine and has stayed by my side the entire time. The only time she hasn’t been in my sight is when I’d gone into the pocket with the rest of my brothers and ended Omar’s life.

That night we’d had church and filled everyone in on what was going on with the Supreme Masters. We still didn’t know much but we were working on it.

Before Burner left, he’d done some tattoos for those who wanted them, including the one now branding Amaya’s upper arm. A snake sticking out of a skull with its mouth open showing its fangs is perfect for her. In my eyes, it shows that she’s fierce and will attack if need be. However, she’s protected by me and that snake on her arm is my symbol and says loud and clear to back the fuck off my ol’ lady.

“It’s gonna itch, it’s healing. Now come on, we gotta get outside, members of the Inferno’s Clutch MC should be here any minute and I need to get out there,” I tell her.

Which I did. Lyrica had the baby the other day. A boy who Tracker and Victoria named Jason. I thought Lyrica would have changed her mind, but she’d signed papers right after pushing him out and refused to look at him. She’s still having to be sedated due to everything. I don’t know what all those men did to her but she’s struggling with it.

Yesterday, Stoney spoke with Chains and they were headed up here. I only hope this doesn’t cause complications since I’ve noticed that one of the men who came with Hammer keeps a close eye on her whenever she’s around. He’d even stood in the room with her when she’d delivered Jason.

“Okay, I’m ready,” she mutters and put
s her brush down. All of her stuff and Lincoln’s is here in my room for the time being. Whip and I are having to do some remodeling to the house. And since we like it so much and it’s got plenty of room in it, we decided to buy it, figuring we’d remodel and make it spacious enough that we could share it. Even if Whip finally got an ol’ lady.

He claims it won’t happen but I’m betting it will sooner rather than later.

Taking Amaya’s hand in mine, I pull her from the room, and we walk hand in hand together into the main room. We just enter the room when the door to the outside flies open. Fuse storms in fury in his eyes.

  “Where is she?” he demands.

“Brother, remember, you gotta keep your cool,” Chains growls, coming up behind him.

“I’ll cool it when I see my ol’ lady, now where is she?” Fuck, he’s gonna blow when he sees her.

“Let me go get her, she’s calmer today than she’s been,” Tinsley mutters and takes off down the hall toward Lyrica’s room.

“Fuse, gotta ask you to keep it together. She’s been through a lot and is gonna need you,” Tracker says, holding the baby in his arms. Jason was born here, and Harlow has been helping keep an eye on him since she used to work in the NICU of the hospital. She knows what to look out for with the little guy.

Fuse nods and takes a deep breath. A few minutes later, Tinsley comes back out with Lyrica. We all step back for Fuse to see and his nostrils flare and his lip curls. “That’s not Lyrica,” he declares instantly.

“What the hell do you mean she’s not Lyrica?” Tracker demands.

“Looks a hell of a lot like her but that’s not my ol’ lady,” Fuse states and closes his eyes and shakes his head. “Fuck,” he mutters under his breath.
