  Ryker nodded and apologized again. “Let’s grab food and get to work. Gonna be a long night.”

  And a long night it was. After all the physical work to build the cabin all day and then to be up on my watch tower, cold and tired was hard to deal with.   My job was kind of a bore. But I had good company. I planted and tended to the community crops. At least the ladders made it easy for me to be up on the raised garden beds. I was on pumpkin today.   As I entered the cabin, Nova and Kento were together at the small table, they had a bowl and were making something.

  I nodded and then shook my head. “Um, yeah I left early. I was wanting to talk to you. If that’s okay?” I looked to the bed and saw Ezra and Ryker still asleep. The sound of them sleeping was loud.   She dusted her hands off and stood. “Yeah we can talk. You want to go outside? Take a walk?” I smiled and hurried out and down the stairs.

  When Nova came out, she quickly called out to Kento to, “Keep on kneading.”
