by J Peach

She made a nigga be in his feelings when around her ass and I hated that shit. But it was something I couldn’t help so I didn’t try to fight it. Peaches had a nigga sprung.

“You love me, stop playin’. Now get yo ass off me, you don’t want me, remember?” I said, pushing her ass away from me. Laughing, she hit me before wrapping her arms my waist. “Gon’, get yo ass up off me.” Her hands slid in my back pockets and she squeezed my ass. “Make me fuck you up.”

“Give me kiss.” Her lips puckered up and I shook my head.

“Hell n’all, move. Get yo damn hands off my ass.”

Laughing, Peaches squeezed harder. “Oh, so you ain’t gon’ kiss me? Make me slap yo ass, Blaze. Now gimme a kiss. Don’t make me take that shit.”

Laughing at her dumbass, I lowered my head and kissed her. “Peaches, get yo hands off my ass,” I mumble against her lips. She took her hands out of my pockets.

“Can y’all stop now? Damn, she looks like she tryna eat your face off,” Ace said as he stepped between us, pushing Peaches away from me. “Big homie, can you breathe now?” Peaches mugged him and Ace jumped at her. “Yo, I’ll slap you.”

Peaches’ mouth opened slightly and I laughed. “N’all, little homie. I’ll have to kick yo ass if you slap her. That’s my job only.”

Shrugging, he looked at Peaches and jumped at her again.

“I’ma take off my belt and tear yo little butt up, keep on,” Peaches threatened, making me laugh.

“Man, leave him alone. Why you wanna pick at that kid?” Walking out of the mall, Peaches stopped to look at me.

“He said he was gon’ slap me, so how am I picking on him?” She asked.

“Who’s the adult and who’s the kid?” I asked her. “Come on now.”

“Fuck you, Blaze.” She stuck up her middle finger.

“Gladly. But you gotda let Ace sit in your car until we finish.” I nodded towards the truck.

Laughing, she shook her head as we walked to her car that was parked a couple of rows in front of my truck.

“You stupid, oh and you wrong for calling that man a bitch,” she said, laughing out loud.

I shrugged. “I call it like I see ‘em and dude is a bitch. Ain’t no way I’ma sit there and let a nigga disrespect you while I’m right there, fuck outda here. But what type of bitch fucks with her friends ex? That’s some nasty shit. I knew yo friends was shystie as fuck.” Peaches hit me in the chest once I finished talking.

“What I tell you about talkin’ ‘bout my bitches? Besides, Cornell and I never had nothing. He was just a friend, per se, that became too attached. So cool it on that shystie shit because my friends aren’t like that at all. You should really give them a chance, believe it or not they all kinda like you.

“They were pissed when they found out I snuck out that one night or morning. Angel, the black one, chewed my ass out because of it. So stop picking at them, they aren’t bad, Blaze. And learn their damn names, they’re not hard. Kimmy, Missy, Angel and Ebony.”

  Only Peaches’ ass.

“I’ight, man, whatever you say. I still wanna slap the fuck outda the black one. The big lip one i’ight as along as she don’t try shit with you and the chubby one, she cool. Shid, she ain’t never did shit to me, but that big mouth trick, I’ma have to beat her ass then King’s ass for beating his bitch ass.”

“Shut up, Blaze, I’m being serious,” she laughed, hitting me.

“Shid, me too. Why the fuck you think I’m playin’? I’m serious as hell man. N’all, but if they don’t fuck with me we cool, simple as that,” I told her while pinning her against the car. “Wanna go to the truck and talk?” Licking my lips, my hands grabbed her ass and I picked her up.

Peaches let out a girlish laugh as her bags dropped. “No, because ain’t no talkin gon’ happen. Now put me down and take yo horny ass to yo truck and follow me to the shop. Stop squeezing my ass, Ace is watching.”

Damn, I forgot all about little dude.

“You on that bullshit, Peaches. Why the fuck you wanna do me like that?” I asked, biting at the skin on her neck.

“Why the hell you leave me at school for damn near two hours? And you played me last night. You could’ve did you know what for me last night,” she countered.

I wasn’t gon’ win this shit, damn. “Whatever, man. Yo ass bet not drive slow.” I started to just drop her on the ground, but a nigga was tryna fuck and doing that wasn’t gon’ help me. Putting her down, Ace and I started walking towards the truck.

“Oh, so you just gon’ walk away? Daddy, I don’t get a see you later kiss?” She yelled out to me.

Now her ass was playin’. “Fuck you, Peaches.”

Sticking up my middle finger, I ain’t even turn around as I heard her goofy ass laugh. As I was walking to my truck, I saw her friend and ol boy walking out the mall with the rest of her little clique. Peaches’ cute, chubby little friend flagged me down. Looking back at Peaches and seeing her watching, I stuck up my middle finger and again she laughed before she got in her car.

“Blaze,” Ol’ girl called, jogging over to me. She was a cute, short little thang.

“What’s up?” I asked her, leaning against the truck. Looking to my right, she shook her head.

“Can’t you get rid of mini you, he creeps me out?” She asked, looking at Ace.

“Ace, get in the truck,” I said.

“Why? I want—” He started saying, but I cut him off.

“Because I said so, now get yo little ass in the truck.” Smacking his lips, he mumbled something as he climbed in the backseat and slammed the door. “Make me beat yo ass, slam my damn door again.” That little dude was crazy. He wasn’t even mine and I was dealing with his shit. I was gonna kick his little ass. “What’s up, mama?” I asked ol’ girl.

“You still don’t know my name, do you?” She asked.

Rubbing the back of my head, I laughed. If I didn’t find them important, they names didn’t matter. “Hell n’all, but what’s up?”

“It’s Kim. You didn’t tell Peaches about me and Bell did you?” She asked, looking slightly concerned.

My brows went up at that, confused as to what she was talking about. “Oh, shid. I forgot all about that. Why the fuck would I tell her fah, tho? Who you fuckin’ is yo business, sweetheart, not mine. You don’t gotda worry about me tellin’ her shit,” I told her while licking my lips and she smiled.

“That’s good to know, I guess I’ll let you go,” she said, still smiling and showing two small dimples on both cheeks.

  She’s cute as hell.

  “I’ight, Kim. I’ll see you.”

Waving, she walked off and my eyes went to her ass, watching as her hips swayed from left to right. Licking my lips, I shook my head.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

Once I came to my senses, I hopped in the truck, started it and pulled out of the lot, catching up with Peaches, who was waiting by the stop sign at the entrance.

  Chapter 21

  Blaze

Ace had just finished getting his hair in an s-curl and dude was now lining up his sides. Peaches was sitting a few chairs down, getting her hair curled. I reached in my front pocket and went to her. After counting off a few stacks, I handed it to her.

“I gotda go, so I’ll see you later. Bring yo ass to mine and even if I ain’t there wait fah me,” I told her while handing her the money.

“Thanks and I’ll come to yours, but I’m not gon’ be waiting outside until you get there. So if you’re not at home, I’m leaving.” She put the money in her purse without counting it.

“Here, don’t let yo damn friends roam around in my shit and keep the big lip one out my fridge.” I gave her a set of keys to my place.

Peaches looked at the metal piece in her hand then back at me. “You’re giving me a key to your spot?” She asked, seeming surprised by it which I didn’t understand. Peaches always made the smallest thing into something big.

  “Yeah, and don’t
have them in my shit, I ain’t playin’, man. I’ll see you later,” I said while feeling my pockets for my keys. Finding them there, I pulled them out. “I’ight, we out. Let’s go, Ace.” He hopped out of the chair and went to the door as I leaned down to Peaches. “Don’t yo ass leave that apartment until I get there.”

“We’re leaving at ten, so you better be there by then,” she mumbled against my lips, pecking them twice. “Love you.”

Nodding my head, I pulled back, about to walk away. “I’ma slap the fuck outda you, Peaches. I done told you if we ain’t fuckin’ don’t touch my ass.”

“Bye,” she laughed as did her friends while waving me off.

“Bye, Kimmy, call me,” Ace called out. Laughing, I pushed his little ass out the door.

“Get yo little ass in the truck, you wouldn’t know what to do with that woman,” I told Ace as we got in the truck and he smacked his lips.

“Uh-uh, rub her booty then buy her something.” That little dude was crazy as fuck. Pulling out the parking lot, I headed back to Delaney.

“You gotda have money to buy her something. You got some money?” I looked at him as I came to a stop light.

“The money you gave,” he said, feeling his pockets.

“Dude, you need more than that.” Glancing at him, I pulled off.

“Then you can just give me some more money.” Shaking my head, I didn’t even say shit back to him as I drove to Delaney.

It was funny in a way because I was a few years older than him when I started out as a street boy. I learned the ins and outs of a corner boy watching older mothafuckas out there slang as I talked to them or rode with then in their cars. My young ass was talking big shit like I knew what the life was really about back then when a nigga ain’t know shit. It wasn’t long before I learned what it meant to be a little hustler and was packing a 44mag, rolling with niggas ten years older than me.

Growing up in Delaney was hard, but once you made a name fah yoself and showed mothafuckas you weren’t playin’, shit got easy. I was young when my name got made and niggas knew I wasn’t to be fuck’d with. Shid, I had my moms and Britt to look after so bodying niggas wasn’t nothing to me.

It was always kill or be killed, so I never thought twice about dropping a nigga. You had to be tough living out there and it was easy to get sucked into the life, but hard as fuck to get out.

“What’s yo address?” I asked Ace as I pulled into Delaney.

“You can just drop me off here,” Ace said as I slowly drove past the park.

“Ace, what’s yo damn address?” I repeated, a bit harsher this time.

Ace let out a breath before telling me his address. I drove down until he told me to stop in front of a house where two of the front windows were boarded. It was crazy, I used to stay right across the street from where he lived, but the house was now abandoned.

“Blaze,” Ace called from outside the truck.

“Hm? What’s up?” I answered, coming from my thoughts.

“My momma not home yet, but you don’t have to stay with me. Thanks for the shoes and outfit.” The kid looked sad as he closed my door and opened the back. I didn’t know what the fuck was up with his damn moms leaving his ass by himself, especially out there of all places.

“Get in.” Delaney wasn’t a place for kids to be left alone, niggas was stupid out there, shid, just look at his moms. If I saw that bitch, I was beating her ass. I hated triflin’ ass parents. Pulling out my phone, I called my moms.

“Hey, Boon. What’s up?” She answered.

“I need a favor.” My moms let out a sigh, making me laugh. “Damn, why you gotda do all that??

  “What is it, Booney?”

“I’ll be pulling up in about twenty minutes, Britt there?” I asked, pulling out of my old neighborhood and getting back on the main road.

“Yeah, she and Marcus just got back. Blaze, what do you want?” She asked again.

“I’ll tell you when I get there.” Hanging up the phone, I drove to my moms crib.

  ***

I parked in the driveway of my moms place, turned off the truck and we got out.

  “Ace, come on.”

“This yo mommas house? It’s big,” he said, looking up at the two story brick house.

“Yep. Don’t steal shit, as a matter of fact keep yo hands in yo pockets,” I told him and he glared at me while mumbling something to himself. “Ma!” I yelled as I walked through the front door. “Ma!”

“Boon, what the hell I tell you about that yelling—” Rounding the corner, she stopped mid-sentence as her eyes landed on Ace. “Who is this?” She looked from me to him and back. I could already see where her mind was going.

Shaking my head, I walked past her. “Britt!” I yelled and my mom hit me.

“What I just say about yelling? Blaze, who is this?” She followed me into the kitchen.

“Ace, my moms, Bianca. Ma, this Ace. He ain’t mine, damn, so stop looking at us like that. Yo ass ain’t gon’ find no resemblances.” I grabbed the orange juice from the fridge, but before I could drink it my moms hand was slapping me in the back of the head. “Come on, now. Gon’,” I told her and she snatched the orange juice from me.

“Who you think you’re talking to? And don’t come in here drinking from my carton, if you want orange juice, you gon’ pay me for it. Because once it’s gone you’re not going to take yo ass to the store to replace the shit. Orange juice from now on is two-fifty.” She held her hands out. Her saying that fuck’d me up.

“I’ma beat the fuck outda Peaches dumbass— Stop hitting me.” My mom hit me again before putting the juice in the fridge. “Mom, for real you need to stay away from Peaches if I’m not with y’all. I’m telling you she crazy as hell.”

“Shut up, she is not crazy. I like her a lot,” she said, smiling. I did not like that shit. “Did you just roll yo eyes?” Moms asked, looking at me like I was crazy. Shid, I was kinda embarrassed because I thought I just did.

“Hell n’all, I didn’t roll my damn eyes— Bianca, stop hitting me.” She jumped at me and when I didn’t flinch she stole on my ass hard as hell in the chest.

“Don’t think for a second because you’re grown I won‘t beat yo ass. And watch yo damn mouth. Now who kid is this and why do you have him?” One day I was gon’ knock the shit outda her ass. “You hungry?”

Nodding my head at her, I sat on a stool at the counter. “Yeah, I am. Brittany!” I yelled and my moms head snapped towards me, a glare covering her face. “What’s up, Ma? Marcus done pissed you off or something?” I asked as Britt came walking in the room. “Yo ass heard me calling you—” She held up her finger as she talked on the phone, walking past me. I kicked her in the butt, making her stumbled forward.

“Stop, Boon, damn. Yo ugly ass always playin’. Why you even here—” Britt hurried up and ran over by our mom as I got up. “I was only playing, Booney. Amber, let me call you back, my brother here. He got a girl and you too young. Yeah, the girl in video his girl. I know right, he crazy as hell but she don’t care. She’ll beat yo ass, girl can bang. Go to Tish page and see her fight, shit was crazy. But I gotda go, I’ll call you later, hoe.” Britt hung up the phone and sat next to me. Once she did, I slapped her ass in the mouth. “What the—”

“Watch yo damn mouth, yo ass ain’t grown, sitting here cussin’. That shit ain’t cute,” I snapped at her. My mom stopped what she was doing to look at me, but didn’t say nothing. She just shook her head before she started back cooking.

“I didn’t even cuss,” she smacked her lips. I was probably looking at her ass like my mom looked at me. “Whatever. What you want?”

“Take Ace outside to play.” She looked from me to Ace then back. “Make me slap yo ass, take him outside, damn.” Letting out a huff, she got out up.

“Come on, little boy,” she snapped at him.

“Didn’t he just tell yo dumbass my name Ace, not little boy. Bitch, get slapped.” Britt’s mouth fell open as did my moms. I slap
ped Ace hard on the back of his head and he whined as he rubbed his head. “Ouch, damn, Blaze. That hurt— Okay, dang. I’ll watch my mouth. Girl, come on, dang.” Grabbing Britt’s wrist, he started pulling her towards the hallway. “Show me yo room.”

“Hell n’all, get y’all ass in the backyard. Ace, make me fuck you up.” Ace laughed as he stopped walking.

“Damn, big homie, you messing me up. I could’ve had her. Come on, little girl. Take me outside, you can ride me on yo bike,” he told Britt.

“Gon’, Britt, take him outside.” I knew his little ass was up to something. Shid, but you couldn’t blame little dude. Living out in Delaney, you was either slanging, doing drugs, robbing mothafuckas, killing, or fuckin’. That was Delaney.

“You sure he ain’t yours? He reminds me so much of you at that age,” my moms asked, staring at Ace.

Shrugging, I leaned against the counter. “N’all, he ain’t mine. But whenever I go out to Delaney, little dude always spot me and talk to me. He’s cool.”

Glancing at me, she put the spatula down and turned my way fully.

  Chapter 22

  Blaze

  “What’s up, Boon?” She asked.

“I gave Peaches a key to my place today,” I told her.

“Okay, I don’t see nothing wrong with that. I mean, you like her a lot and you want to be with her. You’re taking your relationship to the next level, which I’m cool with. I want grandbabies,” she straightforwardly admitted.

I loved talking to my moms because she was the truth, never sugarcoated shit. She told it how it was whether you liked it or not. That’s why whenever I had a problem with chicks, I went to her straight up. And I’d been having a lot of chick problems as of late.
