“There is another one?" The war chariots rushed over and the gods were startled as they saw Zhong Yue.

“A young Fuxi? Why is there a child here?”

The other gods nodded and said curiously, “The younglings should already been killed on the spot. They are too weak, it’s a waste to plant the divine herbs on them.”

A demon god stood up and clawed at Zhong Yue, he smirked as he said, “Let’s not waste the seeds and just eat him!”

All of a sudden, Zhong Yue burst out from the sands and slashed down the Divine Wing Saber!

But the demon god was placid, he jeered, “I always get excited to see the young ones raising their arms at me. Ahh~ I can’t wait to see the desperations in their eyes and the groans of excruciating pain when they are tortured!”

The demon god clenched his palm into a fist, leaving only one finger against the incoming Divine Wing Saber.

  Bang—

Zhong Yue was sent flying back into the sky, a trail of blood painted the sands as he retched up a huge volume of blood. As soon as he touched the ground, he already changed into the form of the Gou She and tried to escape underground.

“Come out, little toy!" The demon god stamped his feet on the sand. Immediately, Zhong Yue was pushed out from the sands and the demon god grabbed him in his hand, pulling Zhong Yue back into his mouth, “What a shame we only have a limited amount of time, I take my time to have fun with you….”

Then, the sky suddenly turned and the same old mist that brought Zhong Yue here filled in his vision again, blowing across the whole place. The strangling force that lifts him up was gone all of a sudden and Zhong Yue found himself back in the City of Nature, still sitting in the lotus position.

However, the claw marks from the demon god was still there and his injuries turned even worse.

It seemed like a dream but it felt so real, he couldn’t tell which one it was.

Suddenly, he opened his hand and found a pile of yellow sand in his palm; it was the sand he had grabbed when he pushed up from the ground. There was also still the blood of the Fuxi Clan members on the sands.

“Fuxi, my people, my ancestors…" Zhong Yue quietly reattach the broken bones and healed his wounds. He consumed a few leaves from the divine herbs and stood up as he walked away.

“The City of Nature, I will explore everything about it. I need to find out what happened in the Dark Age, to know of the pain and sufferings my ancestors been through!" A soft murmur came from the young man.

His chest felt burningly hot, as if the blood within him was boiling and his soul and spirit were filled with indomitable strength!

Vaguely, he saw his people buried and tortured in the desert again; heard the voice of the old man ringing in his ears.

“One day, a Fuxi will walk in the darkness and lead our people. He will cleanse this world with the blood of our enemies and forged a new era from the ruins of the present world! The time for the Fuxi Clan will never die. I promise you, my enemies; I promise you, my people; That day will come!”

Faraway, the fragrance of a divine herb came rushing into his nose. Zhong Yue mulled for a spit second and walked over.

There, Mother Da Zhen was standing straight and was on the brink of death. A divine herb was planted on top of her head and her cultivation base was no much different to other mortals now.

She was still not dead yet when the mist brought them back in the City of Nature. However, the divine herb that was planted on her followed along as well. With the divine herb parasitizing her mortal body and Yuan Shen, she was suppressed from moving and couldn’t pluck it away from her body.

“Zhong Yue…" her eyes were filled with terror and her breath was weak and short. She mustered all that was left of her and shouted like a newborn, “Help me! Help! I can kneel before you and swear my fealty to you! You can bring back a god for Swords Gate!”

Zhong Yue raised his hand and plucked down the divine herb from her head.

She instantly heaved a breath of relief and fawned, “I can also warm your bed for you…”

  Swoosh!

The Divine Wing Saber cleaved the mother god into half at the middle and the young man walked away. His voice resounded the place, “I am not in the mood for jokes.”

Moments later, Zhong Yue calmed himself down and a thought suddenly flashed across his mind, When we were outside of the city, I scanned her body with my divine eyes to look for her Yuan Shen but couldn’t find anything. Although I cleaved her mortal body, her Yuan Shen might still be alive!

He quickly turned and rushed back to Mother Da Zhen’s mortal body. He found a cracked insect egg left beside her corpse, but the insect in it was nowhere to be seen.

  Chapter 563: Eye |

It’s really hard to kill the gods… Zhong Yue looked at the cracked egg and thought. It was difficult for even a god to prevent other gods from escaping, let alone Zhong Yue.

When Mother Da Zhen was exposed by Zhong Yue, she was hunted by over a dozen West Barren gods. But even so, she still managed to survive until now.

After that in the Ancient Frozen Capital, when the other mother god was chased by the gods, Mother Da Zhen rushed over to rescue. And in the end, that mother god was killed, but she still managed to escape from the many Ancestral Star gods.

Then, in that battle with the Xiao Mang grand ancestor, Mother Da Zhen was also one of the few that had managed to escape alive.

One could really infer how it was to kill her.

Mother Da Zhen’s divine gold mortal body is destroyed, her shell was left behind, and now her mortal body is completely crushed. Now then, there’s the hiding place for her Yuan Shen, Zhong Yue thought, The way she hid her Yuan Shen is really strong, able to even hide away from my divine eyes. But this cracked insect egg just explained everything. She hid her Yuan Shen in the insect eggs. That way, she would be able to let go of her own mortal body and possess the newborn insects. Seems like the next time, I will have to even destroy all of the insect eggs in her body! But even so, she still won’t completely die as there will still be creatures worshipping her.

He thought of the insects that Mother Da Zhen left behind on the continent. Those insects were, in essence, her final lifeline!

As long as these insects continued to worship her, her spirit would not die!

The same went for Zhong Yue as well. He had many worshippers among humanity, the monter race, and the demon race. Over a million in number. It was easy to kill his body; any god could done that. But to truly erase his life would be incredibly hard.

it was already hard to kill a Qi Practitioners like Zhong Yue, it would be way harder to kill Mother Da Zhen. The mother gods could easily produce batches and batches of insects in anytime, and these insects would be able to worship them, keeping their spirits unkillable.

Not to mention that Mother Da Zhen was a prominent one even among her other peers, having many ways to keep herself alive even under extreme circumstances.

In stark contrast, Zhong Yue only had the Immortal Body and his worshippers.

In the City of Nature, Mother Da Zhen isn’t the real issue, Zhong Yue thought. He took out the divine herb he plucked down from Mother Da Zhen’s head and ate half of it. Immediately, he could feel himself brimming with energy. His arcane energy was recovering rapidly, and his wounds were healing in an instant and even his cultivation base was increasing!

No wonder the gods wanted to plant these divine herbs. Not only can they heal wounds, they can also boost one’s cultivation base. What a pity that Mother Da Zhen’s strength is severely compromised, or else this divine herb planted on her will be even better than now., He strode forward and thought, Nevermind that. The biggest concern now is this strange city!

The City of Nature was filled with many strange phenomena. He had already been through three different near death experiences in this city, and it wasn’t hard to tell that it wouldn’t just stop at three.

He couldn’t stop wondering how many secrets there were in t
he city, or how many people had died here.

He survived two out of the three experiences by luck. Both of which were that he was sent away before he was killed. The other time was that he forcibly endured the attacks and killed the four revived gods!

Come to think of it, the light rays that came out from the underground is truly bizzare, my【Pan Gu Six Paths】is able to stop it and the Pan Gu god in my Dao Yi Secret Realm can absorb it, Zhong Yue thought and came up with a conclusion, That being said, the light rays should be the unique power of the Six Paths Reincarnation.

He looked at the Pan Gu god in his Dao Yi Secret Realm. The Pan Gu god’s five hands made the hand signs of the Six Paths, while the sixth hand was not moving at all.

Compared to the last time when the Pan Gu god was shadowy, it was now much clearer.

Zhong Yue cast the【Pan Gu Six Paths】again and the Pan Gu god’s faint figure appeared in his six light wheels behind him. Golden rays painted the surroundings and the low chants of worship resounded throughout the place.

Eh? The【Pan Gu Six Paths】 is stronger now!, Zhong Yue was surprised. The【Pan Gu Six Paths】had six unique skills, but there were only five shown to him now. But even so, he could only crudely imitate the hand signs and cast the five skills; he wasn’t able to attain anything out from them.

Moreover, the【Pan Gu Six Paths】wasn’t very strong, only being effective against the undead. Thus, Zhong Yue never used it before in actual combat.

But now, after the Pan Gu god absorbed the light rays, the【Pan Gu Six Paths】had gotten stronger!

There is the power of the Six Paths in this city. The light rays that shoot out from the ground is proof of this. They can be absorbed by my Pan Gu god to strengthen it! Zhong Yue thought, The【Pan Gu Six Paths】will be my capital to survive the City of Nature!

His eyes then flashed with a keen light. He had survived the second near-death experience with his own strength and bolstered the power of the【Pan Gu Six Paths】.

What he to needed to do now was to continue finding ways to improve the power of his【Pan Gu Six Paths】!

Only by doing so can I see greater chance of survival! Zhong Yue recollect his thoughts and strode forward.

Soon after, he reached the front of a god’s grave. The grave was opened and clearly, the gods had prepared themselves this time; only one god had died.

Two skeletons devoid of spiritual energy lay beside the grave. Zhong Yue cautiously walked closer to them, and moments later, the earth quaked and a bizarre light permeated up through the ground.

The two skeletons then shook violently before slowly standing up!

Without any hesitation, Zhong Yue instantly cast the【Pan Gu Six Paths】and light from underground rushed to the back of his head, absorbed by his Pan Gu god. Even the light rays that entered the two skeletons flew out as well.

The two revived skeletons groaned and clawed over. But just a second before their claws could reach Zhong Yue’s head, they crumbled and collapsed back onto the ground as two lifeless skeletons.

“Run?" Zhong Yue could feel the spiritual energy in the underground moving away from him. He yelled softly and arms grew out from his body. He then punched the ground fiercely.

The earth cracked to reveal the light underground.

“Come over!" Zhong Yue quickly cast the 【Pan Gu Six Paths】 and a curtain of light was soaked into the body of his Pan Gu god!

The Pan Gu god grew ever more clearer, and the sixth hand moved as well –- the sixth hand sign had finally formed!

Meanwhile, a muffled groan reverberated from beneath the ground, shuddering the earth. Zhong Yue saw a shadowy figure moving in the underground, its voice stopped his 【Pan Gu Six Paths】 and it carried the light rays away with it!

It was huge, moving in the underground like a whale swimming in the sea!

Is this the disaster the gods are talking about?! Zhong Yue was shocked. The energy in his body trembled as his cultivation, energy, and psyche seemed to want to pour out of his body. He quickly leaped back and the place where he stood collapsed away into a bottomless hole.

His heart was pounding harder than ever. The ‘disaster’ would suck away every ounce of spiritual energy, including that living creatures and inanimate objects. Eventually, everything would be reduced into a pile of dust!

When his 【Pan Gu Six Paths】 was in touch with that huge figure, the spiritual energy in his mortal body was nearly drained as well!

Is it a creature, or something else?

Cold sweat burst out on Zhong Yue’s forehead. He looked into the hole and saw the shadowy figure moving away.

Then, the hole shone with the color of white, it was smooth like a pool of still water.

Right after, it turned darker than black, like a fathomless abyss. The white light soon returned to light up the hole in an incredible radiance.

After that, the colors disappeared and the hole slowly shrunk smaller like a wound that was healing.

The earth is healing itself? Zhong Yue shook his head in disbelief but couldn’t stop thinking about it, If the hole can heal like a wound, doesn’t that mean…

  The city is actually alive?

A shocking thought flashed across his mind and he immediately shook his head right after. He gave a series of dry laughters and mumbled, “Impossible, how can a city be alive… Wait, wait, no… the City of Nature is not a city, it is the stomach of Patriarch Nature, it could really be alive!”

His scalp tingled and the hairs on his skin bristled up, “Patriarch Nature is still alive!”

But he soon ruled out the possibility. Xin Huo said before that Patriarch Nature was the child of an innate god, although having half of his blood belonged to the innate gods, he was still not an innate god. He only had a limited lifespan, just like the other gods; he couldn’t possibly have lived until now

From ancient times until now, 86,000 years had passed. Even if he had six wheels and cultivated the Six Paths Reincarnation, only the Heavenly Monarchs could live for so long. But clearly, Patriarch Nature is not on that kind of level. Also, what is that white and black light, how strange…

He pondered deeply and a cold chill suddenly traveled down his spine as he ventured a wild guess, An eye! That was an eye! It was looking at me through the hole!

Zhong Yue’s body shivered in shock. Just imagining it terrified him! He wasn’t sure if the city was alive, but there was definitely someone, something living in this city. He and Mother Da Zhen weren’t alone in here!

What is that? Is it the cause of all the strange events?

Zhong Yue calmed himself and continued moving forward. He was hoping that he could find some clues in the center of the city. All he had now was baseless conjecture, but he might be able to find evidence of his theories at the center of the city.

The City of Nature was decrepit and dead silent. Green vines crawled up the building facades, and unkempt bushes grew unabated at every place the eye could see.

  Crack…

Tens of miles away from Zhong Yue, weird noises could be heard as a huge eye rose from the underground. It rolled in midair and finally stopped, looking toward Zhong Yue’s direction. It seemed like the eye could see through the mist in a way that not even the Fuxi divine eyes could.

“A young Fuxi…" The eyeball then began to nefariously cackle.

Chapter 564: The Last Fuxi |

The young man searched for the gods’ graves while the eye continued to stare at him. However, even though he was able to find a few, the light never came out again, and neither did the skeletons were resurrect like last time.

It was as if the bizarre light rays understood to no longer go near to him.

Strange, the power of the Six Paths in here is different to the one in the Returning Ruins. In the Returning Ruins, the power of Six Paths was nearly everywhere, but dead. The power of Six Paths here feels as if it is alive, Zhong Yue thought puzzlingly.

  Creak…

The sound of rusty gears tu
rning and blunt objects clanging echoed from afar. It wouldn’t be considered loud, but in this deathly quiet city, its din seemed to override every other sound.

Zhong Yue traced the sounds, walking past a line of trees and finding himself standing in front of a green land — a land paved with green vines on the floor like a huge net. Not a single spot on the floor wasn’t covered.

The noises came from directly below the green vines.

Zhong Yue cast the Golden Peng Sword out and slashed down some of the vines in front of him.

It was dark beneath, and he couldn’t see anything at all. But the noises grew louder and harsher.

He slashed down again one time after another, breaking the vines away. After some time, the green vines were finally all destroyed.

Then, the young Fuxi stood still like a statue, not moving a single inch at all, except for his widening eyes.

It was a pit, its top was sealed with a crystal clear barrier. So huge that it was more than enough to bury an army of soldiers in it. And in fact, it did.

He couldn’t tell how deep the pit was since it was filled an innumerable number of skeletons. These skeletons stacked on top of one another and were trying to escape from the pit.

The creaking noises came from the skeleton hands scratching the barrier and the banging noises were from the skeletons banging their skulls against it.

The spiritual energy in these skeletons was yet to fully disperse, some of their bones were still engraved with totem patterns, some were innate totem patterns while the others were seemingly acquired during their cultivation.

These totem patterns were incredibly profound, the spiritual energies were still strong but was also fading. A mysterious force was drawing them away from the skeletons.

Zhong Yue stared at the skeletons, his eyes brimming with pain and sorrow.

  The Fuxi Clan.

The uncountable skeletons in the bottomless pit were all gods of the Fuxi Clan.

The gods of the Fuxi clan were all buried in the pit, he couldn’t even count how many of them were there in the pit. These skeletons were still struggling, trying to climb out, as if oblivious of their death.
