I chuckled. “What? Right now?” I joked.

She laughed. “But seriously, anything that makes you happy, I want you to go and get it. My love will give you your soul, your freedom.”

I felt my eyes start to water. Suddenly, I took her into my arms and hugged her tight. “I love you!” I shouted, almost like I wanted to tell the world. Gently, I kissed her lips, overjoyed that I had such a loving and supportive wife. As the moon shone over the Paris landscape, I kissed her forehead, thinking that I was the luckiest man in the world.

  Chapter 23

  Camden

  The next morning.

  Ring! Ring!

I groaned, attempting to hide my face in my pillow.

  Ring! Ring!

But, the noise wouldn’t stop. Whoever was trying to reach me really wanted to talk about something. Still, I ignored it, pulling the pillow over my ears.

“I thought you shut off your phone,” Valerie grumbled.

“I did. Sometimes, it turns on by itself. Has a mind of its own.”

“Well, can you answer it or something? If I hear your ringtone one more time, I’m going to lose my mind.”

“Alright, alright.” I picked up the phone and answered it. I was still half asleep, so I didn’t think to check the caller ID. “Hello?”

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Instantly, my agent started yelling at me.

I held the phone away from my ear, afraid that he would burst an eardrum.

“Calm down,” I said while playing with Valerie’s hair. By her side, nothing was capable of upsetting me, not even my livid agent.

“Calm down? Are you really telling me to calm down right now? I told you to break up with that bitch.”

“Bitch?” Oh, now he had struck a chord. But still, I kept my voice calm. This man didn’t deserve my anger. “She’s my wife now and I’d appreciate it if you treat her with respect. This is my one and only warning. Disrespect her again and you’ll be sorry for it.” My voice was level but firm.

  Silence.

I could almost see the dumbstruck look on his face.

“Cam, you don’t understand what you’re doing.”

“Oh, I know exactly what I’m doing. I’m following my dreams and if that’s a crime, well, lock me up, officer.”

  “This isn’t funny.”

“Who said I was trying to be funny?” I twirled a strand of Valerie’s hair on my finger. “I’m just letting you know that I’m not going to follow your silly little script anymore.”

“Then, we’ll have to terminate you.”

“That’s fine. Do what you want. I don’t need you.”

“You’ll become a washout without us.”

I scoffed. “Ha, that’s funny. I could never become a washout now that I have the girl of my dreams by my side. She’s my lucky charm. The motivation I need to win. And, if you don’t believe me, be sure to watch my next game.”

“You’re going to regret this.” His voice faltered. He was getting nervous.

“Frankly, I don’t give a damn. There are going to be more offers coming my way. There are always offers out there for championship quarterbacks.” And with that, I hung up the phone.

“You sounded confident,” Valerie said, running her fingertips along my chest.

“Oh, I’m taking us all the way to the Super Bowl, baby.”

  One month later.

“Let’s cut to the chase,” Jim started. “Camden Birch made good on his promise. He won the Super Bowl for his team.”

“And what a game it was,” I added. “Scores were tight for the first three quarters but then something came over the quarterback. 100 percent pass completion, completely decimating the other team in the last quarter. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

“And that stunt at the very end? Five-yard line. He just launched himself over that defensive line. Truly spectacular.” He motioned to the screen. “I didn’t think anyone was expecting him to do that.”

“No, you should have seen the look on their faces. They didn’t know what to do.”

The screen showed Camden’s impressive play where he jumped over multiple players and landed in the end zone, ball safely tucked against his chest.

“I still can’t believe it.” Jim shook his head.

“I think this is just the beginning for Camden Birch. This was his first Super Bowl ring but I’m sure there are many more to come.”

“Speaking of rings…” Jim looked over at me. “How does it feel to be Mrs. Birch?”

“Well…” I struggled to find the words. Being married to my high school sweetheart was definitely a dream come true.

“She’s speechless.” Jim chuckled. “Let’s just watch the footage.” They brought up a highlight reel. My cheeks turned red the second I saw it.

Cam was standing in the middle of the field, holding the trophy above his head. With his other hand, he blew a kiss into the camera, shouting, “I love you, Val, this is all for you!”

“Aww!” The live studio audience chimed in unison.

  “And! That’s a wrap!”

After the broadcast, I headed into my dressing room, ready to go home.

  Buzz! Buzz!

I rummaged through my purse, trying to find my phone. Instead, I came across the pregnancy test that I had taken that morning. The little pink plus sign filled me with joy—so much so that my hands started to shake. I was going to become a mommy and Cam, a daddy. We were going to start a family together!

  Buzz! Buzz!

The sound of my phone snapped me from my daydream.

Finally, I found it hiding at the bottom.

  “Hello?”

“Hey, baby. Did you get my kiss?”

“Mhm.” My cheeks felt like they were on fire. “I saw it.”

  He chuckled. “Good.”

“Sorry I couldn’t make it to the game.”

“It’s okay. I know you had to work. Tonight, though, we are going to have one hell of a celebration.”

That night, we went to the bar and ordered our high school meal. I don’t know what it was, but it tasted fucking amazing. Maybe it was the pregnancy kicking in, but it was the best food I’ve ever had. Seriously.

Eventually, after spending some time together, just enjoying our meal, we headed home.

Cam pulled some cheese cake from the fridge.

“Where did that come from?” I asked, cocking my head.

“I picked it up one of these days. I know it’s your favorite.”

I grinned. “You know what goes well with cheese cake?”

  “Tea?”

“Bingo.” I boiled a pot of water.

“I’m going to put on a movie for us.”

I nodded and a few minutes later, I walked into the living room with the tea kettle. Slowly, I poured the tea for him, using both my hands. I looked over at him. “Do you know what it means to pour tea with both hands?”

  “No, what’s that?” He asked.

“It means I’m pouring it with love and respect.” I’m silent for a moment before finally, the words spring from my lips. “A continuous flow of love and respect from my first love, to my high school sweetheart, to my college sweetheart, to the love of my life, to my husband…” When I was done pouring the tea, I smiled, kissing him gently. “My king is my husband. My husband is my king.”

  I paused.

This was it. This was when I’d tell him the big news.

“And from today… you are also the father of my child.”

  He looked at me, confused.

“The child that is inside of me right now…”

His eyes widened before a giant smile spread across his face. “No way…”

I took a deep breath and continued. “We got married, secretly, just you and me, but we got married by law, by God, and the church. But today, I found out that we got married by nature also. Me and you becoming one. Our love transforming into a baby… in
to life… it was just me and you… now it is us.”

He grabbed me, pulling me tight against his chest. I could feel the tears on his cheeks. He was shaking with happiness. That smile looked like it’s going to stay permanently on his face.

Suddenly, he kissed me with such passion that it blew me away.

“I am the happiest man in the world! You make me the happiest man in the world. Val, you’re not just gold… you’re not just a diamond! Val, you are the whole ali-baba cave! I love you! I love you! I love you!”

“I love you too!” I giggled, falling back onto the couch with my king and husband.

  Epilogue

  Camden

  Five years later.

With the Super Bowl ring on my finger, I had reached all of my goals as a pro athlete. So, I decided to throw in the towel while I was still ahead. Retirement was a strange concept, especially since I had dedicated my whole life to football, but it was about time I gave Valerie and our future child the attention they needed.

But, the media didn’t want to let me go. Reporters wanted to know all about my Super Bowl experience. All eyes were on me, my charisma, and the beautiful love story between me and my wife. So, I decided to give them one and only one interview. I scheduled the interview at my home, keeping the location a secret. I didn’t need the paparazzi showing up at my door, after all. The reporter was required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

It went rather well. To my surprise, she didn’t ask all that much about the game. Instead, she seemed inspired by my home décor skills, commenting on how peaceful and unique my style was.

Afterwards, countless people flooded my email, begging for me to help get a familiar home-apartment style.

  “Another one?” Valerie asked.

  “Mhm. Everyone loves the house.”

“Maybe you should become an interior decorator for a living.” She joked. “It would keep you occupied.”

“You know, that’s not a bad idea…” And that’s how I became the founder and CEO of Camden Creations, my very own interior design company. Within months, it boomed, becoming wildly successful throughout the East Coast. And, through the years, I curated a team of trained professionals. Occasionally, I’d check in to make sure my quality standards were being met but for the most part it was passive income for me.

After that, I took a couple of years off. Valerie and I traveled all over the world, exploring life on every level, just enjoying life, together with our son, Oliver. But, after some time traveling, Valerie missed our home, the delicious town food, and our local bar. Wanting to share great food and drinks with as many people as possible, we decided to open other bars all over the place. They were a huge success, snowballing into more and more restaurants, eventually turning into a franchise with Valerie heading the entire organization. She surprised me with her amazing business skills. To tell the truth, it was incredibly sexy to see her taking care of things.

Together, we made over $500 million a year. So, we were never hurting for cash. Our work was fueled by love. I loved interior decoration and Valerie loved the bar. Some people were labeling us a billionaire power couple.

At one point, Valerie started her own talk show, focusing on positive subjects. It was a sort of news outlet but one that focused on rescue missions, locally adopted dogs, and charity events. Ratings were high. People loved the pick-me-up in the morning. I loved seeing her beautiful face on the camera. After her big success as a reporter, this was the next level. She took her influence and channeled it to make the world a better place. I couldn’t be prouder of my wife.

  One morning.

I woke up with my beautiful wife sleeping beside me. I got up and headed into the kitchen, wanting to surprise her with some breakfast in bed. As I sprinkled some cheese onto the omelet, a smile painted my face. Even after five years, we were still crazy in love with one another.

Happily, I hummed to myself. Already, I’d finished my morning workout and I felt invigorated and full of energy. Today is going to be a good day, I could feel it.

When I finished making breakfast, I placed everything on a tray and brought it up to the bedroom.

Valerie woke up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “Mmm, breakfast in bed?”

“Mhm. Your talk show is about to come on and I want to watch it with you,” I said, laying down beside her. As she fed me a strawberry, I turned on the TV.

  “Did you grab the mail?”

“Yep,” I answered, handing it over to her.

She sorted through the paperwork, eventually placing a magazine on the bed between us. “You know, I loved your interview. It was so inspiring. I really am proud of you,” She said, kissing my cheek.

This month, I was on the cover of Forbes magazine. They labeled me the face of a successful billionaire pro athlete turned entrepreneur. Curious, I grabbed the issue, flipping to the interview, wondering what they had decided to write down as the key highlights.

Camden: Athletes and entrepreneurs have a lot in common. Personally, I’ve always had a vision of sports, not as competition, but as a way to overcome personal challenges. Sports are challenges. Being an athlete means overcoming your own challenges, whatever they might be. And, I’m happy to be proving this outside of the sports world as the CEO and founder of Camden Creations. I want to show people that they can use their magic and skills outside the field. I can tell you, I am beyond happy. My resume is now diversified. Honestly, the sky is the limit.

I noticed Valerie looking at me like she couldn’t believe that I’m her man.

Just then, my massage therapist knocked on the door.

Eager to melt the tension from my muscles, I take off my shirt and lie on the stretcher. Matthew attached a couple of electrodes to my back, targeting my problem areas. Mmm. It felt so good that I nearly fell asleep.

  (Valerie)

Damn. Camden looked hot. He was shirtless, only wearing a pair of basketball shorts. I sit there, watching his muscles contract like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I’m in awe and at the same time, extremely turned on.

The electrodes continued to fire at his muscles for a while before the therapist put them away. Next, he grabbed a bottle of warm oil, rolling out his muscles. His skin glistened with the gleam.

  Fuck. That’s hot.

I could feel my pussy starting to get wet. Hell, I think I was soaking through my panties, getting wetter and wetter by the second. It’s like there’s a burning fire between my legs. I was captivated as I watched that amazing Greek God body getting massaged.

Shit. I’m so horny it’s driving me crazy.

  This was hot as hell.

The massage seemed to drag out for an eternity. I wanted to pounce on him, to make him mine. Eagerly, I waited for him to leave before I followed Camden into the shower. There, I pushed him against the wall, our bodies pressed together, my skin hot to the touch.

Our lips collided into a passionate kiss.

His hands fell to my ass, squeezing it as he hoisted me off the ground, slamming me into the wall, taking my breath away. I gasped, throwing my head back as he took one of my breasts into his mouth, sucking on it, tongue rolling around my nipple, driving me crazy.

The water washed over my body, adding to the experience.

His cock twitched against my thigh. I took it into my hand, squeezing it before stroking it up and down.

He groaned in pleasure, spanking my ass. “Such a naughty girl…”

“You were so sexy on that massage table. I just couldn’t help myself.” I admitted, guiding his cock to my pussy.

  “You want it, don’t you?”

“So bad…” I whispered, kissing his neck.

Suddenly, he plunged inside of me, stretching my every inch.

I screamed, exposing my neck. He decorated it with kisses, our hips grinding together as pleasure rolled underneath our skin. I ran my fingernails down his back, my heart beating fast.

Even after five years, the sex was fucking amazing.

  He po
unded into me, harder and harder, balls slapping against me. His hands roamed all over my body, sending goosebumps rippling through my skin.

“Fuck!” I screamed, body shaking, thighs quivering, pussy tightening.

He growled, pinning me against the wall as he fucked me like an animal.

My head spun. This was so fucking good.

He bit my neck, leaving behind a love mark.

“Cam…” I moaned, seconds away from orgasm.

“Cum for me…” He whispered, nipping at my ear.

I couldn’t control myself. I fell over the edge, body shaking with the pleasure of it. Gasping, I struggled to come down from my orgasmic high, blinded by it.

Before I could calm down, Cam carried me into the bedroom. We were still soaking wet when he threw me onto the mattress. A second later, he pounced on top of me, kissing me long and hard.

My chest heaved, lungs burning for air.

He pulled away, looking into my eyes, causing my heart to rocket inside my chest. “I love you…” He whispered, kissing my breast. “So, so much.”

I smiled, kissing his cheek. “I love you too, Cam.”

He rolled us over, so I was now lying on top of him. “What do you think about going for a little ride?” He asked, a devious look on his face.

I grinned, positioning myself above him, gently gliding his cock into my pussy. Slowly, I bounced up and down, taking my time, pussy still sensitive from my recent orgasm.

A look of pleasure washed over his face as he rested his arms behind his head, enjoying the show as my tits bounced with my movements.

I quickened my pace, going faster and faster, feeling the friction getting hotter and hotter. I lost myself in the throes of passion, head thrown back, legs pumping me up and down his long, thick shaft. God, I loved it.

All too soon, I felt a tightness in my stomach. There it was. The climax. I bit my lip, trying to hold it back but the pleasure was too intense to stop.
