Cabin Fever

by Shani Greene-Dowdell et al.

Jayne still looked confused about the mixup, but we were both given keys to the same cabin, and Bruiser and Alise weren’t answering their phones. This was a setup.

“I’ll go wait in my car until Alise calls me back,” Jayne said as she was about to retreat. “Good seeing you again, Xander.”

I stepped closer to her, and she backed away. I caught her before she tripped over her luggage and pulled her close to me. “I’ve been trying to call you, Jayne. I need to talk to you.”

“Xander, what good would another conversation do us? Your actions speak loud enough. I get the point. You’re not interested in me like that. You don’t have to feel obligated to talk to me. It’s cool.” Her eyes trailed away from mine, and I hauled them back with a tug of her chin.

“I want you, Jayne. I dream about you at night. I think about you all day. I want you more than you will ever know,” I said, looking deep into her eyes and caressing her face. “These two weeks without you have been hell. I don’t want to know what I would do without you. Don’t make me have to find out.”

“Xander, those are just words! Words!” Jayne yelled, shedding an angry tear. “Stop saying things like that to me. Then, when I try to hug you or kiss you, you pull away and leave me like I repulse you. You don’t have to say anything about us. Just let it be what it is and move on with your life.”

Tilting my head downward, I kissed Jayne full force, pulling her into an embrace and holding her the way I’d wanted to hold her since the first night I met her.

“I won’t let you go again,” I whispered against her lips. “I won’t ever again let you feel unloved.”

  “Xander, you don’t have to—”

With my arm secure around her waist, I guided her into my room and over to the bed. We fell onto the bed, and her beautiful dark curls spread wildly across the bed, making her appear as an angel. I made sure my weight didn’t crush her as I lay on top of her, kissing her gently. “Yes, I have to, Jayne. I have to do this. All of this.”

Savoring her flavor, I filed it in my memories as irreplaceable. The way she sensually writhed underneath me caused my body to respond. An explosion was coming if she continued to move beneath me, so I lifted off of her and began to undress her.

Lifting her shirt over her head, I stared at her beautiful braless breasts and flat stomach. “You’re just as beautiful as I thought you would be, Jayne.”

“Xander. I want you.” She wrapped her arms around my neck and hauled me back on top of her. “Make love to me,” she whimpered beneath me as her slow, rhythmic movements elicited my own.

Jayne’s phone rang as I claimed her mouth again.

  “Don’t answer it.”

“It’s Alise,” she said, looking at the phone still in her hand. She quickly donned her shirt and answered. “Hello, Alise, hi. Um, I came to the cabin number on the key they gave me at the Inn, but Xander is here. Which one are you in?” she asked as her breathing steadied.

“Oh, you’re in the right place, Jayne. And, it sounds like you’re doing what I thought you would be doing. With Xander is where you belong.”

“Huh? Wait; what? Alise, I know you didn’t.” Jayne frowned.

“You’re at the right cabin. A Gospel Fest is going on, but Bruiser and I have nothing to do with it. We simply wanted you two to stop your bickering and getaway together. I know you want to curse me out right now, and you’re probably shocked and upset, but deal with it. I’m not answering the phone anymore for you this week. Enjoy your time with Xander. Oh, and he had nothing to do with it. This is my and Bruiser’s gift to you both. Bye!”

“Alise! Alise!” Jayne tried to catch her, but she hung up.

I laughed. “They got us with this one. I thought I was about to do some security work.”

“Yeah, and I was supposed to be Alise’s assistant/stylist for the week. Oh, wait until I see her!”

“It’s not so bad being here with me, is it?”

“Xander, that’s not the point,” she said and laughed.

“It is the point. The reason they tricked us into spending time together is that we couldn’t do this on our own. Or should I say, I wouldn’t do it? You would have done it in a heartbeat.”

Jayne tilted her head at me with wide eyes. “Say that! Because that is the truth.”

“Alright, I get it, baby. I should have recognized what you needed much sooner, but taking our time will make the next week for us and that bed so much sweeter.” I pointed to the huge fluffy bed, and Jayne smiled.

“Who says I’m sleeping in that bed with you? I’m glad Alise interrupted what was happening in that bed because I want to know why you have been holding out on me for the past three months. Do you know how bad I’ve wanted for you just to kiss me like that?” Jayne touched her lips as if remembering the kiss we shared moments ago. “Do you know how it felt to be rejected so many times?”

“Jayne, it’s a long story, but it has nothing to do with how much I want you. Not even close.”

“Well, thanks to our friends, we have nothing but time on our hands, so start talking.”

“Jayne, let me start this off by telling you the most important thing.”

  “What’s that?”

  “I love you.”

  “Xander, you can’t just say—”

“No, I know that I do. When you stopped talking to me, I tried everything to get you out of my mind. We weren’t in a committed relationship, so I thought I could just call up another girl and move on. It didn’t work out as I planned. The whole time I was with her, I thought about you.”

Her eyes downcast to the floor. “I knew that you were sleeping with other women, Xander. As you said, we have no commitments to each other.”

“For three months after I met you, I didn’t touch another woman. I was celibate for longer than I had ever been. It wasn’t until you stopped talking to me that I tried to go back to my old ways, but I can’t see myself going backward anymore. I want to move forward with you.”

“Well, full disclosure, I met someone too, but he was a little on the weird side.”

  “Could he play Mortal Combat?”

Jayne pushed my shoulder. “Ha! I doubt he even knows what it is, but thank God that wasn’t the issue with him. I don’t need another gamer friend. That position is taken.”

I flashed a smile that faded when I thought about Jayne’s trip to Atlanta. “Yeah, well, Jeb told me you did the speed dating thing,” I said.

“I figured he would call and tell you, but at that point, I didn’t care. I felt rejected by you. And though I know we weren’t in an intimate relationship, I wanted to be. I don’t know how to feel about you being with another woman when I was practically begging for affection for months.”

I chanced moving closer to her, but she moved further away from me. “Jayne, if the guy you met wasn’t weird-acting, would you have slept with him?”

  “Maybe.”

“Well, let’s not look back. The only thing you should know, Jayne, is that no one, and I do mean no one, has ever been in here.” I patted my chest. “Like you are. I’m insanely in love with you, and I think it makes it sweeter that we spent months getting to know each other without getting into bed.”

Claiming her lips once again, I gripped her chin into my hands to hold her close to me.

  A low growl escaped me.

  “Jeb—” she whined.

“No looking back,” I said to quiet her objections.

“Oh, Jeb!” she murmured as I removed her shirt again and latched onto one of her juicy nipples then gave the other the same attention. “You have to stop this.”

“Are you sure that’s what you want?”

Her moans were my invitation to continue feasting on her breasts.

She tasted so good that I wanted more than I could taste at one time. Lifting her skirt, I gripped her soft ass with my long fingers.

“Damn, Jayne, where are your panties?”

  “I—uh. I’m not wearing any.”

I frowned, wondering why in the hell my woman wasn’t wearing panties. “Who did you think you were going to hook up with here?”

“Who knows? As horny as I’ve been, I was just staying ready, so I wouldn’t have to get ready.” She giggled.

I firmly gripped her thighs into my hands and pulled her close to me.

“Ouch, you’re going to leave a mark,” she fussed.

“From now on, wear panties unless you’re meeting up with me.”

“Jeb, you’re not my boss, okay? You’re just getting back in good with me. Don’t start—”

I gripped her ass tighter and kissed her roughly. Then, I made quick work of discarding my clothes. Soon, we were both naked except for her skirt that rode up on her thighs. My eyes swept over Jayne’s body in a quick lustful once-over before I placed my lips back on hers in a fiery kiss, my hands roaming to squeeze her soft ass in my palms. I loved the feel of her ass in my hands.

Jayne moaned into the kiss, her wetness sliding against my dick as our bodies collided. I kissed a trail down her neck to her breasts, squeezing the right one while sucking and lightly biting the left nipple. Jayne arched her back, pushing her breasts into my chest. Pushing her legs apart, I began to finger her. I pumped in and out of her quickly, curling my finger to reach her G-spot.

“Xander! Baby, I’m so sensitive! It’s been so long!” She moaned loudly, grinding her pussy into my hand, forcing me deeper inside. The beautiful sound of her arousal echoed off the walls of the bedroom, turning me on even more.

Just as Jayne was nearing her release, I removed my fingers from her core and inserted my rock hard dick in its place. Jayne whined as I entered her roughly.

She laid back down on the bed with her legs opened wide as I pushed into her, thrusting so that she could feel my girth and curve. I pulled out before burying myself into her warm pussy once again. I could see stars bursting before my eyes as Jayne adjusted to my curve with each thrust inside of her.

Jayne kissed me, meshing our lips together. She couldn’t seem to get enough kisses as she pulled me down by my neck and kissed me as if her life depended on it. After kissing Jayne once, I understood that hunger to do it over and over. I would never let her go hungry for my kisses ever again, and I prayed she never deprived me of her tasty lips.

It had been so long since I made love. I never felt like this before, so maybe I never made love until now.

Jayne moaned in pleasure as I stretched her delicious pussy to its max. I never wanted to stop making her moan in pleasure. I loved the feel of thrusting into her tight pussy, which squeezed me in its grip.

I was near my release, so I began to draw circles on her nub as I slammed into her. Jayne’s moans became louder, and she moved her hips faster to meet the strokes of my hand. The increased friction and fluid body movements drove me beyond the point of pleasure. This was ecstasy.

“Can you feel that?” I asked.

“Yes,” she moaned. “I’m about to fucking come, Xander! Oh, shit, you feel so good. Fuck! Me!”

“I want to feel you from the back.”

  “Huh?”

“I want you on your hands and knees.”

“I want to do it, but I can’t move,” she said, her body limp and almost out of breath.

I chuckled. “I’ll help you up, baby.”

Jayne reached her hand out to me, and I helped her get into position for me to enter her from behind. With her ass high in the air and her face resting on the pillow, I pushed inside, thrusting at a faster pace than before. The obscene sound of our bodies slapping together, flesh to flesh, filled the room. I fervently touched her nub and drew circles on it, causing Jayne to moan louder.

“Xander!” she said as she moved away, disconnecting our bodies. “Lay back on the bed.” She had a burst of energy when she pushed me down onto the bed and climbed on top of me. Her pussy gripped my cock as she slid down my shaft. Her warm wetness was pulsating—a clear signal that her orgasm was close. “I’m so close. Oh, goodness, I’m close,” Jayne moaned, gripping my shoulders tightly as she rode me.

“Come for me. I’m coming for you too, baby,” I said before thrusting into her one last time with a loud groan of her name.

Jayne shook as she orgasmed and collapsed onto the bed. I pulled out of her and lay down beside her. Looking into her eyes, I circled my arm around her back and held her close. Our hearts beat wildly together.

“I told you, I always end up on top,” she said breathily.

We laughed before I claimed her lips for a kiss. Within minutes, I was ready to challenge Jayne’s theory of whether she would end up on top in the end.

  Chapter 6

  Jayne

“Want to know what had me mesmerized about you from the beginning?” Xander asked as he traced circles on my back. We had just finished making love a second time, and that time, he ended up on top. Overachiever!

“What was it?” I asked, snuggling closer to him. His body heat was so comforting that I followed his every move.

“You resemble my mother,” he said, his voice low.

“Really? I would love to see a picture of her. Do you have one?”

Xander got out of bed and went over to get his wallet. He pulled out a picture and showed it to me. “Wow, I can see it. We do look alike. She’s beautiful.”

Removing the picture from my hand, Xander touched his mother’s face as he studied it. “Yeah. I think so too. Your resemblance is one of the main reasons I wanted to be with you and also the reason I wouldn’t allow myself to get close to you.”

So looking like his mother was a good and bad thing? The look on my face had to be one of confusion. Xander never voluntarily entered into a conversation about his mother. When I asked questions about her, he would only tell me that she passed away. That was as far as he would go, and he would cut the conversation short and leave my house. Now, he was talking openly about her.

“I’m confused. What do you mean when you say she was both the reason you wanted to be with me and the reason you didn’t?” I figured an open-ended question would get him to divulge as much as he wanted.

“You look like her, and it made me feel close to her when I was with you, so I wanted to be with you. But with the circumstances surrounding her death made me want to get far away from you because I felt like I owed her an explanation for why I didn’t help her.”

“I’m still confused. What could you have done to help her?”

“Don’t worry, if it sounds confusing to hear, try living in a nightmare for fourteen years.” His eyes went dark, and I could see tragedy enter them and take over his thoughts. “From the time I was fourteen until now, I have lived with tragic memories.”

Xander opening up to me would mean more than the passion we just shared. We now knew we could make passionate love. We could sit and talk to each other about things going on in the world. But he never told me about his life.

“Tell me what’s going on in that mind of yours, Xander. I’ve been waiting for you to do that for months.”

“I have a dangerous mind. Are you sure you want to enter it?”

  “I’m sure.”

“Alright. Brace yourself for what you’re about to hear,” he said.

I sat up and leaned back against the headboard. “Ready. Shoot.”

“When I was four, I saw my father kill my mother,” Xander began.

I gasped, and my hand landed on imaginary pearls on my neck. Nothing could have prepared me for that to come out of Xander’s mouth.

  “Are you serious?” I asked.

“Unfortunately, yes. He was an addict who came home high out of his mind all the time, and he took his anger out on my mother. One fatal night, he attacked her, and she didn’t make it out alive. I found him standing over her lifeless body, saying, ‘I’m sorry, son. I lost control.’ Those words I will never forget.”

I removed my hand that was bracing my neck and placed it on his chest. “Oh, Xander. I’m so sorry that happened to your mother.
It must have been a scary thing to witness. I couldn’t imagine living through that.”

“It was scary. I wish I were older at the time so that I could have told the police what I saw.”

“Is it too late? You know, to go to the police?”

“Alabama has no statute of limitations on murder, but I don’t think it would change anything. My father is friends with a lot of police officers, some of the same ones who falsified the reports back then. They would still stand by him now. I requested the reports before, and it appears the officers wrote it off as a woman who fell and banged herself up. It was ruled as an accidental death. To them, it was an open and shut case.”

“You could come forward with what you witnessed. It might make a difference,” I tried to convince him, although I wasn’t sure of it. It would be worth a try.

“No, I’m not going to pursue it. After it happened, my father checked himself into rehab and changed his life. He has changed. I think he learned from his mistake.”

Without knowing Xander’s father, I couldn’t make a judgment about whether or not he’d changed. “It sounds like you forgive him.”

“Jayne, he’s my father. And, I guess, on some level, I have forgiven him. I want him to come clean and tell me the truth about what happened that night. I think he owes me and my mother that much respect.”

“How have you been dealing with this? Are you in counseling?”

“No, never went to counseling. I’ve just been drinking alcohol to numb my feelings and erase thoughts of what happened.”

“That’s not good, Xander. You need to talk to someone.”

“I’m talking to you now. And I’ve told Bruiser about it. Bruiser and I went to the cemetery yesterday. That was my first time going without my father. I promised my mother at her gravesite that I would make him give me answers about her death. That will be good enough for me. I just want him to admit to what happened.”

I laid my head back on the headboard. “Who would have guessed that you were dealing with all of this? I just thought that you were avoiding me.”

Xander stared into my eyes as he said, “In a way, I was avoiding you. I was afraid of falling in love with you and treating you the way my father treated my mother. With other women, I didn’t see myself with them longterm, so I had no problem sleeping with them and sending them on their way. But with you, I felt something more meaningful happening between us. Something that I thought I would break because it’s in my blood to break women.”
