Hard Rock Hot Heart Page 13

I handed Ina a bottle of beer. She opened it immediately, and drank it down in quick, eager gulps. After she set the empty bottle back on the table, she shocked herself by burping. “So sorry, ladies, but I guess it had to happen,” she said, joining in our laughter.

A few minutes later Nellie and Jenny walked into the living room, holding hands. Both of them were barefoot, and they’d obviously dressed in a hurry. It was also more than obvious Jenny wasn’t wearing a bra. When she noticed our looks she was blushing, while Nellie’s pretty face was shining.

They joined us at the table, and we all ate and chatted about our gig. None of us mentioned Emilia. I had no idea if Jenny was thinking about her, or if Nellie had made her forget the mind games her ex-girlfriend had played with her. Our black-haired beauty was silent, listening to the rest of us and occasionally exchanging smiles with Nellie.

Ralf and two of his friends came in and joined us for pizza and beer, having stowed our equipment in our barn. They soon said their goodnights and left. Then Nellie said good night, too, glancing at Jenny, prompting her to blush and say good night to us, too. We all smiled at them knowingly. Plainly, they were going to go back up to Nellie’s bedroom, and they weren’t going to sleep any time soon.

Once they were gone, Ina stood up and smiled. “Listen, Bitch Goddess, why don’t you and your girlfriend go upstairs, too?” I was about to object, but Ina cut me off good-naturedly. “I’ll take care of the dishes and the trash, Bette. You shouldn’t have to worry about trivial things like that, not tonight. Okay?”

Pulling myself to my feet, I smiled back at her. “Thank you, Princess, you’re the best.” I looked at Tanja, who grinned, as she rose and took my hand. She turned to my beautiful blonde bandmate and said politely, “Thank you, Ina.”

Ina beamed at her and nodded. “Just take good care of our girl tonight, Babe.”

Tanja flashed my best friend an evil grin. “Oh, I intend to do just that, Ina. Good night.”

I laughed softly, shaking my head. Without saying anything else I kissed my best friend good night, and then led Tanja upstairs. Our first stop was the big bathroom on the second floor, because I needed a shower after our gig. Of course, Tanja remembered our first night together, and her eyes grew wide. I pulled her close to me, and began kissing her passionately the moment we entered the room. While kissing we swiftly undressed one another. Within moments we were both naked and moved to the shower stall.

I turned on the warm water, and as it began flowing over our bodies, we kissed again. We made love under the shower, and once we’d both gotten one another off, we went to bed. We laid down together, and when I spooned Tanja she snuggled closer to me, pressing her tight little butt against my body. I fell asleep with my arm around her slender waist.

When I woke up the next morning, Tanja was still asleep, nestled up against me. My arm was around her waist, and my breasts were pressed against her back. Still half asleep I tried to understand my feelings. Somehow, waking up with this girl in my arms gave me a very warm feeling in my stomach. Was this happiness? I wasn’t able to answer that question, I just knew it was good to have her here with me like this.

I’d kicked many other girls out of my bed first thing in the morning, having become the Bitch Goddess of my reputation, and I’d truly earned that image. I had no intention of doing that to Tanja however. On the contrary. Tentatively raising myself up enough to look at her lovely face without waking her, I stared at her for a long moment. She looked liked an Angel, I thought, so beautiful and peaceful and sweet. My heart began pounding, and I felt warm all over again. The butterflies in my stomach started doing crazy things. Butterflies instead of airplanes in my stomach!

A little smile began to play about her kissable lips, before she opened her beautiful eyes and turned toward me.

“Good morning, Bitch Goddess,” she said, blinking at me sleepily. “Were you just staring at me?” She laughed a little, breathlessly.

“Good morning, Baby Doll,” I replied softly, stroking her long, blonde hair. “And yeah, I’m afraid I couldn’t help staring at you, Angel Face. You’re just too beautiful.”

She giggled and the sleep left her eyes. “Awww! Who knew that Bette Coldheart could be so sweet?” Giggling again, she kissed me softly on the lips.

My heart had stopped pounding, but now it started again, and I suddenly knew I had to ask her to go on a real date with me, regardless if it was the right moment to ask her or not. What was even the right moment anyway? Asking her made absolute sense and so I blurted out, “Listen Tanja, what would you like to do if you were to go out with me?”

I knew it wasn’t the best wording I could have used. Actually, it sounded quite lame, but it had the effect I’d desired. She immediately sat up in bed. “Are you asking me out, Bette Coldheart?” she yelped. Her hair flew about her as she shook her head in disbelief. Then she squealed, “On a real date? Oh my fucking God, I can’t believe it.”

I had to laugh at her enthusiasm. She was so adorably cute. “Oh yeah, My Crazy Little Bitch, I want to ask you out on a fuckin’ date.”

For the blink of an eye she seemed to be really shocked or she doubted the earnestness of my words, what ever. But then she pounced on me, wrapping her arms around me and showering my face with kisses. “Oh my God, I can’t believe it,” she repeated over and over again. After she’d calmed down she leaned over me and gazed deeply into my eyes. “You’re really serious, aren’t you?” she asked.

“Yeah, Angel Face, I’m totally fuckin’ serious,” I declared emphatically.

“I want to go on a date with you, Bette, I really do,” she said earnestly, before she started giggling again. “It did take you long enough to ask me, didn’t it?”

“Yeah, true, but I finally did ask you, didn’t I, Baby Doll?”

“Yeah, you did.” She paused, thinking intently, before she asked me, “So, where are you going to take me?”

I sighed. “Angel Face, it’s been so long since I’ve been on a real date with a girl, I can’t even remember where girls like to go to on dates.” I smiled wryly. “Which is why I asked you where you wanted to go a couple of minutes ago.”

“Ohhhh!” She put her index finger to her lower lip, and she screwed up her face as if she were trying to solve a fiendish algebra problem. Then she announced, “Okay. I want us to do something special, something that’s romantic, but also crazy.”

Crazy? I wondered. For a minute I was stumped, but then I had an idea of how we could start our evening together. I smiled at my beautiful lover. “You like Japanese food, don’t you, Baby Doll?”

When she smiled and nodded eagerly, I went on. “How about we start by having a dinner at a nice Japanese place, and while we’re eating, we try to come up with something crazy to do afterwards?”

She flashed me her killer smile and said, “That’s one fucking amazing idea, Bette Coldheart.”

As much as I ached to have my date with Tanja it had to wait another couple of days. For one thing we had another gig to play. So, Ina, Nellie, and I were sitting quietly in our living room, waiting for Jenny to show up so we could leave for our latest gig that night. It was then that it occurred to our pretty drummer to ask Ina the question I’d been meaning to ask her, but had totally forgotten to do so.

“Ina?” she said, “can I ask you something personal?”

Our beautiful lead guitarist, who was sitting on the other end of the sofa from me, looked up from her phone in surprise. “Of course, Nell. What is it?”

Nellie hesitated for a second before she asked the question I had a burning interest in, too. “I’ve noticed you’ve stopped bringing home girls after our gigs recently. So, I was wondering,” she said, leaning forward in the armchair across from us and lacing her fingers together on her knee. “Is that because you’ve met someone you’re particularly interested in?” She turned her molten dark chocolate eyes toward me for a moment, before glancing back at Ina. “Like Bette has?”
/>   I shot a startled look at Ina. That wasn’t an explanation for the change in Ina’s behavior that had occurred to me at all, but in light of our recent conversation it suddenly made absolute sense. As I stared at her in astonishment, I saw a smile grow on her pretty face, and the smile reached her blue eyes, too.

“Just a minute, you two,” she said, “I have something to show you.” She got up and left the room.

When Ina had gone I looked at Nellie in disbelief, and saw how her face lit up and her dark eyes were gleaming.

“Oh, My God,” Nellie exclaimed, “I was right! Ina does have a new girlfriend!” Nell gestured excitedly. “Or something like a girlfriend.”

“But how’d you know?” I demanded, still unable to fully believe what I was hearing. I shook my head. Why hadn’t my best friend told me about it?

Before Nellie could give me an answer Ina was back and we fell silent. She was carrying her laptop, and a little smile played about her lips as she sat down in the middle of the couch. She gestured for Nellie to sit down next to her, on the far side from me, and of course Nellie did at once glancing at me as she did. I could tell she was having trouble containing her excitement.

“So, a couple of weeks ago, a girl came into the boutique,” Ina began to explain, opening her laptop and booting it up. “She was very cute and flirty, and so we got to talking.” My bandmate’s long, slender fingers danced over the keyboard until the picture of a girl appeared on the computer’s screen.

The girl was blonde, slender, very pretty, and she wore her hair short. She was smiling to the camera mischievously, and she somehow managed to look completely innocent and absolutely sexually provocative at the same time. I could see why Ina felt attracted to her. That girl was dynamite under a seemingly cute and innocent exterior.

“This is Kira,” Ina said softly, gazing at the girl on the screen. “She’s Russian. Her father’s rich and he spoils her outrageously, but she’s very sweet and sexy. And I love her accent.”

Her tone and the way my friend looked at this Kira girl’s picture told me that she’d fallen for her really hard.

“She’s very pretty, but she looks quite young, Ina,” Nellie remarked. “How old is she?”

Ina glanced at Nell with a quick smile. “She’s nineteen. She’s enrolled at the university, studying medicine.” She pressed a key and another photo of Kira appeared. In this one she was winking at the camera and sticking out her tongue.

“So, you’ve been seeing her since she showed up at ‘Rock the Goth’?” Nellie asked.

I listened to the two of them as I stared at the picture of Kira. I couldn’t quite get over my astonishment that Ina was apparently in love. But hadn’t she told me that she was optimistic to find someone new after her disappointment with Caro? Did she know Kira already when we had that talk?

Ina nodded, smiling. “Yes, I have been seeing her since then, and now…I think it’s time for you to get to know her a little better.” Her fingers danced on the laptop’s keyboard again, and a video began to play. The video showed Kira lying on her stomach on a bed. Apparently she was totally naked, since her bare buttocks were visible in the background. She smiled cheerfully and waved as though she could see us.

“Hello Bette, Nellie and Jenny!” she said in a cute Russian accent. “We cannot yet meet in person, My Beautiful Ladies, because I must go to see my father in London, but I will be back soon,” she said in an earnest tone. “But till then it will be nice for my beautiful Ina to show you the many nudes I have sent to her,” she said with a charming smile. “I have been listening to ‘The Coldhearts’ a lot recently and I love your music, and I lust for you all very much.”

Kira had a bit more to say, but I wasn’t able to listen anymore, because by that point I couldn’t keep from laughing my ass off. I had to cover my face with my hands and put my head between my legs. “Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit,” I gasped when I could breathe again. “I cannot believe this.” I took a handkerchief out of my jeans pocket, and wiped my face.

Looking up at Ina again I discovered she was watching me. Judging from the tears in her own eyes, she’d been laughing pretty hard herself. Nellie was shaking her pretty head incredulously. “Does she always say crazy things like that?” she asked Ina. “How can she be a student of medicine here, if she…?”

Ina smiled. “No, she doesn’t, Nell, and before you ask, Bette, no, she’s not as insane as she pretends to be either. In fact she’s very smart, but she’s just really silly, too.”

“Oh?” Nellie said, skeptically, “so does that mean she doesn’t actually want you to show us her nudes? And she doesn’t want to sleep with all of us?”

Our beautiful lead guitarist smiled sweetly. “Well, Kira actually does want you to see her nudes. She’s very comfortable with being naked. She loves showing off her amazing body.”

As Nellie’s eyebrows shot up, Ina’s fingers danced over the keyboard again. “Here, they’re in this folder…”

Nellie rolled her eyes and waved her off. “Spare me the details.”

I burst out laughing again. “Holy fuck, Ina, I’m not even going to ask if she wants to fuck all of us.”

Ina started to shake with laughter herself. Did that mean Kira wanted to fuck all of us? Oh shit! She sounded like she’d be fun to have around anyway once she would be back from London. Tanja was surely going to love her. I was certain about that. They were both smart and sexy, but apparently that Kira girl was even crazier than Tanja was.

Nellie cleared her throat. “Well, Bette, you can do whatever want with this crazy Russian girl of Ina’s, but there are limits to the number of girls I can deal with at one time.”

Ina smiled at her innocently. “Yes, Nell, I know, and your limit is two, right?”

That got her a wry smile from our pretty drummer. “Yes, that’s right. I don’t know what Jenny’s limit is though.”

I grimaced. “Well, if she can’t stay away from Emilia, I guess you’ll find out pretty quick, Baby Doll,” I told her.

Suddenly Nellie looked up toward the entrance of the living room, and turned pale. Ina and I looked up, too, and saw that Jenny was here. Looking at her I could tell that she hadn’t been able to stay away from Emilia until things had cooled down a bit. She was a complete mess. Her jet-black hair was disheveled, and her tears had left black rivulets of eye shadow and Mascara on her lovely face.

How close happiness and pain were! As Jenny walked toward us, Ina silently closed her laptop and got up to make room for her on the couch. Our youngest band member sat down, and began to tell us about her latest romantic disaster. I hated drama, that’s for sure, but Jenny really opened up this time, not sparing herself, and told us everything that had gone down with Emilia the previous night and this morning.

If the point of Emilia’s little game had been to make Jenny jealous, it had had some success. The guy Emilia had flirted with during our acoustic gig was Stephen, her band’s new drummer. After our gig Jenny had decided to try to reconcile with her redheaded ex-girlfriend. When they’d seen one another last night, things had gone well at first. As a matter of fact the two girls had slept together.

But the next day they’d gotten into an enormous fight. Emilia had discovered that her clever plan to make Jenny jealous had worked entirely too well. When Emilia just mentioned the drummer’s name, our black-haired beauty had shocked her by flying into a jealous rage and screaming at her. In her rage, Jenny had fled from Emilia’s apartment. Eventually, Jenny had wound up alone and full of remorse. She hated herself for hurting Emilia, who she was obviously still very much in love with.

Nellie, Ina, and I listened to her story in shocked silence. No one said a word. The mood in the living room had changed dramatically. Just a couple of minutes ago we had laughed about Kira’s follies. The more Jenny told us about what had gone done, the more shocked I became.

When Jenny fell silent, I exchanged glances with Ina and Nellie. I knew we all loved Jenny dearly. She was normally a sweet girl, bu
t obviously she had another side we hadn’t seen till now. We’d had no idea that she was capable of losing her temper the way she did, or that she could be so jealous, or that she could fuck things up so badly.

Ina was the first who broke the silence. “Well, that certainly didn’t go well,” she said with a heavy sigh, stating the obvious. She rested her head against the back of the couch, closed her eyes, and became lost in her own thoughts, maybe remembering her own drama with Caro. Maybe she was wondering whether things with Kira could end as badly. It was obvious though that Ina had no intention of continuing the discussion.

After Ina fell silent, Nellie got up from the couch. She paced a little in front of it, face impassive, and her dark eyes unreadable. Jenny watched her anxiously. Her face was like an open book. She was clearly afraid of Nellie’s reaction and that Nellie would ditch her. Then Nellie stopped and turned to her lover. She folded her arms and said coolly, “You know, Jenny, I feel sorry for Emilia, I really do.”

Her words made Jenny cringe. Her shoulders sank even more. Nellie’s dark eyes examined her thoughtfully, before she went on. “You weren’t fair to her, Jenny. She slept with you last night, so you know she still wants to be with you. And since you’re still sleeping with me, you had no right to throw a fit when Emilia mentioned that drummer, Stephen, who she may or may not be involved with.”

Nellie’s words made Jenny bite her bottom lip anxiously. Nellie shook her head in disbelief. “This is a side of you I haven’t seen before, Jenny. I wouldn’t have thought you’d have such a quick temper, or that you were capable of that kind of jealousy.” Nellie fell silent and became pensive. She was clearly shocked by Jenny’s behavior. The latter stared at her lover in anguish.

As things looked it was my turn again to save the situation. This was exactly the reason why I hated lesbian drama. Things were a mess and I knew I had to do something. It was clear that Jenny needed to learn a lesson, but at the same time I was aware how much she was suffering. That was one thing. As the leader of her band I needed to make sure that she was capable of going on stage at our gig tonight and giving the kind of performance our audience was expecting of all of us.
