Storm (The Scorpion MC Series Book 3) Page 2

by Delia Petrano

Storm- Hey Tessa I just wanted to check in to see how you’re doing. Call or text me so I know you’re okay.

I place my phone on the table then jump in the shower. Washing my hair I start to worry about Tessa more. I just have a bad feeling. Something is going to happen. Shutting off the water I wrap a towel around my waist. I grab my phone before I went to my room and Tessa hasn’t responded yet. I put on my boxers than lay down and close my eyes to I drift to sleep.

  Tessa

Turning off the shower I wrap myself in a towel then grab a pair of jeans and a top out of my bag. I get dressed and put my pocket knife in my pocket. I grab my phone from the night stand.

Storm- Hey Tessa I just wanted to check in to see how your doing. Call or text me so I know your okay.

Smiling at my phone I about to reply but something felt off. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, I turn around but didn’t see anything other than a cloth that went over my face. I try to fight out off the man hold but everything fades to black.

Slowly opening my eyes I’m not able to move, I try to move my arms but cannot. I look down and I see that I’m tied to a chair.

  “You’re awake.”

  “What the fuck Rob?”

  “Hello beautiful welcome home.”

“I’m not home, now let me go.”

“That’s not happening Tessa. You are mine.”

“The hell I am, I don’t like you.I don’t want to be with you and I’m sure as hell not yours.” Rob slaps me and I glare at him. I taste blood in my mouth and I spit at his feet.

“You’re going to pay for that.”

“Don’t make me mad and that won’t happen.”

“Go fuck yourself.” He punches my stomach then walks out the room and slams the door closed. I really need to go home where it’s safe this place drains me, my mother is a crazy woman who is dead and still trying to control me I don’t care what is in her will anymore I’m staying here any longer. I’m sick and tired of being here this is not my home not anymore, I’m done with all of this shit. The door opens and Rob walks back in.

“You can’t keep me here, I have a home and a family I have to get back to.”

“You’re not going anywhere you belong to me now, your brother sold you to me and that means you are mine.” My mouth drops open in shock.

  “My brother did what?”

“You heard me right. Will sold you to me.”

“You can’t just buy people and keep them captive!” I scream.

“Sorry to break it to you beautiful but I did.” He says with a ugly smirk on his face.

“Not sorry to break it to you but I don’t belong to you and I love someone else.” Rob’s face turned red and he punched me twice in the face and three times in the stomach. I wince at the pain, I probably have bruised ribs right now. I glare up at him, my blood boiling with anger.

“I swear on everything I love, you will pay for this.”

“Whatever you say, I will be back. Got to get you some food.” When I hear the front door close and the car start; I reach in my pocket and grab my pocket knife.

“Thank god for his stupidity.” I start cutting my hands free. The ropes fall to the floor and I rub my wrist before cutting the rope on my ankles I walk over to the window and peek through the blinds, the car was still gone. I walk out of the house and run to the hotel I had been staying at. When I get to the hotel I stop running and head straight to my room in a rush. I open the door and saw my phone on the floor I grab my phone then my bag.

“Thank god it’s charged.” When I get out of the hotel a cab was waiting, I slide in the back seat.

  “To the bus terminal please.”

“Sure thing ma’am.” As the driver pulls in the bus terminal I release the breath I had been holding since I got out of Rob’s house. I pay the cab driver then purchase a ticket home. I grab my phone out of my pocket and dial Erika’s number.

“Hello girl how’s it going?” Erika asks with a happy tone in her voice.

“Hey Erika, I need your help.”

“What’s wrong Tessa? What happened?” She asks with a panicked tone.

“I will explain everything when I get home but I’m in trouble Erika, and I need your help.”

“Of course, you know I got your back no matter what. Come home safe.”

“I will see you soon.” Boarding the bus I look out the window making sure Rob hasn’t found me. When the bus starts to move, I feel relief,, I can’t believe my brother would sell me to that bastard. Even though I’m on the bus I won’t feel safe until I get home. All I want is to feel safe, be able to sleep without feeling like something is going to go wrong. I miss my family and I want to feel Storm’s strong arms around me I need and want to feel safe, I’m never leaving home again or coming back to this hell hole.

  Two Days Later

When the bus stops, I grab my bag and leave the bus once my feet hit the floor my body relaxes. I get into a cab and went straight home. Before I see Erika, I need to get clean I feel so damn dirty. Walking inside my house I couldn’t help but to smile it feels good being home again. I head into the bathroom, I wince when I take off my shirt. I look down and I was right about the bruised ribs. The water hitting my body feels good I feel the dirt running down my skin. Slowly washing my body I wince in pain as I rinse my body off then shut the water off. Drying myself off I grab a pair of sweatpants and a T-Shirt. I feel comfortable, I lay down and close my eyes and drift off to sleep finally feeling safe.

  Storm

Punching the heavy bag, I felt someone behind me.

“Hey Stormie.” I roll my eyes.

“Didn’t I tell you stop calling me that Logankins.” He comes around and grabs the bag with a smirk on his face.

“Yeah but I like seeing your irritated face when I say it. Plus it's cute when you roll your eyes without realizing you’re doing it.” For a straight man he is such a damn flirt. He flirts with anyone that he thinks is sexy in anyway even guys. It doesn't bother him at all if he thinks you’re sexy he will tell you without hesitation.

“You are such a flirt you know that right?”

“I’ve been told that, but everything I say is true though. There's nothing wrong with appreciating a good looking person.”

“You have a good point.” Logan is right I will never admit that out loud. He's right about a lot of things and he's not bad looking himself.

“I always do cuteness.” I shake my head and continue to punch the heavy bag.

“How is everything anyways? Have you heard from Tessa?” Logan asks he looks worried about something I just don't know what it is.

“No I haven't, I have a bad feeling something is going to happen. I just don't know when and how.”

  Logan nods his head.

“Emma is still being stubborn and won't come home yet; and all I want to do is bring her home and help her with whatever the problem is.”

“I'm with you on that. How's Dalson?”

“He's Dalson, trying to stay strong and not show that he's worried about Emma. I know Dalson really well he can't hide how worried he is about her. We all can tell, but every time she writes him a letter he feels a little better knowing that she's okay and safe at that moment.”

“That's good. I just want both girls to come home already so I can worry less.” I punch the bag in irritation.

“I'm with you on that. All we do is worry and hope that they are both safe. I can make you feel better all you have to do is come to my place and I'll take care of you.” I stop punching the bag, I bend down and grab my bag with a smirk. I will never let him see a smirk on my face when he is flirting with me not happening.

“I have to go talk to you later, Logan.”

“Oh come on have some fun for once. You are always so uptight and worried about someone all the time have some fun.” I turn around and raise an eyebrow.

“Fine what are we going to do?” I ask he has a point I need to do something anything that would help me
not worry so much. Logan eyes widen in surprise and I don't blame him. I always tell him no.

“We can watch something on Netflix.” That's actually not a bad idea.

“Alright fine lead the way Hot Shot.” He smirks as he walks past me. Since the day I met Logan, I always got a positive energy from him it's probably why I let him get me out of my comfort zone. The first time he flirted with me he caught me off guard. I walked away, and now it's normal and it doesn't bother me like it use to; if I'm being honest it didn't really bother me I just didn't know what to say or do. I follow Logan to his car he opens the door for me I raise an eyebrow and he shrugs.

“What I can be a gentleman at times.” And I couldn't help but to laugh to myself when he walks away. As Logan is driving us to the Devils compound he glances in my direction.

“What do you want to watch Stormie?”

“I don't know sweetie when we get there we can scroll through Netflix until we find something to watch.”

“Sounds good to me.” Logan pulls into the compound when I get out of the car Dalson was coming out.

“Hey Storm, is there something I can help you with?”

“No I'm good. Logan convinced me to hang out with him and to stop worrying so much about things.” Dalson smiles at me.

“That's Logan alright, did he flirt his way to making you say yes?”

“Yes, yes he did but he made good points.” I told Dalson with a smile.

“He always does it's one of his good and annoying qualities.”

“I heard that Dalson. Now can you stop trying to steal my date.”

“Sorry Logan, he's all yours.” Logan opens the door and I walk in the building. We walk up the stairs then into his room. Logan lays down on his bed and pats the spot next to him.

“Come on Stormie lay down with me I don't bite unless you want me to.” I roll my eyes then lay down next to my major flirt.

“Have you ever gotten punched in the face for being such a flirt?” I ask curiously.

“No I haven't, but it's different with you.” I turn my head and stare into his eyes.

  “And how is that?”

“It might be a one way street but I think of you as my best friend and a hot man that I can flirt with any time I want. Plus you don't mind when I do flirt with you, you low key like it.”

  “You're wrong.” I tell him.

“Which part? The part that I said you like it when I do?”

“No not that. The part when you said the best friend is one way street, I do think of you as my best friend. It's why it doesn't bother me when you flirt.” Logan smiles at me as he puts on Netflix. Logan and I have a weird and different friendship. One thing is for sure is that I care about him and I will always protect the people that I cherish and he will always be one of those people.

“How about this show?” I look up to see Arrow.

“Arrow, that's what you want to watch?”

“If you tell me you don't like superheroes I will cry.” I laugh he can be so dramatic at times.

“Can you keep a secret? ou can't tell nobody if you do I will deny everything and we will never have a date again.”

  “So this is a date?”

“I should of known that's the only thing you would hear.”

  “No I heard everything I won't say a word.”

“Good I do like superheroes and you better keep that to yourself. Got it?”

“Your secret is safe with me Stormie. Oh and about these dates we should do this at least once a week.”

“Date night once a week here watching whatever we want to watch.” Logan’s eyes widen in surprise.

  “Really?”

“Yes it could be fun and less stressful.”

“Amen to that.” Logan puts on the first episode of Arrow and I relax on the bed for the first time in a long while since I was relaxed.

  ***

Hearing my phone ring I grab it off my dresser I smile when I saw Logan’s name on my screen.

“Miss me already it's only been two days.”

“Yes two long days Stormie I was thinking since we are on season two and Berry we should go back and forth between Arrow and Flash.”

  “Alright sounds good but…”

“No buts Stormie date night remember you promised.”

“I know Logan I promise we will but I made another promise to a little girl that we will go to the park today. So rain check?”

“I'll let this slide just for the fact it's Emily’s play date with her uncle.”

“Thank you Logan I promise if not tonight then tomorrow night.”

“Alright talk to you later Stormie.”

“Talk to you later Hot Shot.” Walking into the living roo, Emily runs right to me I pick her up and kiss her cheek.

“I'm ready to go to the park uncle Storm.”

“Alright let's have some fun shorty.” I place Emily on the floor and she runs to the car. I buckle Emily in her seat than drove to the park. When we arrive at the park Emily starts to run towards the swing set. I push Emily on the swing.

  “Uncle Storm?”

  “Yes shorty?”

“I want to learn how to throw a knife just like you.” Did I just hear what I think I did ?

“Emily you're five years old why would you want to do that for?”

“Because it's cool when you do it and don't you think it's time for me to learn how to protect myself?”

“Are you asking me to train you Emily?”

“Yes I am, I want you to be the first.” I'm honored that she wants me to train her but is it is not time for her to even think of training.

“I'll talk to your dad about it later.”

  “Thank you uncle Storm.”

“Your welcome sweetie.” Running through out the park chasing Emily never gets old.

“Alright it's time to go home Emily.”

“Okay I'm getting a little tired.” Emily grabs my hand and walks towards my car.

“Freeze and put your hands where I can see them.” You have to be kidding me right now. I turn my head to see a cop with his gun pointed right at me I look down at Emily and she looks nervous.

“It's okay sweetie nothing for you to worry about do me the favor and close your eyes.” She nods her head and closes her eyes. I put my hands in the air and Emily grabs my shirt very tightly now she's scared and I hate it. Why in god's name did they have to do this shit now.

“Do I have to read you your rights?” Officer Weber ask.

“No you don't.” He puts me in and cuffs, when he graba Emily arm, she starts screaming bloody murder. That's my girl.

“You’re safe now sweetie there nothing to be scared of.” Officer Weber said. What the fuck is he talking about. Emily did not stop screaming.

“Emily, it's okay we are going into a car keep your eyes closed.”

“Okay.” I will not let her see me like this and have her be more scared then she already is. I get in the car first, and Emily wouldn't get into any other car unless it was the car I was in. She moves closer to me and puts her head on my arm.

  “Uncle Storm.” She whispers.

  “Yes sweetie?”

  “Are we going to jail?”

“You will be fine. Okay nothing for you to worry about.” Getting out of the car Emily grabs my shirt and we walk inside the police station. I haven't been in here for a couple of years and I sure as hell don't miss it.

“Emily sit right here on this chair okay don't get up from this spot.”

  “Okay.”

I walk to the room then look back at her she is playing with her hair and her eyes are still closed. She is scared and I hate what they’re putting her through. I haven't done a damn thing wrong lately.

“Uncle Storm can I open my eyes now?”

“Yes princess you can.” I made sure she couldn't see my hands. I smile at her and she smiles back, she looks less scared now.

“I don't like it here.” She says and I couldn't help but to laugh.

>   “Neither do I princess.” I sit in the chair and glare at the man.

  “Why am I here?”

“Kidnapping.” What the hell is he talking about?
