  “Zhong Yue...!” rumbling voices came from the altars, they replied in a series of loud roars, “Come!”

  Before the voices faded, the Gui Shen godly spirit lowered his body and shouted at the top of his voice. A shrill cry attacked Zhong Yue’s eardrums, like the mourns of innocent souls shrouding on his Yuan Shen!

  Inside of Zhong Yue’s pysche ocean, innocent souls formed by totem patterns emerged within and the Gui Shen godly spirit also disappeared into Zhong Yue’s psyche ocean. His claws were reaching for his heart!

  Although this Gui Shen godly spirit shared the same origins as Wei Xue God, he had a different skill set to Wei Xue God; it was even more bizarre and difficult to defend against!

  Zhong Yue would never fear frontal combat, but the Gui Shen godly spirit had no mortal body for him to strike. He struck right in Zhong Yue’s psyche, polluting Zhong Yue’s psyche ocean and attacking Zhong Yue’s Yuan Shen with his powerful godly spirit!

  On the altar, Zhong Yue was paralyzed, he couldn’t move at all.

  Meanwhile, faraway on the Shan Shen altar, the Shan Shen godly spirit laughed loudly while dashing over with his four arms wide open. The eyes on his palms shone and shot out four light beams at Zhong Yue!

  At the same time, his four huge palms followed closely behind the four light beams!

  In just an instant, Zhong Yue found himself in a precarious position!

  “You dare to fool around in my psyche ocean?” Zhong Yue suddenly laughed. His psyche ocean shone brightly as the Sui Sovereign, Sui Tree, and Fire Order Palace manifested themselves. Immediately, the innocent souls were vaporized into green smoke.

  Zhong Yue’s Innate Golden Crow True Spirit fluttered in his psyche ocean, spreading its wings out and turning into a round sun high above.

  Sunfire billowed down from it and cleansed the psyche ocean.

  Whereas Zhong Yue sat in the Fire Order Palace like a Heavenly Monarch. He clenched on the Sui Tree and slammed on the Gui Shen godly spirit, suppressing it down beneath!

  On the altar, Zhong Yue abruptly opened his eyes, but the four light beams had already bored through his mortal body, leaving four blood holes on him while the Shan Shen godly spirit’s palms were about to hit him!

  “Try harder!” Zhong Yue roared back. Two bright saber rays flashed through the sky and severed the four incoming arms. The Shan Shen godly spirit quickly receded, but the two saber rays flitted over and sheared toward his head like scissors.

  However, the Shan Shen godly spirit’s lacerated body had turned into spiritual energy and was reformed on the Shan Shen altar. The chants of worship brought him back alive without any injuries!

  The godly spirit guards over the livings, and the livings were also guarding over the godly spirits’ continuing existent!

  In just the blink of an eye, Zhong Yue strode to the front of the Shan Shen altar. There, the Shan Shen experts had already formed a god-leveled array formation, waiting for his arrival. In a series of loud yells, the Shan Shen array formation was activated and formed the image of a mighty Shan Shen god!

  Meanwhile, the Shan Shen spirit on the altar was seen walking down toward the array formation, if he merged with the Shan Shen godly image, his prowess would be greatly boosted!”

  “Where’s my lion mount!” Zhong Yue called.

  “Here!” Shi Buyi rushed from behind, holding on the Gui Shen high priest’s head in his hand and was soaked in blood.

  Shi Buyi was filled with great killing intent, he tied Gui Shen high priest’s head on his waist and leaped into the array formation while laughing loudly, “You want to merge together with the godly image? Dream on! Or you will have to pass through me!”

  The Eight Extreme Malefic Weapons slaughtered the Shan Shen experts in the array formation, while the soundwaves of his nine heads’ roarings were superimposed together to disrupt the flow of the array formation!

  Whereas Zhong Yue took a step forward, he clenched the sabers tightly and brought it down in a slashing motion, cleaving away the array formation in the middle!

  Shan Shen godly spirit’s four arms launched a fierce barrage at Zhong Yue. The two of them were entangled in a fast-paced battle, exchanging strikes at an incredible clip.

  All of a sudden, the saber rays blinded the surroundings, and the Shan Shen godly spirit was decapitated again. Zhong Yue stomped his head into the ground, and the godly spirit dispersed into motes of light.

  But the chants of worship from the Shan Shen experts revived the godly spirit once again. When the Shan Shen godly spirit returned, he quickly moved back. Zhong Yue struck his hand into the void, and the space behind the godly spirit was distorted. However, Zhong Yue’s hand never did came back out, he was gloved by the space barrier, and was only able to barely clench onto the Shan Shen godly spirit.

  I still can’t break through the space barrier yet. I’m still a slight distance away from contending with real gods. At most, my prowess is a near-maturing saint spirit, Zhong Yue thought to himself.

  Further away, there were thunder rumbled as the Lei Bird godly spirit soared into the sky from the altar. His wings fluttered and reached the front of Zhong Yue in just a second as it tried to claw down at Zhong Yue’s head.

  “Aouh—”

  Then, the Jinshui Raging Ape Celestial Race’s godly spirit drummed on his chest, he picked up a golden stick from another altar and leaped toward Zhong Yue!

  In another altar where a god’s corpse was enshrined, the godly corpse suddenly stood up and sprinted over, arming himself with two huge cymbals and slamming them toward Zhong Yue’s head!

  Zhong Yue’s head was clawed by the Lei Bird godly spirit. This Lei Bird’s claw was one of a kind, having nine toes all together. Two of which clawed into Zhong Yue’s nostrils, two on his ears, another two inside of his mouth, and the last three piercing into his divine eyes.

  The sharp claw had completely locked Zhong Yue’s head in place!

  The Lei Bird godly spirit surged his strength into the claw and tried to crumble his head. But at this moment, Zhong Yue’s three divine eyes suddenly shone brightly, melting the three toes on them!

  Then, the Great Sun Golden Crow flew out from his psyche ocean, but before it could pounce on the Lei Bird godly spirit, the Jinshui Raging Ape godly spirit reached him with the golden stick. Thus, Zhong Yue could only have the Innate Golden Crow True Spirit turn around to ward off the Jinshui Raging Ape.

  Meanwhile, the Lei Bird godly spirit mustered his strength and heavily pulled his claw back, tearing open a huge piece of Zhong Yue’s skull. Lightning then converged on the Lei Bird’s mouth as he wanted to blast it into Zhong Yue’s head!

  Right at that instant, the Golden Crow True Spirit flashed over, it clawed on the Lei Bird godly spirit’s claws while it poked his neck with its beak as its third talon scratched at the Lei Bird’s chest as if trying to reach straight for its heart.

  Zhong Yue blocked the golden stick with his sabers, and three rays shot out from his divine eyes at the Jinshui Raging Ape while the torn piece returned on his skull and started healing itself.

  At the same moment, the two cymbals from the godly corpse reached his face.

  Beng—

  The top of his skull was struck opened again, and his brain was nearly reduced to mush!

  Arms grew out from his body, and Zhong Yue retrieved the broken piece of his skull. It was shaped like a bone bowl, with terrifying totem patterns engraved in it that sucked the Shan Shen godly spirit into his Yuan Shen secret realms!

  Although the Shan Shen godly spirit managed to break free from Zhong Yue’s Yuan Shen secret realms, the copper lamp inside it opened and sucked him away in an instant.

  “There goes my fourth sacrifice.” A new piece of bone grew back and filled the missing hole on his skull.

  The godly corpse wielded two huge cymbals and went for his head.

  Zhong Yue yelled furiously, he cast out the Fuxi True Form and coiled his snake tail at the godly corpse’s legs, shackling him on the sport, while six out of eight arms rained down on the godly corpse’s face, disfiguring the godly corpse.

  Meanwhile, the Jinshui Raging Ape lunged the golden stick at Zhong Yue’s heart right after he evaded the three godly rays. His overbearing strength even shuddered the space around, but Zhong Yue’s divine sabers came together to form the【Celestial Demon Tai Chi Art】in front of him.

  “Argh—” the godly ape roared, his strength burst out into the golden stick, and forced its way through the【Celestial Demon Tai Chi Art】!

  Zhong Yue was devoid of emotion, another two hands suddenly reached into the【Celestial Demon Tai Chi Art】and swung them forcefully like two divine sabers. The godly ape was beheaded while the golden stick had finally penetrated the【Celestial Demon Tai Chi Art】and bore through his chest!

  His heart was crushed away by the golden stick!

  Zhong Yue’s blood essence weakened, and he waved the saber, pushing open the golden stick from his body. Right away, the Immortal Body came into play and healed the hole on his chest, recovering his lost strength.

  “You are indeed powerful!” A series of laughter came from one of the altars faraway, and a surge of godly aura burst through the firmament. A godly spirit had awoken and was laughing loudly, “Four godly spirits, and yet, you were able to kill one, suppress one, and gravely injure the other. You are truly amazing! Kui Long, he is using the Immortal Body of your race, what do you think of it?”

  On another altar on the other side, a half-dragon, half-ox celestial sneered coldly, “I have nothing on my mind other than the desire to kill him today! Wing Lion, lend me your strength!”

  The Kui Long godly spirit flew toward Zhong Yue, and a human-bodied, lion-headed godly spirit followed closely behind while laughing. The Wing Lion godly spirit fluttered his wings and caught up to the Kui Long godly spirit, then battering his fists on Kui Long’s inflated body.

  Immediately, the thrums of a drum reverberated the sky as cracks started to emerge in the space around!

  Zhong Yue was struck hard by the soundwaves and was sent flying backward and spurting out a mouthful of blood in mid-air. Meanwhile, the godly corpse freed himself and rushed toward him with the two cymbals!

  Then, another godly spirit laughed loudly. He bolted into the sky while bringing along a divine lute from another altar which he then played in mid-air. Unlike the thrumming drum or crashing cymbals, the sounds of the lute were soft like the whispers of a lady as it undulating between high and low pitches.

  The Kui Long used himself as a drum and the Wing Lion thrummed on him, the godly corpse crashed the cymbals, and another godly spirit played the lute. The four godly spirits changed places continuously around Zhong Yue in the air!

  Various noises pummeled in his ears from all domains, but the godly spirits’ control of their powers were too meticulous. Not only did the sounds inflict continuous damage on Zhong Yue, they were perfectly balanced so that he wasn’t able to move anywhere until he was reduced to ash!

  Although the godly spirits were long dead, their prowess had yet to fully disperse; although they didn’t have mortal bodies and their prowesses were weaker than living gods, the experiences they had gained from the battles remained in their spirits even after death.

  The four godly spirits operated with joint perfection as they executed their ploy to kill Zhong Yue.

  A few moments later, the sounds of bone cracking could be heard coming within his body, and his skin started cracking open!

  “Inner core force field!” Blood gushed out from his mouth as he yelled. An inner core soaked with blood then flew out and expanded into the Celestial Demon Tai Chi Force Field. The sun and moon rose and fell rhythmically, and the Yin and Yang Qi, celestial and demon Qi surged across the force field, trapping the four godly spirits within.

  Immediately, the godly spirits’ arcane energy were staggered, giving Zhong Yue a small window to exit their beleaguerment. He leaped out from the inner core force field and shrunk it back into the inner core right after.

  Zhong Yue swept his hand across the inner core, and the four godly spirits locked onto his inner core shuddered violently but still managed to survive the killing blow. Quickly, the four godly spirits came back to their senses and imbued their arcane energy into the divine weapons, creating cracks on the inner core and pushing it to the brink of shattering apart!

  Zhong Yue’s face drastically changed, he flicked the inner core into his Yuan Shen secret realms. There, the copper lamp opened and sucked the inner core into it, and just a split second later, the inner core was hurled out with cracks all across it!

  “Eighth sacrifice!” Zhong Yue was spurting blood incessantly, his face pallid as snow.

  “【Sea Command Divine Ape】!” the Jinshui Raging Ape godly spirit was revived on the altar, and had been cast out of an ocean that swallowed Zhong Yue away before he got back on his feet.

  Inside of the ocean, the Jinshui Raging Ape godly spirit moved freely like a bird released into the sky, assaulting Zhong Yue at the hardest angles to defend.

  The ocean water was fully formed by the godly ape’s arcane energy, it covered over a thousand miles of land, and the altars looked like islands brimming with godly rays.

  Then, another godly spirit, Fei Lian dashed over, slashing down his saber-like limbs at Zhong Yue’s head!

  Meanwhile, the earth quaked and the Gou She godly spirit unburrowed from the ground. He swam in the water, and locked Zhong Yue’s movements away with his hook-like limbs while lau
ghing, “Zhong Yue, where did you keep the other godly spirits?”

  Zhong Yue shook his body but couldn’t free himself, even shrinking down his body didn’t work as the Gou She godly spirit would shrink along as well.

  In the meantime, Shi Buyi had just torn the Shan Shen experts’ array formation to the ground. He was also wounded but was stunned when he saw Zhong Yue was facing the onslaughts of the godly spirits all alone.

  The shocked lion quickly dived into the ocean and his nine heads swayed bigger. Just a second before he could suck the ocean into his stomach, a golden beam caught him off guard and struck him from behind. It shot him tumbling on the water surface away for a few hundred miles.

  Shi Buyi quickly looked back and met with a fluttering Shen Jiu godly spirit whose eyes shot out another two godly rays like swords at him!

  “Just mere dead gods, how dare you stand in the way of the living?” Shi Buyi laughed out of anger, he turned into a celestial being with nine heads and cast out the Eight Extreme Malefic Weapons.

  But suddenly, the Shen Jiu godly spirit blew out a wave of black smoke right at him.

  The black smoke had an incredibly repugnant scent, similar to the strong stench of rotten meat brewed with various kinds of manure.

  Even an experienced veteran with strong willpower like Shi Buyi couldn’t stand the foul-smelling smoke, his nine heads vomited together as if his internal organs would lunge out of his mouths at anytime. He feel himself devoid of energy, and his mortal body and Yuan Shen were numbed.

  “Monsters or humans, both of your races are just food to us, still the most pitiful existences since the ancient days.” The Shen Jiu godly spirit snickered, and made two holes on Shi Buyi’s chest with the godly rays.

  Then, he alighted beside Shi Buyi and waited for the lion to bleed to death, while he smiled loftily and said, “It’s only because of that few monster gods of yours that we gave the monster race a better status in this world. But don’t you see, we still eat you whenever we like, because you never actually matters to us. It’s funny how the humans intend to walk on the same path your ancestors did. But what entertained me even more is that you, the monster overlord, a demigod, had actually come to aid the human race. Don’t you think the human race is a good sack for you to release the anger against the celestial race when we trample on your dignity one time after another?”
