No Mercy

I didn’t want to have to punch anyone out.
“Prez has called emergency church, brothers.” I waited until everyone’s attention was back on me. “He’ll be here soon, so be ready.”
I pulled Allie through the room to the stairs that led to my room. So far she’d remained quiet and compliant, but I didn’t expect that to continue. Maybe she was fucking tired and I’d get a break. I opened my door, pulled her into the room, and shut the door behind us.
What the fuck? My bed looked rumpled and messy, just like it had when I’d left it last. It appeared that someone had staged a scene that would cause anyone to be able to draw only one conclusion-- that there’d been some serious fucking activity going on there, and recently. A pillow had been placed in the center of the bed, something I would put under Marnie’s ass to tilt her hips so that I could pound into her deeper, and there was no denying the lingering smell of sex in the air. I was sure the multiple stains on the sheets were fresh. And not mine.
“Fuck you, Rock,” Allie pulled her hand from mine. “Is this what you were doing while I was at the club with the girls? Fucking one of your club whores?” There was anger in her voice.
“I haven’t fucked anyone in this room in a long while.” It was the truth, but for some reason I felt guilty and it pissed me the fuck off. I had nothing to feel guilty about. I hadn’t touched another woman since Fox had located Allie. But even if I had, it was none of her damned business. She’d done her share of keeping me at arm’s length.
Her face was red with anger, her eyes glittering with disgust. She slapped her hands on her hips, obviously not hearing what I’d just said. Otherwise she might have questioned me further. “I’m not a club girl, but maybe you should stick to them, because I’m not going to let you treat me like one.” She made a move toward the door.
Oh, hell no! My hand shot out and I caught her wrist. Our eyes clashed with a mixture of anger and determination. “Where the hell do you think you’re going?”
“Anywhere but here,” she hissed, trying to pull away. “Maybe your club girls don’t mind fucking you in a dirty, fluid-stained bed, but I’m not touching it with a ten-foot pole! Now let me go!” She yanked hard on her wrist, but I wasn’t ready to release her.
“Calm the fuck down−”
“You calm the fuck down!” she ground out through her teeth. “It’s not enough that you taunt me about coming here to fuck around, but now you have to throw it in my face?”
“Taunt is all it was.” I wanted to kick myself for admitting that much. It made me look like a pussy.
“Your bed says otherwise,” she insisted stubbornly, her pretty little mouth pressed tight, quivering. She wrinkled up her nose. “The smell in this room says otherwise.”
Fuck, were those tears in her eyes? It hadn’t occurred to me that Allie might be hurt rather than angry. She was putting on a good show of hiding her emotions. I glanced back at the bed. There was going to be hell to pay. I’d been set-up, and someone had used my room without my permission. I opened my door and stepped out into the hallway, bellowing loud enough for someone to hear me from down stairs.
“I need a fucking prospect up here now!” I kept a firm hold on Allie’s arm because I knew she’d take off the second she got free. A minute later, Sorry, a new prospect, appeared in front of us. He didn’t say a word, either because he was afraid of the look on my face, or he was just smart. “Have any idea who the fuck used my room?” He shook his head without hesitation. “Get some clean sheets on my bed fucking now.”
“Yes, sir!” He turned and disappeared.
I turned back to Allie. The tears hadn’t fallen, but they still glistened like huge bubbles in her eyes. It tore me up. I put both my hands on her small shoulders and leaned closer to her face. “Babe, the only thing I’ve done in this bed since you came back is sleep. I haven’t had a woman in this room, haven’t fucked anyone since Fox found you.”
She stared at me long and hard, as if trying to determine if she could believe me. I was fucking ecstatic to see a little relief come into her eyes. “But, you said−”
“I know what I said. I was pissed.” I was willing to admit at least that much.
Sorry re-appeared with a stack of clean sheets and went right to changing the bed without having to be told. “Don’t put the spread back on, it needs laundering with the rest.”
“Yes, sir.”
“And flip the fucking mattress over!”
“Yes, sir.”
He was quick, efficient, and smart enough to know not to try and make any small talk while he worked. When he was done he gathered up everything in his arms and took off again. Prospects had to earn their way into a club, and that could take up to two years. In the meantime, they were kept busy running errands and doing menial labor, like cleaning and cooking. They had to show the members that they were ready and eager to do anything the club asked of them.
Once he was gone I closed the door. “I gotta get downstairs for church. You going to be okay?”
“Yeah, I’ll watch some TV or something.” She sat down on the foot of the bed. The movement drew her skirt further up her thighs, and my mouth watered at all that soft, exposed flesh revealed. I’d have liked nothing better than to stay there with her and make use of my bed.
“I’ll send up a snack. Don’t know how long this is going to take.”
She gave me a small smile. “Thanks.”
I couldn’t help myself. I bent, scooped the back of her neck, and pulled her to me for a kiss. I’d meant for it to be brief, but the second my lips touched hers I knew I wasn’t going to leave there until she was breathless and needy. Her mouth was soft and eager beneath mine, it didn’t take much convincing for her to let me inside. Tiny moans escaped her mouth when our tongues meshed in a give and take dance that amped up our hunger. She tasted so fucking sweet. I wanted to lay her back and cover her with my body, plow between her silken thighs and plant my seed deep inside her body. By the time we were finished my dick was harder than fucking stone in my pants.
She was breathing hard when I pulled away. I smiled. “You know how close I am to lifting up your skirt, ripping that thong off, and fucking you into tomorrow?” Her slow smile did something funny to my heart. “But duty calls, baby.” I straightened before I caved in to taking what was mine. “I’ll be back.”
When I got back down to the club room Lynn had replaced Marnie behind the bar. I wondered where she’d gone to. I wanted to question her about the condition of my bed. “Where’s Marnie?”
Lynn shrugged. “Don’t know. Out front, maybe?”
“Have the kitchen put together a plate of cheese, crackers, and some fruit, and have them take it up to my room.”
“Sure thing.” She smiled. “Anything to drink?”
“Yeah, beer should be good. Has Hawk returned?” The only brothers I saw sitting around the room were soldiers.
“About two minutes ago,” she confirmed.
I nodded and took off. I was anxious for shit to be over so I could get back up to Allie.
Chapter 24
Rock
We’d all plowed into the room and had barely taken a seat before Hawk began church. “Some of us just came from Ruby’s. Rock’s woman was approached by one of the men from a group who’d been eyeing our women, warned Allie we were on Blue Knights list, and to watch our fucking backs.” I had to wonder what that meant, considering they’d made their presence known to us already. Hawk paused, letting what he’d said sink in. “Everyone remember the president of Blue Knights from a few years back, Dirk?”
Several brothers nodded. “Think it’s the same Blue Knights?” Big John asked, a heavy frown on his face.
“Thought he took off soon after his club broke up,” Painter remarked.
“He didn’t disband his fucking club because he wanted to,” I reminded everyone. “He did it to take the heat off them for the murder of Covacks’ son. Nothing stopped him from leaving the area and starting over.”
r /> “Keeping the same fucking name? That don’t make any sense.” I had to agree with Jumper. “Besides, he didn’t have the balls for running a real MC.”
“Jumper’s right. Dirk and his pretty college boys were soft and more like fucking poster boys for a Calvin Kline commercial than bikers. But−” Hawk held up his hand, “we all know that years and what goes on during them can change a man. Go into prison a boy and come out a man. Go in a man and come out a buffed-up hard-ass that everyone fears. Life scars a person, inside and out, makes them who they are.”
“The women said the men watching them were young, handsome, didn’t give them the impression they were bikers.” Everyone looked at Fox. “What if they’re leading a double life?”
It grew quiet for a moment. “Interesting thought,” I acknowledged, seeing the feasibility of it. “We know the Blue Knights are nomads. But so far no one has mentioned seeing their colors other than when they attack.”
Painter snorted. “So now we have a bunch of pretty-boys playing civilians by day and rat-thieving bikers by night? How the fuck are we supposed to find them if they aren’t wearing their colors twenty-four-seven?”
“That’s just one possible scenario,” Hawk sneered. “Anyone seen Dirk around lately? Know if he’s acquired any scars on his face?” His question drew a lot of head shakes. “We need to find him, find out what he’s been up to these last few years.” Hawk’s gaze went to Fox. “You know what to do, brother.” Fox responded with a chin lift and Hawk’s gaze swung to Big John. “Once Fox pulls up his last location you and Clay go check it out. If he’s there, bring him in.”
“Why don’t we put someone on Ruby’s in case those fuckers show up again,” Jumper suggested, lighting a cigar.
“We don’t know what those fuckers look like,” I snorted. “Clean cut, casual, good looking just about describes everyone who goes there.”
“I’ll tell you one thing,” Ned snarled, taking a deep drag on his cigarette and blowing it out before continuing. “None of the fuckers that ambushed us last night were pretty.” Laughter followed his comment. “And they knew what they were fucking doing, hard to believe they can be the same useless fucks-from years back.”
“The key is finding Dirk and going from there. In the meantime, keep your eyes and ears open and stay on guard. Good news is, we don’t have any protection runs for a while, and so far that’s the only thing they’ve been hitting. It’s clear they want merchandise.”
“They might want merchandise, but the fucker who threatened Allie made it clear that he wants her,” I reminded Hawk.
“Could have been a hollow threat, brother.”
I snapped my gaze to Jumper. “Had it been your woman would you still feel the same way?”
“Fuck, no,” he admitted honestly. He looked at Hawk. “We goin’ on lockdown?”
Hawk shook his head. “Not necessary. I’m inclined to think like Jumper. Think the threat made to Allie was to get a reaction, keep us on our toes.”
“I hope you’re fucking right, brother,” I grumbled. “We’ve had things easy for a while now, hope we haven’t gotten soft.” I could tell Hawk didn’t like what I’d said, but this was church and brothers were allowed to voice their opinions, as long as we kept it respectable.
“You mean weak,” Painter joined in, a heavy scowl on his face. “Don’t exactly like what you’re implying, brother. We’re not pussies.”
“Did I say we were pussies?” I snarled.
“Rock’s right,” Hawk said, surprising the fuck out of me. “The peace in the club has been nice, but when life is easy it doesn’t take long to forget survival skills. This thing with Blue Knights might be good for us, as long as we don’t have to shed too much blood.”
Ned slammed his fist down onto the scarred table top, his expression fierce. “Regardless of who these fuckers are, I want their asses! Bullet’s laid up in the fucking hospital because of them.”
Several brothers nodded.
“Enough.” Hawk rose to his feet. “We find the men at Ruby’s and we find Blue Knights, or at least a connection to them. We find Dirk, rule him out, the pieces will fall into place.”
“And if he’s involved?” Clay asked.
“We deal with it like we always have. Blue Knights is a nomad club, they’re easier to do business with than a club who’s after territory rights. But after last night, they need to be taken out of the equation completely, and I think we all know what the fuck that means.” He looked around the room, his gaze landing on Clay. “I think Jumper’s earlier comment has merit. Take a prospect and stake out Ruby’s for a couple of nights in case those men return, or Dirk shows up. Be looking for a man with a scar that cuts through his brow. We’ll play their game, don’t wear your cuts.” Clay acknowledged him with a sharp nod. “Go home to your women, brothers.”
Hawk was standing, but I remained sitting. We usually had words after church. It was late, but my gut told me that it didn’t make a difference. I was eager to get back to Allie, and knowing that she was upstairs in my room had kept my dick hard during most of the meeting. As soon as I stepped into my room I was going to show her how much I wanted her.
How much I fucking needed her.
The door shut behind the last brother. Hawk lowered himself down into his chair with a heavy breath. I grinned, getting a mild scowl in return. “You think this is Dirk’s old MC?”
He seemed to give it some thought. “The Dirk I knew five years ago, no, but five years can change a man. If it is him, then somewhere along the way he grew balls. Takes guts to ambush armed men on protections runs.”
Yeah, we were paid well to protect the merchandise in those trucks. Some of it was legal shit, most of it wasn’t, and sometimes you found yourself protecting a decoy while the real shit was being transported by a different method. Whatever the client wanted and could afford. If you ran into trouble you could lose your life, or end up going to prison. There were a lot of different possibilities. It was a risk we took.
I sat back in my chair. “I remember when we asked Dirk to stop wearing their colors and loose the bikes, sit low for a while. He couldn’t do it fast enough if it meant getting the heat off his club for Dominick’s murder.”
Hawk grinned, nodding. “Pussies. Instead of facing the threat head on they took the easy way out.”
“Wonder how long it took Dirk to realize that it was safe to bring his club back together.”
“If this is his old club, that still remains to be seen. Allie’s description of the man who approached her at Ruby’s doesn’t sound like the Dirk I saw last.”
Hawk had a point, but still I shrugged. “Like you said, brother, years can change a man. I still want the fucker for threatening her. Don’t give a fuck if it was done to get a reaction. I’ll give him a reaction at the end of my gun.” I didn’t like the slow grin spreading across Hawk’s face, as if he knew something that I didn’t. “We done? I want to get back to my woman.”
His brows shot up. “You said you were gonna claim her, but I haven’t heard any announcements made to the club, brother.”
“Allie knows that she’s mine.”
Hawk shook his head. “It’s not enough that she knows it. You better make a public claim if you want our brothers to keep their distance when she’s around.”
“They know−”
“And if you want the club to protect her.” He was right, damn him. But it still pissed me off that he’d force me to claim her in front of the club in order to protect her. I’d protect her regardless, but club rules were set up for a reason. As I continued to glare at my best friend he added, “I claimed Audra from the get go, brother. And I didn’t even want her.”
I snorted with the lie. “Bullshit. You wanted that little red-headed witch the second you caught her trying to steal your bike.” He just grinned and shrugged, knowing that I was right. “I want something with Allie, brother. Maybe I wasn’t ready seven years ago when she told me she was pregnant, but every day while she
was gone I regretted my reaction to the news. It sent her away. Now that I have her back I intend to keep her.”
Hawk leaned forward in his chair, narrowing his eyes at me. “Then claim her the right way. Build a life with her and your son. Make more babies together. I never thought I’d be there, but Audra saved me. Every one of those little beings that come out of her womb make my heart feel like it’s going to fucking explode, the love is so fierce. They keep me grounded. It’s worth it, brother. Balances out the evil we face, demolishes the demons riding us. There’s nothing better on this earth than going home to a good woman and a house full of babies.”
I just stared at Hawk for a minute, speechless, and then said, “Wow, Prez, never thought I’d hear you sounding so philosophical−”
A rough laugh escaped him and he got to his feet. “Fuck you, brother. I’m going home to my woman and babies.”
I remained in my chair, lifted my feet on the table, crossed my ankles, and folded my arms behind my head. I contemplated what he’d said. Hell, I already knew all those things. I could see for myself what Hawk had with Audra, what Jumper, Snake, and Fox had with their women. Other brothers were heading in that direction, too. Peace in the club gave us time to think about our futures, made us think it was safe to get a woman and start a family.
Sometimes shit worked out, most times, but we were always ready for trouble. I wanted to think that having Allie and Sam in my life right now was a good time. I’d never thought I’d settle down, not even when Allie and I were young and reckless. I’d known that she was meant for me but back then, I hadn’t thought past each day. Hell, I hadn’t thought past the moment.
Now I was thinking about a future with her.
And having more babies.
Chapter 25
Allie
I was having a dream. A hot, delicious dream that included Rock, and we were naked. He was making love to me, not just fucking me, but actually making long, sweet love to me. His hands were gentle, roaming over my body and worshiping all his favorite places. He cupped my breasts, scraped his thumb over my nipples until they peaked and I was gasping out at the spike of pleasure that licked my core. All the while his mouth moved over me, kissing, licking, and nibbling my flesh, leaving me squirming and moaning against the cool sheets.
