“You’re so full of yourself, Lancey.”

“Don’t call me that,” I grumbled.

I rested my hands on Camila’s hips and kissed her. I couldn’t get enough of her. The way she felt against me. How her lips felt. More importantly, the way she reacted to my touch.

“Come on, let’s get out of here.”

Camila wrapped her arms around my neck and whispered. “Why are you taking me to Sweet Escapes?”

“Because you’re my girl and deserve nothing but the best,” I replied, pecking her lips again.

And because I don’t want Austin around you.

  Or any other man.

I pulled Camila closer and nuzzled my face into her neck, inhaling her scent.

“Did you just sniff me?” she questioned.

  “So, what if I did?”

“You’re being weird tonight. Did you get hit in the head by Murdoch?”

  “Nope,” I answered.

  “Well?”

  “Well, what?”

“Are you gonna fuck me, or…”

“I’ll fuck you once we get to our destination.”

I led Camila outside and helped her into the limo. I slid in next to her and intertwined our fingers. If I get just one weekend to have her completely, then so be it. I know once I tell her the truth she’ll be pissed. I lied to her. Betrayed her. I completely wrecked her.

It takes us about two hours to get to our destination. I got out of the limo and held my hand out to her. “Come, Camila. I want to get you to our room.”

We stepped into the hotel and everyone bowed their heads to me. A woman behind the desk widened her eyes when she saw me. Not only was I the co-owner of a bar, but I was also the owner of this establishment. Just another lie I’ve withheld from everyone. Everyone but Vincent. He’s the only one who knows just how rich I am.

“Good evening, Mr. Spelling. Are you staying in the penthouse tonight?”

“I’ll be staying there all weekend. Make sure you send champagne and dinner at eight.”

  The woman nodded.

“Of course, Mr. Spelling. Anything else?”

“Under no circumstances am I to be disturbed.”

  “Lance?” Camila whispered.

“Come on, let’s get to our room.”

The woman slides two cards across the counter and smiled. It was forced but still a smile. I led Camila to our room and slid the card in the slot. It beeped and I opened it, pulling Camila inside with me. Camila gasped when she saw the room.

“Lance, there’s no way you can afford this. How the hell did you manage to pay for this?”

I set the cards down on the table and took her hands in mine. “Because sweetheart, I own it. I haven’t been completely honest with you.”

  “How…”

“Not only am I the owner of this establishment, but Vince and I own the bar I took you to. I’m a filthy rich boy.”

  “Lance…”

I pressed my finger against her lips and whispered. “Shh, we have all weekend. Let me make sweet love to you.”

I cupped her face and crushed my lips against hers. I walked her to the bed and gently pushed her onto the bed. She wrapped her legs around my waist and moaned softly. I pulled away to slip my shirt off.

Camila placed her hands flat on my chest and whispered. “Are you gonna fuck me now?”

“You bet your fucking ass I am. The question is, can you handle me?”

  “Of course, I can. I’m a Martinez. There’s nothing I can’t handle.”

  “Good.”

“Whatever happens this weekend, just promise me one thing.”

  “What?”

  “Don’t leave me.”

  “Why not?”

“Because I need you in my life.”

It was right on the tip of my tongue. That I didn’t want this to end… because I was falling for Camila again. Hard and fast. If this is the only way to have her, then I’ll take it.

“What if I do leave you?”

“Then, there’s no reason for living anymore. I need you, Camila. You were my best friend and lover before. I want that back. I. Need. You.”

I remember Austin’s last words to me.

If I find out you betrayed me again, I’ll end you. I’ll take your precious Camila and tell her everything. Then after, I’ll slit her pretty little neck and deliver her head to your doorstep.

  I couldn’t lose her.

  I just couldn’t.

  Not to him.

  Not to anyone.

Because I was in love with her.

Camila’s next words warmed my heart.

  “I won’t leave you, Lance.”

Camila said she wouldn’t leave me, but I knew it was too good to be true. Once she learned the truth, she would leave. There’s no way a woman like her would. Which is why I needed to make sure she lived like a queen for the next two days.

“Well?” I hear the aggravation in her voice.

  “Well what, Senorita?” I teased.

  “What are you waiting for?”

I crushed my lips against her and groaned, “Shh, no talking. Let’s let our bodies do the talking.”

All I wanted was to stay in here for the rest of our lives. Make love to her. Hide her away from Austin and anyone else that wanted to take her away from me.

Camila pulled away from the kiss and whispered. “You promised me you would tell me the truth.”

“And I will but first, I want to make up for my mistakes. I want to make love to you. Take you out on a date. Treat you like I should’ve done. Right now, no talking… just feel me, Cami.”

  “You haven’t called me that…”

  “Since homecoming.”

I remembered that day. She was beautiful in her dress. I frowned. It was also the next week I broke her heart. I had to… to keep her safe. Her brother safe. And me? It ripped me in half to act like she meant nothing.

“Lance, what are you waiting for?”

  “Just thinking.”

  “About?”

  “Don’t worry about it, Cami.”

“I like when you call me that.”

  “Me too, babe.”

There were only two people that could get away with calling her Senorita and Cami. Her brother was one. I was the other. The last man that called her that got a baseball bat to his kneecap. I just hope after she knows everything… I’m not like that poor guy.

“Can you at least tell me one thing?” she asked.

  “Yes,” I whispered.

“Did you ever really love me?”

“I loved you then and now that I’m over Aubree… I love you now.”

“Then, make love to me and prove it.”

“How about this? One more round of angry sex, then the rest of the weekend I make love to you.”

“You have a thing for rough sex or something?” I could hear the teasing in her voice.

“You have no idea,” I whispered, crushing my lips against her mouth.

“Oh yeah, does it make you hard when I do this?” She smirked, taking a handful of my hair and gave it a sharp tug.

“Fuck me, babe. It makes me hard as hell.”

She deepened the kiss and took my bottom lip between her teeth and bit down. I growled in response and closed my eyes. It did. God, did it ever turn me on. Camila took control and before I knew it, I’m on my back. I could take control back from her, but I didn’t want to. I loved it when she got rough.

“I bet you want me to rip your clothes off and fuck you like an animal.”

“Oh yeah, babe.” I groaned as she raised up and bounced down on my cock through my pants.

“And I bet you want me to scratch my nails down your chest.”

Camila raised my shirt and dug her nails into my skin, dragging them downward. I can’t deny it. I was ready to get owned by her. Like I said, I would take her anyway I could. As long as she let me.

To my disappointment, she pulled away and got up. She walked towards the bathroom a
nd turned to wink at me. “Come on, big boy, let’s try that hot tub out.”

She didn’t have to tell me twice. I stripped out of my clothes, leaving me in my boxer briefs and made my way to the bathroom. When I entered the bathroom, she was already naked. She bent over and turned the heat up. I pressed up against her and whispered in her ear. “We won’t be needing any heat, babe. Our bodies will make up for that.”

I pulled down my briefs and stepped out of them as she slipped into the tub. She tilted her head back to wet her hair. I grinned mischievously as I stepped into the tub and loomed over her.

She wrapped her arms around my neck and whispered. “I changed my mind.”

  “About?”

“I don’t want angry sex right now.”

  “What do you want, Senorita?”

“I want you to make love to me.”

  “You got it, babe.”

Just like the ripples in the water, we clashed together. I slipped inside Camila and pushed her up against the other end of the tub. Camila moaned softly and wrapped her legs around my waist. It was like homecoming night all over again. She was making me feel like a teenager in love. And I loved it. She gave into me more with each thrust. Every time I entered her again, she sucked in a breath and tightened her thighs around me. I was pouring out my frustrations into her and she took them. This was long overdue. She needed this. I needed this.

“Yes!” she hissed, “There he is… the man that takes what he wants.”

“Babe, fuck.” I growled through clenched teeth. “I love you so damn much.”

“I love you too, Lance.” She moaned.

I just hope and pray that she still feels the same after I tell her everything. That she still loves me. I shook my thoughts away and thrust into her even harder. She dug her nails into my back and moaned my name, dragging them down. I closed my eyes and felt my body tense. It was coming closer. I felt like I was on fire. She clung to me and rocked against me. She was closing in on me.

  “F-fuck, Lance. I’m going to…”

And just like that, I pressed the button on the detonator and the bomb exploded. So many emotions in one movement.

  Anger.

  Passion.

  Lust.

  But most of all… sadness.

  Why?

Because I knew this wouldn’t last.

It was going to vanish and then we’ll go back to hating each other.

“Remember this, I’ll always love you no matter what, Cami.” I whispered and kissed her.

  Camila had been right.

We’re toxic… poison when we were together.

And I just took every drop just so I could have her.

I did that when I said the words.

  I love you.

  Chapter 16

  Camila

Lance was trying to mask his emotions. I could feel it in my bones as he held me in his arms. I knew him. Like really knew him. The real him. He was holding back on me. Not in sex. That was perfect. It always was. He’d been hiding the truths from me.

First off, he was filthy rich.

Owned a bar and apparently, this resort.

  “Lance?” I whispered.

  “Yeah, babe?”

“Why did you bring me here? The real reason.”

  “Because I wanted to.”

I leaned into his neck and blew in his ear. He shivered when I began to nibble on his ear.

“Babe, you need to stop or I’ll take you again.”

“Tell me why you brought me here.”

“Because I want you all to myself, Senorita.”

I smiled in satisfaction and released his ear with a pop. “There. Was that so hard?”

Lance ground his hips and nipped at my neck. “Know what else is hard, babe?”

  “God,” I groaned. You’re insatiable.”

  “You love it though.”

  I did.

“Get dried off and meet me in the other room. I have a surprise for you.”

  “What are you up to?”

“Surprise, remember? Get dried off and don’t keep me waiting, babe.”

Lance pecked my lips and stepped out of the tub. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from his ass as he grabbed a towel. He turned and winked when he caught me staring. I felt my cheeks heat up when he wrapped his towel around his waist.

“See something you like, babe?” Lance teased.

  “Maybe.”

“Don’t keep me waiting too long.”

Lance stepped out, leaving me speechless. I pressed a finger to my lips and smiled to myself. It was almost too good to be true. I stepped out and dried off with a fresh towel, wrapping it firmly around my body.

I opened the door to see Lance already dressed. A pair of blue jeans and a matching button-up shirt.

  Be still, my heart.

He’s wearing a backwards ball cap. Just like he did in high school.

I glanced at the bed and took a deep breath when I see he’s laid out a dress for me. White and silky. It’s a gown that probably comes down to my ankles. And fuck me, he knows I love spaghetti straps. To the side, a dozen roses.

  “Lance…”

“Get dressed, I want to take you down to the beach.”

I dropped the towel and picked up the dress. I slipped it on and pulled the straps on my shoulders. Lance stood behind me and buttoned the back of it. My breath hitched when he brushed his fingers against my skin. When he buttoned the last one, he pulled away, but only to slide a necklace over my head. Not just any one. It was the one I wore at homecoming. The one that had his class ring on it. He leaned down and whispered. “Now it’s complete. Shall we, babe?”

This was the man I fell for. Sweet. Caring. Passionate. The one who made me smile. The quarterback who surprised me with a dozen roses at homecoming.

  Who the hell was this?

  Definitely not my nemesis.

  Not the man I loathed.

This was Lance Spelling... a man that just swept me off my feet.

  “What about shoes?”

  “We don’t need them, babe.”

Lance linked our arms and leads me outside to the beach. The summer breeze blew my dress as he drew me close. He cupped my cheeks and crushed his lips against mine. Made me breathless again. He pulled back and lowered his hand to my neck, capturing my lips again. It was slow but passionate. His hands roamed my body, sliding his arms around my waist. When he tore his mouth away, he murmured. “You’re beautiful, Camila.”

Lance was a complicated man. One day, he’s cold as ice. The next, he sets my body on fire. Tonight, he’s something different. Sweet and heartfelt.

  Tonight, there weren’t any distractions.

  It was just me.

  Him.

Us getting lost in the moment.

Lance pulled away from my waist to intertwine our fingers.

“Who are you right now? Because I have no clue.”

“I’m the man that’s gonna treat you like a queen.”

Lance twirled me around and pulled me back to his chest. Just above a whisper, I urge him. “Then do it, Lance. Ruin me.”

“Not yet, just let me hold you like this.”

Lance buried his face in my neck and held me tighter. Now, I knew something was going on with him. He was breaking on the inside.

“I’m sorry,” he apologized, “I’m so sorry for everything.”

I cupped his cheeks and shook my head. “It’s okay… we’re okay.”

“No, it’s not okay,” he chuckled darkly, “Everything is a mess, babe. I’m a mess.”

  “Lance…”

“You only came with me to hear the truth, right? Well, here it is. Austin wanted revenge for what happened between him and Oliver in freshman year.”

  “What are you…”

“Babe, I couldn’t stop it from happening. God knows, I tried like hell to put an end to the list. I never wanted to hurt you.”

  “What are you talking about?”

  “Freshman year
, Austin and Oliver had a thing. Then, they didn’t. Oliver dumped him when he became friends with Trevor. That made him angry. He was delusional… crazy mad. That’s why you were the target. He wasn’t going to stop until Oliver hurt like he did. I’m so fucking sorry! I tried so hard to stop him, but he blackmailed me. He said if I didn’t come through with the deal that he was going to expose him. But…”
