“Exer.” Oh goodness, I’m gushing like a baby as my resolve weakens.
This alien before me is no prince. He’s a king. He’s a fucking Greek God.
He’s Exer.
My alien inhales deeply with a dreamy smile on his face before he opens his eyes. “My words must please you. You are aroused suddenly.”
I blush and lower my head. “Yeah, well. I don’t have a great sniffer, but your dick is a pretty good indication of how you’re feeling too, buster.” He chuckles, a warm and throaty sound I bet not many others have heard. I can’t see him laughing with Lavig. He’s never really mentioned family. I guess none of that matters. He’s here now and smiling with me.
Exer’s always been different than the other aliens on Hethdiss. He not only believed in Prince Korben’s ideals, but he lived by them. He allowed a woman to embarrass him, and he did it because he wanted to prove not every male would send a woman to the hunts for disrespecting them. Could any of the others walk the walk as much as they talk the talk? Could Hujun do it? Could Dolan? Could any of those cocky bastards following the state girls around allow themselves to be humiliated as Exer did? I want to say no. And that’s not because I doubt the other Sidyths, it’s because I want to believe mine is unique.
It’s probably true. There isn’t another alien like Exer in the entire universe.
His strength, his soul, and his secretive nature is all part of who he is. He’s not bad to look at either. Just staring into those, stern golden eyes, I find myself leaning closer and closer. I want to kiss him. I want to claim him. I want the entire planet to know (Layla included, whether she has a man or not) that this alien will be no one’s, but mine. I’ll be the only one sucking his dick. I’ll be the only one he’ll go down on. He’s only going to have sex with me.
Kissing him more deeply, his massive cock bobs around my clit. It sends shivers of pleasure up and down my spine, and I grip his short hair, desperate to pull him against me. I love the feeling of his bare skin against mine. He’s an alien, but without scales on the front of his body, it’s like hooking up with a super-sized athletic human. I’m not short, but Exer’s so big that his entire being easily fills my world. He groans into the kisses, testing to see if we can allow our tongues to ‘dance’, and I invite him in, swirling that incredibly long and forked tongue along with mine.
One of my hands leaves his hair and dips lower. I trace his collarbone and his pecs. I tickle and tease each ab before drifting further south. He’s hard. I’m not checking for that. I’m aching to feel him, so I brush my fingers across his crown. He jerks violently, pulling his mouth away from mine and suddenly cups both of my asscheeks. I yelp in surprise, feeling shockingly small in his arms as he stands up and starts to position my pussy for penetration.
Gone is the brooding, moody alien.
What I see before me now is the reason Lavig must have called him a good lover.
Feeling light as air, I wrap my arms around his neck, almost breathless when he starts to shift his cock at my opening. Like the softest of whispers, it tickles against the hairs around my sex, and I’m squirming with need. Can’t he feel that I’m ready? He knows how this works! But when I look into his eyes, there’s a confidence there — a smirk quirks in the one corner of his mouth.
He’s messing with me. So maybe all Sidyths are as cocky as Dolan!
He lowers me slightly, and suddenly I’m no longer laughing. Even with his crown brushing my clit, I feel the strength and power in his cock. Despite not having big arms like Dolan, he holds me up and lowers me with ease, pushing his cock more and more deeply between my folds. I feel the scales, and it’s as Blythe described. He’s like the most glorious sex toy down there.
Our eyes meet, and there’s such a look of softness mixed with desire that I almost come right then and there. He keeps lowering me until I gasp and he’s entirely inside of me. I arch my back and stare at the moons through the talas, trying not to pay attention to Hinda who’s watching us from the shelter. Dang, she really is like a dog.
Exer wriggles me down a little further until I’m practically seated on his cock. There’s such a boyishly charming smile on his face and I gasp out, feeling us connect fully. Why did I wait so long to get here?
Why was I so convinced Exer wasn’t a prince? Everything is princely about him. His looks. His eyes. His thighs. His touch. His intensity.
He’s a mother fucking Adonis.
And now this alien has got me cursing.
When Exer starts rocking me up and down his length in a gentle rhythm, I’m all but purring. Sex with Exer is nothing like I imagined. I thought it’d be awkward and quiet, but after only a few short thrusts, he’s grunting and hissing, and I’m squealing like a girl who’s using her vibrator for the first time. I wrap my arms more tightly around Exer’s neck, hoping to help so he doesn’t feel like he’s doing all the work, but something tells me he’s enjoying it either way. He cups the cheeks of my ass more tightly, and I feel his claws breaking the skin, but I hardly care. Sex has never been this good before.
Never so wild.
He helps me ride him once we find a good groove, moving up and down together as one. I can’t resist throwing my hair around like a porn star because I’m so hot and horny with need. Every scale hits me in the right place. I feel battered and bruised from his passion, but I’m enjoying every second. I love his hands curled into the flesh of my ass. I love when he sucks hard on my neck when we both hit a spot so deep and delicious, we can barely control ourselves. My breasts bounce across his face and somehow Exer manages to snake his tongue around one of my nipples while he continues to thrust.
Good. Gravy.
This is so incredible I don’t know how much longer I’ll hold on.
Was it like this for the others? Are all Sidyths gifted in the bedroom or is Exer a special case?
A very, very special case.
“Christ on a cracker,” I mutter, all but going limp from the intensity of his movements. I’m no virgin, but I’ve never had sex like this before. No one’s ever filled me so deeply. I’ve never felt so naughty. So sexual. I’ve never felt so desired.
I’m on the edge of reaching my orgasm because it’s growing more intense. But Exer is still going strong, hissing and growling like a wild animal. Maybe that’s why he feels such a connection to them. In the bedroom (or the woods, I mean), Exer is a beast. Who needs a prince? The big bad wolf has all the more talent to tease, taste and take me, my dear. I cackle loudly at the idiocy of the crazy ranting going on inside my head.
“Close,” I manage to gasp when my body gets all… fluttery. “Exer, I’m close.”
He growls, pushing and pulling me up and down harder on his cock. I don’t need to say much else before his hand lowers and his thumb brushes against my clit.
That’s it. That’s all I can take. That’s all I can handle.
My body bucks, and I throw my head back as white stars and moons crash through my vision. I call out to the skies, and Hinda starts gurgle howling along with me. And just when I think things can’t possibly get any more intense, Exer jerks and something cold and creamy spills into my pussy.
“Shit!”
It’s cold, and I reach forward, seizing my alien with two arms so I can use him to hold me steady as our orgasms collide and the aftershocks pound through us. I can barely explain what his cum feels like. Cold like a slushy, but without any of the unpleasant ice lumps. I whimper and cling harder as his explosion seems never-ending. Another jerk brings another cool shot of seed. Another shake. More seed. Over and over. It’s icy cool, but feels so good.
I love it. Crap. I love him.
He jerks hard and finally his body slumps. Hinda stops howling, and I loosen my grip around Exer’s neck. He’s panting hard, but there isn’t a trace of sweat on his brow when I pull away. His seed drips down my thighs, but he only cups my butt harder, almost as though he’s afraid of letting me go.
He needn’t worry.
I’m not g
oing anywhere.

For two more days and nights, Exer and I make love and explore the forests, or talas, as he calls them.
Hethdiss is a mysterious planet for sure. Like Earth, wild and plant life grow in certain places and not others. I’ve never heard Exer talk more than he has the past few days. For months, he would only grunt and spew random sentences, but when he’s telling me about the talas and the creatures who live here? He’s a motor mouth, and I’m loving every minute.
Well, not as much as I love the lovemaking that comes afterward, but whichever.
We walk through the trees during the day, and he talks about the various animals I should expect to see. We’re north, but not so far north that the Sidyths would consider it dangerous. The cliffside hot springs are as far as Exer feels comfortable going, and up there, he says I should expect to see more fauders, and though I shudder hearing this, Exer has a way of making me feel safe.
Despite the joy of spending so much time with Exer, there is still something I can’t quite piece together. The Sidyths don’t like the cold for the most part. They bask in the sun and the heat mists. Yet, I never hear of any of them going further south. Wouldn’t that be better? York mentioned the atmosphere on Hethdiss is similar to Earth, so wouldn’t it make sense to live in alien Florida instead of alien Maine? I stare up at Exer as he continues to speak, pointing at a pair of large looking frogs, only they’re deep purple and walking about on two legs on the tree branches.
“They are fosks,” Exer explains. “They will not hurt anyone. As you see, they only eat plants like you and me—” he stops himself short. “Well, like myself.”
“Huh.” My mind churns with unanswered questions. As much fun as I’m having, I can’t stop thinking. These lessons have been helpful, but with more answers, comes more questions.
Why go north when they could go south?
“Sloane?” Exer reaches out suddenly, and his large hand fills my vision before he curls a finger under my jaw and gently lifts my chin. “Am I boring you today?”
My eyes almost water. I should pay closer attention. This is the most I’ve ever heard Exer say to anyone, and I'm not polite enough to listen. I lean closer to him, wrapping an arm around his waist and stare up at the strange frog creatures. Fosks.
“Yes, they’re weird,” I note, but Exer doesn’t seem satisfied. A frown appears on his face, and I’m shocked because I’m not as used to that expression anymore. He smiles now. He’s more at ease. With me, the woods, and Hinda, Exer isn’t the same man I got to know at the lairs. This Exer is calm. Relaxed. Talkative.
But not now.
“If there is something you wish to ask me, I wish to know.”
I bite down on my lower lip. I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I do understand when something isn’t right. Something isn’t adding up. If I don’t ask Exer, I’m always going to wonder. He can put my mind at ease. He always has.
“What about the south?”
He stiffens. “The south? What about it?”
His voice has such a sharpness that I instinctively want to wince back, but I stand my ground. I’m not scared of Exer, but I don’t like the look on his face. His eyes darken and cloud over.
Yes. There is something going on there.
“I think it’s strange. You guys don’t like the cold, but you never talk about going further south. York, Ellis, and Layla mentioned they went north. It got colder. It doesn’t make sense. I’m only curious; what’s in the south?”
His frown deepens, and briefly, I consider taking my question back. There’s no reason to create drama where there isn’t any. But I can’t take it back. I don’t want to. Not after seeing that secretive look in Exer’s golden eyes.
“What’s in the south?”
He hisses. It’s a low sound and incredibly intimidating. “There is nothing there.”
“Nothing?” I’m trying not to appear as skeptical as I feel. “So, there’s no wildlife? No plants? No… others?”
His eyes widen. “Others?”
“Yes. Other Sidyths?”
“There are no other Sidyths.” His tone is soft, yet no less final.
“So why don’t any of you go there?” Suspicion rises like a spider crawling up my arm at a picnic. Exer expects me to back down. Well, he’s in for a rude awakening because I have no such plans. And now that he’s acting so defensive and grumpy, there’s only one conclusion left to reach.
There are others. More Sidyths. That’s why he doesn’t want me to know about it.
“How many?” I ask.
“How many what?”
“How many other Sidyths are down south?”
“I told you before, Sloane. There are no other Sidyths.”
“You’re lying.”
His muscular shoulders bunch together as he glares at me. “I am not lying. There is nothing in the south. There is no reason to go there.”
“Who said I’m planning on going there?”
“No one, I hope.”
He turns away from the trees, not saying a word but expecting me to follow him. I hate that I don’t have a choice. Exer says the fauders are still creeping around and waiting to find a weakness in my and Exer’s schedule. I jog up to his side when I hear faint rustling amongst the trees.
“Please don’t lie to me, Exer.”
“I am not lying.” His voice hits a low hiss. “Do not ask me to speak of this.”
“So there is something!” I squeak. “What? What is it?”
“It is nothing. I will not speak of it. You will not ask me of it.”
“You can’t tell me what to do.”
“I can and will about this.”
“Exer—”
“No more. Come. We should gather our things and head back to the lairs.”
He falls silent, and I’m surprised by how much it hurts now. I’ve become so used to his voice that I miss it when it stops. But he doesn’t stop walking, only storming ahead back toward our little camp. I’m almost pleased when Hinda hangs back a few feet, as though to keep an eye on me, but I’m so enraged that I still feel like a firework about to burst.
How dare he tell me the subject is closed? Like he’s my dang father.
So what? I’m allowed to share my body with him, but he feels no duty to share what’s wrong with the south of Hethdiss?
He can tell me about his past, but he wants to keep his secrets about the present under lock and key.
I snarl under my breath, crossing my arms as Exer packs up our belongings. Hinda leaves my side and bounds over to him, but he only pushes her aside. She grumbles and belch barks, but Exer remains focused. We’re going back to the lairs.
Then what happens? Do we return to how things used to be? Am I his mate? Do I move into his lair like Layla did? Do I want to? Will I be able to face him knowing he’s keeping secrets about Hethdiss?
Sighing, I come to the startling conclusion that going back to the lairs isn’t such a bad idea. For the past few days, I’ve waded around a pool of lust and lovemaking, and I haven’t been able to clear my head. If I talk to Layla, maybe she’ll help me out. Heck, maybe Blythe or Celeste know something, too. If we all work together, maybe we can figure out what the Sidyths are hiding. It has to be other Sidyths. Otherwise, what else matters?
I trudge behind Exer in silence for the walk back to the lairs. Hinda lumbers off to the side when the scene starts to look familiar, so I assume she’s going back to her territory. Occasionally Exer glances over his shoulder as though to check that I’m still there, and though his lips part and close occasionally, he remains silent for the rest of the trip, too. I don’t give him the satisfaction of speaking first, not even when Celeste asks how things are when we return.
She’s expecting that Exer and I are a couple now, but I’m not sure.
I care about him. I love the Exer I’ve been with the past few days. I love his past.
I don’t like how he’s still keeping secrets. If he’s keeping s
ecrets, then the others are probably keeping the same ones.
I spin on my heel once the path parts, knowing the Gathering Room is in one direction and Exer’s private lair is in the other. I expect him to call out for me, but of course, the halls are silent. I throw my pack onto the floor and take a heavy seat on the flattest possible rock and pull my knees up to my chest.
How did I get here? How did we go from making beautiful love to secrets and drama all over again?
“You’re back.”
I huff, recognizing the voice speaking to me almost immediately. And though I’m usually in a good mood, and able to handle the owner of the grumpy voice, I’m not in the mood to be polite.
“Lacey, not today, all right? Whatever crap you’re going to talk on the guys here, I’m not in the mood, okay?”
She whistles. “They’re worse than I thought, huh?”
“No.”
Ugh. That’s the last thing I want. For Lacey of all people to think the Sidyths are worse than she imagined. She already hates them. Why, I don’t know. I grimace when she gets up, glides toward me, and takes a seat on the rock beside me. “Seriously? I know what you’re going to say, and I’m not feeding into it.”
“I wasn’t going to say anything.”
I blow a raspberry through my teeth, rolling my eyes. “Yeah, right. Even if something did happen, you’d be the last person I’d talk to about it. I’m not giving you any ammo to hit them with.”
She falls silent, and hope blossoms. Maybe she’s going to leave me alone. Good.
Then she rests a pale hand on mine and my head shoots up. The look in Lacey’s face isn’t grumpy. She’s concerned.
“Did he hurt you?”
I gasp. Hurt me? Her question sounds innocent, but it’s heavier and more loaded than I think Lacey realizes. Physically? No. Exer hasn’t hurt me. Mentally? Emotionally? He’s exhausted me. I don’t know what to think right now. I love him. I want to be with him, but I don’t want there to be big dark secrets between us. It’s difficult enough carrying the title of Space Entertainer on a planet full of horny alien males. If something’s going on, something dangerous, or not even, I think I have a right to know. I think all the girls have a right to know.
