The roars continued, and his bones were on the verge of fracturing!

“DIE!" Zhong Yue shouted loudly, the twin sabers finally decapitated the dragon god. Its huge head fell down and disappeared in the lightning loch.

“Did I win?" Zhong Yue was overjoyed, his arms atrophied into ash and he fell into the lightning loch after the dragon head. He didn’t even have the strength to grip on the two divine sabers anymore as they separated in mid-air and crashed some distance away from him.

Zhong Yue bathed inside the lightning loch as he allowed the lightning to penetrate his mortal body, scorching his muscles and nerves.

Zhong Yue lied in the lightning loch and thought, Shame, I didn’t defeat it on my own… Feng Xiaozhong… it’s your skill that truly defeated the Leize dragon god, it’s you that won this Lightning Tribulation, not me…

“Brat Yue, you smell good." Xin Huo leaped out, wiping slobber from his mouth as he looked at Zhong Yue’s cooked body, “What a shame I lack a mortal body, I cannot eat and taste anything. How about… you let me control of your mortal body for a while and let me taste have a taste of your flesh?”

Zhong Yue muttered something inaudible as a sign of protest while speeding up his recovery rate.

Soon after, his mortal body was fully healed. He consumed a few pieces of divine herbs to recover his lost strength and further refine his inner core.

  “Cast!”

After that, Zhong Yue cast out the two divine sabers and repaired them.

“Hmm? The sabers, they feel so much lighter…" Zhong Yue clenched the two sabers and swung them freely through the air.

Before, although he could cast the two sabers, he still struggled to wield both of them in his hands. But now, not only could he wield the two divine sabers in his hands, they even felt light!

“Are the Golden Origin Water in them frittered away during the battle?" Zhong Yue mumbled curiously.

“No, it’s you who became stronger!" Xin Huo laughed as he said, “In the Earth Order Era, the Lightning Tribulation was a means for the Fuxi cultivators to temper themselves. Every level of the Lightning Tribulation brought with it a huge improvement in their strength. Do you know why?”

  Zhong Yue shook his head.

Xin Huo laughed, “This is because the Fuxi Celestial Race has the blood of Leize in them. You Fuxi have a natural affinity to lightning. Normally, the Lightning Tribulation is a death sentence to most other races, but they are in fact, golden opportunities to awaken the Leize blood in them!

“You made it past the first level of Lightning Tribulation, and a little part of the Leize blood in your Fuxi bloodline has now awakened. Of course, the sabers would seem light to you now.”

“I see." Zhong Yue was enlightened. He took out the copper lamp, entered the mini Six Paths Reincarnations in it, and soaked the divine sabers in the Golden Origin Water again.

Meanwhile, Xin Huo looked curiously at the sabers, he asked again, “Brat Yue, these two soul weapons you forged, are they really sabers?”

  “Of course!" Zhong Yue assured.

Xin Huo scratched his head and said, “Then why can the sabers take the forms of the Shaohao Bell, altars, the Tai Chi Art, even the【 Dragon Shears】?”

“Because of the word ‘Yi’." Zhong Yue laughed loudly. He pulled the two divine sabers away and walked out of the Six Paths Reincarnations into the Leize lightning loch. He raised his head up and saw another Leize lightning loch forming above him, while the one he was in started to disperse.

“Yi, Fuxi, changes. This is what Fuxi Haoyi taught me. It’s the same concept that can be applied to the soul weapons.”

He strode into the second Leize lightning loch while saying casually, “There appears a dragon in the field, it leaps into the abyss when necessary and soars into the sky when given the opportunity, only the heavens can contain it. Humans are no different to dragons, we can change accordingly. And the same applies to sabers. This is my comprehension of ‘Yi’.”

  TN:

Now, now, the last sentence Zhong Yue said is a little more complicated to explain as even most of the Chinese wouldn’t understand. It’s fine to just skip it, they got nothing to do with the story/plot. But, if you are curious to know a little more about it, I will try my best to explain it to you all.

Basically, it comes from the famous , a hexagram known as Qian, which means Creativity. It consists of six parts plus an additional part due to its specialty (Only Hexagram Qian and Hexagram Kun seven parts). Hexagram Qian explains the life cycle of a dragon, which is used to refer to mankind.

Initial Nine: A submerged dragon is never to be used.

Meaning: A talent who yet to finish acquiring his knowledge and skills should not be touched or involved in any activities.

Second Nine: A dragon is seen in the field.

Meaning: The talent is now ready to show his ability to the world, and he can be found in the fields.

Third Nine: A noble works hard in the morning, and stays alert in the evening.

Meaning: No matter how good one is in his work, he should never lose his sense of alertness and slack back, never stop progress his own abilities further.

Fourth Nine: It leaps into the abyss, and soars in the sky.

Meaning: One must know under what circumstances he should take a step back and make a concession, or when should he jump in to seize the fleeting glimpse of success.

Fifth Nine: The dragon soars in the heaven.

Meaning: This is the time when one stands high enough to unleash his full talents, a great man arisen.

Topmost Nine: The dragon who raises its head too high would regret.

Meaning: This means that when one stands on the peak of his glorious days, he would or had already left some regrets in the decisions he made. This is to advice people from not going over the limit and do things they would regret.

Action Nine: The herd of dragons that soars without a head.

Meaning: This essentially means that there are a herd of dragons without a leader. Normally, this is used in a derogatory sense, denoting that even a group of dragons would achieve nothing without a leader.

But King Wen of Zhou, who is said to written the denotes that it is actually a commendatory term. When the members of the herd are all dragons, they would know where they stand, their respective responsibilities, what they can do and what they can’t; that way, everything will be carried in a smooth and perfect manner, even without a leader leading them.

  Chapter 577: Chaotic Origin—Investiture of Gods |

Forty-nine levels of Lightning Tribulations, each one was stronger than the last.

The second level of the Lightning Tribulation was the Leize lightning loch.

Zhong Yue descended into this void and he immediately plunged into the Lightning Tribulation. This level of Leize was about the same with the previous one, but it’s Lightning Tribulation was much stronger. Besides, there were even more strange lightning creatures and lighting mountains. In just a moment of time, his body became littered with injuries. Only after innumerable fruitless attempts was he finally able to pass this level.

He couldn’t be bothered to treat his wounds as he quickly controlled his two divine sabers, turning one of them into an altar and the other into the Tai Chi Art, which he used to defemd himself.

The ferocious and relentless power surged towards him, the bones in his body started to creak and they almost disintegrated his body.

In the Leize lightning loch, the lighting trees, lighting lakes, lighting mountains and other lighting objects were all totem carvings; the more types of objects appeared, the more varied the totem carvings.

And these totem carvings would, in the end, get branded onto the burner, amplifying its power!

After another half month, Zhong Yue finally freed himself from the burner, and just when he got out, he was once again faced with the Leize dragon god guarding the second level Lightning Tribulation, thus, another tough and ferocious battle!

  F
inally, after in his own blood, he finally managed to kill the Leize dragon god, dispersing it into lighting. He then treated his own wounds and stabbed his saber into the Golden Origin Water.

The third level Lightning Tribulation was much stronger than the second but Zhong Yue used merely twelve days to get out of the lighting burner and kill the Leize dragon god.

And he used an even shorter amount of time for the fourth level Lightning Tribulation, just less than ten days.

The reason why the amount of time spent in each level decreased despite the difficulty rising was because he was refining himself through the Lightning Tribulation. The more he refined himself, the stronger he became.

And with the lighting burner that helped him refine his Yuan Shen, mortal body, psyche, skills, and soul weapons. His flaws were slowly eradicated, and the impurities in his body were purged.

Once he entered level ten, he suddenly felt a tremendous quake in his True Spirit; he felt that it turned into a spirit that could see and hear everything above the skies and beneath the ground.

This feeling was very unique and amazing; he felt the prayers of all beings. A spirit that was born within the heaven and earth; it could sense those that worshipped it, hear their prayers, their wishes, and their needs.

For example, if right in front of his statue was a person begging for rain after a few months of drought, Zhong Yue would immediately sensed the prayer and through the statue of himself, he could control the power of worship around that statue to summon the rain!

With all their wishes fulfilled, Zhong Yue would receive even more worshippers, and the power of worship would only continue to rise from then on.

And his True Spirit could actually bathe itself in the worshippers’ prayers and manipulate the power of faith to strengthen itself!

This was the investiture of gods!

The Chaotic Origin True Spirit was also known as the Investiture Yin God Spirit. Upon entering this level, the Yuan Shen could be said to become a Yin God — it was truly stunning.

  Chaotic Origin True Spirit…

Zhong Yue got out from the burner and walked towards the Leize dragon god guarding the Lightning Tribulation as he whispered to himself, So this is it. No wonder both Senior Martial Sister Jun and Senior Martial Brother Fang managed to cultivate the Chaotic Origin True Spirit on their respective Celestial Stars. God knows how much power was entangled to the Celestial Stars that matched their innate spirit body. Other than others like them, it would be extremely difficult for one to cultivate the Chaotic Origin True Spirit.”

He did not possess an innate spirit body; and although he was close to becoming one, he was still not one. He only managed to breach through his limit this time because of the state of extremities he achieved before and the potential he drew out from himself through a series of life and death situations.

However, if he became a Innate Sun Spirit Body, he would also be able to reach the sun and increase his power through the mighty power of the sun’s power of worship.

Achieving the True Spirit level’s state of extremity—Chaotic Origin True Spirit, meant achieving the Yuan Shen Yin God, entering the level where the excessive Yin started to produce Yang. This was also a major turning point, a crucial point where the Yin God started to transmute the Pure Yang Yuan Shen!

Only by reaching this point would one be able to identify his path, to know how to cultivate the Yuan Shen into the Pure Yang state, thus, knowing how to ascend into godhood!

One could say that the Chaotic Origin True Spirit was the most important change in the life of a Qi Practitioner!

No wonder there was only a god in our Swords Gate….

Zhong Yue felt morose; the first headmaster had passed away too early. If he had the chance to tell the later generations about this extreme state, then at least one of the previous headmasters could have become a god.

But in this generation, there shall be more than one human god with that many talented Qi Practitioners!

As he thought of this, he went head on with the Leize dragon god. As the sabers swung, the dragon god disintegrated. Zhong Yue sheathed his sabers behind his back and walked toward the eleventh Leize lightning loch.

After cultivating the Chaotic Origin True Spirit and through using the power of worship, Zhong Yue’s speed increased by another level; he pummeled through a few levels within just a day, charging straight into the twenty-eighth Leize lightning loch; only then did his speed start to decrease.

Time flashed by in the blink of an eye.

Meanwhile in the Xiao Mang Celestial Temple in the West Barren, the spirit of the Xiao Mang grand ancestor and Feng Wuji had already been in the supreme temple for half a year. The grand ancestor kept modifying Feng Wuji’s body, refining his bloodline and fully unleashing the power of the Xiao Mang bloodline within Feng Wuji!

The grand ancestor took out various herbs and precious items produced by the world and had Feng Wuji consume them. He even helped Feng Wuji in absorbing them and removed the impurities in him while also reforging his totem carvings.

This Deity Overlord level godly spirit spent half a year, and a great deal of precious treasures to refine and reforge Feng Wuj into the perfect vessel. One can imagine how much of a boon this was to Feng Wuji!

In this period of time, not only did his body become incredibly strong, his Yuan Shen secret realms had expanded by several times. His Yuan Shen also saw a significant increase in strength as well!

His cultivation base became extremely solid and those flaws within his base were all wiped out by the Xiao Mang grand ancestor.

He even felt that his own strength was unreasonably strong to an extent that he was on par with the gods!

However, all of these were not for Feng Wuji but for the grand ancestor.

The purer Feng Wuji’s bloodline was, the stronger the bloodline power and the easier for the grand ancestor to possess Feng Wuji’s body. The same was applied to Feng Wuji’s mortal body; the stronger the base of Feng Wuji’s body, the easier for the grand ancestor to cultivate and to achieve an even higher level!

And if he managed to advance into the Deity Emperor level, his spirit would grow stronger and it could exist longer in this world!

Besides, Feng Wuji was an Earth Innate Spirit Body with great talent, his Innate True Spirit was already on the edge of awakening after this half year of effort!

If the Innate True Spirit was awakened, then it would become a godly spirit, which meant that once Feng Wuji advanced his Yuan Shen into the Pure Yang State, he would possess combat power on par with the gods!

“Wuji, today is the day I possess your body and the day I reborn.”

Xiao Mang grand ancestor exposed his three heads, stared at Feng Wuji with his huge eyes and said with three thunderous voices that stacked together, “Any last words?”

He had a fiery gaze, his eyes felt like six huge fireballs and when he stared at Feng Wuji, each and every detail of the young man’s face failed to escape the grand ancestor’s attention.

Obviously, he was still worried and suspected Feng Wuji’s willingness to let himself to be possessed.

Feng Wuji hesitated and said softly, “I still haven’t had any children….”

Immediately, the grand ancestor let his guard down and he said, “Hoho, you worry too much. Once I possess your body, this body is still yours, when I impregnate a lady, the child will still be yours. Don’t worry, I promise you that you will have many children in the future!”

Feng Wuji put up a happy expression and he said as he knelt, “Then it is my honor, Wuji greatly appreciates it!”

  “Do not kneel!”

The grand ancestor shouted, “From now on, your body is mine, how could you kneel with my body?”

Feng Wuji immediately got up and when the giant head of the grand ancestor’s spirit turned, he suddenly charged straight into Feng Wuji’s forehead and he yelled, “Wuji, do not resist, but there is nothing much you can do even if you do resist.”

  M
eanwhile, Feng Wuji remained frozen and when the grand ancestor’s huge body got close to Feng Wuji’s forehead, his body shrunk as he continued squeezing into Feng Wuji’s forehead.

When the spirit of Xiao Mang grand ancestor fully squeezed into Feng WUji, a three headed Pan Ao appeared in Feng Wuji’s psyche ocean and gazed at Feng Wuji’s Yuan Shen. He said with thunderous voice, “You are mine now!”

However, a figure charged into the supreme temple, flicked his finger and sent a golden decree written with marvelous runes towards Feng Wuji’s forehead. The golden decree burnt as it traveled into the air and in lighting speed, it entered Feng Wuji’s psyche ocean!

  “Hahahahah!”

Feng Wuji who was acting humble just now began to cackle maliciously until his eyes began to tear up!

“You are mine now as well!”

The golden decree burnt up completely in his psyche ocean; golden liquid flowed into his Yuan Shen and countless runes exploded, sticking onto the psyche ocean and sealing the entire psyche ocean!

The grand ancestor’s expression changed immediately and when he looked at the runes which looked incredibly complicated even with his knowledge, he felt that his spirit was being scorched and disintegrated into pure energy that surged towards Feng Wuji!

  “Wuji, you….”

“Grand ancestor? You are just an old dog!”

Feng Wuji’s Yuan Shen looked down at him as madness rose in Feng Wuji’s eyes, he said, “You want me to offer my body to you? Dream on, old dog! Xiao Mang, I have knelt upon you so many times with fear, despair and desperation! If you kneel down right now, I might be generous and let you go this time!”

The grand ancestor’s face changed again and he suddenly knelt down, he said humbly, “Wuji ancestor, I now kneel before you.”

Feng Wuji laughed arrogantly and suddenly, he turned incredibly gentle, “I was just kidding, grand ancestor. Do you really think I will let you go?”
