The Beast God Ridge could be said to be where Zhong Yue started his cultivation journey. There, he acquired the the beast god inner core and also the Xiang Dragon’s inner core. He refined the essence in it to refine his Fuxi bloodline, allowing him to awaken the Fuxi bloodline and the Fuxi divine eye. These two things then formed the foundation for his future achievements.

Could it be that this Xiang Dragon beast god was exactly the Xiang Dragon beast god that formed the Beast God Ridge?

But Zhong Yue had just encountered with the Xiang Dragon beast god and was nearly killed by it.

So, if they had just met and that this Xiang Dragon beast god was that Xiang Dragon beast god that formed the Beast God Ridge, how could the Xiang Dragon beast god still be alive after dying for so many years, and how could Zhong Yue have acquired its inner core?

“What the heck…" Zhong Yue was bewildered. It was too terrifying, too bizarre, and too shocking. He had never fathomed with such strange events before, nor had he ever heard of it!

This was unlike what had happened in the West Barren divine court that merely showed the images of the incident many years ago. Whatever happened here was truly happening again.

It was as if Zhong Yue had truly entered the ancient battlefield, in both the spiritual and physical sense.

He even heard the Xiang Dragon beast god talking to him!

  How was that even possible?

How could he even converse with the dead?

Even Xin Huo, with the experiences of his long-life and nearly omniscient knowledge, couldn’t answer the questions.

Faraway, Mother Da Zhen was also brought back by the cold breeze. She was coughing blood out from her mouth. Mother Da Zhen was brought away by the cold breeze for a longer period of time, surely, she would have suffered even greater wounds than Zhong Yue.

The mother god saw Zhong Yue as well, she suddenly suppressed her grave wounds and bolted away while saying, “Zhong Yue, don’t you think we should work together to survive this strange city? If we continue fighting, neither of us will be able to make it out alive!”

Zhong Yue wanted to chase after her but as soon as he raised his leg, his face turned even more pallid as he coughed out a mouthful of blood. In the blink of an eye, Mother Da Zhen had already run over a mile away, disappearing from his sight.

“Mother Da Zhen, you are right, we should work together. But if you run so far, how are we going to work together?" Zhong Yue suppressed his wounds and laughed as he said.

“Hmph, I don’t trust you…" The mother insect gave a cold snort while maintaining her distance from him. However, she didn’t go far either and she said, “You probably don’t trust me either. Hehe.”

Zhong Yue sneered coldly while he continued moving forward. The mother god was now swallowed by terror, she don’t dare to go near to him nor stray too far either. Mother Da Zhen was most probably terrified by the City of Nature.

However, Zhong Yue was also gravely wounded. He was struck by the gods two times. Although the two strikes would appear trivial to gods, he was just a Qi Practitioner. Those two strikes had nearly killed him!

If it weren’t for the Immortal Body, he would’ve already died from just the first strike!

My body is still carrying the wounds from those two strike, it seems I really had gone back eighty thousand years. Zhong Yue was surprised as inspected his wounds when he was trying to heal them, Can something that bizarre really happen?

All of a sudden, rays flashed in front of them. Zhong Yue walked toward the light rays and found them shrouding around a huge godly grave. The grave was already opened and the coffin in it was opened, but there was no skeleton or corpse in it.

This must have been done by the gods under Bi Xie’s command… Hmm, battle marks! Zhong Yue’s heart tensed up and he glanced around. The gods must have been caught off guard when they opened the tomb, which was why the battle marks were randomly scattered all over the place.

There wasn’t any skeleton inside the coffin, but there were some that were strewn around outside on the floor!

Zhong Yue’s face turned solemn, he cautiously inspected the skeletons. Just like the others, the skeletons here were also wiped clear of any spiritual energy, and there weren’t any totem patterns on them anymore.

Gods from different times had different skills that were imbued with the distinct mark of the era that they lived in. If there were still the totem patterns on the skeletons, Zhong Yue would be able to estimate which time period that the gods lived in.

However, with the skeletons devoid of all spiritual energy and the totem patterns dissipated, even he couldn’t get anything useful out from the skeletons.

Pity, I wonder if the skeleton from the coffin is among these skeletons.

Zhong Yue glanced at the coffin, and a claw mark on the coffin lid caught his attention. The claw mark looked as though there was a living being who tried to get out of the coffin.

Then, Zhong Yue walked to the side of the skeletons and inspected them one by one. After some time, he suddenly stopped in front of a skeleton and held a solemn face.

There were tiny wood chips stuck in between the finger bones of this skeleton.

The ancient god’s skeleton revived from the coffin… hadn’t I been through it before? Rays flashed across Zhong Yue’s eyes and he mumbled softly, “Returning Ruins, the Six Paths Reincarnation!”

The Returning Ruins was still affected by the residual energy of the destroyed Six Paths Reincarnation, causing some of the existences to lose their minds and live for eternity, even the dead would rise as evil creatures. The skeleton in this coffin would have been revived through the same process!

No, no, it doesn’t feel right. If it’s the Six Paths Reincarnation, then why didn’t the other skeletons come back to life? There are many gods’ skeletons out there, why aren’t they affected by the Six Paths Reincarnation?

Zhong Yue was wracking his head, but the earth suddenly quaked violently. Cracks emerged on the ground and light rays threaded their way out from the underground. Zhong Yue felt a strong force of attraction that was trying to pull his spiritual energy underground.

“What?" Zhong Yue was shocked and suddenly, a curtain of light rose in front of him and the light rays flew into the lifeless skeletons on the ground!

“Not good!" Without thinking much, Zhong Yue bolted away from the skeletons. Just seconds after that, the skeletons stood up and roared hoarsely!

Xin Huo was standing on Zhong Yue’s shoulder, he turned around and found the skeletons growing flesh and blood on their bodies. Veins were formed and muscles grew back in place, Xin Huo could also clearly see their internal organs forming in their bodies!

It was as if the skeletons were brought back to life, like they had all cultivated the Immortal Body and was growing back their flesh and blood mortal body!

“This City of Nature should be called the City of Strangeness…" Xin Huo mumbled.

The skeletons revived the gods and they were suffused with the thick and powerful godly auras. Their eyes were sharp like eagles and they were fast like lightning as they dashed toward Zhong Yue!

“This is bad!" Xin Huo said anxiously, “Brat Yue, hand over control of your mortal body, these gods were controlled by a strange power, you are no match for them. But even I am not sure if your cultivation and prowess under my control can hold them off… Huh?”

Arms grew out from Zhong Yue’s mortal body and his fingers made various hand seals as he was casting a queer skill.

It was the【Pan Gu Six Paths】!

At this point in time, the four gods were already right behind him. The shadows of their huge bodies covered him, and the light wheels behind them imposed a heavy pressure on the surroundings.

All of a sudden, Zhong Yue turned and his six light wheels abruptly shone brightly. In the midst of the light wheels, there was a Pan Gu god sitting there.

He made a hand seal, and the light wheels revolved rapidly on the back. The sounds of worship
that were directed toward the Pan Gu God could be heard as though there was a world that was chanting and worshipping in unison!

The four gods were expressionless as they struck at Zhong Yue. Suddenly, light rays flitted out from their bodies and entered the Pan Gu God behind Zhong Yue!

The gods’ hands had reached out for Zhong Yue, but the smell of rotten meat abruptly filled the surroundings. The revived gods were decomposing and the rotten meat fell off to the ground.

Their skin started to rot and their blood boiled away while the internal organs shrunk like deflated balloons and disappeared into smokes.

But the four skeletal palms still struck on Zhong Yue and sent him flying into the sky. Zhong Yue crashed down from mid-air and rolled for some distance, crashing through a few palaces before finally coming to a stop.

“Puk—" Zhong Yue coughed out a mouthful of blood and his face turned pale like snow. He tried to stand up but the bones in his body suddenly cracked, fracturing right on the spot, causing him to collapse on the ground like a boneless snake.

Although the four gods were killed in time, the leftover strength in their palms was still strong enough to push him to death’s doorstep!

Zhong Yue quickly sat down in the lotus position and tended to his injuries. From afar, Mother Da Zhen squinted her eyes that were filled with killing intent at Zhong Yue.

Zhong Yue coldly snorted and took out the Divine Wing Saber, holding it vertically in front of him.

Mother Da Zhen chortled and strode forward, “Brat, if you didn’t take out the Divine Wing Saber, I wouldn’t have dared to come at all. But the fact that you took it out means you are only a step away from death. That’s why you’ve taken the Divine Wing Saber out to scare me away!”

Zhong Yue hurried up in remedying his wounds while he remained placid ostensibly, “Da Zhen, how sure are you that I didn’t take out this saber to draw you closer to kill you?”

Mother Da Zhen hesitated, she stopped and thought, This brat is evil and cunning like a fox, he pretended to be a lamp god and nearly tricked me into killing myself. There is no guarantee that this is just another show he is putting up to lure me into his trap again…

She pondered for a few moments, chortled abruptly and left.

But Zhong Yue remained vigilant toward his surrounding. Moments later, Mother Da Zhen’s voice came from far, “What a cautious opponent, I will not let you live the next time we meet!”

Zhong Yue hasn’t let his guard down at all. Mother Da Zhen waited in the dark for a long time but still couldn’t find an opening. She shook her head and left for real.

This brat, he is really cautious even under the most extreme conditions. He will be a terrifying enemy once he become deity!

Rays flashed across Mother Da Zhen’s eyes as she thought, He must be allowed to live! There might some medicinal pellets in the City of Nature, I might be able to recover some of my strength with them. By then, it’ll be as easy as crushing an ant to kill him… Hmm, what have we got here, divine herbs!

  Chapter 562: Dark Age |

She sniffed around and traced the source of the fragrance. Only the high divine herbs could emanate such a distinctive scent!

Mother Da Zhen was traveling at a great speed and was suddenly swallowed by a mist.

The mist was suffused with the aromatic scent of the divine herb. Within the mist, even the god’s psyche couldn’t extend far enough, it appeared more like obstructive particles that filled the surroundings than an actual mist.

The mist shrouded the whole city in nearly just a breath’s time. When Zhong Yue noticed it, it was already too late for him to escape.

However, the mist dispersed as quickly as when it came, leaving Zhong Yue stunned still on the spot.

This time, he appeared to be in a bleak desert, the sun hung high in the sky and yet appeared to be just right above him. It was as if there was an array formation that pulled the sun closer to the ground.

The heat coming from the sun scorched on the land below.

But he wasn’t alone in here. There were many war prisoners that were tied up tight and their bodies buried in the ground with only their heads exposed above the ground.

Totem patterns flitted around the prisoners of war, forming into seals that shackled them. Their faces were stained with blood and their auras were weak and feeble.

  They are all… gods!

Zhong Yue was shocked. The war prisoners paved were strewn across the ground all the way up to the end of the horizon. From afar, there were the whistling of dragons and roaring of tigers, these legendary beasts were pulling on the divine chariots. There were gods fully donned in armors on the chariots as they drove past the floor of heads. Every time they passed by a war prisoner, they would slash their weapons and open a hole on the prisoners’ heads.

The war prisoners would groan and cry in pain but the gods in the chariots were nonchalant. They would take out the seeds of the divine herbs from a cloth sack and plant them inside of the war prisoners’ head wounds.

Zhong Yue was in utter shock. He watched as the seeds were planted, growing exuberantly inside of the god prisoners’ heads. These divine herbs were nourished by the essence of the gods!

They were the source of the aromatic fragrance in the mist!

The chariots moved in a line as they plant down the divine herbs, drawing nearer to Zhong Yue.

Zhong Yue was still sitting in the lotus position as he did in the City of Nature. He glanced around and startled to find Mother Da Zhen to be here as well. The mother god’s face was vacant, she was clearly shocked and bewildered as well.

“Son, bury yourself in the sands. Don’t be afraid." Suddenly, an old and hoarse voice sounded out. Zhong Yue quickly looked over and found an old man with a head of white hair buried in the sands as well as he said, “Don’t worry.”

Zhong Yue hesitated for a moment before listening to the old man’s advice, burying himself into the sands just like the others, leaving only his head above ground.

“There is nothing to be afraid of." The old man looked at Zhong Yue with a pair of warm and gentle eyes, he mumbled softly, “The Fuxi Clan has no fears. Your ancestors are here, your people are here, your peers, your siblings, your friends and families, they are all here with you, we are all here. So, don’t be scared.”

“Fuxi… Clan…." Zhong Yue’s body shuddered in the sands and he murmured, “Fuxi Clan…”

“Rebels, you asked for everything you are suffering now!" A god on the chariot laughed loudly and said, “Great Year 35412, Patriarch Nature led a mighty army and stopped the Fuxi Clan rebels. Because of you rebels, we were able to capture many war prisoners and were rewarded greatly. Now, you rebels will become fertilizer for our herbs! It’s too nice to just kill you all, I want all of you to suffer more than death!”

Zhong Yue was between laughters and tears, he didn’t know how to react. All of these war prisoners, are they all his people, his ancestors?

  Fuxi rebels? Great Year?

Why weren’t there any records about any of this?

“We lost the war, but we are not defeated, never. As long as the blood of Fuxi still remains, even when there is only one of us left, we will rise again! The glorious days of our Fuxi Clan, of our ancestors will shine brighter than ever!”

Beside Zhong Yue, the old man laughed back even louder as he said in an old yet powerful voice, “One day, a Fuxi will walk in the darkness and lead our people. He will cleanse this world with the blood of our enemies and forge a new era from the ruins of the present world! The time for the Fuxi Clan will never die. I promise you, my enemies; I promise you, my people; That day will come!”

“How dare you!" a god sitting in one of the chariots stood up in anger, he chided back in an imposing manner.

“Hahahaha!" suddenly, the war prisoners all laughed loudly along with the old man. They said in unison, “He will come, he will!”

“The blood of our enemies will be splashed all over the world and the sun of F
uxi will shine to every corner of this universe!”

“None of you evil creatures will stand any chance at all! Die, you filthy scums!”

  ……

“How presumptuous!" the gods in the chariots were piqued in anger.

  ……

They quickly speed up and planted the divine herbs at a faster rate, while sneering coldly, “Show me how can you still laugh after you die!”

All of a sudden, the sky turned gloomy and a huge face appeared lowering down from the cloud layers. He smiled and said, “Are the Fuxi talking nonsense again? No need to pay attention to anyone of them. The rebels come from all over the universe and they are gathering here to revolt against us in this little planet. Those here are only the first batch of them, there are many more still on their way. We need to speed up, plant and reap the divine herbs. Only then shall we work on the next batch of rebels!”

Zhong Yue raised his head and looked at the face in the sky. He could recognize it. It was the head that formed the city gate, Patriarch Nature’s head.

Meanwhile, Mother Da Zhen was shouting loudly, “I am not a rebel! I am not on the same side as the Fuxi Clan! I am an insect mother god, leave me!”

“Another rebel!" the war chariots rushed toward her and the gods gave a cold snort, “Rebel, how surprising that you were able to escape the seals. But that won’t change a thing at all. Now, die!”

Mother Da Zhen shrieked as she sprinted toward Zhong Yue while shouting, “I am not a Fuxi, he is…”

A net was soon shot out of a chariot, enveloping her on the spot. Totem patterns surged out from the chariots and restricted her movements.

“This mother insect can escape the seals, she must be good. Let’s plant the divine herbs in her first then."Aa god swung his sword and planted a seed in her head.

At that instant, knowing that she could not escape anymore, Mother Da Zhen’s eyes were filled with killing intent and she shouted toward Zhong Yue, “I am not sealed, nor is he!”

Right after, the divine herb started siphoning her Yuan Shen and the mother god’s aura grew weaker.
