  “That’s why Austin is back?”

“No,” he choked, “I thought that I could take care of Austin. Me and Vincent, but it didn’t go as planned. When he found out I betrayed him, he told me I would pay. I.. I had to humiliate you in front of the team… to make Oliver pay. He said that if I ever pursued you afterward, he was going to expose Oliver to the team. He threatened you… to hurt you bad. I couldn’t let that happen.”

“Lance, take a breath. Can you do that?”

Lance nodded weakly as I stroked his cheeks with my thumbs. “In and out, Lance. Deep breaths.”

  “I-I’m sorry, Cami. I… I couldn’t do anything.”

It was all making sense now. Lance sacrificed everything we had to protect me and my brother.

“Calm down, it’s going to be okay.”

Lance nodded as he struggled to catch his breath. He closed his eyes and pressed his forehead against mine. I just had to know why Austin was back.

“Tell me, Lance. Why is he back?”

“To finish it. He knows we’re back together. Babe, he wants to take you away from me… from Oliver. He wants to kill you and make your brother fall. Austin wants to ruin him… ruin me.”

  Chapter 17

  Lance

“I won’t lose you again, Cami. I can’t lose you. Not to Austin. Not to anyone. I need you in my life.” I promised her.

I still haven’t told her everything. I only told her what she needed to know.

Camila raised her head, our gazes meeting. So much more needed to be said. But I let our eyes do the talking. A tear slid down her cheek and landed on my shirt.

“Don’t cry, babe. Please, I can handle anything else but that.” I whispered.

It pained me to see her like this. After all we’d been through, this is what hurt the most. I could handle an angry Camila, but this, I couldn’t bear it. Watching my high school sweetheart break down was like a punch to the gut.

  “M-my brother…”

“Oliver will be fine. It’s you Austin wants. He wants to hurt Oliver for breaking his heart. And me, he wants to get me where it hurts the most.”

  “Why me?” she asked.

“Because you’re my weakness, babe. And that’s why I have to do everything in my power to protect you. Spelling men protect what’s theirs. It’s up to me to finish this shit.”

It felt good to say that.

Was this how my brother felt with Aubree?

  Caine with Lila?

Without warning, Camila jumped and wrapped her legs around my waist. She held onto my neck as I held her by the ass to steady her. The months of bickering. Years of regret and hating each other didn’t matter anymore. It was me and her against the world.

I threw her a smirk, “So, no angry sex?”

“I didn’t say that. In fact, how about you take me back to the room and fuck me hard. Fuck me like a Spelling would.”

  “Like Murdoch does with Aubree?”

She wrinkled her nose and shuddered. “God no, I’m definitely not calling you Daddy.”

“Didn’t expect you to, babe. However, I did manage to snatch a pair of Murdoch’s handcuffs.”

“Oh really,” she teased, “Are you telling me you want me to cuff you to the bed and ride your dick?”

  Fuck!

Why is it so exciting to hear her say that?

“I’ll do anything you want as long as I can be inside you.”

“And you called me the kinky one.” She teased.

  “Never said I wasn’t, babe.”

“So, you would be at my mercy?” Camila slid one hand up the back of my neck and knocked my hat off the top of my head. She grabbed a fistful of my hair. She tugged, making me groan softly.

“Fuck babe, I’m already at your mercy. You know that.”

“Hmm, Lance Spelling at my mercy. Who would’ve thought you would be one kinky motherfucker?”

“Let’s go,” I growled, walking back to the entrance of the hotel. I carried her back to the room and struggled to get the keycard.

“Here, let me help.” Camila whispered and reached into my back pocket. She threw me a smirk as she slipped it in my hand. I took it and slid it in the slot, opening the door. I threw the card on the table and unwrapped her legs from around my waist. Fire burned in her dark eyes as she drew me closer and crushed her lips against mine.

She turned and put one behind her to drape it over the back of my neck. I held her by the hips and ground against her ass. “Fuck, Cami.”

“Tell me Lance, how bad do you want me?” she purred.

“So bad, babe.” I rasped. “I’m so hard it hurts.”

Camila twisted her body and slid her hands down my chest and back up to the top button. “How much do you like this shirt?”

“I can buy another one.” I ground out.

The buttons of my shirt flew when she ripped it open. She yanked it off and popped the button of my pants. This was hot… she was on fire. Camila yanked my pants down and took them off. She shoved me back on the bed and pounced on me. Blood rushed to my cock when she unbuttoned her dress and let it fall to the floor.

  “Where’s the cuffs?”

I nodded to the table and replied, “Drawer.”

She took my wrists and placed them between the bars of the headboard. “Stay just like this.”

The way she took control had my heart hammering in my chest. She reached over and opened the drawer, retrieving the cuffs. Camila placed one over my wrist and clicked it in place. Then, she did the same to the other one. She leaned back and walked two fingers up my chest.

“Camila, please don’t tease me.” I groaned.

“You, Mr. Spelling are under my control. If I want to tease, I’ll tease you.”

I raised my head as she leaned forward to kiss her. Just as I was about to kiss her, she pulled back out of my reach. The cuffs rattled when I attempted to reach her lips. She chuckled softly as she gripped the base of my cock and squeezed hard.

“Fuck me, Cami. Slide my cock inside and fuck me hard.”

“Nuh-uh, I like to play with my food before I eat it.”

Camila released my cock and slid down to kneel between my thighs. She cupped my balls and licked her lips. My toes curled when she gave them a gentle squeeze. I didn’t want gentle. I craved the adrenaline rush of hardcore Camila. Her free hand laid flat on my chest and dug her nails into my chest. She drug them down my chest, making my breaths ragged.

“Fuck, Cami,” I moaned. “Now, that’s what I’m talking about.”

  “What do you want, Lance?”

“Goddamn, babe, put me out of my misery and give it to me hard.” I groaned.

  She was teasing me.

I loved when she did that.

Camila straddled my waist and gripped me hard, before slamming down on me. All I wanted to do was touch her. Now, I’m rethinking allowing her to cuff my wrists. Each time she rolled her hips brought me closer to the edge. I thrusted upward, meeting her halfway. Each time a memory of us as teenagers flashed through my head. I closed my eyes and clenched my fists.

“Hmm, are you ready to cum, Lance?”

“Fuck. Yes.” I hissed through clenched teeth. “I’m so ready to fill your pussy with my cum.”

We may not be toxic anymore, but we’re still explosive.

  Tick… tick… boom.

  And here it comes.

  Boom!

  Fireworks.

Camila collapsed on my chest and we ignited.

“God, I love you, Cami. I love you so much.”

  Chapter 18

  Camila

Lance takes the chance to flip us over the second the cuffs come off. I gasped when he braced himself against the frame and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around him and deepened the kiss. When we pulled away, we were both breathless.

“I love you,” I breathed out. “I never stopped loving you. Not even for a second.”

“Then, why did you crush on Trevor so hard?”

Distraction from who I really wanted.”

“What was that, Senorita? Did little miss head cheerleader miss her hot as fuck quarterback?”

“Don’t get cocky with me.” I muttered.

“Oh babe, didn’t you hear? Cocky is my middle name.”

  “No it’s not. It’s Waylon.”

Lance pecked my lips, “Hungry, babe?”

  “Starving.”

Vincent’s words run through my head. The time he told me to ask Lance about The Royales.

“Lance, can I ask you a question?”

“You can ask me anything you want.”

  “What is The Royales?”

He frowned and he closed his eyes. Lance took a deep breath and breathed out. “The Royales was a mistake. Just a stupid fucking mistake that cost me.”

  “And what was the price?”

Me… you,” he hissed, “It cost me my life and losing you, but I won’t make that mistake again. I. Won’t. Lose. You. Not again.”

  “Austin?”

“He’s the ringleader and that’s why the motherfucker is going down. Enough talking about that. Let’s get dressed and call for some food. What do you want to eat, babe?”

“Would it be a total cliché if I said pizza and beer? You know, like we used to do.”

“Tonight is all about cliché, babe. Whatever you want, it’s yours. I’m yours.”

“I missed this… I missed us. The quarterback I fell for.”

  “Now, that’s a cliché.”

  “Is it a bad thing?”

Lance shook his head and pulled on a pair of shorts from his bag. Then, he grabbed a pair of shorts for me and his old jersey. He tossed them to me and I caught them. I held it to my chest and murmured. “You, Lance Spelling, are full of surprises tonight.”

Lance tapped on his phone and glanced at me. “Get dressed. Pizza and beer will be here soon.”

“No champagne for the filthy rich boy?”

He winked, “That’s for tomorrow night.”

I slipped the shorts on and put on the jersey, letting out a satisfied sigh. Right now, it was perfect. Me. Him. We’re just the quarterback and cheerleader lost in each other’s eyes.

Lance took a step forward and tugged on the hem of the jersey. “You still look sexy in this.”

He circled one muscled arm around my waist and took my hand, intertwining our fingers. His breath hit my neck as he whispered. “Dance with me.”

  “There isn’t any music playing.”

“Don’t need any, babe. Just get lost with me.”

  “Such a romantic,” I teased.

“Shh, it’s a secret. Don’t want my brothers know I’m a big softie, do we?”

“You’re definitely not soft. At least, not under those shorts.”

Lance grinned and leaned in to kiss my lips. He sighed when someone knocked. “Pizza is here.”

Lance pulled away and looked through the peephole. He glanced back and gave me a grim expression. “It’s not the pizza.”

  “Then, who…”

“Go to the bathroom until I come get you.”

“I know you’re there, man. Gonna let me in?” A deep voice said.

  What is Vincent doing here?

I didn’t argue any further. Without hesitation, I went into the bathroom. I pressed my ear to the door and listened. Vincent didn’t sound happy. And Lance? He was angry.

“Austin came looking for you.” Vincent informed him.

“What the hell did he want?” I could hear the venom in Lance’s voice.

“If you don’t go back with him, he’s gonna start raising hell. Starting with that pretty girl you claim to be 'not friends' with.”

“I’m done playing games with him. Tell him to meet me at Gilmore Point. Monday at dusk. And tell him to come alone.”

  “Lance…” Vincent trailed off.

  “Tell. Him.” Lance growled.

“Don’t do this, man.” Vincent begged, “You have no idea what my brother is capable of.”

“I’ve made up my mind. Austin is done in Sage, Oklahoma. It’s time I end the game.”

I pulled the door open said. “Lance, you should listen to him.”

“So, that’s what you’ve been up to.” Vincent glanced over Lance’s shoulder.

“Drop it,” Lance hissed, “Stop gawking at my woman.”

  “Hello, Vincent. We meet again.”

Lance turned and wrapped his arm around me possessively, kissing me hard.

“Stop it, Lance. Your Murdoch is showing.” I whispered.

“As long as he knows who you belong to.” He muttered.

“Look I’m sorry I interrupted whatever this is, but I thought you should know.”

  Lance glared.

“A simple text would’ve been fine.”

“Austin could’ve had my phone bugged since he’s been staying at my parents' house. Plus, you know his connections.”

“Fine. You just tell Austin what I said.”

Vincent nodded and stepped out, leaving me with a very pissed Lance.

“You need to stop for a moment and calm down.” I scolded.

“Can’t help myself, babe. You bring out the territorial part of me. I can’t stand it when someone looks at you… especially when you’re wearing this.”

“Go lie down on your belly and I’ll help you relax.”

  “The beer and pizza should…”

  Knock.

  Knock.

  “There it is, babe.”

I could tell Vincent’s arrival had Lance on edge. Anything to do with Austin makes Lance feel threatened. He goes in full attack mode.

I sat on the bed and waited as Lance got the pizza and beer. He carried a pizza box and six pack of beer and placed it onto the table in the middle of the room. Lance plucked two beers from the pack and crawled into bed, slipping one in my hand. We twisted the caps off, both taking a drink.

Lance tipped his beer and said, “To us.”

“To us,” I replied, tipping mine and taking another drink.

Don’t make me regret this, Lance.

Don’t break me all over again.

  Chapter 19

  Lance

The weekend sadly came to an end. I dropped Camila off at her place. I didn’t leave until I knew Oliver came home from his shift. I pulled him aside and told him the bad news. I told him everything. He swore he’d keep her safe while I took care of Austin.

I stepped into the house I shared with my brothers and sighed when Caine cornered me.

“Where’ve you been?” Caine narrowed his eyes.

“None of your fucking business! I. Was. Out.” I growled.

Caine scoffed and shoved me against the wall. The impact of the wall hurt, but I wasn’t going to let him know that. I curved my lips, giving him my trademark smirk.

“What the hell have you been up to?”

“Fucking your girl. Mmm, I was balls deep in her.” I replied.

  Old Lance was officially back.

Caine reared back to punch me, but Murdoch yanked him back by the back of his shirt. “Lay off him and take a walk.”

“Really?!” Caine scoffed, “Fine, I’m out. Don’t come crying to me when that little Latina bitch…”

I curled my fist and punched his jaw. “Don’t call her that!”

Caine rubbed his jaw and stormed out.

“Don’t worry, he’s just pissed about Lila.” Murdoch informed me.

  I raised my brow.

“She went on a date and now he’s pissed. So, how did it go?”

  “Surprisingly good.”

  “So, this war is over?”

“Between me and her? Yes. There’s another war brewing. Austin is back.”

Murdoch let out a harsh breath, “Shit, does Oliver know?”

“He knows everything. I told him the whole story. Tomorrow, I’m taking care of it.”
