All of a sudden, the obedient the Xiao Mang grand ancestor opened his mouths and released a bombardment of attacks!

He was a Deity Overlord, even when there was the strange golden decree sucking away his cultivation base, he was still powerful. Furthermore, it would take at least a year for the golden decree to leave him powerless!

Thus, he was still strong enough to kill Feng Wuji with his current prowess. And after that, he would slowly deal with the golden decree.

However, the golden decree that covered all over Feng Wuji stopped the skills from hurting him, not even a single impression was left!

Feng Wuji was shocked as well when the skills were suddenly hurled at him, but turned overjoyed in the next second when he saw himself unharmed even in the skills of the Deity Overlord.

the Xiao Mang grand ancestor roared and dashed forward, opening his mouths wide and gnawing down at Feng Wuji!

  Ding—

A crisp clanking noise of metal resounded in their ears. What could have been a sure-kill blow turned out to be a joke—the Xiao Mang grand ancestor’s teeth were broken away, but Feng Wuji had not even lost a hair!

the Xiao Mang grand ancestor let out a loud whistle, he turned into a three-headed celestial being, and rained a series of arts, punches, and kicks on Feng Wuji.

A series of clunking sounds resonated together, but Feng Wuji remained unscathed. He guffawed tauntingly, “Strong, how strong! Tu Yu’s decree is far beyond the reach of those on the Ancestral Star! It’s worth all the kowtows I gave to him!”

Suddenly, the the Xiao Mang grand ancestor gave up on him and turned to the edge of his psyche ocean, launching his attacks frantically at the golden barrier. The barrier rippled like a pool of water as the the Xiao Mang grand ancestor’s attacks rained on it, but regardless of how powerful and quick the skills were launched at it, the golden barrier remained indestructible.

The Xiao Mang grand ancestor’s face was dark like gloomy clouds, he inhaled deeply and suddenly turned his heads around. His voice turned soft and tender as he said gently, “Wuji, I know my mistake now. But you are after all, my beloved descendant, my blood flows within your body. Now that I have admitted my wrongdoings, you don’t have to pursue this matter any further anymore, do you? Quick, let me out, I promise you I will let all this slide.”

Feng Wuji nodded, he answered placidly, “Grand ancestor, your demonic voices are good, but they are useless to me. You won’t ever understand how strong the person behind this golden decree is, you are nothing compared with him.”

The Xiao Mang grand ancestor’s voice turned frigid, “Even if you had siphoned all of my prowess, you still won’t be able to ascend into deityhood! There are no shortcuts to deityhood, more so through sucking the prowess of another god!”

Feng Wuji smiled, “Thank you for telling me that. But rest assured, you know you can always trust my intelligence. I’m sure I can find a way to advance into deityhood. In fact, I have never thought of using you to ascend into deityhood. I have only taken you as a divine herb with invigorating effects. After acquiring your prowess, I will still cultivate and attain the Pure Yang Yuan Shen on my own.”

The Xiao Mang grand ancestor’s face turned darker than black, he ignored Feng Wuji and sat down quietly before the golden barrier, trying to attain the totem patterns in the golden barrier to find a way out.

He was also an intelligent cultivator, else he wouldn’t have been able to rise to the level of Deity Overlord.

The golden barrier was formed by many runes, and the runes were written with the totem patterns. If he could attain and understand them, he would be able to find some ways to break through the barrier and escape!

Feng Wuji stood steadfast, glancing a pair of scornful eyes and let him be.

An existence that sits on the same table with the Realm Emperors, and is also one who communes with the heaven without even going through the Heavenly Monarch, do you really think you can attain the decree he has written?

  ……

  Leize lightning loch, level forty.

Zhong Yue supported himself up with the sabers. A rib bone was protruding out from his side while in front of him, the Leize dragon god was also filled with wounds all over its body.

The vicious battle had reached a point where both of them were just barely holding up, Zhong Yue was already on the verge of collapse, and the Leize dragon god was on the verge of dispersing!

Xin Huo said that I can only reach to the fortieth level, but I want to prove him wrong! Zhong Yue struggled to move his fingers, his hands were shaking as he raised the two sabers up.

The divine sabers abruptly turned into two bright rays and combined together into one as it was slashed down toward the Leize dragon god’s head!

The lightning dragon released a series of resonant roars, and deluged Zhong Yue with lightning skills from its mouth.

Zhong Yue saw it coming, but he had no spare energy to evade the incoming skills. The lightning charred his muscles, tearing them off from his body, and vaporized his blood away!

  Ka-cha—

The lightning dragon expended its last moments and swung its claw over Zhong Yue’s mortal body, separating the lower half of his body away from the rest!

Meanwhile, the saber ray cleaved through the lightning skills, and it decapitated the Leize dragon god!

  Zi-la—

The Leize dragon god collapsed back into the lightning rays and dispersed in all domains. Zhong Yue fell to the floor, he only had the upper half of his body, most of which was only left with bones.

Then, the torn muscles, broken internal organs and fractured bones that were scattered around the Leize lightning loch flowed back into his body. As he was in the Fuxi True Form, the lower half of his body was a serpent, it slithering its way and rejoining his other half.

Blood flowed like water streams into his broken heart, and the heart’s blood veins walked it back to Zhong Yue’s chest.

Zhong Yue’s mortal body was recovering slowly yet steadily. He was coughing blood, and although he was nearly killed, he still laughed loudly, “Xin Huo, I did it… Cough, cough, cough, I did it! I killed the Leize dragon god on my own, I didn’t use Feng Xiaozhong’s skills!”

He gasped for air as his lungs were punctured, he was practically breathing out blood mists while he was laughing, “And I killed the Leize dragon god of the fortieth level Lightning Tribulation!”

Xin Huo came out from Zhong Yue’s psyche ocean, he looked at Zhong Yue’s ramshackled mortal body and shook his head, “You sure did, but this is the furthest you go. The next Lightning Tribulation will kill you, I’m sure of it.”

  “Maybe not.”

A familiar voice suddenly interrupted them, Xin Huo quickly looked over and was stunned. A young man with horns, and a long saber on his back had walked into the dispersing Leize.

“We were not here before this, but we are now. I’m sure I can defeat all forty-nine levels of Lightning Tribulation.”

Then, another young man said as he walked over. He appeared to be a noble as he held a leaf-like sword in his hand and was shrouded with demonic Qi.

“Long Yue… Bo Xun…" Xin Huo was bewildered.

Long Yue and Bo Xun walked to Zhong Yue’s sides, the two True Spirit magnates abruptly surged their strength into Zhong Yue’s body.

Their Yuan Shen and inner core flew out in mid-air and disappeared into Zhong Yue’s mortal body and so did their mortal bodies.

In just seconds, Zhong Yue had returned to his peak state, his aura grew even stronger. He took out the copper lamp and refined the divine sabers with the Golden Origin Water again.

Zhong Yue smiled, he asked, “Xin Huo, do you think I can make it through all forty-nine levels and acquire the Dao Flowers?”

The little flame sighed, he mumbled, “I’ve forgotten you still had two incarnations… But your prowess now is far stronger than your incarnations, they are at most each just ten percent of your usual prowess. Even with the two incarnations
’ powers now returning to you, you are only twenty percent stronger. It is still hard to say whether you can do it. The last few Lightning Tribulations were really strong, even a twenty percent increase in prowess won’t guarantee your success!”

As they spoke, the forty-first Leize formed; Zhong Yue strode into it and the blunt sounds of the battle soon filled the surroundings again.

Half a day later, he was now at the forty-second Leize.

After another three days, he was already in the forty-third!

  …

  ……

Two months later, Zhong Yue was soaked in a pool of his own blood; while the Leize dragon god in front of him has dispersed into the lightning rays. The battle took him everything he got, and he suffered immense injuries unlike anything before.

Death was just a fine line away from him, yet he survived once again.

But he was left severely wounded, any child with a knife could easily kill him now!

His Yuan Shen was gravely wounded and was paralyzed, his psyche and arcane energy were completely exhausted, and his mortal body was sundered into bits.

Although he made it through all forty-nine levels of Lightning Tribulations, he was now lying on the border between life and death!

His thoughts became sluggish as his consciousness slowly dispersed. The battle had left him drained of every morsel of energy that was left within him. Xin Huo urged Zhong Yue to step back but stopped when he saw the unyielding determination in Zhong Yue’s eyes.

Now, even though Zhong Yue had won the battle, he was left without any energy to heal himself; he could only lie helplessly and watch as he slowly died.

Xin Huo was walking around Zhong Yue in a back and forth motion, shifting his focus between Zhong Yue and the sky while mumbling, “It should be here now, it should be… Come faster, otherwise, he will die for sure!”

All of a sudden, faint chants reverberated the sky. They seemed to have come from the heavens, and flowers appeared seemingly out of nowhere and fluttered down from the sky. Xin Huo was overjoyed, he heaved a breath of relief and laughed, “Now you won’t die, with the Dao Flowers helping you, you will live for sure!”

Zhong Yue’s eyes were devoid of focus and were slowly dimming. Then, a Dao Flower landed on his forehead. It quickly melted and disappeared into his head.

Like a rainstorm in a drought, the cracks on his Yuan Shen soon sealed themselves, and his depleted psyche ocean began to brim with abundance.

Another Dao Flower landed on his chest, and the fractured bones connected together again; the blood, internal organs, veins, and nerves all regrew back in place. His heart also started throbbing rhythmically like a powerful war drum.

The third Dao Flower replenished his lost arcane energy to the peak and reformed the destroyed totem patterns.

Then, from the forth Dao Flower onwards greatly strengthened his arcane energy, Yuan Shen, and mortal body!

The Dao Flowers fluttered down one after another while the heavenly chants baptised his body and soul of impurities.

One Dao Flower meant ten years of cultivation base, forty-nine Dao Flowers totaled up to four hundred and ninety years of hard cultivation!

His cultivation base was skyrocketing, reaching the peak of the True Spirit level in just seconds; the next step would advance him into the Imminent Deity level!

All of a sudden, Zhong Yue diverted the incredible energy of the Dao Flowers into his Yuan Shen while he nurtured the Sui Tree and Innate Tai Yin Qi with all of his might. Then, the Sui Tree’s Tai Yang Qi would nurture his Great Sun Golden Crow, and the Innate Tai Yin Qi’s Tai Yin Qi would nurture his six-eyed Star Toad.

It was incredibly dangerous to directly use the Tai Yang Qi and Tai Yin Qi as they were too powerful, able to incinerate his Golden Crow True Spirit and melt his Star Toad True Spirit in just seconds. However, the marvelous energy from the Dao Flowers were protecting the two True Spirits, he had no fear at al!

The Tai Yang Qi and Tai Yin Qi were gushing in incessantly, while Zhong Yue was diverting the Dao Flowers to protect his two True Spirits.

He would rather waste some of the Dao Flowers to get his two True Spirits cultivated into the Innate True Spirits first; even if that meant he would have to delay his advancement into the Imminent Deity level!

Chapter 579: The Silent Changes |

With the Dao Flowers falling into his body, Zhong Yue could clearly feel his True Spirits growing at an incredible rate. The Sui Tree and Innate Tai Yin Qi would ensure his True Spirits’ advancements into the Innate Trie Spirits, while the Dao Flowers were the assurance that the two True Spirits would not be killed!

The Innate True Spirit was the prerequisite to enter one of the state of extremities in the True Spirit level—the awakening of the Innate True Spirits was a state of extremity only accessible by the innate spirit bodies.

If one didn’t have an innate spirit body, they would never be able to cultivate this state of extremity, and would slowly be distanced away from the innate spirit bodies in the future.

This was one of the many advantages of the innate spirit bodies, none of the races could ever force it.

Thus, when given the opportunity. Zhong Yue would do anything he could to get there!

The Dao Flowers were consumed by the two True Spirits, boosting their powers.

When the thirty-ninth Dao Flower was fully consumed, Zhong Yue’s mortal body shuddered lightly. A marvelous sense of realization rushed into his head; his Golden Crow Yuan Shen was soaring and fluttering, and totem patterns that were even more profound and abstruse than before emerged from its body!

The knowledge and abstrusities of these totem patterns rushed into his head; they were the innate totem patterns that were far more profound than the Great Sun Totem Patterns he had previously attained!

With the help of the Sui Tree and Dao Flowers, the Great Sun True Spirit advanced one step faster into the Innate Golden Crow True Spirit!

Zhong Yue’s heart throbbed with excitement, the Innate Golden Crow True Spirit brought a huge leap in his prowess. His attainments in the Great Sun and True Spirit skills were wider and deeper, even his control over the Pure Yang Qi increased!

Furthermore, it was the sun that gave light to the moon; with the success of the Innate Golden Crow True Spirit, he could feel his Star Toad True Spirit growing at a faster rate toward the innate state!

“Good, good! It’s all worth my hundreds of years of cultivation!" Zhong Yue was overjoyed. He now turned all of his focus onto the Star Toad True Spirit. In comparison, his Star Toad True Spirit was more inferior to his Golden Crow True Spirit, its foundation was not as strong.

He didn’t cultivate the Star Toad True Spirit as much as his Golden Crow True Spirit, and also because it was taken from Xiao Chuqing instead of him manifesting it on his own, it was much weaker than the Golden Crow Yuan Shen.

However, the Dao Flowers and the Innate Tai Yin Qi, in addition to the newly cultivated Innate Golden Crow True Spirit, the Star Toad True Spirit grew at an incredible rate!

  “Six more Dao Flowers left…”

  “Two more…”

“Here comes the last Dao Flower…”

Zhong Yue tensed his heart, he was getting nervous as there was only one last Dao Flower left, and his Star Toad True Spirit was on the verge of breaking through!

He could feel the innate boundary just one step away, all he needed was a final impetus strong enough to advance it that last step!

  ……

Meanwhile, a divine tree with a leafy treetop arrived in the edge of the Ancestral Star’s galaxy. It stopped and rooted itself in the center of the sun, shrouding the sun core away with its tree branches.

Its branches extended out in all domains to every corner of the galaxy; the Celestial Water Star, Celestial Gold Star, Ancestral Star, Celestial Fire Star, and eventually, the whole Solar System!

Then, the leaves and branches grew fainter as the whole divine tree hid itself the void. Since that moment on, the
fundamental principles that dictated the galaxy had irrevocably changed!

At the same time, a huge scroll unfurled itself above the Solar System, covering the whole galaxy like a screen of light.

The scroll first wiped the surroundings back into a state of chaos; then, right inside of the the scroll, the light and dark was separated within the endless chaos, the endless elements of nature emerged, and also the beginning of life—it was a reenactment of the birth of a universe!

Eventually, the Ancestral Star had become one of the many stars and planets of the reenacted universe inside the divine scroll.

The Divine Tree of Knowledge and Skymetrical Scroll coexisted like a single entity; one changed the fundamental principles of the surroundings, and the other replaced the surrounding of the Solar System with a whole new universe.

The two divine weapons arrived silently without fanfare. They had already covered the Solar System without arousing any of the races’ suspicion.

Only some of the gods were able to detect that something was amiss; they looked up into the sky and found the stars lights blurred out for a split second as if a piece of silk had flashed over them. But the feeling had disappeared in the next second when they looked back again.

On one of the moons orbiting around the Celestial Wood Star, Qiu Jin’er abruptly raised her head and gazed into the endless space. She felt an invisible barrier flowing across the top, but the feeling was vague and indistinct.

Like slowly boiling a toad in a bowl of water, no one was able to detect the monumental change that would forever change their fates!

“Lie Shan Clan, your little fire spark burnt a huge hole!" On the edge of the Solar System, King Zi Guang mumbled in dissatisfaction as he saw the large hole in the previously flawless Skymetrical Scroll.

He shook his head and sighed while randomly picking a planet and tucking it into the large hole, now leaving the Solar System with eight planets.

“All done, I should go back now!" King Zi Guang laughed and left.

Over the next hundreds or even thousands of years, the elements required for cultivation would fade from existence. After five thousand years, even the strongest skill and art might not even be able to light up a box of matches!
