No Mercy

“Saw five bikes riding away, but it was too dark to see if they were wearing any colors.”

  “They weren’t,” Audra said.

  “Fuck.”

“How did you get here so fast?” I asked no one in particular.

“They were already on their way here,” Audra said with a knowing smirk. “Remember what I said about them showing up here to mark their territory?”

Hawk grumbled and gently took his wife’s arm. “Let’s talk at the table where we’ll have more privacy.”

I began to follow, but Rock stopped me. Our gazes clashed. “Did he touch you?”

I opened my mouth, thinking about the man’s hands on my hips, but then closed it again. It was so minor it didn’t really warrant mentioning. “Not really. We weren’t dancing together, Rock. I thought I was alone until I turned around and he was just there.”

His gaze ran down the length of me before returning to my eyes. I could tell that he liked what he saw, yet his next words contradicted the lust in his eyes. “You come out looking like that and think you’re going to be left alone?”

My jaw dropped, and I glanced down at what I was wearing. I didn’t get a chance to dress up much so I’d gone all out in a tiny, black, figure-hugging dress, the kind that never goes out of style, and fire-engine red stilettos. The front was cut low and showed off the generous swell of my breasts, but it wasn’t indecent. The length was short, falling a couple of inches just below my butt.

I frowned. “There’s nothing wrong with my dress. Look around you, Rock. There are plenty of women here showing a lot more skin than I am.”

His gaze didn’t leave mine. “None of them are my woman,” he growled, pulling me behind him to the table where everyone else had already sat down.

His woman? Under the circumstances I thought it best not to resist him, even though he was treating me like a wayward child. I sensed that something more was going on than just the issue with what I was wearing. So I pressed my lips and let him drag me back to the table.

My gaze traveled over the group crammed into our booth. It was easy to tell who was with whom. With the addition of the men, there was little room left for me and Rock. He sank down onto the edge of the seat and pulled me down onto his lap. I felt heat crawl up my neck as his move was met with knowing smirks from his observant brothers.

“Talk,” Hawk ordered firmly, his expression serious now.

  “Hawk−”

At the sound of his wife’s soft voice he switched his gaze to Audra. “Babe, this is serious.” He hesitated, pressing his lips together, as if he were considering saying more. We all knew that he would never discuss club business, so it surprised us all when he finally added, “Couple brothers ran into trouble last night.” That’s all he said. Just enough to get his meaning across to Audra that this was about the club.

“Ran into trouble? More like trouble ran over them.”

Hawk gave Jumper a sharp look that revealed he didn’t appreciate his remark. I wondered what Hawk wasn’t telling us. As I took in each man’s expression it was obvious that something worse had happened. They couldn’t disguise the deep sorrow in their eyes, or the tightness around their mouths.

“But we all saw them,” Audra admitted, seeming to want to keep the heat off of me. I was thankful for that. Her husband was scary. They were sitting right over there.” She indicated the table that was now filled with other people. “Watching us.”

I could tell that Hawk didn’t like the thought of us being watched. Rock’s body became rigid against me, revealing that he didn’t like it either. His arm snaked around my waist and he pulled me further against him, making me feel warm and protected, along with a bunch of other things that were inappropriate in the moment. The heat against my bottom was arousing.

“Who interacted with them?” he asked gently. It was amazing how different Hawk was with Audra. How his voice and expression softened considerably when he was addressing her. I wondered if that was because she was pregnant or if her presence in general had that effect on him. It was amazing to watch.

“Allie.” He nodded, gave her a brief smile before swinging his attention to me. “Did he talk to you?”

I could tell he was purposely keeping his tone even and controlled. “A little. We ah, didn’t interact for very long,” I said, using his word.

“Tell us what he said, babe,” Rock murmured behind me, the warmth of his tone sending a shiver down my spine.

I took a minute to think about it. “He asked me who I belonged to, and he seemed to know that we were with the club.”

Hawk scowled, his eyebrows almost coming together. “He say ‘Phantom Riders?’”

I nodded, getting an even bigger frown from him, and now his brothers were frowning, too. “Tell us exactly what he said.”

I sucked in a deep breath to calm my nerves, because I instinctively knew that Rock was going to be furious once he heard my answer. Should I keep out the part when the man had said he’d hoped that my man could protect me? It had sounded like a threat to me at the time, and the way he’d looked me over had left me feeling slightly violated.

  “Babe?” Rock coaxed behind me.

“He mentioned the Blue Knights and said Phantom Riders were next on their list. And that you’d better watch your backs.”

“Sonofabitch!” Jumper snarled in a tone that didn’t carry far from the table.

“Would any of you gentlemen like a drink?” No one had noticed the waitress stepping up to the table until she was there. All eyes flew to her, and it was clear to see that her interest was solely on the men. She ignored the women and zeroed right in on every male there, signaling them out with a flirtatious promise in her smoky eyes.

“Five beers!” Hawk snapped, not even giving her a second glance. If anything, he was pissed by her interruption. His gaze was still pinned on me, and I knew that he wanted to question me further. Audra and I exchanged amused looks. The waitress took the hint and scurried away for the beers. “Anything else?” he asked roughly.

“He, ah, said he hoped my man could protect me.” Rock’s physical reaction told me how he felt about that comment. The hard muscles against my body became harder, like stone, and the arm around my waist flexed.

“That’s a fucking threat,” he snarled behind me. His brothers all agreed by nodding their heads. Audra turned pale, and the other ladies didn’t look much better. They obviously agreed with his assessment.

“What did he look like?” This came from Snake.

“He didn’t look like a biker, except he was wearing biker boots. He had a scar over his eye that cut a clean path right through his eyebrow. He was about six feet tall, messy, dirty blonde hair, and brown eyes.”

“For someone you weren’t dancing with you took a damned good look.”

I smiled inwardly at the jealousy I detected in Rock’s low grumble. “Once he said ‘Phantom Riders’ I sensed it might be important to get a good description of him.”

  “Smart girl,” Snake said, grinning.

“See any tats, any piercings?” Hawk asked me.

I shook my head. “Nothing visible,” I replied.

“None of them looked like bikers,” Carol spoke up. “They were all dressed in jeans and shirts, casual.”

“No cuts either,” Audra reminded them. “And they were all around the same age, like late twenties, early thirties.”

“And handsome.” Carol received a snort from one of the men for that.

“Any names mentioned?” Rock wanted to know.

  We all shook our heads.

The waitress returned to the table with a tray, putting on a good show by bending low as she placed a beer in front of each man. Her breasts were practically spilling out of her low-cut blouse, which I was pretty certain had a few more buttons undone since the last time she’d come around. I rolled my eyes, catching the grins on Michelle and Trish’s faces. Then I thought about my own dress and realized that my girls were practically on display, too.
>
As we waited for the waitress to leave, conversation stopped. She moved like a snail and I thought to myself, could she be any more obvious? And what nerve! Each man was obviously there with a woman, and she was openly flirting and flashing her goods at them. It was Robin who put the server in her place.

“Hey, honey, nice tits. You’re just my type. Meet me after closing?” A suggestive wink followed up Robin’s outrageous comment.

The waitress, who didn’t look more than twenty, turned all different shades of red and quickly stood up. She opened her mouth but nothing came out. Snickers sounded at our table as she backed up, bumped into a group of dancers, and then turned to flee.

“You’re so bad!” Michelle scolded with a laugh.

“Okay, enough of this bullshit,” Hawk growled.

“Are you going to pee on us now?” Audra teased, shooting me a quick glance.

Hawk stared at her for a second, before pulling her against him. “Will this do, babe?” They kissed like they were new lovers, and not a married couple with baby number three on the way. After Hawk had thoroughly subdued his wife with his mouth, he pulled back and stared at her dreamy state with satisfaction.

Audra only sighed, and I guessed that his possessive kiss would do, as he’d put it. I felt movement beneath my bottom, and I realized that Rock had a hard-on. Even though no one else knew it was there, I did, and I felt scorching heat settle into my cheeks and ears. I was sure that one look at me, and everyone would know what I was sitting on. Suddenly, his hand was gliding up to my throat to the side of my jaw. With little pressure he turned my head enough so he could lean forward and claim my mouth.

I opened my mouth eagerly to him, letting him rub his lips over mine and mesh our tongues until I began to squirm on his lap. His groan was so low that I was sure I was the only one to hear it. My heart began racing, and I felt my nipples tighten. His other hand came up to cup my breast, flicking over the nipple with his thumb.

It didn’t even occur to me to protest.

Someone in the background said, “Well, fuck, didn’t know this was a pissing contest. Come here, baby.”

Rock ended his kiss with a gentle pull of my bottom lip. His cock throbbed steadily against my butt. “Don’t worry about that fucker, Allie. I’ll keep you safe.” I wasn’t sure where that had come from, but it made me feel protected. I faced our group again, sure my face gave away my arousal. I felt his breath against the back of my neck where he buried his face.

“Ladies, sorry to cut your evening short, your men will get you home.” Hawk took a long drink of his beer. None of us seemed inclined to protest about ending our girls’ night out at a fairly early time, but the disappointment was palpable. “After you get your women settled I want to see you brothers back at the club for emergency church.”

“I’ll text the others,” Fox said, pulling out his cell.

Trish and Michelle shrugged as if this was a common occurrence, Robin rolled her eyes, and Carol’s expression didn’t reveal her feelings. Audra gave me a small, apologetic smile. “I’m sorry this happened on your first girls’ night out with us,” she said after a minute. “I hope this won’t keep you from coming with us again.”

“Nothing to be sorry over,” I told her, smiling. “I had a good time for the most part.”

“You’ll still let Sam sleep over, won’t you?” The women began gathering up their belongings in readiness for scooting out of the booth.

Rock set me on my feet and I moved aside so he could get out. Instinctively I looked to him for direction. There was no disguising the lust in his dark eyes, the slight flaring of his nostrils. A quick peek down revealed a serious strain on his zipper where his bowed cock was trying to get out. I shivered, biting my bottom lip to keep from smiling.

I reluctantly pulled my gaze away from his. “Are you sure you don’t mind another one?” We’d planned to be home well after the children were in bed asleep. It was a good possibility that there would be one or two still awake at this time of night, especially if the little ones were whiny. Sam was a good sleeper, but sometimes a disruption in his routine kept him up past his usual bedtime.

“Of course we don’t mind,” Robin assured me. “Besides, Sheryl lives with us, so she’ll still be there to help out.”

“Let Sam spend the night,” Rock joined in the conversation. “Robin has a special routine she does with the kids the morning after girls’ night out. He’ll have a good time.”

I smiled, wondering what her special routine was. I’d have to remember to ask her about it later. The urgency I sensed in the men didn’t allow for any further conversation. “I guess it’s decided, then.”

When Hawk was out of the booth he reached deep into his pocket, pulled out a black wallet, opened it, and pulled out a few bills. He tossed them onto the table.

  “Let’s move.”

  Chapter 23

  Rock

I was thankful for the shortness of Allie’s little dress the moment I felt the heat of her cunt up against my backside. It was scorching, and it kept my dick fucking hard on the ride home. She’d ridden to Ruby’s with Audra and Carol but I’d insisted on taking her home on the back of my bike. I wanted her with me where I could protect her. And I liked the feel of her arms wrapped around me, her body up tight against my back, her legs against the back of mine.

The thought of another man’s hands on Allie turned me into a jealous monster. She’d said he hadn’t touched her, but his threatening words implied that he would if he got the chance. Ned and Bullet had been run off the road by Blue Knights earlier, sending Bullet to the hospital with serious head and internal injuries. Ned was covered in scrapes and bruises from the impact of hitting the asphalt before rolling into a ditch. Thank fuck they’d been exiting the highway when the ambush had happened. Their speed was considerably less than it would have been had they been attacked on the highway.

Thank fuck both brothers had been knocked unconscious. That had probably saved their lives. Blue Knights had no reason to outright kill them, all they’d wanted was the merchandise in the truck Ned and Bullet had been following, yet Lynch had warned us that they weren’t afraid to use lethal force when necessary. According to the driver of the truck, Blue Knights had forced him to pull over, had pulled him out and then taken off with the merchandise, leaving the driver, Ned, and Bullet on the side of the road.

Our clients would expect retribution, and because we’d been on protection duty we’d be expected to pay them for their lost merchandise. It was a clause in our verbal contracts and kept us from losing regulars for future runs. It was a win win for them, a fucking loss for us, thanks to the Blue Knights.

They had balls showing up in our territory.

Halfway home I debated about bringing Allie back to the club with me. I didn’t like the thought of leaving her at the house alone. She could stay in my room until church was over, and I wouldn’t have to worry about her. It was late, hell, we might even spend the night there.

My turn came up and I zipped right on past. Five minutes later we were pulling into the parking lot of the large, old farm house we’d converted into two successful businesses. A restaurant was located at one end, and Naughty Nights, our bar, at the other. The clubhouse was located around the back of Naughty Nights. Rooms on the second floor were for club members and sweet butts to use when they needed them.

I thought about my clubhouse bed, and prayed that the sheets had been changed since the last time I’d used it. It had been a while, but I knew the last time I’d used the bed it hadn’t been for sleeping, and I hadn’t been alone. I rolled around the back and backed my bike up against the building. It looked like I’d beaten most of the brothers there. Kicking the stand down, I flipped the switch.

“Off, babe.” I offered my hand to assist her.

“You’re not taking me home?” Her eyes met mine once she was off my bike.

A smirk covered my mouth as I watched her yank her dress down. Considering that it stopped at mid-
thigh, it didn’t cover much. I’d already seen enough to know that she was wearing a tiny, sexy thong that left nothing to the imagination. “After church.” I brought my leg over the seat of my bike. “I didn’t want to leave you alone at the house.”

“Do you think those men were from Blue Knights?”

I released a heavy breath and took her by the hand. “Time will tell.” I wasn’t going to admit shit that might scare her. My gut told me that the fuckers were either Blue Knights or close friends of theirs, and that they’d been scoping out our women for a reason. It was too much of a coincidence that Blue Knights had intercepted a run and attacked two brothers, and I didn’t believe in fucking coincidences.

I pulled Allie inside the clubhouse, my gaze moving around the room to take in what was going on. It was quiet. A couple of brothers were playing pool. A table of four was deep into a game of poker if the money stacked in the middle of the table was any indication. They each had a beer in front of them, except for BK, he liked the hard stuff. Painter and two other brothers were sitting next to the stripper pole, watching Lynn do her shit. Marnie was behind the bar. The other girls were probably out front entertaining customers.

I took in a breath, hoping Marnie behaved herself. Back in the beginning when Hawk had first showed up with Audra, I’d seen plenty of trouble between him and Sid. She’d mistakenly thought that she’d meant something to Hawk since she’d been the only sweetbutt to relieve him when he needed it, and I’d practically done the same fucking thing with Marnie. The girls knew what they were there for, but if you singled one out you fucked yourself.

I ignored Marnie, though I felt her eyes on me. Some brothers looked over when they heard me come in, acknowledging me with chin lifts, before their gazes went to Allie with blatant curiosity. They’d all heard that she was back, but this was the first time I’d brought her to the clubhouse. I didn’t want their fucking eyes on her because I knew what they’d be thinking. Allie was hot, and I didn’t want to see the lust that would soon overcome their expressions.
