  He would also get Zach a bottle of that expensive Scotch he loved so much!

  Chapter 14

  Kade was watching the house – the one he knew his mate was in! He could smell her – knew it was her breeding cycle – and he could also smell a vampire! His disgust was enormous – he was going to make her pay!

  Over three years he had waited – knowing that she would relax her guard – biding his time for his vengeance!

  He was not alone – three of his pack was with him – they had driven all the way from Canada and hid their vehicle near a remote ravine. They had all gone wolf and ran the rest of the way, an opening in a remote fence behind some bushes just waiting to let them in!

  The wolves went around the perimeter again and again until her scent had came to him on the wind – following it straight to the back of the house he was now behind. His men were with him, waiting on his orders.

  He had told them he was coming to retrieve his family – but that was not on his agenda! No, he came to hurt her and they were only there for back up in case he needed muscle!

  He had left his Beta at home – one that he would need to get rid of – his questioning of his authority was coming far too often! He had also not believed Kade when he was setting up this little trip. Knew that he wasn't coming to bring back his family. He was now a liability and Kade would deal with him on his return.

  He made himself comfortable – he was nothing if not patient and would wait until his mate was on her own. Then he would enter the house and she would suffer as she had never suffered before! His erection grew in his jeans – the thought of hurting her turning him on – he had missed this! Having her grovelling in front of him, pleading for him to stop hurting her! Fuck, he was going to enjoy this! A smile spread on his lips – he couldn't wait!

  Dmitri had just finished showering and made his way to the kitchen where Donna was getting the food she had started earlier. Her stomach rumbled loudly and Dmitri laughed - “Oh you're really hungry aren't you?” he asked and she nodded. “I could eat a horse!” she replied and Dmitri frowned - “Really?” he queried and she looked at him – did he think she was being literal? “Uhm no Dmitri – it's just a saying – I may be a wolf but I don't eat horse!” she flung back at him – watching as his frown turned to a smile. “Thank goodness – I like horses. I'll take you riding – next week – after this cycle is over.” he told her and she smiled even more – she loved riding!

  Dmitri walked towards Donna and she stepped into his arms - “So are you sure you're going to be ok for a little bit?” Dmitri asked and she confirmed she would be - “Of course – as long as you're not too long – come back quick.” she said quietly and he spoke down into her hair – while taking another deep breath of her scent into his senses. “I won't be long – I need some clean clothes and want to double check it's ok for me to have the time off.” he told her and gave her a deep kiss before releasing her.

  “Ok – go – the quicker you go the quicker you'll be back.” and she gave him a slight push towards the front door. “Oh and I'll bring some tools – fix the door.” he threw over his shoulder – and she nodded. Then he was gone. She felt strange – she missed him already and couldn't wait til he was back!

  Kade watched the vampire leave – having made his way into the back garden – he was now situated behind a fragrant flowering bush at the side of the property – he could see both the front and back doors from here. The bush giving him protection from both eyes and noses!

  When he saw the vampire it scared him – just a little – the thing was huge! Kade hadn't seen anyone as large – and a vampire – he would be strong! Kade hoped that he would be away for a while – he didn't need too long with his mate to punish her!

  Dmitri drove home and packed a holdall with several changes of clothes and some toiletries. Then phoned Zach - “Dmitri is that you?” Zach asked when he answered. “Yes Zach – I just wanted to make sure it's ok for me to take some holiday days?” Dmitri asked and waited on what he knew would come. “Yes of course it is – but what are you doing on the phone my friend – shouldn't you be busy just now?” Zach asked in a half laugh – his words alluding to why Dmitri needed the time off – i.e. Donna's breeding cycle!

  “Enough Zach – it worked out so don't start giving me a hard time or I may just forget to get you that expensive crap you drink.” Dmitri spoke coldly – letting Zach know he wasn't in the mood for any ribbing! “Now now Dmitri – touchy touchy – you bloody better not forget my reward!” Zach replied and started laughing - “Ok – away you go – get back to Donna. I'll see you both when you get back to work – oh and Dmitri – I'm happy for you! After all why should you be the only single one amongst us now!” and Dmitri just hung up – not answering Zach.

  Dmitri smiled – as he was walking back to his car and a couple of the Guards were going past – both stopped and looked at him! Shit they had never seen Dmitri smiling before! Dmitri wiped the smile from his face – trying not to laugh as he put back his cold, calculating gaze onto his features. The Guards visibly relaxed – that was the Dmitri they knew!

  Just as he opened the jeep to throw his bag in, he heard his name – Vlad was walking towards him. “Hey Dmitri – where are you off to?” Vlad asked – having seen him throw in a weekend bag. Dmitri sighed – he knew it would get out but he had hoped for some time - “Uhm – I'm ...” and before Dmitri could get anything else out Vlad grabbed him. “What the fuck! Dmitri – that's a pretty big wound on your neck. Care to enlighten me?” Vlad asked. When Vlad saw a slight blush come over Dmitri's face he was astounded!

  “Ok Vlad – I'll tell you but no jokes, nothing – ok?” Dmitri spoke in a tone that Vlad knew well – cold, hard, tough!

  “Okaay big guy. Spill.” Vlad came out with and Dmitri let a small smile come over his lips and this made Vlad even more surprised! “Quick version – Donna and I are together.” Dmitri spoke quickly – wanting to get this over with as quickly as possible.

  Vlad stared for a few seconds before he clapped Dmitri on the back - “I'm pleased for you Dmitri – tho I know she is in her breeding cycle so you better hurry up and get back. No joking – she will need you Dmitri.” Vlad said seriously and Dmitri was glad – he was sure Vlad would give him a good teasing at some point but for the moment he was letting him off.

  He would take it and inclined his head and got in his jeep. “Drive fast Dmitri – she'll be waiting on you!” Vlad shouted and Dmitri drove off – amazed at the difference to his life in less than twenty four hours!

  As Dmitri was packing his bag Kade had moved to the front door – the lock was busted and he pushed it open. He had told the rest of his wolves to stay outside – watch for anybody coming, he didn't need any witnesses for what he was about to do!

  Donna was just finishing her sandwiches – quite a few of them as she had been so hungry – when she heard the door open and footsteps. She lifted her head “Dmitri – that was quick!” she shouted and then her heart stopped.

  A scent reached her nose and she knew it! Fear pooled in her belly and she picked up a large knife from the block on the counter. No?! It couldn't be – but his scent grew stronger – Kade appeared in the doorway and she nearly wet herself!

  A scream tried to come out of her throat but suddenly it wasn't working – she couldn't get a breath and her skin had started to burn again. No – not now! She was telling her body – but it refused to take note of her pleading!

  “Ah Dawn – so nice to see you – and right in the middle of your cycle – all ready for me! It's going to be nice fucking you again – and I know you want it – I can smell you from here!” Kade's voice was disgusting to her ears.

  She held the knife in front of her - “Don't come any closer – don't you dare!” she tried to sound strong but her voice sounded feeble to her ears. Kade laughed - “Are you forgetting who you're ta
lking to bitch! I'm your Alpha and you will do as you're told! Drop the fucking knife – NOW!” he roared and her wolf cowered – her body obeying his direct command!

  She thought she was going to be sick – and tears filled her eyes. She refused to let them fall – not giving him the satisfaction.

  As the knife fell Kade walked closer – taking his belt from his jeans. He doubled it over and did that thing he used to do – making it snap together loudly – Donna cringed away. “I see you remember this?” Kade said as he snapped the belt again.

  Donna was shaking her head - “You need to leave – Dmitri will be back soon – he'll kill you!” Donna spat out and Kade's face was full of anger and disgust. “A fucking vampire – you're just like that whore of a daughter – opening your legs for one of THEM!” he shouted and moved quickly – grabbing Donna by the hair and slamming her head onto the counter.

  Pain radiated through her head, down her neck and her knees nearly buckled. However, Kade held her up by her hair and pushed her forwards – towards the dining table. Donna tried to struggle but Kade punched her on her kidneys – hard – and she barely held onto the sandwiches she had just finished.

  Once she was at the end of the table he kicked the chair away that was in his way and pushed her down. He held her in place with one hand and placed his belt on the table – right in front of her face where she could see it. Memories of him using it on her had her mind all but shutting down – she couldn't live through this again!

  There was the sound of clothing ripping and Kade had literally tore her trousers from her body – her panties were next to go and she was bare from the waist down! Her face burned in embarrassment and her fear went up so far she thought she would pass out!

  The belt disappeared from her view and she heard the swish it made through the air just before it hit her full force on her behind – welts appearing and blood pooling. Donna tried to scream but couldn't – until he hit her again and again and then the scream tore from her throat.

  As soon as she made a sound he bent down over her - “Don't make a fucking sound or I'll make it so much worse whore!” his voice in her ear full of hate.

  She tried to be quiet and he hit her again – and again – just as she realised she was going to scream again he looped the belt around her neck He pulled it tight and held onto it as she heard his zipper - “NOOOOOO” she screamed and he tightened the belt even more.

  Air was now finding it difficult to get into her lungs and she tried to loosen it from around her neck with her hands. She couldn't even get a finger tip underneath it – it was so tight it was digging into her skin.

  Dmitri pulled up and got the bag out the back – as he stood up he stilled – his nose could smell wolves – more than one and not any of theirs!

  He stood beside the car – as if he had all the time in the world – even tho he wanted to run full speed inside! “Vlad – hi- yea about what we were talking about earlier – well seems as if she has some visitors.” Dmitri spoke calmly, in a friendly manner – not wanting to tip anyone off that was within hearing distance.

  Vlad's answer was cool - “Ok Dmitri I'm on my way – I'll be there soon – I'll run it's quicker – phone Zach – now!” and Vlad hung up the phone.

  Dmitri kept the pretence up - “Ok Vlad see you for poker later, bye.” and he hung up and immediately rang Zach – he was angry at himself he should've called Zach first but he had been friends with Vlad for so long it had been natural for him to call his friend.

  Zach answered and before he could get a word out Dmitri spoke - “Zach – you know what I'm up to today – afraid there may be a problem – Vlad's on his way – could you meet us?” and the next second Zach was standing next to him his phone still open and at his ear.

  “What's up?” Zach asked and Dmitri could see Vlad running along the street – a blur to anything other than a Supers eyes.

  “Wolves – more than one – not ours – doors busted so they wouldn't have a problem getting in.” Dmitri spoke – his body desperately wanting to run to Donna.

  Doing something like this wrong tho could put her at more risk. Vlad arrived and Zach spoke - “Vlad take the right I'll take the left – Dmitri go in the door – go get Donna.” and they all moved quickly.

  Vlad came across two wolves almost immediately and managed to knock one out before they even realised he was there. The other changed to wolf and attacked – Vlad laughed – did this puppy think he could take him on? He very quickly showed it the error of its ways!

  Zach came across one at the side – which like Vlad – he had managed to get to it without it realising and punched it so hard it went flying up in the air and landed a good twenty feet away. He then heard a growl and another came around from the back of the house – Zach moved in – the wolf was no match for him and he barely broke a sweat before it lay on the ground. Badly hurt.

  Dmitri had moved quickly and let his senses lead him – her scent, her fear, her blood!

  His heart nearly stopped – not again – he couldn't lose another mate!

  The sight he came across stilled his movements. Donna was over the table – naked from the waist down – many many welts on her lower back, behind and upper thighs. Blood was oozing from the wounds and trickling down her legs. Her face was nearly blue – a belt tight around her neck. Kade behind her holding the belt – pounding into her from behind!

  Dmitri roared and moved so fast that Kade hadn't even realised anyone was there – far less a threat – he had been too busy with Donna that he had heard and smelt nothing!

  When Dmitri's large hand grasped him by the back of the neck and hauled him away from Donna his look was one of surprise! Dmitri threw him against the wall – near the brick fireplace – and he slid down. Dmitri very quickly released the belt enough for Donna to breathe and he worried when she didn't take a deep breath. Only a tiny one managed to make it past her lips.

  The look on the vampire's face as he turned once more to Kade made Kade think that this whole thing had been a very bad idea!

  He slowly stood up - “Hey – she's my mate – I can do whatever I want to her – besides she likes it rough – always has done – she's never complained before!” Kade said and realised an instant too late that he should've kept his mouth shut!

  Dmitri moved fast and grabbed him by the throat – he held him up against the wall with one hand while the other rained blows on him. Everywhere – his face, chest, stomach – no part of him that the vampire should reach was left untouched. The huge vampire's blows were so hard Kade realised he was going to die – he could feel things inside him break and burst – and when he coughed it was blood that came from his lips. He thought about changing to wolf but realised he just couldn't – he didn't have enough energy left to do it!

  Dmitri didn't stop – until he realised he needed to help Donna – she was hurt. So he snarled at Kade - “She's MY mate fucker!” and placed another hand on Kade – he pulled his head from his shoulders and let the body drop. He looked at the head in his hands and dropped it too – fucker wouldn't hurt anyone else again, he thought!

  As Dmitri turned he saw Zach and Vlad watching – they were over at Donna and Zach had taken his jacket off to cover her nakedness. That one thing hit Dmitri hard – his friend had tried to save her from being in front of everyone stark naked!

  He inclined his head as he moved over to his mate. “Donna – Donna – breathe honey – it's ok now – wake up!” he implored and Vlad shook his head at Zach – he saw the damage the belt had done to her throat – Zach took his phone out - “Lexi – I need you....” and that was all he got out – Lexi appearing right next to her father.

  Lexi looked around – a decapitated body lying on the floor – Dmitri holding a lady who was badly hurt – she took this all in with a quick look and moved forward. “May I?” she asked Dmitri – the huge vampire looked very upset, covered in blood and she didn't want to have to hurt him if he took exception to her tou
ching the woman.

  Dmitri looked up – Lexi? Zach's voice broke through to his senses - “She can help Donna Dmitri – let her help.” Zach told him and he nodded.

  Dmitri kept a close eye on both Lexi and Donna – watching intently. Lexi bent down and placed her hands on Donna – one near her back and one just under her throat. Right before their eyes they saw the change – the blue colour left Donna's face – being replaced by her usual skin tone. The blood stopped dripping from her wounds onto Dmitri – and he looked closer and saw them heal – his eyes actually saw them heal. Another second and Donna took a deep breath – and her eyes flew open – a scream tearing from her throat!

  Dmitri held her tight - “Donna it's me, Dmitri – you're ok – I've got you – you're safe.” he spoke quietly and her eyes came into focus – settling on his face. She looked confused - “Dmitri – Kade – Kade was here!” she spoke and Dmitri nodded - “We know honey – we got here just in time – he won't hurt you again.” Dmitri said and stood up – bringing Donna with him.

  “I'm going to take her upstairs – could this be dealt with?” Dmitri asked – nodding toward the body. Vlad moved his body so he shielded Donna from what lay in her living room! “Yes – you go look after Donna.” Vlad said and Dmitri moved - “Thank you Lexi.” he said as he left the room.

  Lexi just smiled and then said “See you later dad.” and disappeared.

  Chapter 15

  Vlad got to work – he called his second in command, Simeon – who had taken over when Dmitri moved to work with Zach – he gave orders in a clipped tone and hung up. Zach and Vlad went outside to round up the four wolves from Kade's pack. A couple were coming round so they hauled them out to the front and Zach held them in place while Vlad retrieved the two who were still unconscious. As Vlad was bringing the second one around Simeon arrived – in two large SUV's with extra Guards.
